does this mob summon? i got 5.5K unbuffed hp (ranger) and i wanted to try and kite solo him even if it takes an hour =)

I felt bad after duo-ing old girl. mostly misses on me at 2.1k, self buffed, 340aa. She missed alot, and mostly tried to cast on me (silly Chanties :P). I kept her busy so me Wizzie bud could drop the real damage. Average hit of 55-140s. A few rounds landed 3-400 and one hit of 517. I completely self-healed, she dropped in under a minute. Shoulda let the Wizzie attempt to solo, but wasn't sure that she wouldn't interupt him from nukage :P

Answers to the basic questions...
Who? - Any level 70 melee with Veteran's Award resist AA can resist the Slow spell and do well. You may need a healer because she can blast for 750 and CHeal herself. The mob is very resistant, but a shaman is excellent help. Level 60s can do with one group. Lower levels will need a small raid force.
What? - Gorenaire, a bluish-white Cleric dragon found in the Dreadlands.
Where? - From the port area, run through the tunnel and face outward into the snow. To track, go forward towards the underground cave between the tunnel exit and the Giant Fort. Gorenaire travels left and right from that spot and you will almost-always find her wandering in the right corner facing out from the tunnel.
When? - Gorenaire is on a 3-day spawn rate and also has a 24-hour random spawn-time from her timer. Therefore, if the server has reset or if it has been exactly 3 days since she was last killed, she can pop randomly at any time within the next 24 hours.
Why? - Gorenaire is usually killed upon sight and ASAP by loot-farmers. She drops about 8 items per kill, with at least 4 of them being level 55-60 spells. Loot includes haste belts and wgt-reduce bags, in addition to epic items.
The horrible thing is that the Bard epic White Dragon Scales are tradeable, which is the real reason players farm this dragon on sight and most players never even know she exists. Bards can save weeks of time simply by farming something else, selling it, and buying the scales.
Additionally, the Paladin epic book is extremely rare (I have never seen it drop in over 15 kills) and usually rots or is destroyed by loot-farmers. For Paladins, this is simply the 'Lottery Ticket from Hell'.

why would ANYone let the Pally book rot?? it IS MQ'able after all.. if you're farming this on Quell and see a book... by all means look me up I have use for it as an MQ

You can only MQ it if you camp the other book and do the combine. Then, of course, you have to find someone desperate enough to pay you a bunch of money to go after a weapon that isn't very good anymore. But, yeah, I hate the thought that it rots or gets destroyed sometimes too.
The original Epics (with a few exceptions, like the Cleric Epic) aren't all that great now but they are useful as a step owards the 1.5 and 2.0 Epics. Yes, you can skip them and take a work-around quest, but some people prefer not to for various reasons.

Say, if it isnt too much trouble, i have a paladin above 52, think anyone on Tholuxe Paells Server, well, since the merge is coming, think anyone from Bert and tholuxe maybe send a tell too Ruineer, my main, and maybe we could raid these guys, both Talendor and Gorenair? I am on Fri's, Sat's, and Sun's. (Days of weeks) Thx =D

Talendor, Severilous, and Gorenaire are ALL on a THREE day spawn timer after they die. AFter a server reset, they will randomly pop within 24 hours. Lady Vox/Lord Nagafen are the ONLY TWO dragons on a SEVEN day spawn timer after they die. However, Vox/Naggy are spawned instantly on a server reset. Hope this helps.

spawned yesterday was killed at 9:00, on the 7th hammer by Avenging Storm by 8 people - 2pallys, a druid , 2 necros, an sk, a bard, an enc, a bst, and a 66 ranger
- kept ranger out of aoe range and used trueshot and downed him pretty fast, when low had both pallys belly stunning him and with necro pets and sk HT was down
- dropped the pally book, runed bolsterbelt and some spells

Wow.. you call that ranting? Don't feel bad Dank, everquest is full of noobs playing level 69 toons. It's posts like his that let you know who's been playing long enough to learn more then the tutorial has to offer.

Guess no one pays attention to the comment. He is looking for where it spawns and if anyone has seen him. Well first of all, IT is NOT Faydedar, it's Gorenaire. Second, I have seen him/her roaming in the snow right below the cave that goes to the teleport rings. When I seen last, well that was over 6month ago. Now a post below me says recient. So, I would imagine that since it's a bard epic mob, that it should still spawn, and when I seen it, there were about 15ppl in zone, killing mobs. So my guess is that there has to be a certain number of mobs dead in zone before it pops. If you sat for 4 weeks and did not see him/her, then maybe sitting does not work and you need to kill mobs.

Saw her today tromping around Dreadlands so she still spawns.
All the Kunark dragons die fast except perhaps Trakanon who isn't as obvious when he pops.

Faydedar does indeed still spawn a few of us killed him a few days ago
just duoed her with a 70 mage i,m a 65 shammy ep geared and some omens summoned pets gave em weaps buffed em up and just send em in couldn,t get her slowed so just healed pet tanked fine summoned aa pets also 5 of mine and 9 of him she went down in like 6 mins np

You probably couldn't get her slowed because you weren't in melee range. Almost all Kunark dragons are "belly-casters."

Ok, some say 3 day spawn - some say 7. Does anyone actually know? Also, where does she spawn, from the pic I'm guessing in the ice - LOL. But does anyone have an actual location. I really don't care if she's soloable or not - or by how many twinked characters.
Picture a little lvl 40 druid strolling through a zone with invis on. Now picture him see something over the horizon. Now, if you can, picture a HUGE dragon turn aorund and look at you. Ok, JFYI on resists.
65 Bard here, while kiting Gore around for about an hour yesterday waiting for party to form, I was subject to many of Gore's wonderful spells.
With MR 260 and CR 288 Gore was able to land her Freeze about 80% of the time, Reckoning about 70% of time for around 300dmg, and never was feared.
I mixed in Amp song with Psalm of Veeshan, got my MR336 and CR364. Resists on Freeze was 100%, Fear 100%, and Reckoning was 95% with max hit around 120.
Hope some of this helps all who wonder why you still get hit when you meet the (-150)CR requirement for her Freeze.

If you don't have the ability to kill a mob please be respectful and leave the mob alone incase anyone else who does have that ability is there. I see so much of that behavior in EQ that after all these years it depresses me that people still act like that.
He engaged the mob and took a chance. It IS possible that gore could have killed him. Boy then wouldn't he have felt stupid.
If SOE had set up this game different, then people wouldn't have to resort to things like this for epic dropping mobs.

Assuming there is a 7 day spawn time which seems to be the general opinion, can anyone provide what day and approximate time that Gore spawns. Been looking for Gore regularly on Bertox and have not yet had any success.

that would sorta depend on when the last time she was killed was, and every patch will respawn her, etc.... theres no good way to keep track really, just send a ranger into DL once in a while to see if shes up

I am 65 necromancer, while im not time flagged, i do have over 6khp buffed, and FT12, and lots of regen, i was bored the other night, and decided to see if gore was up, found her and decided to try killing her, fight was lot harder than i thought, my biggest problem was getting spells to lad without her beatting me and interrupting cast, unslowed her 550 hits tend to take their toll if u combine with 750 DD she can put out some dmg, i had 363CR during the fight, and it didnt help much, her AE landed bout 60 % of the time, i got her to 47 % when i died, i am pretty sure i can kill her, but was called off to raid by guild and never got a chance, i also have rare Drogmor thats same speed as Seru/Emp horse, and it helped to keep ahead of her. hope this info helps somehow.
