Make sure they dont dive for the part where the legs divide... .. and lately on my expedition to Dalnir, I have seen rubber chew toys lying around the area...
Today while fighting a coerced iksar, this mob passed by us, then started attacking me while I was finishing the iksar off. Had to zone to stay alive, too low to FD successfully. After I bound wounds, got to 50%, went back to zone, he was waiting. I killed him very easily. Problem was, the coerced iksar conned lt. blue to me, and the nibbler was blue. The iksar went down harder than the nibbler, ... bring 'em on like that, excellent EXP, but the iksar EXP sucked above all that doth sucketh! So, they do aggro!
When I first zoned into Dalnir one of these guys was waiting there and I expected to die just from the look of it. However it didn't attack and once the whole group was there we took it down very fast.
I looted some gloves of rallos zek (not wearable, just an item). I'm pretty sure they are for a quest, but I don't know which one. Does anyone know what these are for?
I am a gnomish enchanter with a taste for hunting in enemy territory... heck, in warsliks or the swamp evil types can hunt for me for 4 hours and not find me. Thats beside the point, though... what I am getting at is that all the (outdoor at least) zones in kunark have an odd mix of cons... very little out there ISN'T scowling ready to attack, and yet very little is aggro... lets take swamp of no hope for example... skellies, frogs, and bandits are KOS... plants, lampreys, nibblers, mosquitoes... (even cockatrices in their respective zones) all scowls, but none ever bother me... i've seen the same in every single outdoor zone in kunark. ] So though I completely agree that sometimes things don't KOS cuz they don't see you, there seem to be a plenty of scowling beasties in kunark who won't KOS gnome enchantresses anyways... perhaps their faces froze that way in their youth... mother told em so too

Actually, I have to correct myself a bit: It does seem almost random as to whether or not they aggro. However, there is one spot I know of (the fork at the end of the first twisted hallway) that they ALWAYS aggro on me.
I guess that the best advice is to be very careful around these guys, as there are no guarantees that they will or won't aggro on you. It's very easy to let your guard down, only to have one land triple 58s on you when you least expect it :)
Aye, some do aggro and some do not. While camping in front of the temple entrance, we were able to control the area by leaving the non aggro nibblers alone. They also wouldn't join the fight when we were fighting coerced mobs. As a high 20's group of melee type characters (4 monks, 1 warrior and a necro) we were able to hold the room for quite some time by leaving the non-aggro nibblers alone and fighting them only when really bored and full health. A healer is really nice to have though, as a bad pull of casters killed 3 and made the other 3 run for lives (or FD, rather).
"Contrary to the description above, some ravenous nibblers will KOS. It seems fairly random, possibly with roamers being more likely to KOS."
It isn't random. Ravenous Nibblers will ALWAYS KoS, IF they can see you. Dalnir has several spots where mobs have a difficult time seeing you. The most notable spot is right near the zone-line.
Also, not that this matters, Ravenous Nibblers aren't the only creature in Dalnir that isn't on the Thrall of Kly faction. The various Goos are also factionless.
