Raster of Guk  

Just killed Raster. He no longer will accept the minotaur horn, not certain about the torch. A patch a few days ago said NPCs will return certain items given to them that they don't need, so I think this is a consequence.

Good luck w/ him. I got him after three hours. Probably going to take a week to get Targin now.

I was lucky and got the Raser on third spawn (PH/raster) for those that dont know it yet best way to camp raster is as follows:

5am - Spawn. Leave this one to despawn, unless it is Raster obviously.
8am - Despawn.
10am - Respawn. Kill this PH
7 to 8pm - Spawn. Also kill this PH

This method ensures 3 PH's per EQ day.

I just killed Raster after a 27 hour camp. I think that I could have gotten him sooner if a train had not killed me and messed up the spawn cycle. My advice to you is to go to www.monklybusiness.com and look up the quest. They tell you the way to time the PH kill cycle to get the maximum amount of chances that Raster will pop.

This camp is garbage... hours and hours and hours and hours wasted... I really want the dang robe... but I think this Raster fella is a damn myth lol.

This is a common misconception. EQAtlas has it all wrong. Raster does NOT spawn in the Mino Edler room!!!! he is extremely close, but not in the mino room. I have saw monks spend hours in that pit only to find that they have been camping the wrong spot. Go up the stairs and hang a right, you'll see a mino/froglok/raster standing right next to the pot. Dont kill him between 5am and 10am, dont know why that is, i just hear it a lot. I know many people reading this post already know this info, but to people new to monks, and looking at EQAtlas, that map is very deceptive. (although i do gotta give a lot of props to muse, you've saved my *** many of times.)

O.K. i only "triggered" him 3 times so it is not nessecarily 100%, but wht i did was killed Hasten in RM and within 5 mins Raster was up. need 2 groups or 2 people one to kill Hasten and one to keep Raster spawn clear. I did this three times so it is worth a shot :)

I recently finished my RotLC quest, and count myself quite lucky with Raster. I camped him in 3 camps of 6 hours each (approximately), and got Raster in my 17-18th hour of camping. Woot!

Here's something I noticed though, and was wondering if anyone else saw this, or if someone will check for this while they camp him:
Raster's PH was a frog, and he was killed at 10am. When the room began to respawn later, every spawn was a frog. After clearing them, Raster spawned at 8pm (all EQ times - yes, I used Bodi's guide).

My question is this: Are the frog PHs associated with the Raster spawn, or was it just a random fluke that this happened? I know there's always a chance of a frog spawning, but I thought it was interesting that every spawn was a frog before Raster.

Has this happened to anyone else, or am I being overly superstitious?

Hey, I'm planning to camp this guy soon, and I just wanted to know something, I have really good faction with live frogs (not kos is really good.. I guess) and wanted to know if I attacked the raster would the minos or frogs help him?

One of the benefits of the FV is that you can buy mostly any item (no no drop except epics and newbie notes). I f anyone on the FV server comes across raster and gets his idol I will pay extremely well for saving me from wasting much time. My monks name is Alazard you can send me a tell in game if you have one for sale.

No Helpful info here, just another tale of another monks harrowing experience at the Raster camp. I was here 1 month, camping about 60 hours total, and I gained 6, count em, 6 levels killing the minotuars that spawned in the elder room, including 40 and 45. I was ok for the first two weeks, i snapped during the third, moaning in pain over ooc, with all the freny and magi campers telling me to shut up. In the 4th week, i was just bubbly and laughing, my rage subciding into quiet obsession. And then, 3 hours into a new camp, there he was, scowling and ready to attack me. I blurbled happily and started breathing heavily, and fded behind him and put on sneak. I got up and gave him a minotuar horn to destroy his duel wielding capabilities, and kicked his ***! I looted the idol and put a message on over /ooc about me cackling maddly as i drug him around by his entrails and smeared the walls with his blood, many laughs and EWWWWWWs from the populous at large. And now i sit in Rathe mountains, killing the drake, M the unkepmt, and Hasten when they pop, waiting for Bro Z to spawn. So close to my robe! So close!

I'm at my 35th hour on this guy, and I'm still sane! w00t! I started camping here at 40(nope, no fungi tunic) and am 43 now with the spawns in the mino room alone. I normally think well of Verant, but if i get to 45 before his spawn I WILL become a VI hater, because 5 levels at a quest camp I can hold down solo is just stupid. Also I'm not sure why this happened...but right as it was nearing the 10 AM spawn time, a mob spawned. It had a red name tag that said Raster, not Raster of Guk, just Raster. It was being controlled by a player or a GM because it just looked around and ran off down a tunnel. I freaked and ran after the thing, but he sat down and camped right as i got near him...probably didnt have the idol, but I'm still ticked about it.

I just logged of from my 27th hour of this camp i came here at 48 and half little twinked the minos are easy bearly take me down a half bub of life if i fight them single. I am now 49 half lvls strong and no sigh of this guy I hope i do not become one of the 100+ hours statistic and for all of you who got him in less than 10 hours GRATZ. I might go insane soon camp this guy at 45 if a twink if not wait till about 47 so you still get some good exp all the minos are light blue to me now. I hope to get him before i hit 50 lvl wish me luck
