I'll confirm what everyone else is saying. Yes he does spawn at the two Dervish camps in South Ro, the north ones, the ones closer to the water. It may take awhile and you may be tempted go look for him wandering around, but just stay at the camps and he will pop.

For anyone who decides to actually do the monk shackle quests, like me, you can indeed get the ronin to pop at dervish camp 2. He spawned there for me today after wiping the camp once.

Must drop 2 different versions of the sash, on no drop, the othe quest only, as I could not hand in the regular sash to get my pattern book.
He spawns in the Dervish Camps on the Oasis side of South Ro. + 2998 - 928
The Torn Sash he drops is now needed for the Froglok Cultural armor book quest. Which means I'll need to waste an hour or two hunting him unless I bring my ranger and frog to the zone, then do the log-in -out method. (Done this so many times in the past I was hoping it was finally over......)

I've seen this guy so many times in Southern Ro and Oasis no where near the derv camps just walking around with no care in the world. The 3rd shackle quest is long enough they need to up his spawn...

I was looking for my torn sash today, and camped the two derv sites in oasis. I had a ranger friend help with tracking, although it never was a factor. I killed all dervs at both camps for about 2 1/2 hours with no probs, except all the orcs that would aggro as they walked by. Finally, at the south camp, a young Ronin popped and quickly died, giving me my sash. Lest any one despair over finding this npc, just keep the two camps broken, and he'll pop eventually. Good hunting to all.
While waiting for my corpse to pop outside of the sand pit in the oasis, I noticed this guy walking by. He kept attacking any and ever mob in his path, even if he was low on health. I watched him die, and then saw another few spawn and kill themselves the same way as the other did.
Now I need him for my monk, and went looking. Now he has promptly disapeared off the face of the friggen planet... grrr...
I killed the cutthroats about 4 times and saw nothing of him.

Yep..just got my torn sash in Oasis. Didn't even get thru 2 spawn cyclse on Derv camps before he popped at the Northern most camp. Took me about 15 min. =)

I am a level 36 Monk. Do not attack Arthikus, I attacked him and now he is kicking my butt. I Conned him and thought he was green, but his pet is green, he is dark blue. He mind controls you and hits hard. This is in Oasis near Dervish camps.

Dont kill everything just kill all the dervs in both camps i did it and 3 waves i had ronin i did it again for 4 other monk friends of mine same all times 3 waves of dervs only both camps and bang theres ronin easy as pie
I killed only the two Derv camps in Oasis...on the fourth cycle he popped at the more northern camp. Took about half an hour.

Have been 12 hours (2 days) camping Sro and Oasis killing all the derv camps with my 40 monk. I tried S ro first but saw that i had a very low chance to see the Ronin, so i decided to alternate camp and what i do is to spend 30 mins or so in each zone. Nothing. Do i need a tracker? i thought i could do it alone : /

I was hunting him with my Monk as well... I had to break out the Druid for tracking purposes. I've been there for 2 days now and still waiting. I've seen him b4 in my early days when I was leveling there in Oasis and SRo. I'll be patient and repost when I get him.

Been through 5 cycles of spawns at SW dervs camps in Oasis and still hasn't popped. I am getting very agrivated with this quest... but i still have raster and targin to go for my epic... why must these quests take forever to do?

As far as i know this guy is on the AC spawn cycle, basically by agroing any of the various PHs you trigger the next spawn - this guy and the AC are amoung them - i have seen this guy a few times while trying to get the AC.

I need to get here from Kunark..is there an easy way, or do I have to do a heck of a lot of porting? I hope no porting, because I wouldnt want to spen my life savings and then possibly die when I DO get ported back to the dreadlands...anyhoo, any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

The way I got to Antonica from Kunark was kinda tricky. Since most Iksar are hated by both the Firiona Vie and the occupants of the Outpost, there's no easy way to go beside 'porting.
But the way I did it is I went to Overthere and instead of going into the Outpost through the front door, I swam around the wall. There was one creature on the north dock (the one to Timorous) that conned red to my 23rd circle monk. Luckily, he was on the very edge of one side of the dock. I was able to run on the other edge and get by. Nothing wanders to the very end of the dock, so you should be safe there.
Once the barge comes through, hop on it and zone into Timorous. Do not get off the boat until the first stop, Ogre Island. Carefully avoid the ogres and head to the north-west corner of the island. There should be a small lagoon where the barge to the Oasis of Marr comes in. Hop on that when it arrive and take it to the Oasis.
When you arrive in the Oasis, run to the south wall and the zone to South Ro.

Heh it's easy to get here from Kunark. Just get ported into Nro and you can bind at FP, away from the guards. No prob.

Killed him at fifteen ..He was standing in front of the docks in the Hut...Everyone was shouting he was there but no one was touching him...So I took him out..He had the sash ,Water and a ring I left the sash and was a little disappointed...He hits hard and frequently..

I ran back and forth between the two Dervish Camps in SW corner of Ro. After about an hour, the "a Young Ronin" spawned.
While waiting for pops, I killed a few dozen orcs, some dune spiders, and other miscellaneous creatures. By the time I was done, I had looted 9 Cutthroat Insignia Rings - good for hadning out to newbies anyway...

I was in a group when I saw this guy standing outwards from the hut from the docks. I hit the macro for the incoming target, and immediately 2 warriors in my group said they weren't going to touch it, because it hurt their faction with the Freeport Militia. I knew better than this, because I killed the guy a lot of times. As I was fighting it (with my monk), I took it down by myself while telling them it only had faction with the Dervs, but they still told me different. After I killed it, I told them again. They said I was stupid, so I left the group. Just a little funny story ;)
This guy conned white to me when I was level 12 though. He hits for about 5 - 10 dmg more than a regular mob that level (in Oasis), but it's really nothing to be scared about. He drops the torn sash as you see above, plus the regular Dervish Cutthroat rings, and some water.

My nec which was lvl 30somthing fought him no pet i cast shock of posion which dose 160 for those the dont know. I tock out some hp and he... umm i think he was trying to hit me i casted it again and he walk off like all huamans do anyway after the third cast he was gone i loot the sash and i destroyed cant use it so destroy it so i am trying to say her has about 400hp give or take

After soloing A orc warrior, i was on my way to the docks when i met one of these guys. I conned it and it cons blue to my 21 paladin. Killed it with ease. He took approx 1 bubble of life off me. My guess is that its max lvl could be 17 or 18.

I killed all spawn in the 2 Derv Camps on Oasis. After clearing the Derv Camp next to the water twice and the other on wall twice, Young Ronin popped in the camp next to the water on the third spawn and dropped sash. He is definately on the Derv spawn cycle.

I got mine by going back and forth between the camp at neg 1400 pos 1400 and the at about neg 850 pos 1100. The YR spawned at the neg 850 pos 1100 camp after about three spawn cycles.
Exact same results. Same spot, same number of spawn cycles.
This is in Oasis of Marr. Took me a short time to find the right camps.

anybody know what lvl is young ronin is ...
for me it's about 13-15 beacuse i ever fight him
and it's con is blue dangerous ... for in lvl 16

He spawned at the derv camp in south ro. It took a half hour of bard kiting, but I managed to kill him at level 11. He was red of course. Dropped torn sash, human blood, and cutthroat insignia ring. Lost faction iwth the dervish cuttthroats
I have also seen this MOB spawn in South Ro. I was standing just to the east of the Evil Merchants and he wandered up from the SW. He then proceeded to move in a NE direction to the edge of the zone.

A level 14 isnt going to do anything to this fellow. He is gonna kick the crap outta you. If you do try though. Dont let him hit you! He is a monk and once he starts hitting you you cant cast and are dead very quickly unless pet can get it off. I wasted this guy easy at level 17 by fear kiting

I soloed this guy with a level 16 cleric. Not twinked. Was in a group fighting orcs in orc alley. This guy aggros me while everyone else is busy with the two orcs and Mummy (crypt I think) that trained in on our puller. Anyway, this guy starts hitting me, for about 10-20 pts damage, when he hit. I was full mana, all buffs, and he seemed to miss a lot. I hit autoattack, then started alternating smite, furor, smite, furor. I had no problem at all getting my spells off. Of course my channelling is pretty high, so some went off even when I was hit (though only when low hp hits). I lost maybe 1-2 bubbles of life, and had enough mana left to heal (myself). Luckily we had 3 clerics in the group, so I wasn't missed too much in the main fight. I assume from this that a well equipped level fourteen probably would have a chance, especially if they got some high level buffs on the way.
He dropprd the sash and some other useless junk. I shouted for anyone interested in the sash, but no takers. rotted on the ground.

I watched two of these talk to each other, then they went their seperate ways. I followed one and watched him tear apart a mummy (avg 30 pts per hit) and a desert madman. But when I jumped one, he folded rather quickly. I'm a 16th lvl warrior.

A iskar was asking for one of these and then a saw a young ronin. I killed it and it had the lore item, but just before I told him he said he would by one for 30pp!! So i told him, he came and looted the corpse, and i got 30pp, i was very happy.

I had never seen these before the repop of Oasis two (three?) days ago, at which point my group and I spotted several. They do hit hard, as we discovered when we helped out an enchanter with killing one when it overwhelmed the pet. These guys better fit the image of Dervish Cutthroats, for me- wandering bandits who prey on those traveling through the wastelands- just my two bits...

Some people do not consider turning in your newbie scroll to your guild master as a quest, so this is considered to be used for the 3rd shackle 'quest'...which IS the 4th physical shackle that you receive.
