i just spent all night camping her.. killed anything that spawned at ruins and anything that walked by... i am a 26 bard... Varsoon walked up... he was blue so i jumped him.. he killed me in about 45 sec.... if that.. ran back.. looted corpse... sat there... killed all the stuff over and over.. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?? do i need to leave the dread corpses?

Tovax has never dropped the GBS, unless it was given to him by a player. Verant has said over and over that a mob spawns with whatever loot it has, again, unless it's given to it by a player. It's set at time of spawn

Ok after 9hours of straight camping, no Pyz, but killed Varsoon 2 times.

I camped her 25 game nights. In those 25 game nights; pyzjn spawned 11 times, varsoon spawned 6 times and I have not got a GBS yet. I have seen Tovax and Varsoon alive at the same time. I have not seen Pyzjn and tovax alive at same time YET!!.
I know Tovax is scruffy's nighttime equivalent. Where scruffy spawns and first stops if you kill him at say 6pm, tovax will appear there 2 hrs later. Depending when he spawns, ie 8,9, 10,11 that will vary his route. Where he drops a letter in any of the places nr ruins is a place where pyzjn or varsoon, the ph's spawn. Also I am wondering why rats wander to the ruins stop and disappear?, the places they disappear is where decaying skels spawn later. And, by killing the mangy rats does that cause more dreads to spawn?

I hunted her for weeks...close to a month...i killed her seven times and finally i said ***** it and would go kill mammoths or something...well low and behold i heard of 3 stones in 4 days...i though wow either she was bugged for me or something happened on a new patch....anyhow i was still in EF and was lost from kiting mammoths...i decided to gate (which i had set on the ruines)...gated and it was night time 1pm and i thought why not hit tracking and there she was walking and yes my friend she dropped it....so from everything i read about people just popping in and getting it is kewl...dont waste a week and numerous hours trying to get her to spawn...also close to a 75% chance kill the ph at 5pm and not 4pm and then hunt tovax down to where he stops..kill him there and ure chances will greaten..i have heard of 4 spawn points....if ure a dru i suggest u hang out on the hill cause more than likely she'll be walking...i'll probably go back for another one, this one is for keep and if i get another ill sell or trade for better items....later all and good luck

Spawn time - probably around 2 - 5 am.
PH = random "center" place holder, AND, Dreadcorpses (ever notice how they don't drop any loot?)
Kill all placeholders during that timeframe (and during the day so they don't run away) and hope for the P spawn. I'm testing that theory now. Please post if it works for anyone else.

It was between 7 - 7:30 am. real life... weee morning hours EQ time. (She spawned twice in a row) No GBS....poot.

I just killed her 1 min ago. Then did a sense summoned, Tovax and Pet WERE up. Apparently not a placeholder.

On Drinal the GBS barly sells for around 7k, when Kunark/Velious came out its price went way down. I've had 3 GBS's and yes I know their lore, as I got them I sold them =/ No big secret just sat at millers PL one of my alts then checked track once in awhile and she was on it. I did notice that 2 of them I got early in the morning IRL est time at around 7 30 or so but dont think that matters. PS her name is Pyzjn you newbies SPELL IT RIGHT. Duird Animalfriend 44 druid

She is quite easy..she just chain casts...her pet misses a bunch too...i was able to take her down with five ignites (lvl 11 druid) no GBS though =(

ONe rule to pooping pyzjn is that Tovax, Scruffy and Varsoon cant be up. These guys are PHs and wont let her spawn when up, so if anyone says that Varsoon and Pyzjn meet, they are wrong.
This may help some people in hunting them. Also I have found Tovax to drop a letter and have no idea what its for, some rumor its for Pyzjn to pop, but I boubt it since my friend usually kills him as soon as he spawns and we still got her to pop.

Your all wrong, none of you know how to do it, ill tell u.
First, u gotta kill Guard Regis, get his whatchamahoozit and give it to Tovax Vmar at EXACTLY 3pm game time. He will give u his thingamabobber which u then go and drop on the ground outside of Blackburrow. Then u must dance around it while screaming "I like to eat pumpernickel" 5 times. After your done that, drown yourself in the lake but just before u die shout "I LIKE TO TOUCH MEN" and then Pyzin will run to u.

well, ive tried it a hole bunch of times in the past couple days and i have not seen her yet, but i will keep trying until i get it!

no, all you do is repeatedly kill the place holder, there is no secret to getting her to spawn earlier, i camped her 30 hours in a row and got her to spawn 15 times, all when I thought she would.... if you kill all the Place Holders she will spawn around 3-5AM, if she doesn't spawn in between those times, she won't, you don't really need to kill anything else, but i did cuz i was bored. she has a chance of spawning then, if she doesn't you have to kill all the PH's and wait until the next 3-5AM

what placeholders do you mean ? im camped her 40 hours now and only got her to spawn 6 times.....i killed the animal at 5 PM and then killed all the undeads in zone ...what do i wrong ?

I currently only have a lv 8 dwarfie warrior with 7pp in his ittie bittie bank account, a lv 4 eru chanter with about 10pp in his accout (a gift from another char by the way, and a lv 6 human palad with I forget how much money (not much).
The idea of TWELVE THOUSAND PLATINUM from such a low level character seems almost ridiculous to me. Yeah... it's cool that it's so rare, but I don't even know what I'd do if I got something worth so much money. I kinda like getting each piece of new armor or spell one piece at a time and really cherishing each. Not that I wouldn't like having TWELVE THOUSAND PLATINUM (hehehe) to utterly spoil my characters. It would just be very different and it seems a little hard to imagine.
Oh my oh my.
The thought of looting a GBS is both pleasant and scary at the same time. I don't even know what I'd buy. I think I'd pay a consultant character just to tell me what's good and what's not.

Ok look your all wrong dreads are crap they must die. i was On Ayonae Ro one night (lvl 30 ranger) camping Pzjin for a GBS, just for the heck of it. along comes a lvl 50 or something and tells me howits done so i try his way and bam i get her to pop 2 times in one night and on the first one i got me my GBS (lucky huh), and so fat it works every dang time, so heres how it works;
1. during the day and during the night there are a total of 5 place holders, 5 at day 5 at night (the 5 at night have the posiblity of pzjin or varsoon spawing). druing the day the PH will be some sort of animal, until 2pm they dont matter a thing. around 2 or 3 pm a ph will spawn and eventually makes its way and sit inside the ruins and stay there, once the EQ time is 5PM kill the sucker and record the real world time. this is very important because the next spawn time will happen exactly 11 min adn 43 sec realworld time after the ph has been killed. (this is a continuous cycle that happens during the day as well)
2. after the ph is dead you have 11min and 43 sec (real world time) to kill every undead that you see on track, or basicly everything from the ruins to rephas all the way to the BB mouth (one giant square) the more undead you clear the easier it is to find the next PH which at night will be either a Dread Putrid Decaying or PZjin or varsoon themselfs.(chances are that if you kill the ph that is and undead Pzjin or Varsoon still might pop, once again after you kill the ph or Pzjin or varsoon watch the Real world time and add the 11 min and 43 sec for the next pop and repeat the clearing of the undead, the night cycle will end at about 7am and the day PH cycle starts again, so all told you have about 4 or 5 chances of getting Pzjin or varsoon to spawn,
3. on a side note pzjin will not spawn everytime doing this just ensures a 20% chance of her or varsoon spaing but with 5 chances you can get her at least once a night. also note that if the ph dosent come before 5pm eq time that means you killed the one before it to early so the 11 43 cycle hasnt finished or so du,b newbie has killed it on its way, even without the ph i have still managed to get pzjin to spawn but on that time she didnt even drop her rusty dagger so the ph at 5 is essental, i have also heard rumors that if you can get pzjin and varsoon to spawn she will talk to him at the ruins and he will hand her a gbs that ensures a drop every time you kill her but i have never seen thta so i just dissmiss it as rumors.

I dunno about that last part. i heard that also and i'm on a different server. prob some truth to it but yeah i never seen that either.

I am a level 8 shammy. I happened across this beast while running to the entrance to Surefall. I thought that when I reached the guards I would be okay... they did not even try to protect me. The pyzjin killed me in about 30 seconds.

i camped her fer several hours.... the usualy killin all but the dreds and killin the mangies and regular rats(not sure if this does anything)
and i left their corpses strewn about... soo im camping pyzjin and then im pked(on Tallon Zek) and i was bound in halas and when i come back i hear "Pyzjin is up!!!!" so i run jumping as i went and looted my BP sword and shield and quickly killed her.... --You looted a rusty dagger-- so i waited some more.... and she showed again and another dagger....i logged for the night and in the morning i logged in and waited 10 mins and she showed again! I killed her, but just got ANOTHER dagger! /cry shes rather easy to kill though(i am a 20 pally twink)
i resited all her spells and she has very few hps... you have to watch out for Ksing wizards who can kill her in one shot... basically this spawn is very unpredictable...
stuff to have before you camp the GBS:
a caffinated drink(coke is fine)
a magazine to read/a game boy or something to entertain you
something to eat and some water(you get thirsty late at night :P)

oh ya... summer is a good time to camp her cause theres nothing much else to do... I know if i get dat GBS im getting either 1 or a combination of the following:
FBSS(prolly not cause it would take up most of the money)
sporiali gloves(would go nice with my ghoulbane)
some other low lvl haste item
hero bracer(need the str)
mithril legs!(oh ya)
mithril vambrace(")
wyrmslayer(GB is fine for now tho)
and if im really lucky i can find someone with the shield of the stalwart seas!
these are the thoughts that i think of as i camp pyzjin and they help you to keep your sanity...

I camped Pyzjn for a couple of hours once....1st night...nothing, second night.....nothing, by this time I was pretty bored I was conversing with Guildies and a lvl 21 Wizard Guildie (Our guild is all Wizards) decided to help me....I told him of the nice 9k item on it and he promptly came to QH from NK..he said we would try to get two of them....we were sitting around killing Skellies when I see ...Pyzjn begins to cast a spell.. I say Pyzjn is up!!! My partner says..get these stupid skellies off me I can't get a cast off.....I run over there a couple of force Shocks and both go down..now I start to turn around only to see the message "You resist the fear spell" So we both turn around and waste her and her pet....he goes to loot and picks up..NOTHING..Dang it..maybe next time..we decide What the heck we stay there a couple more EQ hours..she spawned at midnight by the way..it was around 4 am EQ time and all of the sudden I resist the Fear spell again and My blood simmers....SHE POPPED AGAIN....we quickly dispatch her and her pet..I go to loot this time..and he asks..Did She have it?!?! I say ...... and get up from looting her...her body disappears and all I looted was a rusty Dagger...he says NO!!!! so we give up and decide to meet up again later to camp her again...Oh well maybe next time
