LOL...25 Warrior and 22 Warrior had fun beating him down. Only took a few minutes. Dropped cyclops toes. hmmmm... Can't wait to meet his daddy with my 45 Pally. PAYBACK & REVENGE are in the future !!
opps I accidently pressed enter twice and it popped up
Recently, I have been raising a druid named Radha on Terries Thule, she is creeping up fast with levels and out of curiousity; Broon and his two brothers isn't it?What are his two brothers names? It has been so long since I have actually tried to kill them. Please tell me, I am very anxious to know, also where do they spawn? Do they have to be triggered? Thank-you very much
Brother Droon and Papa Proon. From what I've seen, kill Broon and Droon pops, kill Droon and Proon pops.
P.S. Broon hits like a wuss. Hit's my lvl 25 warrior for 24 tops, most hits were for 2-4 dmg, but managed to knock about 750 hps off me in a successful solo attempt. (111 Agi, 500+ ac)
which took me out cuz i began to solo him and have dual wield *mistake* on instead of babs. i had one bub of life gone, and thot oh well he's blue... what the heck...
my corpse still lies... will pick up in the mornin.
As youse might know, I quit EQ around October or December or something like that. Been like that for months. I might be getting it back soon though again yay hehe. Anyway, when I last left, I was very much able to solo Broon with my level 26 necro. Let me explain:
First off, if you wanna camp Broon, I suggest you wait for him to run down by the end of the mountain ramp that leads to Highpass Hold. He spawns in that little valley under the last parts of the ramp, so when he spawns, he'll run slowly down and you'll see him heading for the ramp. Then from there he heads down to the waters by the bridge. What I did was I killed him by the waters, ran with my pet since Droon spawns like, INSANELY fast, and zoned. Then I came back, and ran up to the ramp and meditated while Droon despawned and so did their father. Then I would just camp Broon there. He spawns quickly, so you should always meditate immediately from defeating him. Also remember, if you're an evil character, that paladin guy comes nearby at that sign post so just be careful to camp closer to the ramp.
My strategy is the generic necromantic one. DoT, Fear, Blah blah blaaaaah.. simple enough. Just make sure to keep Darkness on him. He has the habit of chasing you instead of your pet constantly.
I killed this guy with a lvl 35 druid(me a 47 Cleric) Was easy and fun to slain him in 2 sec, but right after, we met his Father Proon(Much higher lvl was blue to me Red to Druid) We finally got him after 20 min Root and med. you should advice that Daddy come Verrry angry after you killed him.
Killed him easy with a 22 rogue a 19 druid and myself an 18 warrior who had a griffawn as a pet, none of us had to do much really he just laid down and died after the beating the buffed griffawn gave him
What this person failed to mention is how the griffawn survived the fight, had enough time to heal itself then suddenly broke the charm and whiped out the still healing/medding part. ;)
They make *really* great pets, but no way in heck would I ever be crazy enough to buff one.
I tried to mez this guy at 21 to debuff before a fight and got this message: "This creature cannot be mesmerized (with this spell)." or something like that. Any explanations?
Perhaps not mez, but I have a gnoll hide lariat that procs stun and it has worked on Broon several times, and even a Hill Giant once (gave me the time needed to run for my life).
For a druid anyway. Have a friend pull a griffawn to near the druid ruins. Snare the griffawn, and befriend it. Then pull it to Broon and heal as necessary. If the griffawn is 16+ it will thrash Broon. but if its 15- then you are going to need to heal it. I've killed it 4 times today with 2 16's.
Oh yeah, Droon will kill your griffawn so don't try it.
Was able to solo Broon at 26. Buff self & pet, pull with Tashini, root, dot, nuke, nuke, nuke, dead. Only real problem is when you breaks root. He hits pretty hard and fast.
Should i get a griffawn as a pet and find him then dot and lightning him to death or what im not sure but i do want to fight him please give me an answer.
i saw him for the first time and conned -- he conned yellow so i asked about his magic resist -- fairly low but still good for his lvl. i suggest using malise as a pull and run away so you can root him -- once rooted cast affliction and tainted breath -- if root is still holding at this point i suggest medding -- or you can waist mana to lower his HP real good with spirit strike -- try to avoid a melee confrontation for he is a big boy and hits hard -- usefull tip -- i did this with a fresh SoW and three mana buffs -- Insight, Clarity, Gift of Thought -- you can do it with out the mana buffs but makes for a long fight and possible griff or HG encounters -- one last note he runs faster than most mobs so the kite distance is much longer -- avoid newbie hang outs like the bridge unless zoning -- GL to you and swift victory!!
I might try to kill Broon on my 25 ranger... his spawn is about 7mins or so.. Should be easy.. here are my tactics to kill him-- pull with snare- root--root and snare stack-- ignite 3 times- then melee until low health and root and stand back and heal yourself- then when good enough health go back in and finish Broon off... pretty easy.. VERY easy if i have a necro or cleric to fear him a couple times.. GL and safe fighting! =)
I was soloing Broon, and each time after I killed him either Droon, or rarely, Proon would spawn, wander a bit then run to the NK zone and despawn. Droon was level 30, and Proon was 33 or higher. (Red to me, level 30 cleric) Other than avaiding those two, I would just Enstill, and Wrath untill dead. The spawn time is just right so by the time mana and life is full, Broon is spawing again.
I (a level 20 wizard) partnered up with another level 20 wizard and we ping ponged him out of existance easily. I stood near the end of the ramp, he stood at the end where the plains open up, waited to see who he aggroed on first and proceeded to ping pong him with lightning bolts. He didnt resist us but maybe twice in 8 kills. hes good exp, but if we had another, we could have had time to med between pops. we had to chase him for a while after medding
Me (20 shaman) and my friend(20 warrior) took broon with ease. I stacked 2 dots, she jumped in.. I healed her..Broon's dead. Usually took most, if not all of my mana, but she'd be at full health or pretty close.
I partnered with a lvl22 Mage yesterday(I am a lvl20 Ranger) and every 6 minutes we opened a fresh can of whoop-**** on Broon. Between my Snare and her Earth Pet's root spell we keep him from frenzying her while I used arrows, magic(ranger spells are so sad...) and melee to support the pet. Only once did tragedy strike and that was when she tried to solo, went oom and lost the pet, he took me to 12 hit points before I killed him(VICTORY!), then a Lion Patriarch had me for lunch...oops. All in all an awesome camp for well organized 20-22's.
what our tactics was where this... we have a lv 20 rogue (me) lv 17 ranger and a 20 enchanter.. we all have SOW(this was needed) i had a weak str buff (from 90-115) no shamans around... when broon comes up walkin the ranger pulls with snare (which did not work but MAYBE once) so he runs up to the ranger and enchanter cast quikness i backstab him for about 75-82 with lots of successful double attacks for 17-20 ranger hit a a little too just got duel wield usin a pgt and some iksar type sword i backstab pull him on me and evade then the chanter start castin and broon chases him (we got SOW) and i just run behind him and backstab easy kill ) takes me down about a bub and a half...
Me, being a lvl 21 paladin, along with a 25 bard took this guy out today. He was very fun to fight, I kept thinking "Im killing a friggin Cyc!", anyhow he hit for upper 40's I believe, and I had to step back and heal myself. Good to note, as long as you hit him he aggros on you..therefore if there's a warrior and a ranger, the warrior could step back without even being persued.
hehe i luv fighting broon ... but the "he wont aggro on you thing is not true we had a group of 17 ranger i was a 20 rogue and we had a 20 enchanter... the ranger decided to go pullin and pulled 2 crag spiders and some gnolls yep so i had a spider attackin me an broon too(he hit for about 45(when he did it)) his accuracy wasnt to good .. but i only had half life when he came and the poison was wearin me down (i only have a base of like 450 life) he chased me down :0( hehe but then again i had a str buff and was backstabbin him for 76 - 82 (serrated bone dirk)
Was taking this guy out today. I am a lvl 19 Druid, I just snared him, Doted him then DD him, this got his attention firmly on me, then my colleages (a lvl 19 Monk & lvl 22 Bard) Chase him a beat him to death, I usually ended up having to re snare a few times and DD him a bit but we took him 6 times in about 30mins and nice xp. (got 2 toes for those mages who are interested)
I tried it at 20th level Mage and it was a no-go. Didn't have enough mana to keep the pet alive and cast enough firebolts to take him down. I has to gate. It was easy with just another caster (earth pet tanking for us). Maybe you could solo him by chain casting fire pets....otherwise I say the battle is in Broon's favor.
At 24th it was very do-able. The level 24 earth pet with duel wield had enough hit points so that it would need maybe 1 or 2 heals during the fight. Casted about 5 or 6 firebolts or four Shock of Spikes and Broon went down. i was very low on mana by the end.
I tried him at 20 and it too was a bad idea, got him down to about 25% though. Camback a while later, about 25 or so and whiped him, and diddn't use too much mana, he has a farely good spawn time and I was FM with my pet full HP by the next fight
#Anonymous,
Posted:Jul 03 2000 at 2:19 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) hey, I'm a level 17 mage on Rathe server, I have found that mages can solo undercons and such fairly easilly, I got from 16-17 in one day killing Griffawns ins NK, so, I'm wondering if a level 20 mage could take this guy, we get a new dmg. shield and a better pet healing spell, and our level 20 DD does 143 dmg. anyone know if it's possible?
how do you hunt broon? i know there are broon groups sometimes. group killed him along river near druid ring and about 10 seconds after he died droon poped(was also the second person who looted broon got off his corpse and it poofed since all on it was gone) and he ran directly at me, luckily i had SoW and ran like hell to the bridge shouting droon to bridge. does a older bro of his always spawn when he gets killed?
Conned yellow to me at lvl 23. I fought him twice in a row amd lost both times. He resisted darkness about 75% of the time and i only got fear to work 1 out of 6 times. Both times i only got him down to 1/4 life before he ripped through the pet and came at me hard, hit 48's non-stop till i was dead. This guy reminds me of Dorn and how some people kill him easy and others get smacked down. Granted their are 2 Dorns, so that could be alot of the differences with him. I will head back to Broon to get some payback now that i have sop and a new pet. Well, as soon as i find the words of Allure and someone to make the pet spell.
My wife, Pandoraa, and I are both lvl 21 and we took him fairly easily. Granted, I'm a Warrior and she's a Necro with a pretty nice pet, but still... He would hit me on average about every 3rd or 4th time for 38-48 damage, the rest of the time he was hitting me right around 7-9. And he missed a good amount of times. Not a lot, but a decent amount. The 2 of us took him a few times in about 30 mins and neither of us got below half health.
I killed Broon with my 17th paladin in a group with 3 others, warrior, shaman, and druid all 16th level. He resisted over half the spells cast on him, and we were barely able to take him down after he nearly killed the warrior (who ran away, heh) and I used LOH, had 1 bubble of my 2nd full bar of health left at the end. Looked at my parsed log and he did 1400 total damage just to me, so be careful with this guy :)
