This guy is easily duo-able if you have any AA's to speak of as a tank, and a 62+ cleric and halfway decent gear. Took about 5 minutes and 4 complete heals with a 7k hp tank (only had virtue on) 65 cleric and 65 enchanter with a DC pet, hardest part, is keeping the pet from getting aggro when it ran off from fear, lol. Drag to a corner of the zone where you don't get alot of adds. He is about as tough as a Guardian Wurm that has an AOE fear and fire dot. If you have an extended range III or better item, you can sit outside of AE range and CH the tank. You will probably never see this mob up now unless you happen to be in the zone and he spawns, other than that someone missed the spawn timer. lol

My friend(who 2boxed a 65 shm and 65 mnk) and I (63 shm) took talendor down today on our first try. He was in the canyon that is in the southwest part of the zone and was a pain to finish because he ran up the wall. However, it wasn't even close, I kept on kragg(1950 heal) and my friend was tnarging(1350) his monk. He only hit me for about 550ish and is unslowable and doesnt attack anyone who is feared unless all engaged are feared. Didn't have any touble with his dot or his roar as our resists for Fire and Magic were over 250 ea. Dropped very nice loot for us and was alot of fun.

rolling and stuff

"In 4 hours, I can make about 12k."

care to explain me where?

Nobody in his right mind would sell a CoF as melee. 36% haste is hard to beat, and everybody will tell you that elemental resists are a nice thing to have

Usually, to avoid some pp-hungry looters, rolls are class restricted. Eyepatch of Io e.g. may only be rolled by casters.

would I like that? hell yes. 15 wisdom would be really neat when I tradeskill...but other than that I won't use it.

Any decent Raidleader will apply the NBG (Need before Greed) rule.
People who are seen selling Dragon loot will find it hard to be allowed in the next raid. At least on my server :)

Actually I as a 65 monk with 41% haste have absolutly no problem making 70-90k on a CoF, and when i box this dragon with my monk and a 65 druid there is nobody to roll on any loots soo..............

It is easily possible for a group to take down this guy. Im sure that 6 level 65's could smoke this guy in under a minute. A 65 wiz can take a good portion of this guys hp's. And with a good 65 warrior and 2 65 clerics, the tank could be kept alive for a long time. I have seen 4 65's (Valon members) take down Gore in under 30 seconds....

I can't confirm, I'm sorry, but as almost everything over level 55 can summon I think the chances of this iguana not being able to summon are very slim.

Resist?

What type of dragon is this? Dropped this dude with my guild today. I figured he was a fire dragon, being in skyfire and all, so i didn't even keep a fire dd memmed. He casts an irritating fire dot but he seems immune to cold spells. I'm a lvl 59 druid & Talendor was malos'ed by a 65 shaman - I cast Frost 5 or 6 times and got a full resist on every shot.

What's up with that? Does fire or magic work on him better? If so, that makes no sense.

How close were you when you cast? You have to be within melee range of any dragon for spells to land. Otherwise you'll always get full resist.

took this guy down 2 weeks ago while farming for pearl fragments in skyfire.

We did him with 1 group, all lvl 65, except the wizard bot, who was 56. One rogue, 2 clerics, enchanter, wizard and MT (me).

We got a good spawn too, dropped 3 x RBB, a dragon hero bracer and several crap spells.

COF
# Jan 01 2003 at 2:45 PM Rating: Decent
Though I don't really care if a raid group sets policy on rolling for non no-drop items to members that can make use of the item, I take offense at the comment its being selfish for Shaman to want to roll on an item like CoF. If a raid needs a slower i bring my 61 shaman if another tank i bring my 57 warrior low on Clerics? i bring my 59 cleric I can bring all 3 of these at a time though playing 3 characters in a raid format is difficult. I have 4 more characters over 50 and I don't call them twinks they are usefull in many types of circumstances. Just because I happen to have my Shaman or Cleric there because the raid might have 6 tanks and no slowers or not enough healers shouldn't mean I can't roll on a Cloak my warrior can use. Spells I don't have are of more interest but it's not being selfish to roll for something another character you have needs if you did your part in the raid.

Jarg,

I have to agree with you when considering your circumstances with multiple 50+ chars available to the raiding party. If you are in a raid as a specific class based on the needs of the raid as opposed to a class you would rather bring based on the loot available, I would not have a problem letting you roll on a Warrior item for instance. I have seen this done before and it works best when it is announced up front to the raid. That helps avoid hard feelings if everyone understands that the only reason your warrior isn't present to roll is because you filled a much needed void in the raid structure with a class other than the one you would have preferred. In some circles that can be vital to the raid's success.

On the other hand, I must also agree with the post immediately below this one. If I have multiple chars (even if they are all high levels and not just off the Twinkie Truck) and I choose to bring my Shammy to a raid instead of my Warrior or whatever, I have basically given up my claim to any loot that is better suited to another class or group of classes under the idea of NBG.

Regardless of the situation though, the best (and most often overlooked) solution to this issue is for the raid leader to make clear the looting rules and guild loot policies well in advance. Especially if there are any special concessions being made to an individual. Trying to sort this out with the corpse rotting at your feet is bad form in my book.

just dropped him 4 groups 45 to 62 our 60 druid did the low aggro pull both times

has around 32 k hp unles your in his face you get resisted a lot on yer spells we wiped the first time on him becuase none knew about whole direct contact casting thing and it sure aint mentioned in here P plus the lack of bard boosts and resist gear on our clerics made it hard for our healers to not get snaged by fear while tryn to cast on CH on the second try they switched to faster heals all around and that plus the bard resist made their job ezer
I did notice that being under his belly i didnt get feared as much and dint move when i did get feared made it ezer to hit him with ice comet and lure both of which got partial resists at 56 about 80 percent of the time
of course our 60ty wizzie tapped him for 6k and didnt get a single partial resist he was up under him as well
my fr was 208 and i didnt get touched by the ae fire or the dots fire
my MR how ever was only 174 and i managed resist fear only about 6 outa 10 times however i lost fear much faster than some of are peeps with less resist gear. and after the battle looked a lot better than the rest of my group which had mrfr in the 100 to 150 ranges and ended up at 30percent health and running all over skyfire.
the main MA grp was bard song boosted with resists over 200 and didnt get touched by either fear fire or fire dot.
the items that droped were the Runed Bolster Belt
red dragon scale McVaxius's Horn of War Kavruul's Mystic Pouch SPells Demilich Legacy of Thorn and Devouring Darkness.
Grats to Draconus Arcanum and Exiled Gatekeepers and all the peeps that showed up for a quick pickup raid /grin

Note this is partially fact and partially my assumptions if you got somethin factual to add related to taking down Talendor then do so otherwise leave yer silly posts at the door or watch them get filtered into the loser trash heap
oh yes and if a tankish peep hadn't rolled on the haste item and won i woulda rolled on it just to give it too the highest rolling tankish type a 30percent haste belt should not be rolled on by a shammy that was just pure greed and dont need that in a NGB raid for sure

Spawn please?

After reading all the posts, no one has mentioned where he spawns. Please if you know, post loc here and also how to get him to spawn? Is he triggered like RF is now? Or does he have a ph? Or is he on a week long time spawn? How high should my fire resist be before fighting him? How many people do I need? I am a lvl 58 warrior and planning to do him for my epic soon. Thanks :)And oh yeah, to end all this nonsense on who's gonna get to roll on the CoF. Depending on the type of raid your on, like if it's a pickup raid, everyone would want in on it even pure casters, why? Cause it's worth a heck of a lot of plat.It sells for about 80k on Emarr. If your on a guild raid, depending on how well equpied the tanks are in the guild, it should be rewared to them and then to anyone else who needs it as a upgrade. And a CoF is a definant upgrade to any tank as it's so far the best haste item in the game. And to even things out a bit, I'd definantly want in on a roll on a item that's just for casters only if it's worth a lot of plat even though I'm a warrior. Unless if theres a caster in the group who needs the item as a upgrade then I'd stay out of the roll. That's just how I see things :)

I've heard that he's on a 7-day spawn cycle. Thing is, he's usually dead very soon after he spawns for obvious reasons.

I have a sweet camping spot in Skyfire that is on the middle of the west wall of the zone. When Talendor is up, he frequently walks by this spot, right at the base of the wall.

not sure on spawn rate or time but everytime I have killed him I have tracked him from the druid port in make a left at port in head forward till you come to a curve(the zone line forces you to go right) he has always been in that little vally right there.

get you FR to 100+ unbuffed you want to break 200(or get very close).

I have done him with 20 people(but heard through the grape vine that the Elite guild on my server was having fun and did this guy with 14...not sure about that)

but like all dragons you want *30* more or less depending on how your guild stacks :)

and the Cof has droped 6 out of the 10 times I have been present for this guy

With PoP out it is very easy to kill him with two groups now. I was weary of even trying it with only 12 poeple, but it went without a death, and none of us were even 65 yet. Had a 63 SK tank him and no one there was super uber, we all had decent equipment, but no where close to being the best.
