raster of guk has a 5% chance to spawn. There is no magic spawning technique or any tricks to speed up the process. You just have to get lucky.

Also, I did this with an untwinked 35 monk and a cleric mercenary. I had started a monk on a new server just to play around with.
Now, when I say untwinked, he does have some rough defiant gear which he got along the way and it's pretty powerful. But he's still wearing his guild shirt.

I'm a casual player and don't really have much time to play EQ, but I still enjoy it quite a bit. I started a monk on a new server and at around 35 was camping for the Code of Zan Fi and the Idol from Raster. I used the same method on both:
1.) Pick up a Cleric Mercenary to help out with the adds.
2.) Make a hotkey that does:
/target raster ---or--- /target targin
/consider
3.) I also included in my hotkey training for mend since I didn't have that maxed.
4.) Feign Death at the feet of the spawn point.
5.) Create an audio trigger on the word "raster" or "targin" depending on your camp. I used Alert5 because it dings.
5.) Use a game pad to repeat the key while you watch TV or do other things. I caught up on some work on another computer while I waited for them to spawn.
6.) When they spawn your computer will start dinging and you can pop the cleric mercenary out, let him buff and then stand up.
This will take longer overall to get your items since you're only getting one spawn per EQ day, but it will let you do it passively.

There are some upsides to having less and less players in old world zones, camps are VERY open. I am a 52 monk, fought and FD my way to the spawn room. Fell in the pit, cleared out everything, then checked the posts. The spawn went through 5A despawn, 9A kill, 7P kill. I did it for only 3 hours then camped.
I logged back in to camp Raster the next morning:
11pm killed
nothing until 9AM - killed
7pm killed
9AM Raster
I would have to say the 3 spawn method gives a quick result. I also killed no other mobs than PH mobs.

Ive read all the post and yer all full of it......there is only one ph that matters....and that's the one just before you kill this sob.....so you think if yer not camped on top of it for 5 days its not gonna spawn...of course it is....but it;s a random....RANDOM generated spawn...get it, ?... ya bunch of nooobies.....one ph killed and raster dead.....eat y'er hearts out!....oh by the way for those of you who dont believe me.....killed ph i found up at 12pm game time...raster spawned 30 mins later ....would have missed him but was campin the fabled king on my main and clicked my monk back in just too look.....have fun and remember real is allways more important

The programmers at sony stated that YOUR the fool. Im going to use some numbers to explain. every mob has a point value assigned to it. Now how this is used is lets say the point value for the zone is 3000. that means the game will generate NO more than 3000 worth of mobs in the zone. So lets say you kill PH + 50 mobs... by killing the other mobs you have opened up the points needed to spawn the named. this VERY thing that i just explained was POSTED by a sony dev quit a few years back. The dev said that therefor to increase your chances of getting a named wholesale slaughter was the way to go. that in fact doing ONLY the ph decreased your chance of getting the named.

apparently youre the newb, because the only way to get a rare spawn is to sit on the camp and wait for it. you do realize that your post really has no point, correct?

Years ago, like 2001, I originally did my monk epic. I did all the sashes, blahblah, etc, Targin the Rock took me 30 minutes, I got lucky there. Raster on the other hand took a bit longer, I think I spent 40 hours there total, one session lasting 18 hours straight. I vowed never to do it again. Well, I went on to play for several years, then retired my monk to play EQ2 when it came out. I played EQ2 until just last summer, and didn't play any MMOs for a while. One day I had an urge to play EQ1 again, just for the fun of it. So I loaded it up and once I got in I realized how much more I liked EQ1 than EQ2, so for old times sake I came up with the super intelligent idea of re-doing my epic (1.0 now I guess it is hehe) up to the point of the Robe of the Lost Circle. I had seen monks with both their epic and the robe back in the old days, and thought they were totally insane, but now, for some strange reason, I want to try it. I'm now at the stage where I must camp Raster once again. I'm like pretty sure I'm a sadist, but I ask you to wish me luck anyways!!! :) Here's to round 2!!!!!

There's plenty of info about Raster here already, but since the latest posts are nearing five years old, I thought I'd relate my experiences in the event in hope it will be useful to anyone else working on their Epic 1.0. For starters, the oft-mentioned spawn/despawn procedure above does still work to get three pops every EQ day, or 72 minutes of real time. Because the mobs regularly spawn at 10-hour intervals of EQ time (this translates into 30 minutes of real-world time), however, you have to jump on those spawns sometimes to make sure that the last mob spawns early enough that it can despawn when it should. On that note, the times seem to have changed slightly - Raster's placeholder (or Raster himself, if you're unlucky enough, I suppose) now despawns a bit after 7am (EQ time) and the next mob will pop in two game hours later, at 9.
I also found it helpful, as has been mentioned elsewhere, to pull mobs down the hallway towards the pit trap (that drops you into the Minotaur Elder's room) when breaking the camp. It's a nice out-of-the-way place and gives you plenty of time to finish off the mob once it starts running. The only drawback is the occasional frog Shaman who wanders around on the other side of the pit trap. If he wanders into range, he WILL heal and buff the poor sap you're beating on.
Finally, I have little advice for actually taking Raster down. As a 51 Monk with fairly shoddy equipment for this day and age, taking him out was a walk in the park after he finally spawned. My suggestion is if you're able to kill the Minotaurs and all on your own, you should be fine for Raster himself. I count myself lucky that this was only a 25-hour or so camp for me. Best of luck to y'all, and feel free to drop me a line if you're on Erollisi Marr within the next two weeks or so.
If you still need more advice, I recommend Bodi Kibadachi's extensive and well-written guide to all parts of the Monk Epic Quest 1.0. The Raster write-up is here. (That's http://www.castle-grounds.co.uk/eq/raster.htm in the event that the link doesn't work) Safe hunting to you all!

ill share my experience with raster here
i got raster 3 years ago but heres how i did it...
Back then the raster camp was a hot one.. everyone permantly camp the place when they have it.. I had to get in line just to camp this place... soon as i got this camp i camped him approximatly 3 days NONSTOP! dam right i didnt even sleep..(i dont wanna leave this place because if i did i would have to get back in the line for this camp) he spawned for me aafter around 72 hours.
Within the 72 hours: i petitioned 5 times
spoke to GM 3 times
almost passed out 2 times
i got my epic done very fast after the raster camp's done.
Whats gay about this is i replaced my epic with a elemental ton po leather glove 1 week after i got the epic done.
Not worth it if you ask me.. but i tell ya raster camp will always be a good memory if you think back after a very long time. You will laugh at what you did

Easiest camp ever. Set my 66 Ikky bst (KoS) w/pet up on Rast's spawn and set timer for 19minutes. Every 19minutes, check kill, and reset timer. Saved me alot of headache : ) Spawned after ~6 hrs or so of steady camping.

I got the spot tonight. Debated trying the spawn thing, and then decide since I had a miserable camp with Targin I would wait one respawn and if he spawned I would finish if not i would do the 1.5 prequest. Killed the PH and then waited. Sure enough, rastor of Guk spawned!

FYI - Raster has spawned at least 3 times this week that I am aware of.
I needed Raster for my epic. A guildie camped her Rogue there and checked in on Raster once in while. One evening she logged in, he was there, she killed him, he dropped what I needed, she looted .... and then we MQ'd it.
I was scared to death of facing a 80+ hour camp but she saved me the heartache.
At this point I had not gotten Targin to spawn but 2 nights ago He spawned for me after about 20 hours of camping in 8 hour slots.
For all of you that are camping anf wondering ... Yes, Raster and Targin do Exist!

Well, while you are camping him, you can farm frog faction for your crown of deceit! SO you can do two things at once. OMg insane. because, froglok faction is a pain in the ass. Took me over a week for kos to like amiably.

i must be the most unlucky person alive.. i have camped this dude for over a year, (several hours a day, several days a week, etc) i'm sorry, but i just don't have time to spend all my life in 1 stupid area for a pop. i have a job and family to take care of also. this is just rediculous.

27 hours of camping over three days. The 8 am spawn didn't show up so I figured I'll go afk till the 6pm one, I came back and my brain sent this message: it's not a mino, it's not a frog...must be broken! But it was Raster! Dropped the idol and I will never ever EVER step foot in that section of Guk again : )

I had ignored doing this horrible camp after wasting 50+ hours on him, but one day I was bored I thought I'd head down there and try again. One PH later he spawned! (For the record he pops up to the right of the pot in the elder room). He dropped fast.
Now that I was on a roll (roll of one) I thought I'd head over to naggy's to camp targin. I get there, look into the room ahead and OMG HE'S UP!! Didnt want to risk a despawn, so I ran in fast with innerflame on and dropped him in a second. Looted and ran with a train behind me (fd wouldnt work, too many casters).
Was SUPER lucky that day, but now back to the drabness of camping pawbuster in KC, in which my luck seems to have run dry. Cant seem to solo warlord room well at 59 - the warlords kick my ass most of the time.
Now that I was on a roll (roll of one) I thought I'd head over to naggy's to camp targin. I get there, look into the room ahead and OMG HE'S UP!! I just camped raster for about 5 hours on Prexus (Terris-Thule) server. I was clearing all minotaurs and never saw the elder, but di see a few froglok knights and 2 Basilisks (seemed really out of place). Finally I was giving up at around 6am, thinking I was dumb for depriving myself of sleep, I started reading the posts here on alla (for the 50th time). Suddenly I heard a rusting sound (from my minimized eq) and there was raster. I had been standing in the pot, looking for the ghostly monk image on the wall. At 55 I beat the living daylight out of him and got my idol. For all those who said "Just go kill Brother Qwinn": for the sake of role-playing, I endured. A monk could never kill his brother.

I've just started camping raster. Once 4am strikes the minotaur pops but I leave him be so he'll despawn at 7am (according to everyone) in the hopes that another will spawn at 8am. However, it has gone past 7am twice now and no despawn. Once the clock hits 8am I just down the mino and wait for the next. Am I doing something wrong to prevent the despawn or has it been fixed so raster wont despawn once he pops?
While writing this i had a mino appear at 1pm (after killing the 8am one). I'm all confused now - what is going on? Is the timer all changed now or am i just stupid and missing something?

Ok so i'm a lvl 51 monk that had this GREAT (not) idea to start his epic...got the headbands and the sashes w/o much of a problem and then I went and camped Targin The Rock in sol B king room. I did not use any spawn de-spawn bull sh*t because I dont thing it works and after 5 hours of camping him with a 66 cleric friend of mine he popped and was easy for me to solo. Now i'm stuck sitting on top of a pot stairing at a wall and watching Mino's spawn and run around me wondering weather or not I'm gonna hang my self or wait another hour for the Rastor Of Guk...I have lowerd my self to now even tryin to do the

8AM- Spawn kill
6PM- Spawn kill

Hola! I was recently tricked by Sony into checking out EQ since supposed recent improvements for a 21-day trial (21 day?)...
I quit playing once I hit 55 and was getting squashed by dark blues; even though I had uber gear and buffs. That was over a year ago - things have not changed, so I am done...I wish it wasn't so...

anywho, I was browsing the threads, and was wondering if my old theory still works...looks like it may have helped some, but did they change the spawn tables now? A friend at work mentioned EQ, and since he started up a monk, I thought I would check for him.

I expected endless days of waiting for this punk. Spent a couple hours a day for past couple days. Intended to pull overnighter last night, but after one cycle, I was just too tired and said screw it. I get up this morning, check on my trader, log onto my monk and run to spawn spot, and there he is! Yay me! Now its off to get Targin.

Day 3 into this hell camp. Temp had faded a long time ago. Out of food and water. My endurance has started to drop. I don't know how long i can last. If some one should find my rotting corpse and read my meassage Please tell my family i love them.
16 hours a day and still no spawn. I am tring the despawn thing to get three ph an EQ day. I started this as a 44lvl monk, a 50 necro help me break the camp. I am 45 now and two blues till 46. a 37 pally has been helping me with root, heals, and dps. I have no problems keeping this camp broken solo, but if my timimg is off and get an add i will be in trouble.

WOOOOOTTTTT. 6 hours into day 3 and he pops.
Was no problem to now a 46 monk and a 38 pally.
Total time in camp 38 hours. Good luck to all that needs to do this camp.

To heck with Raster, yes, I camped him the standard 100+ hrs and no pop. Yes, I did the 3 spawns per hour trick. Yes, it burnt me out so bad I quit EQ for 5 months. When I came back and started researching the other parts of the quest and found out you can bypass this whole friggin part by just killing Brother Zephyl in Rathe Mountains. On the second spawn of BZ he dropped the robe. Total time in RM 2 hrs. There are no faction hits for killing BZ.

I got him after about 12 hours of camping. I had just come back from "quiting" EverQuest, and I made a Monk again. I had camped Raster numerous times before, and probably have camped him totally on numerous characters for about 150 hours and never seen him. I used this strategy:

Ok for thsoe who didnt know this spot was meant for lower guk mob Raster of Guk not sol b and /or other mobs confussing people on timers really stinks most of us workin on the epic for our monks lookin for simple basic mobs a location a timer of mobs yes i know confurring information about mobs would b nice but when u ramble on a completely separtate mob - case in point spent 8 hours on book of "immortals" killed every mob listed even did the whole killin Zephyr and Qwinn - dont knwo how spawn Qwinn then - peopel get off the subject of the mob needed information like spawn timer of the mobs in lower guk as place holders

So last night I settle in for a long stay in Lguk. After killing everything a few times I try the cycle, and let the 4am ph despawn. I was only able to wait until like 10 that eq night until I had to fall asleep. This morning I log on and Rastor is standing right there. Yay! Guess I got lucky.

Been working on faction for Wood Elf Clickie Crown and the last 3 times I've run to Lower Guk his been up with 1 or 2 people in the zone .... being a monk (that camped him for 16 hours straight) I must resist the impluse to kill him just for showing his face.
I knew I was going to have trouble getting Raster when I zoned into SolB and, lo and behold, Targin was up! Immediately headed over to Guk, and have been killing and waiting and killing and waiting ever since... a mind boggling long camp, but thanks to all who've posted invaluable info on getting the most spawns at the PH point.

ok i have camped him for 2 days now 31 spawns so far another monk has camped him in the time i was not. I can understand that its an epic item but come on this is getting old now
well after 76 hours of camping him everyday on and off i come home ready to just go and see if i could take down quinn or other brother for the robe logged in and behold there raster is standing there at 6 am game time. immediately engaged and wiped him. easy kill for lvl 55 monk no buffs solo. was so glad to finally be done with this part. no i can move on and get exp while killing for the pipes. so dont give up he will come out of hiddin for you eventually.

This is fricking insane, we should not have to play for 100+ hours on end to get 1 damn spawn, all the other epics are fricking cake, but nooooooo monks have to be the biggest bitch of em all, anyway can someone repeat that theory, because ive just been murdering everything in that damn mino room. I cant take it anymore, while I was playing I could of sworn I saw a monk on the wall that was kneeling. I dont think thats a good sign, please someone help me!

So I have been camping Raster for 5 days on and off. I have tried all methods just becasue I am so bored. Nothing happening. I too have spotted the kneeling monk. Plus not only have i been camping Raster but two other monks are taking up where I am leaving off so he is non stop camped and still no Raster except there has been 2 patches could they have reset his spawn time and we are starting from scratch. This is so mind boggling. while back to see if i have something good maybe it will be he who must die lol.

At level 63 now, I have been camping Raster for over 200 hours. Many of those in 8 hour blocks getting 3 spawns each EQ day. No sign of the "rare" spawn. 30 something levels, 200+ hours, and nothing to show for it. This is epic torture is what it is...no Sub-Epic since everything else is pretty much done save for the last turn-in and battle~!

I consider this part of all the expansion being out ie LDoN and GoD. But I headed to LGuk, followed my trusty Maps and EQatlas Map and fell into a pit, climbed a ladder and looked to my right. There in front of me was the Man Raster of Guk, no one in zone so Obviously he was mine. Killed him and got my idol. Total time to run to the camp and kill 20 minutes if not less.

Well, its my initiation into being a monk, and thank goodness I have plenty of time to practice my feign death and bind wounds, otherwise I would go stir crazy.
I am using the 5am spawn, 7am despawn method and getting 3 PHs a day. Works nicely - use it, it will be your friend. At 3 spawns a day vs. 2 you increase your chances of a pop.
Anyway, I now also get the jokes about seeing the monk knealing down, binding wounds, although at this point in time, its much easier considering the faster regen while sitting and BW to 70%.
I will be praying to any Gods that listen, 12 hours is enough penance, please let me slay Raster soon.

This is one annoying camp! Been here over 80 hours so far and it popped once. Raster was stolen by a non-monk while my monk was fd on the cauldron. Raster has not popped since .. that was the only time in all this time and I've tried various ways (all previously mentioned plus one) to get him to pop again. Everytime working with the three spawns per eq day. I've killed those around for hours straight, I've killed nothing but the PH for over 50 hours straight and then someone had mentioned killing them all but leaving the elder in the pit to two hours just before spawn time then killing him but leaving his corpse in the pit. Well done them all didn't work but once when Raster was stolen from me..

The method I found that worked best was the kill only PHers ... thanks for the tip! Goodluck to anyone else getting ready to do this camp! Be patient! =)

Started this camp (solo) yesterday with my level 39 monk. Getting to the area is a bit problematic since any undead and some of the minos see through invisibility. Once there, you need to worry about the PH and 4 other mobs that pop there, plus possibly the one in the pit. The ledge where the PH spawns is a dead-end which is an advantage.
Two of the mobs are static, positioned overlooking the pit. The pit spawns the Mino Elder with a few nice drops too. There are also two other spawns which roam between the PH ledge and a short way away. Of these 4 mobs, I only saw froglok vis knights, and greater minos.
I could handle 2 or 3 beating on me, while I killed one of them, and then FD till I could mend up and continue. The trick was being able to break the spawn up so you did not have 5 beating on you. You DO want to have at least 2 on you, because if there is only one, they will run at 20% and you could get in trouble chasing it down without a snare of some sort. I purposely left one froglok live so the one I was killing would have a buddy and not run. I would say kill the roamers and one of the statics, that way you can use the ledge area to heal up before the PH pops again.
I was also afraid a shaman might spawn in place of the knight but this never happened.
The PH on the ledge could be a greater mino or knight (the ones I saw).
I NEVER saw Raster pop, but I did have the cycle working to get 3 pops per EQ day.

Started the camp with the Q-tip theory, did not work for me. As of post done about 28 hours into the camp. In between spawns I log in my 65 Druidin Rathe mountains and kill PH for Brother Zepyll to spawn. Got him to spawn once and a couple of us killed him but no robe on him. The way I figure if doing two ph camps for the price of one results in me maybe being able to abandon the accursed Raster camp I'll do it. Oh, and I too kinda see an imaginary outiline on the wall of a human monk form sitting down. Look carefully at wall right behind the spawn point and you might see it to.

I must say, this method greatly improves your chances of getting Raster to spawn. I had camped him for almost 78 hours previously with a friend. This time, when using the 3-a-day spawn method, I got him in a mere 15 hours. Thank you, Jellyfist! You're a -GENIUS-!

BTW - In my endeavor to understand this quest and its rare (damn near ridiculous!) spawns... At lvl 55, my monk set off for SolB for the Code. I had time to watch the PH, as the dark blues are nearly fatal to solo monks anymore :( Feign Death naps as I cleared the room slowly...
On, or slightly to the left of the 'throne' (as you face it), one mob named "a greater kobold" despawned! I got out the handy timer and started recording. Three game days into it, Targin popped in place of the "a greater kobold"

So far my girlfriend and I have spent 117 hours camping Raster continuously for her monk. While she sleeps I'm camping him and vice versa.
Two thoughts ocurred to us at this point...
1) It's been one really sad waste of a whole week where we should have been doing something in RL.
2) The epic isn't worth the time spent in this damn camp.
The only thing that I can say for sure is that the spawn/despawn times stated in the previous post are absolutely correct. At least you know the theory behind getting Raster, although clearly he's fictional and someone from SOE is playing the April Fools to end all April Fools on us.
Edit : 278 Minotaurs & 5 Froglok Vis Knights popped in this time. Pointless, annoying camp.
I think the best plan will be to bring lots of level 30-35 friends and camp the whole area, all grabbing level 51 before giving up and letting the next party camp another 300 PH's and waste a week of their lives.
Edit 2 : It's now 155 hours of near non-stop camping (only missed time was because of the latest patch) Still no Raster.
377 Minotaurs, 6 Froglok Vis Knights.
I've also seen what appears to be the ghostly image of the kneeling monk in the spot beyond the spawn point (viewed from an FD position in the pot). However I've also seen John Lennon there, Freddie Kruger, Ghandi and Puff the Magic Dragon. In fact everyone and everything that's ever existed, but NO F%^&ING RASTER.
We now have a new phrase for Xmas Eve in our house.... "Go to bed early or Raster won't spawn". Afterall, it's less believable than that Santa idea and I've more chance of camping Mr Kringle for the drop.
Edit 3 : He finally popped after 166 hours of camping. (394 Minotaurs, 9 Froglok Vis Knights) No-one has sufficient money to make me ever camp this mofo again. I spent less time doing the entire mage epic than camping this one spawn..... I'd advise against doing this quest unless you enjoy pain or have an extremely stubborn partner who rewards well (and yes, it does mean what you've thought of)

Ouch! That is one long camp! I think you may be on to something with the 'hope for the terminally impatient' idea - I also headed over to kill Targin after getting Raster in such a short time. But at lvl 52, I don't solo against those shaman casters too well. But the few times I was able to find help, I spent at least 74 total hours in the throne room waiting for the spawn. And STILL waiting :(
Sony did finally fix the pathing issue in the Gorge of King Xorbb after 8 months. I was lvl 17 when I started camping it, but had to go back to get the last piece in the Treant Fists quest last night...just for principal. I initially camped the Goblin Alchemist for over 500 hours before Sony admitted I was wasting my time. Not much use to me now at 52 :P

By seeing for yourself. Go there and camp him and note the spawn times by killing all PH's over a set time, then try following the formula and you'll see it does indeed work and gives you one more spawn per EQ day than you would have by killing everything.

just for those who are camping him here come some info about how much time toke it to some of us:
A monk friend with epic done: 46 Hours
A monk friend with no epic: 60+ Hours and still waiting him
My monk: 40 Hours non stop
While i was camping him, many people reported me they found him poped last night etc... it is just luck, even if no one is camping him, his ph depop and repop each eq day so he can pop... but at the same time even if no one kil rasten he ll depop at next day.

If you want him to spawn just kill the mino near the pot thingy whenever you see it and raster will spawn after a lil. (Kelide is very happy about his pretty new idol =)).

Camped him yesterday, got him :) took 13 hours non-stop
To get the most pops leave the 5am (game time) PH pop to de-pop at 7am it re-spawns by 9. Kill all the others.
This way you'll get 3 or 4 pops per eq day rather than 2

Just out of curiosity, if I can keep that spawn point clear and not worry about the minos from below (I am a 55 monk) would that make any difference on when Raster spawns or the amount of PH's per game day?
I hate doing time sink and although this is very nice for a monk indeed, I do think that it has been nerfed with some of the stuff coming out of the elemental planes. (Ornate armour comes to mind) If there was a way of speeding this up, like say raster pops every 85 ph's then it would be a whole lot easier on all of us monks.

Just wanted to post and say that I camped Raster for about 3 hours and he spawned. And this was the first time I camped him. I waited longer to get Targin the Rock in Sol B. Camped him for about 6 month before finally got him.

Raster is, in my opinion, just a random spawn, a friend of mine was camping fbss and some other things in the zone, when he decided to good look at raster camp, there he was, he ddnt do anything anywhere near the camp, and he god The Idol, i even inspected him and saw it... Random

Holly crap ...... i finally got him. I had camped him on and off for 16 hrs. I had help a fellow monk camp him for 34 hrs before I camped him. The spawn rate seems to be correct but the idea of letting one despawn I didnt do I just killed everything in sight. I remember the monk I had helped tell me he got Raster to spawn right after recieving a patch from QE... I recieved a patch from everquest yesterday ... got Raster to spawn abouy 3hrs later... killed him got idol.. Im not too sure if this will help but it might.. all I can say is good luck.

Raster is hella hard to get, but in comparrison to the rest of the monk epic I feel lucky, 2 or 3 super anoying kills to start up but in the end monk epic is a cake walk compared to others. And just look at the resulting item!! I was just wondering if Raster is gonna be the hardest camp I'm gonna have to do (patience wise). I heard Chardok and Karnor are 5x worse.
It is proven that if you eat a muffin a day, you have a 15% increase of YUMMY!

I was bored as hell waiting at Raster camp and I had been there a good while and I was imagining his outline inthe spawn point. I had just finished cleaning my ears out with a Q-tip and saw a Q-tip (clean one) by my chair and jokingly made a bet that if he spawned I'd eat this Q-tip... poof he spawns ... so i ate the Q-tip lol. I liek to call this my Q-tip theory, use it...it works =P
