So as I understand it I have to run my SK into BW to get a crummy knight's sword? HEH figures the helm is 11ac +5 int w/ a buncha +5 saves on it. Sword must be no drop, right? Any try multiquesting this with a high lvl buddy?

I see that there is some confusion here on the knights. The knights in the FM or the OT are NOT the same as the ones in the Burning Woods. The ones in the burning woods are MUCH higher level than the ones in OT or FM. Also the ones in the FM do not drop the sword. They only drop the sword from the Sarnak Knights in the Burning Wood. I can solo the ones in the FM or the OT with ease. I can only solo one of these in Burning woods by fear/kiting and then just as I have only enough mana left for a FD, I hit them with a Harm Touch. IF I get two on me.....well they make an SK meatloaf out of me.
i was sitting with my group killing giants one came up no one else would touch him in the other groups so after we were done with the giant i pulled him over and shouwed him what agoup of level 30 can do to him. hehe one person in ower group got scared and almost logged on with there level 45 cleric. he is no wear near as bad as the criegs or how ever it is spell but that sob didnt drop the weapon
they got a bunch af hps ( still less than a 39 tiger ). I'm a necro and with dooming darkness (300 dot ), vampiric curse ( 189 dot ), Boil blood ( 506 dot ), and Venom of the snake ( 406 dot ) and pet i can't kill it if i don't shock of poison on it a few time ! ( think that i keep fear stacked on it every time so the dot deal their full damage and not their 2/3's ) Take care with em they are fast and hit very hard !
i died while soloing a knight with my warrior at lvl 42...you hear a lot of big talk on these forums but i`ll tell these guys are tuff..8 20 PRIM 11 25 OFFHAND ..full crafted
My group was campin giants in FM when one of these wandered up and started smackin around our wizard. Several nukes later it was a smolderin pile of goo on the side of the hill, but it got some good shots in. It beat my lvl 30 shaman down to about 1/4 half before he caved. Conned red, so the given levels are pretty close. Didnt resist anythin that I saw, also didnt drop anythin, the cheap SoB. hehe
I've killed many Sarnak Knights in The Overthere. They can not outrun TBoots. They take about 4 or 5 300+ nukes to kill. Not too tough and resist rarely (Wizard nukes).
I've begun nuking, running until my Temp Flux staff says I'm out of range, stopping, casting my nuke (not even turning around), and running again. I don't even have to snare them.
They are social and will engage if they see you attacking another Sarnak.
Rather more like 1500-1700 I would say. 3 to 4 nukes (330dam), then I sit down and wait while my pet takes him on. Usually demands one pet heal though. Been soloing them for 2 lvls now, although I do think they are a pain (better than rhinos and tigers though), so I usually stay away. Never got anything except some silvers->4pp. /Jarven Soulburner<Draconic Tribe>, 38 Magician VZ
I had the knight sword drop today in the BW Sarnak fort....have killed tons wandering BW and never saw one...but at the fort first i killed had it...too bad am a necro and had no use for it...Just be wary of pulling at that fort as i was just checking the place out and ever single sarnak i pulled could outrun me in Jboots...so whether another sarnak was sow buffing or not i don't know:)...also met that klyseer sarnak who is nasty at that fort i pulled em and got hit for 551 off the bat...apparently he can harm touch even if yer not near em...he then proceeded to fear my pet and resisted my snare so i feared him and memed gate as that was enough for me to see:)
I have completed this quest. Gained my knight's sword off a Sarnak Knight within the Sarnak Fort that guards the Chardok zone within Burning Wood. Never found them outside the fort, not even the ones at the entrance. My friends and I went inside the fort (invisibly) to a room all the way on the left where we had found a Knight. There are several places you can pull to inside, but be sure to have a method for snaring/rooting, as they will get help in short order if they run. If the knights are wielding a sword, then you likely found it. I remember getting a Runic Carver here too, but don't remember what mob it was from.
Be careful getting there, though, run along the zone edge to the NE corner. Running through the middle of the zone is an invitation to the dragons to have you for lunch (they do see invisible).
The knights in The Overthere may drop a black pearl and nothing else. Killed hundreds of them and got a few BPs. Loot ranged between few gp to about 4pp. Great xp.
Sarnak Knights are between lvls 33-37. The ones you encounter in the Overthere tend to be closer to 33, while the ones in the Burning Woods tend to be closer to the end of their lvl spectrum. But it is still possible to run into higher/lower lvl versions of the Knights in both zones.
Sorry d00d, sarnak knights don't spawn in Ill Omen, you're probably thinking of a Lego or Dragoon. BTW the earring of station can drop off of any sarnak on the Kunark continent, it is just an extremely rare drop...
i believe these guys run as fast as the dorfs in west commons do that change crafted. i harmonied an snared one, they BOTH aggroed, so i was gettin whacked and took me a few casts to throw a snare on the other one. after that i charmed a griffin, and sicced it on one, while i charmed whacked the other. btw, that was the second time, first time i died, heh :p. The Knights are quite slow compared to other mobs in The Overthere. Im a Necro with Jboots and at LvL 29 I have been soloing the Knights, Only try this with SOW, and use Clinging Darkness cause they resist it alot. Don't send in your pet till its really mad at you, then Boil blood and run around while pet kicks it in the bum.
This guy is talking out of his ***. At 29 most spells will be resisted and a Necro Pet won't last long as they hit very hard for their level. Nice Folklore though.
No, he is not "talking out his ***". You are a stupid flamer because you haven't think twice of the tactic he uses. It's a risky one, indeed, but it can work : make a mob aggro you a lot, by casting "high-aggro & high-resisted" spells, then have your mob stab it from behind. It's called reverse-kitting. Mages uses it a lot with a water pet.
I used a similar, but safer, tactic with my ranger : snaring a rhino, then fearing it two or three times and have a rogue-partner backstabbing with much joice. It works wonderfully. Even when the fears are resisted, the mob is so pissed off that he doesn't care to attack the only real threat (the little rogue).
The knights do not drop whips, only the berserkers do. Turn 4 in to the undead marine captain and get the no drop, Guard of the Marines. Not a bad shield for a newbie. :) The shield does not poof when you log either.
