You say, 'Hail, an enslaved iksar'

An enslaved iksar looks up at you. You can tell his spirit is broken. His scars speak of a severe beating.

you can have this back
# Feb 05 2011 at 9:45 AM Rating: Decent
well, got my Troll SK to amiable with this guy when i drink an iksar illusion potion, I camped the pen gobbies and got the three keys, bone key, stone key and the necklace.
went to this guy to turn in and he gives me the "no thanks you can have this back" message.
Anyone know if this is broken?
He gives me all the quest dialogue when i talk to him but won't take the keys or cough up the needle.
and yes, i know he's the correct enslaved iksar because he matches the screen grab from the top of this page and he gives the correct dialogue.

now in caves

Ok this guy is now in the caves in FM..question is does he still require all three keys to give you the piece to make the stupendous machine work and are penkeepers and penmasters still the only ones that drop the keys. I camped here for about 3 hours recently. I looted a bone key as soon as my group went in and killed room ( from a penkeeper) No other key drops or penmasters popped the rest of the time we were there. If any one has completed the stupendous tome quest since the move to the caves, please respond. Also, does this guy have any dialog at all? I could never get him to respond to any questions.

Just finished the Stupendous Tome segment of the quest today. It does still work and there is no hailing/talking involved. Here are some observations:

1) You need to turn in the bone necklace, the bone key, and the stone key. All of these drop off the various pen**** goblins which spawn in the two right front spawn points in the room with the Enslaved Iksar.

2) I've only seen the Enslaved pop in the left of the two slave spawn points. Despite losing some cabilis faction I killed the slave that con'd amiable in that left spawn point a couple of times to get the Enslaved to pop. Once he popped he was up for days. I was camping there 3 hours a night for about a week and he was always up, day or night.

3) You may get a bone key in CoM off a Captain of the Guard while camping couriers for illegible scrolls. This bone key is NOT the one the Enslaved Iksar is looking for and I lost my other two keys in the transaction.

4) The stone key was by far the most difficult to come by. Bone and bone necklace were fairly common.

5) Usually made a couple of hundred pp each session here. Was lvl 56 with some cleric buff (temp-hov) and would stay until buff dropped and then run back to PoK to unload and get new buff. Never was concerned for my life except for once where temp dropped, mend was down, and had 4 on me. Even then never did have to feign, down to 20% health.

6) Once in Droga, I've read that you need bone and bone necklace keys to get into jail. So after my turn in to get needle I continued to camp the pen gobs for the two bone keys. When I got to the jail I could not get any of my keys (bone, copper, nickle, iron, steel, or bone necklace) to work. Needless to say I was a bit miffed. Ran back to a safe spot and used mimizing device to get as small as I could and then invised again. This time I was small enough to run through the jail gates and straight to the machine for the combine which was in the cell on the left. It is a no fail combine and no mobs are in jail. Was able to use a field of bone potion with a 30 sec casting time with no worries.

Might want to coordinate your run to the jail when someone is hunting somewhere along the way. Very few safe spots and my invis dropped twice at inopportune times (imagine that.) Was helpful to feign off mobs and then run behind party to have safe spot to heal and invis again. I otherwise did this all solo.

Faction Hits

Killing the Crazed guy gives no faction hits. Killing any of the others is a hard hit with Scaled Mystics and Legion of Cabilis getting worse ( my monk went from amiable to indifferent with the guys in the cell.

what faction is this mob on. i am DE SK trying to do test of the lord quest, my faction in cabalis is warmly to warriors, amiable to SHM and SHD and dubious to NEC. this mob cons threatening. is he on different faction than one i get from bone chip quest? if so which other should i do. thanks

ok. finished this so i will post what i found here in case anyone else is having the same problems i was. the enslaved iksar is on cabilis residents faction which is the hardest apparently to get up. as an example, i got my warrior, SK, shaman and monk faction all to amiable or better before my resident faction got to dubious doing the bone chip quest that raised them all. once i was at dubious to the residents, you can con the NON klok merchants right outside the bank to test it, you can turn in the keys to enslaved iksar to finish this part of the quest. hope this helps someone.

Wrong guy
# Nov 17 2001 at 4:35 AM Rating: Decent
This guy is NOT for the iksar monk shackle quest.

The enslaved iksar is actually for the iksar SK Lord of Pain's Khukri quest. His name is Argest, and you have to give him the 3 keys to enable him to escape from the cell area - in return he gives you a key to activate the pottery wheel-type device in the cell opposite his.

The guy called Veltar, for the monk quest is the 'an iksar slave'.

Oh and if any SKs out there have had trouble getting Argest to talk, saying 'what ancient library' is the trigger....

Monks and SKs both need to do the quest with this guy.

Monks need to create the Stupendous Tome as a part of their Whistling Fists quest, after they've completed their Shackle of Tynnonium. It just isn't listed anywhere on Allakhazam.

www.monkly-business.com has some nice quest links for the shackles and WF.

Attacked
# Jan 18 2001 at 2:48 AM Rating: Decent
The crazed prisoner attacked me both times he appeared. How did you talk to him to find out his name is Veltar? Are you sure that is Veltar and if so, do I just hand him the finished coppernickel key? I have the finished key now, but I don't want to waste it by handing it to the wrong guy. The other Iksar prisoner is named "Digalis, a mystic of Cabilis".

OK guys we need to brainstorm. I have the shackles of bronze and copper as well as the base of key and nickle key part but I am missing one part.

I am missing the third piece to the key. I identified the shackle of copper and it identified as '5th rank of the swifttails' or something like that, so I don't believe this is the third piece.

The base of key (container you get from iksar master) identifies at coppernickel. The nickel key you get in crypt of dalnir identifies as coppernickel. There's got to be one last piece somewhere that identifies as coppernickel and I don't believe the shackle of copper is it.

Anyone with any items that are keys or have 'nickel' or 'copper' in their name please have them identified and see if we can get this last piece please.

As of the Jan 9, 2001 patch, a new mob Goblin Interrogator drops the copper key, the last of three items needed to create the coppernickel key. The Interrogator spawns in the jail cell with the broken down door.
his name is...
