This named crocodile is much tougher than the regulars on the beach of the desert. He is usually taken down within seconds of his spawn.

HEHEHEHE , I just soloed LJ and I'm a 22 SK - without pet btw - he's not as touch as people make him out to be. Unless it's the fact I have all weapons skills, offensive and defensive skills maxed for my level, dunno. *WEG* (wicked evil grin) ..... He dropped the vest but probably give it to some low lvl character.

Most people who play melee have their offense defense and chosen weapon skills maxed at each lvl... its not all the special.

I soloed LJ for the first time the other day (26 Druid). He popped when I had 3 bubbs of mana so I thought I'd give him a go because I have seen how fast people go for him.
Snare was the first atack, that held, then run to get a bit of room and DOT Creeping Crud. I usually go for root after and try and med a bit but he shrugged the root of no problem. So it's DD time, first couple of Careless Lightnings hit for 99, the next for 6... bummer. Mana is not looking good so a bit of running and sitting to try and grab more.
By this time the DOT has worn off, he is at about a third health, I am about four bubbs health and nearly OOM.
Lets try a Fear... no that did'nt work, still coming this way fast even when Snared. One more DD and he gives up the fight.
Time to melee. I hit at best for 12 or 13 with the occasional Velium Shards proc of an extra 12, so this is going to take time.
3 minutes later and I gain a little XP and another LJ Hide Vest. Left ther meats because I have no idea what they are for.
It was a great fun battle and very close, which is what the game is all about.
My advice for what its worth: Don't root or fear if he cons dark blue 'cos they wont stick and have pleanty of mana.

Anyone who uses Lockjaw as a way to kill poor innocent newbies is evil. Some 30 chanter decided to play with the newbs. She promised not to use any spells... Well, me and a bunch of others accepted the duel. Lo & behold, Lockjaw comes out and eats us whole. she's laughing and laughing, then a Sand Giant spawned right behind her and crushed her skull into the floor. That was when Lockjaw DID attack the Sand Giant, and he obviously won. So there I am, watching this (from a distance, of course). The sand giant gets thrashed by a 60 necro, and there's lockjaw's corpse... Well, I looted the vest, the crook, and every kind of meat under the rainbow. He also dropped a No Rent sword, called Sword of the Mermen... I dunno, maybe it was an X-Mas event or other... But I used the sword until I had to log, that is the best weapon this poor little newbie has ever seen... Hits for 40 with delay of only 15. Anyone else ever seen this sword? Oh, and it was a H2H sword, weird, huh... Picture was just like a rusty long sword...

You're joking me? 15 dly and 40dmg? The Plane of Time raids don't get that good dps. That is nuts. I'd say you got truly lucky and btw if i got that sword i would NEVER logg off. Ever.

I have a 41 warrior on zeb server and let me tell you one thing. Warriors cannot solo consistently. We just can't. Great hp and ac do not make up for the utter lack of magic. We have no spells with witch to separate us from the mob and still do damage. We have to be right next to them(of course you could riddle them with arrows but that takes forever and a good long lasting sow) in order to hurt them. I can solo about 2 cyclopses before i have to rest for maybe an hour to get all that hp back. Not to mention if you have no sow and you are taking on a large or fast moving mob your screwed if you are not on the zone line. Maybe at leevl 20 you could solo a white, but nothing above that. Eevntually you will only be able to solo lower lvl db's and then lb's and finally greens. Eventually you will eb able to get more exp and loot in a grp than alone. At your level though you could partner up with a cleric or better yet with a druid and fight with them. However you will eventually not be able to do this successfully because of the fact that we are meatshields and do not do the bulk of the damage to a mob. You'll need more and more people who have a higher damage output than you (monks or rangers) and you will be better off with a good well rounded group. Hope this helps.

While fighting in Oasis, I happened upon a Pristine Giant Scarab Carapace. I held on to this, and upon reaching 19, I went to Kaladim and got a Scarab BP. It too is 12 AC, and is great for a halfling druid. Sorry, it's only wearable by us short folk. Plus, you get a good faction boost with it. Talk to Vacto Molunel at the Warrior guild.

Does anyone know what kind of HP lockjaw has? and what does he hit for and how often? If anyone knows it would be greatly appreciated

i recently soloed him as a 24 pally, he hit for 52 tops and had only decent hp for his level. i only had 65% hp but still killed him with lay. he spawns two dunes south of dock.

I killed Lockjaw the other day and he didn't have the vest or the crook on him but what he did have was different meats like; gnome meat,high elf meat,dwarven meat stuff like that.

I think LockJaw LOVES me because I was standing at the docks once with my enchanter, and he spawned, not near me, but RIGHT on me. I was Sowed, and others were around, so I was fortunate.
That's not all tho. I had been playing for sometime, and the people in my group had to go (this was later on the same day.) It had been about 2 or 3 hours, and I was medding at docks again, when BAM, LockJaw spawns RIGHT on me AGAIN!. Once more, I lived to tell the tell, but still, two times, right one me, in one day? That's just weird to me hehehe... =/

I found his corpse on the shore between the lake (with spectre isle) and the inn. I think he might spawn in between the dunes there. And yes, the corpse still had the vest on it :)

Lockjaw is nice helper agains SGs in Oasis he Double Hits for 50 DMG !! OkOk you have a great Problem if Charm went off, but thats real funny if you hear newbies shout : "Lockjaw is Fighting a Sand Giant !" "Must be a Bug" "Anyone charmed the Sand Giant and throw it aganist Lockjaw !!"

I was hunting crocs and caimens in Oasis with a group the other day with a group. Suddenly, our monk, who was pulling and had a habit of bringing in more than we could handle, started yelling that Lockjaw was comming. At the time, all I knew about Lockjaw was that he was a big (*^#@&* croc.
The strange thing though, is that I've heard people say they blasted him to death or kited him around, but I couldn't get anything to stick on him and neither could our shamen or wizard. I was trying to Snare him because he kept running away. Every few seconds, it would flash 'Lockjaw flees in terror!' and he would break for the docks or the water. We eventually killed him by chasing after him and beating him to death. He dropped the vest, which the shamen got, and another item that wasn't the crook. All in all, a weird spawn, but not bad xp.

Everytime I've seen him spawn it's been between the Dock and the Gypsy camp towards crossroads.
I soloed this guy at lvl 16 with my twinked monk. Was a close fight but I won after shammy friend slow LJ and sped up me. Gave the Vest away... Took 20 min of saying free vest before a cleric took it off my hands...could not even give away this crap now a days.

just this nite while in oasis saw lockjaaw popped 3 times in less than 30minutes. first one was taken out real quick by a solo monk right by the lake near the inn and he dropped the crook and some meat. i shared some halfing parts with a high lvl halfling druid. and 5mins later he popped again right at the docks. i ran there as quick as i could and he was almost down for count from a 17 paladin (high lvl druid helped out). i always wanted to have a Lockjaw as a pet so I took a poke at him to send in my summoned pet but low and behold i hit him for 10pts of damage and he was slained by me =p. The nice druid handed me the vest and 20 mins later Lockjaw was down by the lake headed towards inn again. This time he swallowed my summoned pet whole in 2 seconds. and alas as i tried to charm him he resisted =x. well he did drop vest again. but never seen him popped so many times in such short period. well happy hunting from this 18 season enchanter =)

This is kinda odd.... but every time I turn around soemone wants to give me something new. I must ahve that sad pathetic look on my face that people just feel inclined to help. Waaaaaayyy back in Kelethin as a young Rogue some man saw that I had no armor, so he gave me Blackened Chail Alloy (AC 16)... a short time later some Player gave me a better weapon Crystalo Grinder (Dmg 9 Dly 27) and then as I was passing thru Oasis and decided to camp someone shouts "Who wants LJ's Vest?" There was no immediate response so I figured 'what the heck', and said I do. The man GIVES it to me. No charge. Unbelievable. Soooo I dunno what to tell you guys. I guess I just got lucky. Strangest thing huh?

I sit in oasis.... and wait for some newbie druid to start Kiting a DW croc or DW caiman (stuff that actully gives me exp) and kick the **** outta it before they can do anything. I just say . . .whoops . . thought u were running. . and do it again to someone diffrent ! I accidently (yeah right) did it to Lock Jaw too, muaha.

Come on rallos, then KS someone, see what suprise you get, all that nice armor and equip you have, would be gone the second some nice PK group sees you. Or even more fun, let you take LockJaw, hehe, get you soooo low on hp, then let you run, i wouldnt waste mana on snare, knowing your a twinked warrior, should have good mr, just nuke you to hell and back.

sold it for 54pp and and was given some blckened alloy spalders, can't complain. It got me more than a couple of honey meads that day.
