I just found someone who was camping them and they let me loot!And while i was waiting i got real lucky and one droped a harpoon of the depths and she had one already and there lore so i got it!!!!

I think i got some blood gill scales from a corps that i found laying in lake ill omen. I think it came from this type of Mob. What is it for i know its a quest. can some 1 post if thay know who to take this lore item too.

I have spent a couple nights hunting these with some friends. They do range up to around 40th level. I was grouped with a 38th level bard and he was reporting their con to be yellow to him about every 4th one.
The best way I have found to pull them is to send the tank out (me in this case) with levitate and sow. Swim down to the lower right hand corner where there are 2 of them and pop one with an arrow. The swim to the surface and run like hell.

My group consisted of myself (34th warrrior), 30th shammy, and 35th druid. Our original plan was to send the druid down to harmony/snare to break up the double spawn. Unfortunatly if snare doesnt work they will destroy the druid before they can make it to the shore.

So when I pull 2 up to my small group we have one of the casters kite around while the other caster and myself finish off the first one. After the first one goes down I start in on the remaining one. Good experience with little risk.
Once we had a system worked out it was steady experience with little down time. Sadly out of the 40 or so we killed none dropped the Harpoon. The Ancient coin was dropped 1 out of 4 times like a previous poster said. Loot was around 4pp total. Not a bad hunt for exp purposes but Hill Giants might be a better bet if you are short on plat.

Save yourself the trouble of dying to much!
As a lvl 45 enchanter i am able to solo these things by pulling with mez, and just stun them, and only nuke once.
They cant do ****, they are just stunned all the time. Just the same as if you hunt the druids in wc for example. you pull to break it, then wait a little while. and go for the next one.
But when ur lvl 45 you will not get resisted, or you can but.. rarely.
So pulling to shore is just a waste of life and time. Fight underwater, using Illusion: Water Elemental, or Enduring Breath.

Hey there, just hopped on to say that the level range listed above is slightly off (listed from 35-38)... I went to the Lake, thinking I could charm kite a pair of them. I was very surprised to find out that my charm song (Solon's Song of the Sirens) was not able to charm a mob of that level. Solon's will charm up to L39 mobs, so that puts the gob I failed to charm (failed, mind you, not resisted...) at least at L40.

Needless to say, I didn't survive the pull to find someone that could verify if it was higher...

They drop about 4pp max, 39 reasearch runes/words/pages, Ancient Coins about 1 in 5 kills, and a Harpoon of Depths (8/25 2dex 20hp piercing) rarely, about once in a hundred kills.

Their a great necro hunt... I've killed them from level 45-48 and im still getting awesome xp.

When I was fighting these guys, I had to only kill 7 of them before i got 2 harpoon of depths but since they are lore i let someone else loot it.

Let us remember that the harpoon of the depths is lore, so most people killing bloodgills will let you loot the harpoon if they already have one. I was lucky enough to be in the area of a high lvl druid who was soloing these things and he let me loot it. It was quite happy selling after that, since I already had 2 ssoy's 8=)

Killing them raises pirates of gunthark which includes the pirates in oot, firiona vie and some in timorous. I am warmly with these pirates and was wondering how. Killed a pirate lost gunthark, killed a bloodgill other night ******** around raised it. I used to kill bloodgill a bunch.

At 43 I could take these guys two at a time and kite them on land. Since there are two around each structure in the Lake, they are easily pulled together. Of course, levitate, SoW, and snare don't hurt =). Every once in awhile you'll see one with a big spear in his hand, looks like the Jade Prod. What it is though is the Harpoon of the Depths (8/25 piercing +2 dex +20 hp). Nice weapon, sells for 1k, great for rogues with weapon envy. =)

I killed these guys for a while as a 45 necro. Pretty easy for their level, and they don't swim fast (contrary to the above posting I was able to outswim them with jboots and a 200 swimming). There are at least 8 spawns around the (unimplemented) entrance to Veksar, but be careful trying to pull the ones flanking the entrance because you will get the Marauder too.

They drop Ancient Coins for some Firiona Vie quest.

What attacked you was a Bloodgill Marauder, they can meele as high as 97 and have about 2500 hp.

I have killed one trough extensive kiting with my level 42 Ranger and still I ended up at 1 bub hp and OOM.

They are tough and nasty, it didnt dorop anything either
