All the named, level 60 Kunark dragons are basically the same in terms of loot. These are Gorenair, Severillous, Talendor, and one other of whom I cannot remember the name. They all have different skills/spells, and are different classes. They drop different quest loots, but they all drop Nagafen/Vox loot, along with Faydedar in Timorous Deep. They drop their own loots as well, which include; Dragon Hero Bracer, scales, spells, various blades, etc. They also each drop a drag-specific shield - Shield of the Green Dragon, Shield of the Red Dragon, etc. They reside in Skyfire Mountains, Dreadlands, Emerald Jungle.

Can anyone who actually sucesfully killed this guy post a strategy to killing him?

I was on 2 raids one was with some high 40 to high 50 ppl about 50 of us we died got him half way didn't really do anything extra odrinary just tryed waching him caster couldn't cast worth **** while stuned/feared

2nd attemp was only with 52+ a lil bit over 50 of us most were below 55. got him down to S but all died again once again everyone was just feared/stunned during all the battle which lasted quiet some time 10-15 min I did around 1k dmg to him which is pathetic. Is there no way to take the this dumb *** dragon other then brining around 100 ppl or everyone being level 60?

Need lvls plain and simple. You won't be able to resist his AoE fear/poision/stun regardless of your PR until you are at least lvl 55.

Also bark potions work well against the fear, however, they work much better when you hit 56+ as when you are feared you are an NPC and 56+ NPC's can't be stunned.

His maximum melee damage is 520
He uses magic based area fear
He uses poison based area stun

The ONLY damage he will do is with melee and very weak shaman spells he barely casts. Dispell him immediately to get rid of his haste. Have a shaman land malo and then tugurs insects. Game over for severilous.

Important: resisting his spells is based heavily on levels. If you are level 50 your gonna be running all the time and stunned when you arent. At level 60 with good resist he sticks fear maybe 10% of the time, and poison maybe 20%.

at lv 54, with a lot of buffs and a bard playing a res song (I mean 230 res diseace/poison and 210 magic) I resist only once a stun during all the battle. hopefully he dont cast each 20 sec the AE stun. at the start of the battle he seem to cast like mad, after 1 min he cast each 30-40 sec and when he go below ~20% he start to be a ***

LOOT ??
Whats the Loot on em , Only Shield and Bracer or also some Items like VOX and Naggy are droping ??
easy, but... hard =P
# Nov 27 2000 at 3:45 AM Rating: Default
this guy is easy but hard as well, he AoE stuns, and AoE fears, and he does that in like 3 secs at a time, not enough to cast a spell, but! if you let the tanks do the most of the work and interupt his castings, your wizards may get some spells in. Water/Air pets is good here.

Ok folks... while people of various factions across the world will have varying cons to this Disciple of Veeshan, they are not like the outcast dragons Vox and Nagafen... they are part of a ring of dragons that quietly attends to Veeshan based out of the wastes of Velious where their brood was originally implanted... they are a political powerhouse to be sure, but they are not particularly concerned or aligned in any particular way with the general races of norrath, aside from a possible mild disdain for the infectious minor races on their mother's world. They seem to hate the Antonican Bards and Mayong Mistmoore... (actually, this seems a triangular relationship of animosity) and therefore, if either or both are your enemies, I suspect the true dragons will be somewhat accepting of you.
True, but think about this..

Bards are the only class that can worship Veeshan (Ring of Scale leader).

=) Ponder that...

On Mith Marr on 11/2/00 (I think - can't remember)Lemmings and some assorted other guilds got together and took a pop at him (Bakk leading) and we were not successful. I was buffing party MR/PR up above 230 for each resist for each member in party (bard songs...) and it didn't matter. Fear stuck to almost everyone 80% of the time. At any given time there were at most 2 people beating on him - which he wiped out almost instantaneously in melee (hits for over 500 - but we've established that already). Maybe this raid being so damn late (or early heh - actual engagement started about 6:15 am CST) had something to do with it.

Overall, I thought it was a well organized raid - run as well as any of the other successful dragon raids I've been on - except for the fact that *everyone* (except me... I was the lowest lvl there at 48) was 50+ ... shoulda been no problem. But - he kicked our asses handily. The funny thing is that I had been feared probably 12 times (and run into the forest, then run back to the dragon, ad nauseum) before he even conned worse than apprehensive to me (/shrug). Finally - I'm guessing one of my songs was actually able to buff one of my estranged party members (I wasn't able to keep the songs on them a lot of the time due to the insane running...) and he aggroed me. He cut me down in about 6 swipes... all 400+. Ouch. Oh well - back to the drawing board, huh?

I do remember Ardarin making a comment that his MR was over 280 the entire fight (not that over 255 makes a difference - so effectively 255 MR) and he was feared for almost the entire duration. He is a lvl 56 cleric if memory serves.

There were approximately 40 people on the raid, give or take.

With 243 PR, I fully resisted *ALL* of his poison based attacks.

Sev is by far the most unconquerable opponent I've encountered in EQ thus far. I can't wait to kick his *** with 40 of my closest friends :)

Have you considered that it is in any way possible that his fear effect isn't based on MR? Just like the tashani line of MR debuffs for enchanters isn't... it's actually considered a poison! Either way, I wouldn't be able to expect to resist a dragon... hahaa

Oh - just in case you are wondering what poison resist jewelry you can get easily - here's the lowdown on what I used (and several others had made out of the spare components I brought along with me for the raid):

1.) Golden Pearl Necklace (5 AC, +9 PR, ALL/ALL)
approx cost of components: 16p

2.) Platinum Pearl Rings x 2 (4 AC, +10 PR, ALL/ALL)
approx cost of components: 115p (per ring)

3.) Golden Malachite Bracers (+5 PR, ALL/ALL)
approx cost of components: 11p (per bracer - don't forget that a hero bracer is +5 PR :)

I was traveling on the cliff when I topped a rise only to be killed by him in two swipes (hit of 260 and slash of 520).

He was traveling North in the middle of the cliff area and the spot where I died was around 3200 North.

I suppose this Dragon belongs to Ring of Scale faction, which means if you hunted long enough in Mistmoore your faction should be high enough to be non-KOS to him.

60th lvl Shaman NPC Dragon.

I found this guy wandering over the jungle on the cliff edge. He seems to wander from the FOB zone area to the staircase. I'm not certain if he always spawns up there, nor if that's his only pathing route. But he did stay around that area for over an hour when I was there.

What does it drop?

You tell me, I'm not touching this thing.

It also cons apprehensive to a Troll worshipper of Innoruuk. I heard it conned warmly to a DE. I sure hope it eats "light" races, that would be utterly funny to me.

Actually it conned warmly to a wood elf bard who worships Bristlebrain.....then it ate my party. I don't know what we did to make it mad, it could have been the DE SK in our party or the fact that our druid had a charmed trakaraptor. The thing has an AOE fear/root spell....basically makes you stuck and helpless while it kills you.

No he cons warm to most races as in dwarf its warm to Brell. Hes a nasty opponent and no one on my server has taken him down. he posions a dot and his fear is a ***** to resist. Also he Stunns and hits for 520 damage a pop. Also he runs at sow speed.

I'd also heard a snow-white Dragon was spotted in the dreadlands and that it conned Amiably to a woodelf. Perhaps the Ring of Scale has been sending scouts to equatorial Norrath!

Hes a shaman, has a wolf pet, casts the upgrade to alacrity on himself, and is sowed. As of now he casts an AOE fear and a AOE poison stun. the only way to die from his is from melee, however i hear they are fixing this in a upcoming patch and his aoe poison stun will now do 600 damage. Pile on the poison and magic resist gear. Hits for about 660 if i remember. drops random vox nag loot and also ???green dragon scales??? hmmmmm quest?? we dont know yet =) ~Gnome
Severilous Easiest Dragon to Kill
# Feb 20 2001 at 3:16 AM Rating: Good
Have killed Severilous 4 times now in a week and a half since our guild decided to play with dragons. In every instance we had 7 full groups. Everyone had 100MR and 170PR. We had a level 60 Shaman to slow. Most of the perticipants were 52+ 25 or so were 55+ The trick to killing him, and other dragons for that matter is a little thing call Bark Potion. Bark potions are sold at the Firona Vie Druid vendors they root you and give you negligible regen while you fight. You pull a dragon to wherever you want to fight and everyone uses these potions after they run under the dragon. The dragon fear interrupts casting, but melee's continue to hit the dragon and you don't have people running all over the zone feared getting a bunch of greens.

Hm. Beside the fact that your post about bark potion is quite usefull, I am a bit surprised you killed a one week respawn dragon 4 times in a week and a half.
Lots of server down ?
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 06 2001 at 7:45 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have a hard time believing FOH cannot take this dragon out. Maybe they didnt have the right ppl to do it, but if any guild can take this dragon out its FOH! BTW if you dont believe FOH isnt the most powerfull guild in EQ, surf the site's and ask the GM's.
#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 05 2000 at 4:02 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Not even Fire's of Heaven could take this ***** down. I witnessed them when they tried the dragon in DL. Was funny as hell. FoH droping one by one. They gave it there best. It is pretty scarey taking the strongest guild on EQ down.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 19 2000 at 4:24 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) PsOa PsOa!
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 03 2000 at 10:26 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) That guild sucks *** then, and I bet you that is not the strongest guild on EQ, Gorenaire and the red dragon in skyfire has been taken down on the cazic-thule server, I know I was there.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 07 2001 at 3:16 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Errrm, do you know what you are talking about?

RE: Sev, sheesh
# Apr 09 2001 at 5:57 PM Rating: Default
Okay if FOH is the most powerful guild in EQ then this game has no hope. I think people come post on here that are in the same server as the guild or have heard people talk about them like they are the gods of EQ, so assume they are. These dragons come down all the time on cazic-thule server, we have guilds that go and clear the second the server comes up, they take out all the big guys, venril sathir, trak, and the various dragons. However i watched a failed attempt to kill gorenaire last night that was hilarious =P I've seen the lozidal shell armor around, as well as a few sheilds of the green dragon, never seen the bracer though. my guild will be targetting this particular dragon soon as he is rumored to be the easiest.
RE: Sev
# Sep 13 2000 at 8:01 PM Rating: Default
i don't know anything about Fire's of Heaven since i play on Mith Marr but i would bet that if Afterlife and Cats in Hats team up they could take this bad boy down, if not then there's no hope hehe.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 17 2000 at 12:01 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well lets put it this way. I play on Veeshan and FoH and CT (Celestial Tomb) both attempted to take the DL guy down. FoH goted wiped and CT tried with so many people they crashed the zone mid fight. So unless they up our abilites or tone the dragon down not much can be done against it.
RE: Sev
# Feb 02 2001 at 3:16 AM Rating: Default
Gorenaire has been taken down before on Innoruuk. Also, there are 5 Warrior Epics on Innoruuk so that means Sev has been killed atleast 5 times (need green dragonscale for quest).. Propably all by LoD tho :)
#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 17 2000 at 11:05 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Is he some dragon? hahahaha i thought it would be, um tougher hahaha
