I had my level 20 Iksar Necro in EK fear kiting some spiders and griffawns. While chasing down a spider I stubmled across this guy (yellow Con) and agroed him and his minions (2 LB cons) when I was already LOM.
Feared him off and killed the minions.
He didn't find me again for over an hour but when he did it just so happened that it was during a 60 second bio break I was taking. I came back to find my toon at 12% health with a dead pet.
Loading... Please Wait.
After the CR I went back and killed him 3 times just for spite.

Last night in EK after me and my partner (lvl 19 ranger) level'd we were bored with crags and griffawns.. we had a level 14 wizz with us and Uinan says to the group .. this named chief guy is yellow to me wanna take him.. I said sure, though he's prolly a caster.. me and the wiz positioned ourself near the bridge just in case and Uinan pulled it.. I snared it and kept blasting it with invoke lightning. Stupid thing rooted me and Uinan, resisted the spells from the wiz and took off running. The wizard didn't get rooted though, lol go fig, and he ran after the puppy till I got free and killed it. Too bad Uinan went LD like 2 seconds before I killed it. The exp was okay but the loot sucked, rusty mace and some rain water stuff. All in all it took a whole minute maybe less to kill it. pfft The funniest part of that night I think was Uinan getting attacked by some other PC that got charmed by an evil eye lol.
-oops forgot to say that it didn't even take a full bubble of my health.. Uinan had 2 gone though he was acting tank and the wiz was barely touched. All my mana was gone though lol.

Just an Update...
I'm now lvl 20 and Llapheria is lvl 19...we had this guy tonight. We took him out really easy. The loot was still horrible, but nearly a full blue bubble of exp for hear, and 3/4's of one for me.

Conned dark blue to my 29 Druid. 3 spells and a couple of melee and he was dead. Little loot. May be good for xp but not very interesting.
At 25 I take on the whole pack of them, all the named gnolls that hover in that one spot, no trouble. I'm a druid but I cast/melee Chiefie (only) to death and melee the kin all while they try and beat on me.
But yeah loot generally sucks even if I do get even for those random attacks when I was passing through the Karanas at a younger season. If nothing else it's kinda neat taking on a whole pack laughing while they become so much rain water and kibble piles.

Uh, you are level 49. The mob is level 21. If you couldn't take it down quick, there would be something definitely wrong with you.

I am a level 20 Druid and ran into him by accident last night. I was able to con him, to which he was a yellow. It was raining, and thus came too close which caused him to attack. Had my flamefist going (always have that on me when hunting), cast my brambles on me and a swarm on him. He started to beat on me so I ran and turned and cast Careless Lightning on him. Could not get a snare to hold, but after enough blasts I had him running. One final blast put him down for which I was rewarded some small amount of gold and a rune of velious. I have no idea what this rune is for.

He conned yellow to me at 19 and i whipped him around like a doll!! im not even a good soloing character because shamans arent good at soloing until their first pet, a root and a dmg 79 spirit strike and he was down for the count. hes level 21 and he tried to cast drowsty for god sakes, every spell he shot i resisted. PATHETIC,

He seems a rather easy spawn by what I have read. Just had to make a comment about Shamans not being a very good soloing class until they get a pet.. At lvl 19 Shamans are one of the best soloing class in the game. It is possible they are the best soloing class between the lvls of 14 and 19. At 14 Shaman's get two spells that make them able to go toe to toe with mobs, that most people can't. Walking sleep to slow them down, disempower to make them hit you softer. These two spells makes them hit you less, lowers there str/attack, and AC, so you can hit them harder. If toe to toe not working root and nuke, and DoT.

My wiz just turned lvl 20, and I came across ol' cheif. Conned yellow, but I had read he was easy. That is the truth. Root wasn't resisted. Force shock wasn't resisted so I opened with 175 damage (not bad for a lvl 20!). This knocked him down to well under half hp! Lighting bolted him and then finished him off with a low level DD spell. Easy.
Gave me one blue bar of xp I think too. Nothing for loot.

I was just runnin through and saw this named gnoll. On a whim, I rooted him and nuked him back to the stone age. He managed to get off a couple DoT's but nothing that I was too worried about. I think that was at 29, he was green to me, but I like to kill named mobs, especially gnolls, goblins, orcs and such. Didnt drop anythin but a couple gp's.

ihave killed this guy ince lv 20. every time he was yellow to me at 20.killed the mutt at 21 every time i passed him, alway conned white at 21.
and finally at lv 22, the puppy cons blue every sigle time. now i know that there is usually a lv range on every single mob in the game, but as far as i can tell, this chief is always 21(after ove 50-60 killings of this guy i outta know. BTW-he drops gold every so often but all averaged out i only got around 3-4 siver per kill,with a few times only recieving 6 copper,not really worth killing unless you just wanna kill the stupid dog for exp, but since all his family is green at this level, even hnting them for exp is pointless.
another thing to point out, vexen and grenix mucktail spawn here as well, and i have found out that killing them here will cause them to pawn in high hold pass within 30 min, i would come down and kill them while a guild member would wait at the gnolls in high hold and sure enough within 15-30min they would spawn, so if you are camping gnolls for a pgt or cds i recomend killing them here and saving yourself so time waitng. i guess thts about all the info anyone needs on them. all of this info is from my own personal experience so i can personally confirm it. still kill the chief every so often including the rest of his brood just to help whatever por sap is camping the spawn in high hold, and if i get to high hold and no one is camping i wait around for a min or two and pick up a quick couple of hundred plat(only once has it not been camped and they both spawned right after each other and then grenix spawned again, so i shouted across thzone since i already had both and they are lore(ended up killing him myself and letting a lv 12 loot him (the lv 12 was extremely happy needless to say)anyways, if your every on druzzil ro serverlook me up.

btw--when i killed vexen an grenix and then grenix again i was down to less than a bub of health after all that so if your gonna hunt them in high hold solo, bring bandaids(i went through 3 pets by the time all 3 were killed)jut thought i'd add this cause its not that easy to kill 3 mucktails in hh at lv 22(near imposible if you dont get at least a little rest in between)safe travels and i hope this helps your hunting

conned yellow to my 20 druid.I med up full cast shield of barbs and had other stay on boosts on me.I hit him with Stinging swarm then melee and ignites. I had him but he rooted me so when he ran i coulnt follow and 2 kind souls finished him from a ways from me

Last night, I zoned into EK from NK with just a smidgen of health left, after barely killing a griffawn. (The griff actually died from a DoT as I was scrambling for the zone line, but by the time the message that he died came up, I was committed. I zoned.)
Chief Sanre and another named gnoll immediately started beating on me and I had to zone back to NK. I guess my only point is, even with barely a visible sliver of health left, even though mobs get to start beating on you at a zone line before you are finished zoning, and even though I was only level 20 and this guy had help, he wasn't able to do me in. I escaped him. If he'd been a level 16 griffawn by himself, I wouldn't have survived, I would think.

I don't know about other classes but 2 lvl 17 Druids took him with out any problems we both had about 50% mana left and he didn't hit either one of us. For a caster he is pretty dumb he chased us around and hardly ever casts. Just Snare him give one DoT and then Nuke with Ignite. If he is lvl 21 he must not have a lot of HP. Really easy kill.

Me (17 Bard) and two 18's (Druid and Ranger) camped him and killed him several times last night. He conned red to all of us but he really was a piece of cake. Usually the tank would take about 1 bubble of damage before the Chief died... Pretty easy for a red I think...

After getting trained by him I spotted him and called for help with revenge. 24 necro helped out my 19 bard. Pet slapped him silly, never cast once but he dropped like 3gp. You'd think a chief would have some loot.

He is right about the mucktails aggroing on everything and you can use this to your advantage if you are a druid. Snare a mob and run a large arc around the Mucktails camp, you will not be in their aggro radius but your snared prey will pass through it. You just run off a little and they will follow and kill your target and then usually run after another mob if you pull them out into the open area of EK. You will have cleared the entire camp with a simple snare spell and then you can kill things as they respawn.

Im a level 29 paladin on the Druzzil Ro server. The chief still cons blue to me. He is extremely easy to kill. The Flamepaw's in HH are green to me and fight harder than the chief does. Another thing about these Mucktails, they try to kill everything that happens to pass by their camp, spiders, mist wolves...anything. This can be a good thing. Just let the spiders and wolves take some of the health away and then attack.

Remember, blue cons at lvl 25+ go down 7 levels :) So at 26 a blue could be anywhere 18-25.

The chief is a shaman and WILL root you :) He's not too hard when he's by himself, and be forewarned he cons BLUE to my lvl 26 druid so I doubt his max lvl is 21. Also, beware of his mucktail buddies that like to help him out.

Umm just so you know things that con blue can be as low as 5 lvls below you. So 21 can still be his lvl.
