That's my guestimate based upon Banish undead (585 dd) taking 9-10% health per hit. After dropping him, I got 3 gold and a bone chip. woot :P

I'de say thats a little on the high side. More like 4500-5000 at most. What he does have is good regeneration. At one point I let my dots run out and his regen while rooted was quite noticable.

Max hit on my 57 Ranger was 109. Dropped a little coin, but thats all.

I killed this guy with my necro in the past week, and I was doing a /pet report health, while my pet was tanking him, and I saw my pet had engulfing darkness, so I was like /boggle. Then I realize the skelly had a weapon, and it appeared to be proc'ng. When I killed it, it had on it a Kunzar Ku'juch

So can add that to it's loot table I suppose, less someone gave it to it, or used it as a DC pet.

I did have KEI but.. at lvl 38 i accidently took him, I didnt know what i was up against i just saw red and was soloing things. About 10 minutes into it i was thinking does this guy ever die?? I was even around 20% mana the whole time medding dotting and rooting over and over again. But it wasnt too bad.
soloed this tough guy

Hi All,

Soloed this guy today. He popped 3 times. First time, he killed me, I went oom just before he died and his last hit (for 109) killed me off. Second time, a warrior bashed him down for me as revenge :) 3rd time, with full kei I took him down, had to heal myself once in the middle, but pulled a root/nuke on him. Banish undead (took about 7 casts of it) He had tons of HP, but he did drop the hammer that time.

This guy has at least 2-3 times as many hit points as the normal skellies in the area (e.g. plaguebone thieves) and hits a lot harder. As a 47 necro I can kill the plaguebones with a dooming darkness, fear and asystole with my pet doing the rest... the skelly dies just about the time the fear runs out. Took this one on when the only nuke I had loaded was Ward Undead (which does about 40 points a hit) for Evocation practice, and burnt through two dooming darkness, two asystoles, three fears and about a dozen ward undeads... even then my pet was down to 20% hit points when the skelly finally died after the third fear ran out.

Needless to say, I didn't mess with one again... it just isn't mana-efficient for the XP and loot you get.

I'm a pretty well equipped 44 paladin. Had KEI last night and still couldn't solo him, way too many hps, and he hits really hard. He is even tough to fear kite because the couple of times that you will hit him while he is feared will hardly scratch his HPs. Even tried fighting/rooting/healing/expulse undead....forget it. My root only last about 30secs on him, and before you know it your OOM.

However, had a 40 Shammy with me the night before, and took him down. Needless to say the Shammy didn't have much mana left by the time the fight was over. He is a tough sucker though.
impressed myself:)

Wraithbone popped right after Cleared the skele ruins in DL, At the time I had kei so I medded till ,buffed my pet with spirit armor and augment death, for myself i had greater shielding, steelskin. Pulled him with shackle spirit and sent in pet. I made the mistake of casting scent of darkness on him too soon got instant aggro. Got 1 fear off that took and then was casting dooming darkness when it broke. I DIED. I came back for revenge. As I was buffing myself a 60 druid and a 47 wizzy stopped by and asked if I needed assistance , I got pog, regrowth. And sow for me and pet. I then used call of bones to med till full. Pulled with shackle again it stuck, sent in pet, dooming darkness, feared, eternities torment, then scent of darkness, got aggro again but pet regained, did 3 vos's during fight and 1 scourge my undead nuke 3 times(with many fizzles)and 3 fears and 2 dooming darknesss with pet tanking took about 4 or 5 min. BTW only level 39. Only buff from druid that made differance was the sow. Dropped no hammer.
Easy fight

I took him down easily with 45 necro. I used dark, asystole, undead fear, sent pet. I did have to asystole again. Then i finsihed him off with ignite bones. Only difference between him and normal skelli was second asystole.

Pet did about 20% and my chanting was for over 4500 hp's dam

He hed conned to me at 42.

Finished on full hp and mana with no drops bar trivial Silver.

Fun to see what you can solo.. :)

I was level 51 after getting a port to Dreadlands. I decided to wander around by the nice looking pyramids and empty buildings near wizard spires. Im still surprised no groups around there. Anyway, I start sensing undead and these come up to my target. So i put Instrument of Nife up (243dd self proc for 30mana), Valor of Marr for 300mana!(self haste (21%?), and my best symbol for 160mana?(cant remember, but about 300-400hp buff). I sit a little bit to get some mana back for stuns and roots just in case being that I only have about 750mana. So this guy stands there on top of a pyramid and i open up with Holy Might (60dd w/ 6 second stun) and I whack him a couple times for 100 or so and i cast Stun before hes come to his senses and hit whack him a couple more times for 100 or so (30damage 36delay weapon with FBSS and self haste on :) ) Well, i do remember it was a rather lengthy battle, but when you're hitting for 100 or so each round, parrying, riposting, double attacking... what made the difference was the Instrument of Nife spell. It went off 3 times during battle (243dd X 3 = 729). Well, i lost 2bubbles of hp, and he was near death and his friend joined in. Luckily he was near death and i just rooted his brother, ran away till he was a little dot and medded. When he lost root i sent Holy might to stun him and repeated... blue to level 51 paladin...

# Nov 26 2001 at 1:01 PM Rating: Default
A druid friend of mine and I took him down twice last night. There is a big difference in HP between his lvl 43 spawn and the lvl 45 spawn. When he spawed at lvl 45 I hit him with Ice Commet 5 times and Rend once. That's a total of 6,324 damage and that only took him down to 25% life. My druid friend hit him with drifting death twice and 4dd's before he finally went down. When he spawned again (within 5 minutes too) he spawned at lvl 43. This time it only took 4 Ice Commet's and 1 drifting death before he went down. Didn't drop the hammer either time either :/

Me and a 47 Monk took him out. Was a long fight, and he has tons of hp. Came close to running out of mana.

Didn't drop anything, but loads of xp for my level.

Togor's wore off mid fight, if it had lasted, the fight would have been very easy.

Can a group of 2 warriors 1 monk 2 druids and a enchanter take him if we're all level 40-43?
RE: what lvls?
# Oct 26 2001 at 10:26 AM Rating: Default
This guy has massive ammounts of HP for his level. I would suggest replacing one druid with a cleric, and the other druid with a wiz or mage. Gotta chain-nuke him pretty hard. B/c he is undead, cleric can assist in some nice undead DDs if he/she has a fair amount of mana (80%+)
RE: what lvls?
# Jun 07 2002 at 11:00 AM Rating: Decent
They could, easily. I soloed him with a 40druid. People really underestimate druid's solo <sigh>. Hehe, oh yeah, this guy wanted to know IF they could take him, IE, yes or no, not who to kick out of his lil set of friends and who to hunt down =P

Side note, for soloing druids, do NOT nuke this guy...DoT kite is the only way, I'm sorry =/ This guy does have way too much HP for a nuke-over, well, did for me with Firestrike, higher level druids (44+) with more effiecent nukes may find to the differ.

Last thing...don't run too far ahead of him. He'll de-agro off ya once you're basicaly outside of spell-casting range. Makes medinw while DoTs are going a pain, but, atleast for me, rooting him wasn't worth it.

Sorry, one other last thing, lol. Wrathbone also dropped in City of Mist, incase anyone else is hunting it, I got 2 while there (not Lore). MOBs there are much easier than this guy, and, druids, oddly enough, City of Mist IS an "out-door" zone! <cheer>

Peace and good luck

You can also get the Wraithbone Hammer from the wraithbone skeletons in City of Mist that spawn real close to zoneline. They a lot lower level and the close zoneline makes it easy to not die, which is a good thing. ;) Go to CoM to get yer hammer...much much easier.

Easily 5k hp, Maxes for 111, doubles too, for a total of 222, add in a 36pt kick and u got pain. Hits as fast as any monk. Hurts like the devil and like all skells in the camp, isnt too slow. Magic Resist is good. Good luck, I've only had a successful solo once out of 3.
BTW he dropped something called Runed Scaled tunic or soemthing.. only 12ac, not too good.

You guys must be newbies..I started camping outpost where these guys spawn from the beginning of level 45 till level 46. I'm a necro and had no problems soloing this guy..took me about 5 minutes or less to drop him..killed him over 10 times and stopped counting but he never dropped the hammer.

"I'm a necro and had no problems soloing this guy..took me about 5 minutes or less to drop him"

No problems other than taking "five minutes or less" to kill it; considering that a 45/46 necro can easily put out well over 1000 damage per minute with DoTs alone, plus damage from a hasted pet that quads for up to 47 a hit, _all without getting hit by the mob_, it's not difficult to understand why other classes might have a hard time killing them.
Running him down
# May 11 2001 at 8:51 AM Rating: Decent
At 44 he conned blue to me and it took me about 20 minutes to solo him. Of course, as your running around in circles telling time becomes difficult. Could have been more or less. No idea how many hp but more than any Hill Giant I have fought lately.
