Camping Reventants for my Iksar Necromancer skullcap series quests, and wanted to share that "Sense the Dead" spell will find the revenants' pet if they are spawned.
Where do these guys spawn? Do they have a placeholder? I cleared the whole fort out including the chancellor. The only room I didn't touch was the one with the blacksmith (conned red to my 41 necro). I need the two parts of the candlestick for my necro skullcap quest.

Found him in two places inside the halls of the Sarnak fortress. One spawn is in the hallway near the smith at Loc -2180, +4490 and roams there. There other spawn is in the southernmost room at Loc -2900, +3970. Killed 3 at first loc and 2 at second.
Slow (Not sure what variety) -----Tanks really hate this. That's why we try to fight him last. Then the tanks aren't slowed for the rest of the mobs. Fear -----It isn't good to lose your tanks to fear. That kinda causes a problem with killing. Malise -----Lowers *A LOT* of stats. esp MagRes. Dispel (Not sure which variety) -----Buffs will disappear. Really bad to lose those CLR shields. Tainted Breath (Poison DoT) -----Hurts a little bit, not too bad though. Heal (Not sure which variety) -----Heals fellow mobs. This makes for a long fight if he's not mezzed.
The most memorable fight I had against him was as an ENC. We had a party of 5, Ranger, Rogue, Cleric, Mage. On the pull (warrior), he said he was rooted. As the ENC, I went to help. As we ran up, the CLR went LD. The warrior died, and we were left with 6 mobs. 3 Recruits, 1 Legionnaire, Rev & Pet. Looking pretty bad, they asked me if we should run. In a split second, the ranger was rooted, and the choice was gone. I AoE Mezzed; 1 resist. Cast again, no resists. Sat down, and pulled out my other 4 sec PB Stun. Ran into fight, and started chain stunning with Color Flux & Color Shift. 2 rounds of that, then back out for an AoE Mez. Back in for chain stun. Kept doing this until only 3 mobs left, 1 Recruit, Rev & Pet. Single mezzed the Rev & Pet, and sat down...mana was quite tight now. They killed the Recruit, and Rev broke Mez. Of course, now he's very, very pissed at me. He ran for me, I rooted, backed up, and then was feared. Ranger and rogue were beating on him, but their HP was quite low. When fear ran out, I remezzed the pet and went in and chain stunned again. HP stayed good for the two melees cuz of stunning. He finally dropped and pet was easy to kill. Cleric came back from LD, rezzed Warrior, time to kill again.
Mmm i have been looking for the revenant for a decent amoount of time, but can not find him. I have been all over the fortress, killed greenies for hrs, nothing. If anyone has any suggestions on how to get this guy to spawn, please let me know.
I was in a group at the backdoor when I ran in as a 21 war to pull something for my group (21 cleric, 20 pally, 19 wizzie, 20 enchie), I shot an arrow down the hall at him (not knowing he was any more dangerous then the recruits we had been fighting) and he followed up with a DoT spell and I ran out to pull him to my group. I ran all the way back to me group and found he hadn't followed, so I shrugged my shoulders and went back in, to find myself running smack dab into him around a corner......he cast and his pest bashed, but I managed to pull him out of the fort and almost got him all the way to my group when he hit me with a spell that made me lose control of any actions, and I just went flying back a good ways from the fort, so I waited impatiently for the spell to leave and ran my butt back to my group who was still working on him....I just started bashing, the Sarank first and then his pet, he hit me with quite a few spells, and I only lived because my cleric had full mana, but we did successfully take him out without any casualties with no one above lvl 21

Just trying to make it through with less then 4 deaths a level
Recently I recieved a 'Foot of Candlestick' (NOT base of candlestick)off this guy which must be the rarer drop since i've seen many 'Stem of Candlestick' drop from him before the mentioned patch. Since i'm too lazy to post a pic the Foot of Candlestick looks like a metal pie pan.
The Foot of Candlestick does drop from him, its much rarer (maybe 1/5 or less even). Apparently at some point lately they added in this for those not wanting to do the Halfling Swashbuckler in FV for the subquest to get the Foot.

becareful when you try to find the revenant inside the Sarnak Fort that you don't run into Chancellor of Di`Zok, he's even worse hehe, his pet if as fast as SoW or faster then the Chancellor hits harder then the Revenant,so becareful hehe
I took him on with my 28 warrior. I thought, hey he's blue to me, and I've never seen this guy before. What the heck. He feared me three times. On the last one, I was running so I ran off a cliff for 160 damage. That stunk. Then he cast two evil dots and dispelled my sow. Maybe I was just unlucky that all his spells hit me. But then I went back for revenge with a 30 druid and took him to school. He can be quite tough as a solo so beware.
The Candlestick Base is usually the sub-quested part of the Necro Skullcap quest... gets handed in with the candlestick.
Just to let you all know, if you happen to kill this guys pet (he'll wander like any other pet in the game and get lost, or added to pulls) and not the Rev, you had better zone. I found out the hard way. The Rev is a sneaky bastard and will just send other sarnak after you instead of coming out himself. I sat outside the front door and was getting a wandering aggro about every 2 minutes and had to actually run and zone. I tried to FD eseveral times, but it didn't wipe me off his list (although it worked for the mobs that were attacking me at the time). BTW, these weren't actually wandering aggros... they were running out and across the field straight for me... I noticed this after I wasted a couple of them and started watching to see where they were coming from so fast.
I am a 36 SK killing sarnaks for an earring or bracer of the hidden.... still haven't gotten one yet but i did happen to pick up a candlestick base (something like that) from a revenant. I had never seen it before... and i dont even see it posted here so i thought i would tell... maybe it was part of a broken quest, dunno, but now i know know what do do with it.... sigh.
Very dangerous pull if you are pulling inside the fort. Many times he will cast FEAR on the puller. Ten seconds later you are lost inside the fort while he nukes you for 140+ and his pet beats on you, and you've probably aggro'd two other sarnaks. If you see him inside either pull him with an arrow or spell.
Outside, go ahead and kick his butt, but let everyone now what you're about to pull and that they should be prepared to back you should he cast Fear.
I am a 22 enchanter, and was grouped with a 24 ranger, a 22 necro, and a 21 cleric last night and we pulled one fo these out to the back door with its pet and a recruit. Everyone was considering zoning, but we decided to give it a try. Ussualy I guess its best to take the toughest opponent first in that situation, but it can turn into a long fight with the fear, so I tashaned the revenant, then cast mezmerization on the area. We killed the recruit first, and I took time out to tashan the pet and hit both of them with enthrall to hold them. After that my party killed the pet while I conitnued to renew mez on the revenant. Then we fought it all by itself. We were all feared once each, and everyone ran out of mana, but we won. A very fun confrontation.
heh, guess my group is lucky. it was just me (19 ogre warroir) a chanter, and a druid healing. we all ended up with 2 bubs of health and i was feared for a lil pit, but we still took him down. was wondering aobut pet, didnt know sarnaks where sham's and necros. well, just a little note, i guess he's pretty easy. course i had a WS and ajarsaths trident. now i hit for 105 (crit) with 170 str.
Yes, maybe a little easier for a group of 3 seriously twinked, but be for warned do not mess with this guy unless you are lvl 25 atleaset and with a full group!
uh, no. 20 to 24 is about right. it's a tough fight, but that's how it works. groups take down mobs that are a few levels above them. no need to be twinked to do that.
This guy is only lvl 25, but he is much harder than the othert sarnaks, he hits just as hard and has as many hit points as the legionairs. But on top of that he can dispell your buffs, dd for 150 damage, and use a very nasty fear spell, and offcourse do some dot's as well. His pet is not that hard, only lvl 20 or so.
Be very carefull when you try to pull this guy, he will remove your sow, and hit your hard with dot's and dd while you try to pull, and if you fight him inside the fort his fear spell is very likely to either get you lost, or send you into the arms of some other sarnaks
Very nasty MoB same level as Legionnares and hit as hard but he chain casts FEAR and Shock of Poison. Have poison and magic resists up..he will fear you ALOT. He also casts darkness and it will remove SoW. Killed me (23 Iksar Shaman) conned yellow, he resisted Root a few times but didn't resist Spirit Strike. Not too tuff with a group but solo he's a handful, if at all possible pull him outside the fort. Drops Tattered scroll and candlestick for Lizzy necro quest.
Stormrazor Spiritscale Iksar Oracle Apprentice of 23 seasons
Hey this guy is real simple. With a group of 20-27 well balanced I as the puller (lvl 25 war) grabbed this toad and pulled him to our kill zone. Now dont try to pull him to the platform he will obliterate you if he even comes. your group must be inside the fort dont be afraid its not that scarry. Well anyway we creamed him after the tanks got feared round robin style 3 times.
We decided a few pulls later to camp his room. The revenent and his PH are the only things that spawn in this room and he spawns facing into the room near door. When he popped I had 3 recruits draggin behind me, our monk whisked them up and attempted to FD em somewhere. Well they hated me pretty bad so they followed me to the rev. This time the rev feared us only once before we started eating his health. A balanced group can own this guy at lower 20s.
DON'T be affraid to camp his room its much easier than running down coridoors dragging him and his pet along with all the yard trash on the way.
After multiple encounters with sarnak revenants while playing my 25th level ranger and 27th level warrior...my advice is to hit him hard and disrupt his spellcasting as soon as you see him. His pet is really a secondary consideration and I consider his pet to be a joke.
If he doesn't get off too many spells, he's a cakewalk. My tank took him apart rather easily after recovering from the intial fear spell which stuck. She was using a Wurmslayer and Crystallized Blade and had Bash/Slam as a secondary attack which helped disrupt the revenant's casting. It went down faster than even a dragoon.
Note however, he is a bitch to any unfortunate puller who aggros him. All I can say is that if you pull him, better pray you make it to your group (and healers) in time to survive.
He also warped a party member twice to the other side of Ill Omen, near Cabilis border, but each time that's occured, we got no xp for killing the revenant, so I figure that if he warped someone through a wall, we get no xp for killing the revenant. Not sure. However I did send in a bug report about it.
I can only repeat what I've just said..the minute you see him...hit him hard before he does too much damage.
Soloed him at 29 (warrior), but it wasnt easy. hard to interrupt all his casts with a wurmslayer, but i eventually took him out with one bub.one hard ass @#%^in mofo
Lvl is a bit off. Ran into one last night and he was Red to me at 23. Feared just about everyone in our group. I rooted him. He apparently was not pleased so he DD'd me 3 times and killed me. I had 450+hp at the time. Not fun.
I fought one of these last night and it was holding a bow or some staff. Unfortunately my two healers bailed on me and i died before i could kill it. I was sooooo close too! *lets a tear drop as he remembers how close he was* If anyone know what this thing was, PLEASE tell me so I know how badly to kick myself in the butt for having a group of cowards. It wasn't all their fault, we were overwhelmed, but two healers and an awesome tank like me :) you dont need to run. Anyhow, I am desperate to find out. Please someone let me know.
Yesterday, our puller ran into two sarnak revenants (AND their pets...) plus a recruit or adherent. We were in a room near the back entrance and saw our puller's health dropping really fast and went to investigate.
Bad idea. I ended up getting feared and I think warped too and they scattered the party to the four winds and I know me and the puller died along with one other.
The way things went, not a whole alot I could do but tell the others to RUN.
Definitely need to be careful with those things and hit them before they get off too many spells.
this dude droped greaves i can t remember name but it s 8ac n 10 sv magic we rolled it and a iksar monk who s good friend of mine looted it so give her a tell if u want to buy it and PC s 200 or 300 pp so better be rich hehe
The sarnak revenant, in addition to the usual battery of necro spells, has a rather nasty slow spell which essentially permits its pet to bang on you while you're trying to pull him.
The fact that this scaly so-and-so spawns in the dead center of the fortress is pretty unpleasant as well. Send in someone with a high magic resist (or a LoH) to pull 'im.

As the updated list of items now says, the Stem of Candlestick is for the Iksar Necro 6th rank quest, and the Farsight Crystal is one of 4 ingredients needed for the charm plant scroll quest in Firiona Vie.
I was told it was for a druid quest in Fiona Vie. You talk to a guy and he asks for 4 items, the Farsight Crystal being one of them. I dont know what else you need, I dont know who you talk to, and I dont know what you get. Sorry, I just dont know much about this item. I will keep you posted.
I was in a group of lvl 21-25 and we were camping the fort, and were attacked by a few sarnaks, a rev., dragoon, and the normal guys, we slaughtered them all... We took down a buncha rev.'s, and it never casted fear on anyone... wierd, eh?
My group was camping inside the fort and one attacked one of my members so we killed it. It cast a spell on our paladin that feared him into the wall then warped him into overthere. We found it quite funny, but it was easy at lvl 24... I am a warrior and it cast the same spell on me 3 times in a row and it had no effect. It did cast it on our mage but it was a typical fear. Accident or not, It warped him, and he did not die, and it might be something to consider if u can bearly take em. They have a tendency to cast fear ALOT! In fact he did not even hurt anyone with any spell. He just feared 3 of us and wasted 3 on me and gave up.
You were lucky. This guy can often pull an adherant and 2-3 legos and recruits with him. If he does, and you are a group around level 25 inside the fort, you will be lucky to get out alive, especially if one or two are feared. His fear can stick at 30, so don't be too complacent.
This was tooken at lvl 24 conned yellow... He dropped a bracer named, Hidden Bracer. Ac 6 Effect: Sell Invisible. I lost the lotto, but person in group noticed its unlimited casts, and addition u can cast on anyone in your group. Really nice if u wanna sneak somewhere. His pet is really weak, but he can do decent damage. Not to bad.
Hmm.. I've fought this guy twice in a decent group of 24-27 people. The first time I died. The second time someone else in the party did.
I was lev 26 monk first time, he cast some stupid DD (poison?) that did at least 200 dmg on me twice, and repeatedly casts a cold spell. Though its the big DD that wasted me.
The pet should be ignored until the big guy is dead.
The second time, wiser, we beat on him and the casters chain nuked til he died. The cold DD was mitigated somewhat by a bard song too. (NB - If you pull him deliberately - not accidentally - make sure you buff everyone up with resist colds first)
It's a necro not shaman, they don't have a cold spell. they can stack 4 to 5 DoT's on you tho if your magic resist is to low, which it most likely is unless you got uber twinked. their pet is very weak in hitting but is a hp shield. and when pulling them you have a high chance of him pulling more of his friends on the way to your party. make sure he doesn't aggro to any casters because if they get all the DoT's on them they are dead for sure. DoT's combined can do up to 500hp damage. just interrupt his attacks and your fine tho.
we took this guy easily and no one even needed a heal. Infact the mages just medded through the whole fight, one of our tanks went awol (we think he found a cute dwarf and they ran off). So a lvl 23 Warrior and a lvl 22 Monk aced him no problem
Just handle these like all spellcasters you encounter in EQ. They dont have to much HP's but can still mess your group/or yourself up quickly.
After fighting a few of these I noticed that they like to fear people, and then dispel. Sometimes even root. So if you have only one tank in the party make sure he keeps his Bash/Slam for when he starts seeying the spells go off. Else he will be running over the plains with a pet after him.
He then tries to fear the other members of the party and melee. All in Send in Tanks, Nuke em and Bash em.. Safest way.. Clean up pet afterwards..
I never took out the pet first, but there is a possiblity that he summons a new one if the original one dies. Anyone else ever tried that?

I was in a group of 4 tanks in the range 25-27. I'm 25th and it was yellow to me, so I thought it would be no trouble for us to kill. Man, he smacked the crap out of us. I came within a pixel of dying and we lost two people. This thing is much tougher than it cons. Much worse than the Gem Oracle.
has any other necro got his pet instead of a normal one? Twice when I would cast a pet at the windmill it would con as "Sarnak Reaver pet" just wondering if this was a common thing
STUN people. When he starts casting BASH or KICK or STUN him. Don't worry too much about the pet, if you have an enchanter or bard to mez it, you will have no prob with this dude. And if worse comes to worse, sit down so you won't move when the fear hits.
Come on hes not that tough.I was a member of a 6person group level 21 and 22 and we killed him although he had a recruit friend with him.Had to nuke it though ).One shaman died and no one had full mana when he was pulled.Pet was level 20.Be careful and youll kill him.
The Rev and his pet are really nasty, appear to be higher than 25. The Rev himself will send in his pet and if you kill the pet before you kill him, there will be multiple pets. This could be a bug of sorts or just a new flair for The Rev. Haven't a clue what he drops, but he wasted a full group of 23-24, and feared me thru the fortress wall which landed me in the middle of Cabilis, which is NOT a safe point for humans ... LOL Good Luck in your endaevors in the Fortress, we managed to aviod him after 3 rounds like this :)))
