To raise Venril Sathir faction, you do the berzerker whips quest with Captain Rottgrime. I've done it up to amiable so I could do the Hammer of Overthere quest, and my faction went up with the rest of 'em too.

I've heard that the dark elves in OT are on Venril Sathir faction, so as long as you haven't been killing in Karnor's Castle, faction should be fine.
