This named giant can be found at the fort with others of his type. The tree weave is an excellent chest piece for Druids, Shamen and even some tank classes.

It appears leather when worn.

Kill Gorgul today as we were working on the fort. Was me(lvl 43 War), lvl 43 clr and lvl 41 mnk initially, with the monk pulling, and he pulled this guy who was red to everyone. The monk and I took to rumbling with this guy while the cleric healed of course as hit was hitting for 130-160, and occasionally DDing him as well. We had a lvl 46 mage on the way from PoK that was joining our group, and he finally arrived about halfway through the fight to assist with his DDs and pet, the fight went a lot better after that. Sadly though, he only dropped some gold and an Opal:(

Now quads for 478, wasted both my 60 wizard and 53 necro in the blink of an eye, unmezzable, unslowable, unstunnable, unsnareable... resists through the roof... he's definately the one to look for if you ever feel to get yourself rezzed. Pretty sure this has to do with the 6th anniversary... he is also available as a fabled version... apparently Sony didn't just beef up the fableds, but the normal versions as well to prevent farming... good luck out there.

edit :

Turned it the mob in question was indeed the Fabled version, but it had no "Fabled" prepended to its name. Dropped the Fabled Forest Loop to confirm it, which is now in my posession. Sloppy sloppy Sony...

I killed the non-fabled version this morning with my level 44 Nec. Was an easy fight. Just dropped Darkness and a few DoTs, let him die down a little to build aggro, then sicced my pet for extra DPS and ran him around under the Giant Fort. Nice exp (about 10% regular at 44 with double exp veteran ability).

I killed this guy last night (49 bard) for about the 50th time. He's a piece of cake especially for a bard. Anyways, he dropped some loot not listed here. Forest Loop. Got me another one of these babies and im now 300 plat richer. O, this is a great place to level with pretty decent plat. I'm saving up for a TDoK (Thunerous Drum of Karana) and I am about 3k away. I am making around 250 - 300 plat in an hour here and almost 2 yellow xp.

Me and a freind took this guy down the other day. He was pretty easy if you ask me. He has less HP then the Patriarchs in the dreadlands. He dropped a mithrail amulet that was worth 99 pp or so and an opal.

You don't have to be uber to take this guy down easily.
52nd DE SK in full Crustacean using a Weighty Polearm (with SCHW's)soloed easily using only 50m.

This camp is a great solo spot, even better if you got a single hunting partner to just speed things up a bit. SK & a mid40+ hunting partner can take this place fast enough to clear camp in time for re-pops.

Generally agree with this board, in that his most common spawn point is on the ramp outside, but I have seen him pop many times inside the fort.

Ignore the mob hierarchy in this place at your peril.

This place can be soloed by a 50SK with ease and single pulling is possible 99% of the time. The other 1% is the rare occasion that you get unlucky pulling out of the fort only to find a re-pop waiting on the ramp...

This may sicken a few people here, but I sell my Tree Weaves for 42pp to Bazaar Vendors. They're not that uber and I can't be bothered setting up a trader to sell them.

charmed him 7 times and killed the 7 giants in the fort. Then killed him. Total time - 9 mins. The group dropped 3 words, a leg chopper and an opal. In a post below, there was someone grouped with a bard to take down this giant. The bard was just being nice to allow you to get some exp.

ok to clear things up a 49 necro can solo this guy farely easily just cascading darkness to pull sick pet then invoke fear. cast lich and med recast invoke and snare as needed. i have fought here since 44 solo since 47 not a hard zone to fight...can take out whole fort at 51 solo nice to have a druid to hunt with incase you catch ramp spawn pulling giants from fort at 51 with 193 in it takes 100m for arbors, 2/3 buble of mana for verds, 1bub mana for ancients and a 1-2 for named....doesn't count mana gained back while lich medding

i solod him at 51 with a bst lord, took all my mana and had to slow 3 times near the end i had to jump in and melee as beast lords fizzle too damn much (about 33% for the class) even with maxed skills, ive also killed him with a mage that was 51 at the time too took us like a min to drop him with two pets couple nukes and slow, trick there is to keep agro on the bst lord pet who has a better heal, we then whipped out the whole fort including the other named, and started pulling wurms till the repop

edit** in total ive killed him about 10-15 times solo now and no treewave all i get is the ever 00ber opal =/

Tonight in BW I joined with a 52 bard, her alt, 51 rogue, and myself a 52 cleric. Bard would charm Gorgul and have him kill any adds, then fear and snare Gorgul while her rogue would back stab. I stood on the side and healed when charm dropped and nuked when mana permitted. Outta 4-5 kills, he dropped the tree weave once, I don't know how long she was soloing him herself before I got there, but I was glad she got it.
Gorgul
# Apr 10 2002 at 5:55 AM Rating: Default
I killed Gorgul twice. The first time he dropped an opal, and he dropped the tree weave on my second kill. He spawned quickly -- probably less than an hour and he was up for the second time. I DID track him inside the fort on one occasion, so he can pop inside.

# Mar 04 2002 at 12:40 AM Rating: Default
I was hunting the Mountain Giant Patriach last night for the Giant Monocale and ended up killing him 4 times in an hour without getting the monocale, but he did drop a Treeweave on the very last kill(until then it had only been opals and Weighted Axes). Maybe him dropping this is new? It was weird, as every time he popped he had only about 3/4th health, including the first time we showed up(The first time I just assumed someone else had recently fought him and lost).
Easy
# Feb 25 2002 at 9:25 AM Rating: Default
Best way of killing this guy is to take a SK and a Necro. Let SK pull with dark then send in pet Necro fears and put on 2 dots (BoD and EBolt 2K dmg in 50sec) And just keep him Darked and feared. No problem at all! We have done this 10 times. Only got 1 kill of the SK because someone traint him on us and i Necro was OOM and SK could not FD. We killed him like 10 times now and got 1 Tree Weave. BTW or lvl were both 52!

me 52 shammy, and 50 druid took this guys out I was 40-60 m when pulled. anyways was long battle I only used 1 dot and druid used clickable only and clickable root. was long battle but he went down has a little more hp the the ancients and resists little on the poison based spells. resist root a little and druid said resisted on fire spells and some snares. jsut some fyi we only killed him 1 time and droped opal only. was there for about 1 horu and he popped 1 time.

Myself and Ganbik slapped this dude down today. First time I have seen him. Popped as a ramp guard. I was at about 70m when he popped. Hit him with Cascading Darkness, dropped Splurt on him as I was pulling him from the ramp to the back side of the fort. Sent in Gabtik, Feared him (one resist) feared again then slapped Ignite Blood and Ebolt on him, resisted Plague. Had to recast Darkness once and fear twice, he must have been lvl 50. OoM at the end of the battle.
When he toppled I looted him and got the TW right off the bat. =) Guess it's time to twink up Notgonnaportya, my Druid.

had to give it up cuz had one on already though oh well good (lvl 56 sk that time i soloed him np)twice

We've been camping old Gorgul for about a week straight now, about five hours a night or so (the giants are nice exp) - Gorgul almost always (always?) spawns as a guard out front. When I track, he never shows up inside, so far anyway. But for the 10 or so times we've dropped him, he has not in turn dropped the tree weave.

What's the drop rate on this fine armor? Anybody know? When I ask in OOC's or guild, I get a range of answers. Everything from 1 in 10 to 1 in 50 (which would make this a *hell* of a camp considering old Gorgul pops about once an hour or so)...

Just wondering if anyone knows for sure-ish.

We've been camping for about a week, about five hours a night - he's never popped anywhere but right out front, so far. Usually on the right (if you're facing the fort) side. He's basically a timed spawn I think, and he does so anywhere between a half hour to an hour. Once or twice he spawned twice in a row, so.... I don't think there's a ph for him anyway. We just slaughter giants left and right and eventually he pops.

Have soloed him 4 times now, all as a 51 dr00d. First time he resisted 3 snares but bit on the fourth, and broke 3-4 roots, resisting one. It took 10 Drifting Deaths to take him out, medding as he was rooted, and by the end had to resnare and kite him a bit to med enough to get off last dot....other times he was a bit easier, but still ate all of my mana(and the same 10 Drifting Deaths)...Ive since hit 52, and cant wait to try Breathe of Ro on him with DD stacked; should be alot easier.

Oh, and guess what...looted 4 opals and NO treeweave...whoopdie do!!

Very soloable solo to necromancers. I was 49 at the time, he conned yellow so he was 50(didn't summon). I was luckily at 95% mana when he popped and I pulled with Dooming Darkness, feared, then sent in pet. I just renewed darkness and fear when needed and ended the fight with about 25% mana(medding while pet was doing the dirty work) His resist are kinda high so a partner would be best for taking him. I've killed about 10 Gorguls and no tree weave.

Figures. Some Druid trained a full health Giant on us though and zoned. just kept him rooted and worked this fella. Gotta watch them Druids though, they good for about 3 things. Sow's, TP's and TRAINS.

Good luck

I'm a 48 Necro, and I was with a 48 warrior and a 49 shaman. He was lvl 50, cuz he conned yellow to the 49 in our group. He wasn't too bad at all, just stack up the DOTs keep darked and feared and let the pets whack on him. The only problem was the 3 other Forest Giants that some guy accidently trained on us. This was such an insane battle. I had to Feign Death twice to clear aggroes. I was trying to keep em all feared so we could focus on the one we wanted (poor excuse for chanter, I know). A lvl 51 Dr00d eventually jumped and took a couple off our hands. That was definitely the most fun I had hunting last night.
