There are several posts arguing about guards assisting Tol or not. Tol "the librarian" in Erudin will NOT be assisted by the guards. Tol in Qeynos WILL get an assist from guards, even if the guards normally like you. So, know your Tol, and know if he is safe )

Zoned from Qeynos to Qeynos Hills and he was right in front of me, screaming how much he hates necros. There's Guard Nash, who cons to me as an ally, beating me silly in like 3 whacks.

I had Tol whittled down enough to where he started the walk. Things were going fine, me strolling along behind him thwacking him over the head with my morning star when he then gets near the big pool by the palace entrace. Out of the blue comes some sword weilding knave that X's me in just a couple of hits. Cant remember his name, but if ol'Tol gets near that pool I would advise that you beat feet back to the The Tox zone and wait to see if he brings help when he gathers his wits and comes charging back in. My AC sucks and I dont have a slew of HP cause I'm a druid(20) but that cat that buddies up with Tol is noone you want to dance with if your at a level where Tol is giving decent exp.

I am A Dark Elf chanter and I like to beat Tol Down everytime I need a little pocket changer in dozens of attacks, guards have NEVER helped him. And BTW he likes to follow thepaths when chasing you making for an easy kite

As stated above, the faction decreases with both the Deepwater Knights and the High Council of Erudin while it increases with Heretics. After killing him once, I saw a change in several places. Basically, I get "glowers dubiously" from the Paladin Guild (Deepwater Knights) and with everyone in the caster guilds in Erudin Palace. They had been apprehensive. I assume I will be KOS shortly since I have killed this fellow about a dozen times so far. However, I am (as always before) still "apprehensive" with all of the guards and general townsfolk in Erudin. As a follower of Quellious, I am still viewed "warmly" by all in Quellious' temple. Oddly enough, there is at least one wandering Paladin by whom I am also viewed "warmly". I am wondering though, if I kill him enough, will this good Monk be able to bank in Paineel? We'll see...

There's a much simpler means to bank in Paineel... just kill about 1000 kobolds in the Warrens. It'll actually raise your faction with Erudin as well, as opposed to destroying it. The Warrens is evil, the kobolds have a 5 min spawn time.

duh, of course if you are an iksar the guards will attack you, i think most guards will attack if they dont like you. but if they like you, they just watch you beat tol down

I am an iksar, trust me, they attack if they don't like you to begin with, as for grouping to kill him, I can solo/kite him a level 17, and now that I am 19 look forward to going back to kill him again.

your on crack, ive been killing tol with every char of mine since june of the first year eq came out, and i have NEVER been attacked by the guards. if your stupid and tol can make it to one of the paladin npcs in erudin they help, but not everyday guards, and you gotta be one hell of a dolt to let him get all the way from the exit of erudin to the front of erudin without killing him. tol is very safe to kill unless your an idiot or you got bad faction (threateningly, or scowls) with the guards.

Nicelot is a very good exp for lower lvls like 17-22. You should be in a group if you are that lvl. He drops up to 9pp and has lay hand. The guards don't attack you or anything. happy killing.

I killed this guy once in Erudin, I got 7 plats, 8 gold off of him in one loot. That's it (which ain't bad at all). :)

When you kill him you get the following factions: Heretics+, High Council of Erudin -, DeepwaterKnights -. maybe also the Gemcutters or whatever they are called.

He also pops up in the Qeynos Hills. Anyone know what quest he gives? Or for that matter, what you get if you kill him?
