How weird is it to be a Dark Elf wizard, and not be allowed to train off this guy? He says "I don't deal with dark elves" lol.
I've never killed a dark elf, and am amiable to all Neriak occupants. I can also deal with all merchants in Overthere (think I'm indifferent, can't remember) but this guy just doesn't like me =( How am I gonna be able to do my brain bite quest if I can't even talk to him?

Is he the wizard trainer of The Overthere?
But he's probibly on the Spurned faction since he's a wizard guildmaster. And btw, it's Verant, not Variant.

Seriously, it is on VS faction. And by the way, you can't get the jars for the quest if you're even dubious. (haven't figured out how to raise faction above that as of yet seeing as how the braids quest is broken, will post what con you must be to get jars later)
You can still do the quest if you're dubious. Just have a friend cast invis on you AFTER you have the jars in the trade window, but BEFORE you click trade. By having invis cast as such, your faction will go from dubious to Indifferent, allowing you to finish the quest.
You also get a decent chunk of faction and exp doing this quest. I went from high amiable to warmly, and I got about a half bub of yellow exp. That was at level 50.
