On Tunare we usually try and hit gore right after we get done with VS/Vsr dont know if anyone else does this
All I can say is Thank God they nerfed MB. My bard had been waiting to get his scale off gore for quite a while.

This happened awhile ago on Sullon Zek.
I was on my way to the bazaar with my Iksar Warrior (I know, horrible choice for pvp)and this was before planes of power so I had to run from Cabilis,LOIO,Frontier Mountains, and the Dreadlands just to get to the bazaar!
All was going fine until I got to Dreadlands and noticed there was 2 other people in zone. I made it through the forest part of DL when one of the two shouted in Lizardman that the other was a PKer. This was a problem!
I thought man this freakin sucks, its 3 in the morning and all I want to do is get to the bazaar and buy me some new gear! I did another /whoall to reveal my evil commrade was gone, leaving me, and this PKer that was probbally 30+ levels above me (only 23 at the time).
This didnt make me stop and camp, no! I kept running! Then this flash of blue light streaks by me and I see this chump with a drum, great a bard now I know im not getting away. I didnt stop running though, I left all my gear in bank so if I got killed, all would be ok, but death still wasnt an option. The bard starts hitting me until im down to 2 bubbles of health, then he backs off and dissappears. Now this usually means hes going to train you so you loose xp.
Heck NO! This sadistic SOB was just sitting on a hill waiting. He was harrasing me with his pressence, mainly because I was powerless, but I kept going! I got to the snowy part of Dreadlands, and he decided I went too far and began his attack again!
I was about to die so I turn to face my opponent and go down fighting like a true iksar! I hit my hotkey and let out my war cry! FEAR THE BLADES OF THE IKSAR!! And as I turn around I see Gorenaire walking over a hill.
I thought to myself, Whoa...(Gore was THE first dragon I ever laid eyes on in EQ, and its pretty magnificent)a dragon! But what happened next blew me away! Gorenaire attacks the bard!
Before the bard knew what hit him he was dust! I watched it all in awe, after it was done I conned Gore, indefferent. I walked closely to Gore and got a screenshot of Gore over the corpse of my foe, did a /kneel and was on my way.
Zoned into bazaar and walked past the Kunark Spire, bard was sitting right there nekkid,
I laughed.

umm it's called faction.. you ***** Ring of Scale faction by hunting in Skyfire.. maybe the bard had been hunting there. And yes, Gore DOES agro on people with bad RoS faction, just like severillious.
And the restriction isn't 5 levels on ANY PvP server.

Hmmmm...here is an idea Minisar..how about you actually learn the rules on a particular PvP server before you open your mouth to tell someone about how they are wrong? I played on SZ for a year and half before I moved to mith marr and finally to test. On SZ there isn't the lvl restriction that there is on RZ (the server I started on 3 1/2 years ago). So unless they recently changed it a lvl 65 wizzy could go into crushbone and kill newbs if he wanted....but BOY would their team lose points FAST =P

Absolutely great story! I wish they had a dragon that would appear for me in South Karana just as the moment something like that happens. It would be poetic justice. /sarcasm on Maybe VI should come with a bracer with "summon lady vox" or some effect like that on it. /sarcasm off. Glad to know you made it out.

They limited the CH on PC's to a maximum of 7500hp. Is this going to work to our advantage and limit the extent to which Gore can heal herself? I am assuming not, but the nerf might serve an advantage in the fight

Feb 12, 2003 - Gore went down easily thanks to help from EPIC HEROES on VAZAELLE server, WITHOUT any casualties from our side, a level 65 Ogre named Welcome was MTing it.
AOE slow landed on me, so did one fear, couple of other spells (probly AOE DD or somethin) i resisted (had CoS on, plus bard resist plus resist disc). Dropped down in about 40-50 seconds.
Dropped 5 different spells (cant remember which ones) plus 2 pouches plus torn frost covered book
Too bad it didnt drop any armor or the belt :(

TWO corrections on the loot drops. Goreinaire dropped two Orbs of Tishan on 2-9-2003 along with the Paladin book, scale, Legacy of Thorn, Trucidation, and a shaman spell that I can't remember. The orbs of Tishan and the Legacy of Thorn druid spells are NOT mentioned in her drop list.

This isn't advice just some thing funny that happened. me and my group were all fighting near KC when all of a sudden everything freezes. No knows what happened so we all believed it was a lag spike and 3 members died. no big deal then right over the hill in front of us GORE shows and scares the crap out of us all. Then she leaves. only me and friend druid alive now out of the party and all other groups around us dead. So what do you do? we both got a drink and talked about GORE for 5 minutes till guildy came to rez party. Afterwards we see Gore again and this time getting attacked byy three groups while we cheer for GORE. She wins first couple battle then reinforcements come to finish her off. Have to say it was a extremely exciting thing to watch

Gores melee range and all dragon melee range is very large, her summon range is even greater than that. That and bards out of all the melee classes have the lowest hps and ac of all. plus even being bard and good resists, there is no way they could resist all of gores aoe's not to mention when she summons you to get beat on.

No, it can be done. I know a bard who regularly kills her and says with very high resists the fight isn't even hard. She doesn't even use the lame exploit that many people used to solo Gore and many of the WW dragons.
With Psalm of Veeshan + epic, this bard claims resists over 400. She says at that point she never gets hit by the AE. She says having someone to heal her makes it easier, but a healer isn't needed.
Plus at 32k hp any mob is a candidate to be solo'd with the right run of luck and gear.

Bards can do some cool stuff, but summoning mobs are the great equalizer for all classes. If one class might stand a chance against Gore, it might be a very high-end level 65 Magician. As long as their pet held aggro and if the mage could chain cast enough pets and had maximum AA weapons to use in the fight (and enough mana), a mage might be able to take down Gore. But that's as long as they didn't get summoned. I highly doubt that any other class could do it. And even a mage soloing Gore would be very spectacular, and still doubtful.

First off, he is lvl 60, TONS of hit points...2nd he CHes, 3rd, he summons...at lvl 64, with best DoTs, and using bashing pet, I would run outta mana trying to kite her because of just the HP and the CHes...if anyone is man/woman enuff to say you can solo her, come show me and prove it.

Yes, she can and as ben soloed. A level 63 ranger on the bertox soloed her the other day, since she can be snared/rooted, all he did was use Tue Shot Disc. Belive it or not, this works.
doubt it, since she summons and cheals herself. no way in hell a ranger soloed gore.
Ever seen a ranger pump out their trueshot disc? If not, then don't speak of things you know nothing about.
she summons... little hard to stay back and shoot her full of arrows when she yanks you over and melees you.

Actually, any of the mobs with very large hitboxes can be hit w/ Archery if are you in the very outer range of melee; just close enough to avoid summon, far enough to shoot. There's also a bow with very low range, and thus can hit most mobs from nearly pointblank.
A ranger on Terris-Thule (a member of Arch of Chaos) soloed Yeldema(sp) in WW. The method was simple. Go melee, with using nothing but JourneyMan's Walking Stick. Land a tash before you do enough damage to cause summon. Camp, come back after you flee. Prepare again, rebuff, and equip Earthcaller. Close to melee, and hope for a quick slow. Once the 50% slow lands, go to max melee, /disc trueshot, and start pummeling arrows. Gore has 32k hp, and shots landing from 1-2k damage will knock her down fairly fast.
I'm not sure if Gore can be soloed like this (as it has never happened), but Yeldema is fairly difficult, so the same possibility exists.

Anyone find this impossible. You need to do 1point to be summoned. And I doubt he can camp out :p
NPCs in general (a few exceptions, perhaps) don't seem to summon if their health is 98% or above. I keep charmed pets around a lot, and breaks usually mean insta-summon if they're hurt. So far 98% has been the magic number for avoiding that scenario.
If Gore follows that rule, it'd take more than a few wacks to get her to summon you about.

Gore casts an Ice based DD/AOE which will also appear as an ice spell icon you. This is the second effect of the spell which is a 75% melee slow. Even with over 340 Cold resist I didnt resist it all the time at level 59. You want a heavy caster raid or group to take her out. The slow lowered our DPS so much that she got off 2 CHeals. We only had 2 wizzys and a few druids, not enough nukes for when the time came. Fight lasted way too long and she got us. The AOE has a large range, I don't see it at all possible that an AM3 ranger could solo her.

One piece of advice, if you see a blue mob moving around on the top of a hill, or in a valley. Don't get closer to see what it is. The agro range is VERY wide, and once you are targeted, you better RUN. I picked up aggro once and made it to zone with 10% life, not fun.

I encountered her as I came out of the tunnel from the port area into dreadlands - she was down the hill a little so I couldn't really see her - next thing I know she hit me with a blast for 750 points - I ran back through the tunnel where I healed myself - she didn't seem to follow or continue casting or attacking in any way. I was there for about 5 minutes so I would say she doesn't follow through there. But if she does agro you and you live like I was lucky to do the first time - zone to clear agro. After healing myself I happily went back into dreadlands to kill some yetis in the cave - I put her up on track and she was in the opposite direction so I figured I was safe - I was definately WRONG!!!! She killed me in the yeti cave after I had been there for about 5 minutes - so she must have quite an agro range once she has agroed a target.

Basically its a contest of how much fire power you can produce before the melee die. However when you start getting equiping some good Wtov /Ntov gears / Lucin and are all 60+ the fights become super trival.

Excellent info, you forgot to mention a few key items tho. I had EVERY piece of resist gear I could muster up, and with bard songs I was at 226 MR and 246 CR. Suprise me, I still got slammed for the full 750 AE cold which is NOT DIRECTIONAL like Ixiblat Fers fire AE, Gores AE hits ANYONE around her, behind her or not. SHe also dispells the first 4 buffs you have , and AE fears, but only did that once. I was unable to land squat on her except my unresistable Insideous Decay. The 55 shaman there actually landed a slow ( not sure which one ) before he bought it too. I made the seemingly smart idea at the time of binding close to the pull spot. I loaded my slow and my heal spell, and first time I tried to slow I got AE'd again ( 750 damage ) and then kicked for like 600. Note that this exceeds my unbuffed, naked hp of roughly 1100. Death #2. So I load up again, this time just waiting for rezzes, when out of nowhere ( Gorenaire wasnt in sight ), I get AE'd and kicked again. 3 Deaths and loss of over 1 yellow at level 56 in less than 1 min. I did manage to BUY rezzes for 2 of my corpses, needless to say I wasnt happy as I never attempt a raid like that unless a 49+ cleric is there to rez me as we all know shamans landing slows get eaten right after chanters Tash. Counting the potions I made for the raid for increased CR, MR and DS, I went 600pp in the hole and still lost 4 blue. I wont metion the raid, we knew it was probably a suicide raid, but to have the clerics bug out afterwards is real low. Glad I didnt spend ALL my money tradeskilling. By the way I think we gor Gorenaire down about 3% before the whole raid died( atleast I was only feared for 2 seconds!! ). She DOES summon too.

Take in consideration your level.
a lvl61 with 200 resists will resist more then a lvl55 with 255.

Resists on this fight seem pointless. With a bard and over 275SvM/C, I never seem to ever resist. /yawn, oh well, even with every melee slowed, she still drops very fast due to her 32k hp.
Try casting within melee range. Your spells will hit more often then. Had a guildmate that was standing under her, and the spells were hitting every time. Also, the AoE goes between the cold based and the magic based resistance. Buff both up as well as possible (Circle of Seasons, Celestrial Chorus, etc). I resisted about half the time with a MR of 245, and CR of 236

oh btw i have seen a shammy bard and pally trio kill gore .
and it takes the average MB group 1 puller (pally with AA horse, or bard) and 4 MB wizzy to kill as most of the time you can average about 7.5-8k damage if you have a damage focus bracer .gore has enough regen that if you burn her for 32k exactly and your burns are more than 3 seconds apart she will live and you have to kill her before she CHes

Thank god they Nurfed MB. 1 person helped MB Gore 4 outa the last 6 pops. While we all had to wait until they where done farming ....

All this is serious listing and need your opinion:
I am debating on soloing this Dragon and need opinion of capability.
Reasoning: I solo Ice Burrowers in Western Wastes no problem. Thes IB's are lvl 61 mobs that have about 25K Hp and have a massive regen capability.
Feasability Items:
-I have Necklace of Superiority. effect is Spell Haste 2. (Cuts casting time of DOTs down)
-I have Bone Clasped Girdle. effect is Extended Affliction 3. Gives 15 percent longer DOT damage in time.
-I will obtain an Extended Range 3 item. (Likely off of A Dread Widow in DL)
Battle Tactics:
-Cast DOTs that have spell cast time 4 seconds or less. (IE Splurt (approx 1600 damg normal without BC Girdle) / Ignite Blood (approx 1200 damg without BC Girdle)
-Deflux Lifetap as needed. (3 second cast 330 Hp lifetap)
-Mana will not be an issue as I have Arch Lich and never fall below 90 percent oing Ice Burrowers
-DMF allows for range / time use of the "Z" factor for hills for longer cast times (IE I have Funeral Pyre 5 second cast time)
-Extended range 3 item should keep me out or very close to beyond AE fear area.
-Gore does not summon.
Any response to this is appreciated. I wish to be a legend of old.

3 AL wizards killed her once.
As for necro-solo... If she can be feared yes... of coarse if fear breaks early or she resists she would summon and quickly eat the kiter...

I know for a fact that Gore summons, I have been summoned by her. So very very unlikely that anyone can solo her.

Can she be feared? That's how a lvl 60 Necro took down Vox solo (before the "banish" nerf), by fear kiting her. Can't cast Complete Heal if she's feared.

mobs over around level 53 are automatically immune to fear, thank you very much verant.. also there are mobs that can still cast even while feared, so even if gore could be feared, she may still cheal..
Not automaticallly immune to fear....but it becomes really hard to land Invoke Fear on them at this level. Thats what the 56 spell Trepidation is for. Its shorter than Invoke, but its nearly unresistable. And as for healing while they are feared....this is only if they begin casting before the fear lands. They will not stop casting a spell if you hit them with fear in the middle of it.

Get 5 Manaburners and a bard for the pulling, pull it to the ice zone in the south part of DL and let them toast the dragon. Bye bye Gore =)

3 manaburners can take gore out
they would all have to crit.. its not going to happen (or it may, but its not likely).
Yes, the 17,000 HP damage quoted in Caster's Realm assumes a Critical, and even with maxed skill, that's only what, a 15% chance?
Two groups of wizzys, all converting themselves into one-shot nukes, would work though.
