Rosch Val L'Vlor  

In the game. Way to north in cut out in wall. Loc 1304, -26.

Mob at this location spawns every 40-45 minutes; about half the spawn rate of other gnolls.

I killed him twice in 5-6 hours of camping over 3 weekday evenings. He dropped the tome once.

New spawn point is in South Karana at n2496 x 1263 next to 2 trees. It will hang out at the spawn for 20-30 seconds before wandering away. The PH is a "a Rosch Val Gnoll".

it is hard to get this guy to spawn, ive gotten him to spawn once in 5 hours and he didnt drop anything but some coin.

I went in SP to kill Ishva Mal for the spell for my SK (I don't like spending money). Wasn't up so decided to kill other things :) Found this guy and he dropped the Gnoll Hide Tome and Spell: Summon Corpse.

Just bought mine on the seventh hammer for 1k....just thought i might say =)

Got real lucky, a group invited us down past bridge to Level. We were working our way thru and saw him casting in another room. So we decided to kill him. He dropped his Tome on the FIRST kill, and I got a lucky roll :) Now i got this and a Stien SWEET

Ok he is a rare random pop in this room.
He has no set pop time other than that set by the spawn, ie it could be a placeholder it could be him, but he is rare...
If he pops the tome is his rare drop, he can drop any of the common paw drops too, mask, belt etc.

i've killed rosch val l`vlor quite a few times, but my last time was quite an interesting experience. i was doing a corpse run for a friend, after our group had disbanded due to a pretty nasty wipeout, and all of the sudden he pops right on top of me. and he could see invisible. now, being a magician and getting hit twice for 105 a piece is not very fun. i went to hit gate, accidentally right clicked, so i figured i was dead... i cast blaze on him 3 times uninterrupted, no resistance at all, and he dies. just up and dies. dropped a tome AND a mask. just thought that was pretty interesting.

After one death breaking the spawn I came back with a 53 druid friend (i am 51 necro) and killed L'Vlor. Only problem is he dropped a mask =( oh well I hear the tome is a pretty darn rare drop...I am writing this while camping him ;)

If you are clearing his room when he is spawned, nullify magic is a good idea, my pet almost beat himself to death on the damage shields.

I could solopull the gnolls (51 Necro) in the room one by one, pulling them counter clockwise. After letting pet heal up I went in to the room, up in the corner to the right of the door, Rosch didnt aggro from there, STed Rosch, my pet killed his pet rather fast, then its was kind of easy, dispelled and rooted Rosch, put the pet on him and lifetapped to counter his nuking.

He gave a tome and XP :)

Showed up to his place, killed the healer mob a little down the hall (just in case). Whipped out pet, got the tesch mas guarding the door. Then pulled the weak one inside. Lteth mas? then pulled the tesch mal, but in the middle of casting, the tesch mal and tesch val jumped me. I ended up killing the val first and rooting the mal. Killed the mal using root and dot tactic. After about 3 rounds of killing the cleric, mas, and the 3 inside I got a Rosch Val L'vlor begins to cast a spell message. Bout two minutes later I looted his corpse and he had 6 plat and a (gasp) split paw. Not a tome, but a stupid paw that casts dance of the fireflies. I imagine that you would need to kill him at least a few times to get a gnoll hide tome. Because of the way his room is set up this would be VERY difficult if he was up while clearing the room. If you go checking on l'vlor to get a tome, go in there invis to see if hes up. If hes not up you can probably hold the room solo at about level 45. If he is up though, you need to call in friend to dish out some serious damage. This guy had about 2k hitpoints without his pet when I killed him, and if you got agrod by the rest of his room you could pretty much just bend over and kiss your ass goodbye. I didn't take much damage from his spells being a shaman and having magic resist spells and fire resist spells, but any other class would need to find a way to either stop him from casting or put him down very quick. I took about 1k damage from his melee and only about 100 hps damage from his spells and he was slow spelled. Only hits in the 90s but since he is named he tends to have very good stats. This guy is not to be taken lightly. Put him down quick and hope for a tome before you gate out =)

hmmm i was wondering what the whole um...well like is this a really rare spawn and it only drops the gnoll hide tome like really rare? or is it just a spawn with a place holder thats random and might drop the tome or whatever thanx for the help <(0_o)>
