The level has to be wrong. It's funny, but I was in on a 66 chanter this morning and was able to DC this. DC caps at 46, but she was lt blue to me, which I believe is wrong. Should be green to a 66.

Oh, and based on my 1100pt nuke doing 10% of her health, she's got about 11000 hps, which nakes her ideal.

Killed her last nite as 46 pally with a 45 shaman(good duo btw). hit me immediately with a 611 harm touch. also got feared twice, has a lot of hps and probably taps, resisted a lot, especially roots. took all shammys mana and a LOH by me, but we did it. ooc'd the thyxl drop, and a thankful wizzy picked it up, free loot for him, fun fight though.

When I was on my 34 Enchanter, I zoned into DL to see if I could get some nice exp! Little did I know that the dread widow likes to wait at the FV zone! I quickly zoned back to FV and was about to log on my 65 monk, when I did a ctrl+w (which lists everyone in the zone). I saw there was a 65 ranger in the zone, so I sent a tell to him asking if he would kill this spider for me. He said he would and then we grouped up and zoned into DL. We both invised and then he tracked the spider. It was over by the spider webs on the mountainside. He started killing it and it took about 3 minutes. It must have had a ton of HP! Then he killed the pet and that took ... 5 seconds. I looted the spider and there was my prescious little ER3 item! I said TY and went along my merry little way.

There's my I hope you have use for it.

I fought this mob for a while with a 51 WAR. Actually zoned 3 times before killing the mob. First time, mob had pet up and DS on, had to use the 2HB weapon, kited with bow for a while, then zoned. Sat down and healed (new sit and heal rules help). Went back in mob has up to 95% health, no pet but DS still on. Go beat up and zoned, healed and went back. This time mob at 80% health, no DS, switch back to 2x 1HS, zoned at 13% health with mob at 20%, sit heal, when returned mob at 65%, killed it this time. Dropped 2x silks and ERIII item, OOC'd it. For the record I had 4600hp and AC 1050, all buffed up, got feared 3 times. Tough mob, but a bored persistent lvl 51 warrior can take it down.

Well today my group found this little thing wandering around, noticed it conned red to most of us, and decided we were up for a challenge, this thing is super magic resistant, as a lvl 40 wizard the most i could get any nuke to land for was 117 damage, and most were resisted completely, and root was also impossible, but uckily we had a lvl 50 ranger in the group and the tanks were just able to H2H her dead with lots of help from the cleric, would have been impossible without the 50 ranger, not good for casters to take on solo, unless they are much higher level.

I spent about an hour today clearing all three spider spawn areas until she popped (I went there to give a shot at taking her down).

The first time I didn't do it properly, she feared me, and brought adds. My pet and myself went down in about a minute.

I came back for vengeance, and this time did it intelligently.. Screaming Terror on her spawn mate to pull her, pet on her, fear her pet, and then do the usual Dooming Darkness / Fear / Bond of Death / Ignite Blood routine. Both times fear wore off, she didn't bother casting and came straight at me (ignoring my pet). Refearing twice, and it was over. Easy.

I wouldn't do it before 49th level as a necro, but if you're smart in pulling her (and pulling her to an area where she won't fear through the other spiders and bring their wrath down upon you) it's simply done.

yellow to 49 nec, i met her at 3/4 hp right after she killed a 47 wiz =\. not too hard with fm but had about 5k hp left in her. didnt see any HT but maybe the wiz took it :o

I just solo'd this mob a little while ago. It was a total butt whoopin but I can see how this mob could be tough at lower lvls. She just happened to be at the FV tunnel when I was passing through so I darkened her and feared her and began to whack away on her. She has quite a few hp's but I didn't give her any chances to dot me up. I darkened her 3 times and feared her 5 times. The dot from narandi's helped a good bit too. An enchanter guildmate of mine came and helped me finish her off. I could have done it myself but I was glad he was around to loot the caster item. She was still dark blue to me at 58 though.

Yep, she had a pet tonite (not sure on lvl). Me and my group we're pulling from Ruin 1, when all of the sudden I notice the name of this mob, not a normal mob, so I con her and she's even to me at 47. This fight would have been VERY easy if we didn't have the 3 additional adds. I have no idea how the 3 adds came to be, but we adapted and overcame. Throughout all this our Cleric went LD, our mid 40's Bard died (and what a great job of charming teh adds and turning em against her), and another member ran =\, so Me, a mid 40's Pally and a mid 40's Necro dealt with her and 2 additional mobs. I did my best to Fear the adds away, so we could deal with the Dread Widow. Good thing, we got done with her and dealt with the other 2, after all I had 1 bub of health left. Since the Necro was the only pure caster in the group it defaulted to her. Very cool for a night of "normal" leveling.

Am a 51 mage. Came out of the FV tunnel, took a left turn and wandered over by the first drachnid webs and saw the Dread Widow. Sent vocerate earth pet in, got adds, gated back to FV tunnel. Repeated 3 more times, adds every time dang it. Sixth try Widow was still down to half hps and killed it oom after using a mod rod and pet down to the barest sliver of hps. Neither I nor pet was ever feared, luckily..don't try using a monster summoning 2 pet though, it ignored the pet and constantly beat on me :)
Item well worth the hour or so I spent trying to get it...

Last night I was grouping at north wall with a party of 5 (we were all under 45). Our druid realized that there is a Dread Widow on track. We didn't care about it since we were fighting other mobs. After a few more fights, we told the druid to go pull the widow since we were all itch about this named mob... About ten mins later, he pulled back the widow with only 1 bub of HP left. Our Cleric healed him immediately while our pallys jumped on the widwo. We realized that the widow had only 1/3 HP left and our druid said he waited there for a least 5 mins before pulling. So we assumed the widow had wiped out a party already (or zoned). The widow hit vert hard and almost made our cleric go oom. As a 43 wizzy, I first nuked it with lightning shock but got a total resiste. Then I switched to ice shock because I had my SoTF =) The widow went down after 5 full land nukes and I got thyxl since I was the only caster in the group...

Once again, we were just lucky....

The Dread Widow Spawned at the enterance tunnel to DL (from FV). Got a group w/ 55 shaman, 51 Paly, 44 warrior, and myself 41 warrior. It took five minutes but we took her down with little difficulty. The shaman slowed her down, while we stomped on her. No one was harm touched, but then again she took out at least one group before we got to her. She dropped her item, but unfortunately no one could use it. We got someone to come and get it, but the corpse rotted to quick. Seemed like it was an awefully fast corpse rot.

I was just in DL the other night fighting with some guys near FM zone. We were at the time killing just pulled things at the time, we were a 54 Pally, 45 pally, and a 47 mage (me). Some guy comes running by followed by a few drachs and the dread widow. I'm medding and one of the extra drachs aggroes on me, we kill her pretty easy but then the dread aggroes on my group. Tanks immediately get up there and start wacking at it along with my pet while I do that dd thing I do. the 595 damage does minimal damage on her so we know she's got a lot of hp. At one point in the battle the 54 pally gets feared and goes LD so it's just me and the 45 pally. Pet gets killed next and the pally gets to use his LOH. when she's like a 3/4 of the way dead we ask the 49 mage next to us for help and his pet starts attacking and he's blasting. We finally take her down only to discover that the thyxl on her is a crappy version with only 1ac and 1int. felt ripped off and petitioned but were told it has multiple types that it drops. At least I got to help on the dread widow.

Yeah she's about lvl 49 or so my group got trained by her and we were lucky enough to take her down. But she does cast fear like crazy which almost single handidly killed my group. She was a mean one i must admit even though are group was a 42ish we still did ok. But it was funny because some high monk had to help finish her off because we had all been feared all over DL it was hilarious!

Well of caz necro can solo it, here's my story. When Kunark was just released I was browsing at DL with my 51 nec. I camped at the webs caz I was working on my tailoring (need bulk of silks) and it gave me steady exp. The spider lady spawned after some hrs. Though I noticed that she's a named but I thought she's just another druid so I just send in the pet w 4b hp and doh she HT me, with another melee I died in seconds(That was almost 700+ HT). And then I decided to take my revenge on her. This time I was fully prepared with skin fh fm pet and she went back to the spawn sequence crying very shortly what can I say fear+darkness+pet=necro rules_when_sit&chat. But to a 51 wiz I think you'd better get 1 more companion with you.

Ok, last night a couple of rangers say they have her on track but can't see her. So I wander over to where they are at and it's on the SE corner of KC. I'm figuring she is either on top of KC or the pillars right there. So I mem up gravity flux and cast it on my self to see if I can get high enough to target her. So I'm already and cast it on myself....hehehe here is where it goes bad. My damage from the spell was about 380, then she starts hiting me for 80's, thenI am gripped in agony for 581. It seems that she had spawned under the platform so when I cast my AoE spell it hit her and that's how she killed me. Totally freaked out the rangers to see me die in mid-air. The GM thought it was pretty funny and rezzed me and then gave me and the two rangers stacks of Gnome sandwichs and beer. Moral of the story: Don't always look up for the MOB you may be standing on it.

hehe our group in DL at se ruins accidently pulled this. we had 2 clerics in group and the rogue's 56 cleric sittin with us logged on other computer. other than the 2 clerics the group was me (44 ranger at the time) 41 rogue (and his 56 cleric)those r the only ppl i really remember cuz group disbanded (mostly) and me and the rogue stayed together for a bit. we might have had one other tank though. anyway the dread widow was beatin us down so the rogue kept auto attack on and went to his other computer to get the widow to agro his 56 cleric. amazingly the dread widow stayed agroed on the cleric the whole fight even though he was only hittin in late teens early 20s. and the dread widow rarely hit the cleric cuz he had huge ac. with 3 early to mid 40 tanks hitting it and gettin a nice bs every now and then from the rogue we took her down in a few mins hehe

Heh, met her at level 27 with about 650 hp, I think she hit me once for 20 damage and then her harm touch finished me off. If i remenber correctly it did about 641 damage to me, so no way that formula for harm touch damage can be correct. I'm just waiting until I'm high enough level to take her down, 35 now..... just waiting and waiting until I hit 50....

Took her down twice this weekend while at a lan party. The first time we found her there was a 45 rng, 41 enc, 47 clr, 38 dru, and myself (48 sk). That fight was rather quick. The second time it was just the cleric, the enchanter and myself. We made the fight last about 20 mins so that my Enchanter friend could move his Wizard over from Guk to loot it =) just kinda funny. Each time we fought here she appeared near the tunnel to FM.

Today i was in a group with 45 War 44 War 41War 46 chanter 42 cleric and 43 druid she just rushed us i the 41 war dropped pet easy then it took about 4 to 5 minutes of straight beating and some nukes wasted 3 bubs of stam but got dropped pretty easy hella hp but hella exp got me 2 blues off her we got the Drachnid Thyxl chanter was happy and was my first lvl 49 i dropped

Here's what happened with my adventure with the ho. Took me 3 days of coming to finally get her to pop of about 7 hours total between the 3 days (lucky me the day I got it was when I had 1.5 hours - lol)

I'm a 57th Enc with non plane gear but have all my spells up to 58 & quite a few mana items on, prob around 400 with 212int. I was sitting right inbetween all 3 webs. If I'm FM when I start I can kill all spawns one after another up to 12 before I have to med. Reason is I used my animation, lvl 55 one (quads 54 after I give it a daggar or gnoll lariat). I give it resist magic, umbra (ac) & AQ (very good speed) I meself have all buffs that I can do & Jboots. I had just come back from the wall as I had slaughtered the previous round of spiders when I got 2 steeps & had to rest in safe area, during this time a Dru gave me SLN - so I had about 200 more hps than normal. When I got back full pops. So I go back inbetween 3 webs again & in a little med time DW pops - so I do the following;

-cast damage shield on animation
-illusion iksar for regen on me
-cast berserker str = dmg absorb (not rune - the regeant free one) on both meself & animation.
-80m & I cast high dmg dd (645dmg) on its skeleton pet - kill it in one shot & the DW comes right at me & I must say it seemed to come faster than sow - but not sure - I think I had the very high lvl one as it hit me range from 50-120 & HT for what appears to be 500-600dmg - near half my hps.
-400 mana drain
-cast tashanian on it
-70% atk slow debuff
-950 DoT/wis & int debuff
-700 DoT/str & agi debuff
-berserker str on me & animation as req'd to keep me & animation alive
-target 8 sec stun/mana drain
-during all of this I had 90% agro & I kept backing up the mountain side to avoid adds (I can dazzle I know - but didn't want the chance :-P)
-due to the agro I kept getting & animation not getting hit hardly at all I stunned it once & mem root & rooted it so I could mem some
-mana drained it 2 more times again & put the 2 DoT's on it again.
-did the DoT's twice each & dmg absorbs & about half way I did about 6 DD's, this wasn't the best as I was then lom & getting hurt & couldn't berserker str, but I did get a root off & was able to med a bit. Near end I had to take some more hits to allow animation to survive - I knew if it died - I would die. At a sliver of health it started to run, so with last remaining mana I had, I put dmg absorb on animation & rooted it & then put me high DoT on it once again, & then sat down & watched it waiting for it to die.

DW is a very tough ho & got both me & me animation down to 1 bub hps each. Without casting my dmg absorb I have no idea how I would've done it. I wasn't going to kite it without a snare & besides kiting is for wimps :-P
But I got the thyxl in the end & now have it just for looks - lol. Some have said it has 10k hps - the one I fought seemed to have alot more then that considering an average hit from me animation is 35 every second (which is what it does) I calculated in 5 mins it took me to kill it - animation did 10k then add my 4k in DoTs & 3k for me DD's - not sure if it healed itself or not - but I'm guessing mine had 15k at least.

Anyways, wanted to show it can be done with an Enc & no healer solo.
