Well due to contrary belief of whatever yall think of Pyzjns spawn habits... YOUR WRONG. See i camped her for 3 hours and got her to spawn to times a night... lucky you say? perhaps purly coincidental? NO... its not as hard and tricky as everyone thinks. Its fairly simple i figured it out by watching people sit their for hours watching common occurences daily, i really feel bad for those who have sat there for 77 hours and what not to camp her but man, try and figger out a pattern not just sit there and rape everything,, one thing is it helps to have a pet or a friend or the trigger wont work right unless ya get lucky.. later all and have fun!

during the eq day, the out of place mobs are: a giant rat and a grizzly bear. if you seen one in the northern portion of qeynos hills or around the ruins, it is going to that spot in the ruins. other mobs go there, but they are also in the northen hills region. at night, the only out of place mob is a putrid skeleton. the UNIQUE mobs are: a (P)utrid skeleton, a griz(Z)l(Y) bear, and a (G)ia(N)t rat. a longgggg time ago, Pyzjn was actually SPELLED "Pyzgn", Verant changed it in a long ago patch. if you kill a giant rat, grizzly bear during the day and a putrid at night, she WILL spawn with the gbs. the gbs IS part of a quest that originates in Qeynos, check in the sewers!!!!

I have gotten several of these, I gave one to my real life mom, kept one for myself, sold one to a vendor and misplaced the other one.

I killed her during the day, and on the last time I killed her she had 2 pets! That's the first time I have seen that (she has the GBS that time).

I will get more and post how she spawns (I know), and I am quilified because I was the first person to ever kill her and get a GBS on any server.

I simply killed everything around the ruins and in the ruins. This was all the way down to the bottom of the hill on both sides of the ruins and in the ruins between the hours of 6pm and 6am. The first night nothing loaded, but the second night at 8pm she loaded and I got the stone. On alot of the web sites they post do's and don'ts. I know that standing in the radius of light has NOTHING to do with her spawning since I was running around in it when she loaded. I never killed any named mobs or bears of any sort. She did NOT load in the ruins, she came walking over the hill coming from what would be in the direction of Hadden from the ruins. I am not claiming to know how to get her to spawn for certain, just making sure people know that it doesn't seem to make a difference what you do as long as you do it around the ruins and within the ruins.

hi , a high lvl necro killed pyzjin . He looted her and said , its your loot (I'm a lvl7 bard) .
I didnt understand so i took the black ball . the necro said me "try to sell that but it dosnt worth a lot" so i destroyed it .

WTF?! How can something that spawns at night have a place holder durring the day? If it is not possible for Pyzjn to spawn durring the day than how can you say that something is her placeholder durring the day time?
Sounds to me like 2 completely different spawn tables. One table for night time and one table for day time. Stop posting b.s. that has been posted a zillion times before you. Read the posts before you post.

There have been many rumors that people can somehow do a quest or kill a monster to get her to spawn. That's just not true. The ONLY way to get the GBS is to sit and wait. But here's a few things you should know. First, she only spawns at night, from 6 pm to 6 am game time. Has been comfirmed MANY MANY times. Second, she DOES have a PH. During the day, it's an animal, usually a brown bear, but could be a wolf, that stands in the middle of the ruins. During the night, it's a skeleton. Could be decaying, putrid, dread, or just a normal skeleton. It stands in the middle of the ruins, not sits. The third and finaly thing, Pyzjn does not spawn at the ruins. She has 3 spawns points that I know of (near blackburrow, near ent to surefall, and one inbetween those two) and she walks to the ruins. I have heard that there are wandering guards that will kill her if they see her. This is by far the most frustrating camp in all of Norrath. Don't even attempt to camp it unless you feel like killing 50 or so hours, and don't mind getting a few grey hairs.

I had a friend o' mine identify her GBS for me, cuz I wanted to see something. It's "lore" name is the black heart of Varsoon...I am wondering, is this a quest? From somewhere in Qeynos, i would guess...please, anybody that knows ANYTHING regarding this, please post it...I would really like to find out the reward for this quest...I mean, for something like the GBS as just an item needed for the quest, it must be a VERY nice reward

This post deals with various information I collected from numerous web sites and my own personal thoughts/experiences about this spawn. This will be my final post. Key point to remember is that all the named Necromancers in Qeynos Hills belong to the Bloodsaber and Opal Darkbriar factions. All interaction I did with named NPC’s were done with my Paladin and my level 1 Necromancer.

1) Continue on with the Niclaus Ressinn idea of getting that torn parchment deciphered. (This was suggested at an obscure web site)

2) Check out Chesgard Sydwen in the Temple of Thunder and ask him “who are Bloodsabers”, kind of frustrating that he refers to himself for more information. Most of the named NPC’s in the Temple refer you to Chesgard when you ask them who Bloodsabers are. Item of interest here, when the NPC’s talk to you, they tell you to speak more with “Chesgard Sydwend”, note the spelling of “Sydwend”. (I submitted this as a bug)

3) Try out the Wolten Grafe / Drosco quest (I tried and got tired of waiting for the zombie to spawn, 5 RL hours. I know... I know... not even a drop in the 250+ RL hours that I spent on Pyzjn herself)

4) Numerous guards throughout Qeynos refer you to the Temple of Life and the Temple of Thunder when you ask them about the Bloodsabers.

5) I did the Gharin’s note quest (evil) 4 times and Varsoon spawned twice. I gave the fake note to Te’Anara at 8pm game time using a mule half elf druid. The Gharin’s note (good) generated faction hits, but nothing else.

6) During the EQ night, at about 8pm, various undead walk towards ruins and collapse into piles which, if left undisturbed, form a circle surrounding the ruins. This is known as “The Circle of The Undead”. Leave them UNDISTURBED. Keep the homepoint clear, and try being SELECTIVE of what you kill at the 3 spawns within the ruins. This idea is next to impossible to try. First, one has to keep people away from the ruins so that the skeleton collapse points remain untouched, and two, I believe this idea is all about timing. I think all the collapse points must be occupied at exactly midnight. I tried this idea, but was pretty much unsuccessful at guaranteeing the safety of the Undead Circle from other players who were killing them for experience and collecting bone chips for various quests in the game. I was unsuccessful with this idea. I tried it several times, even paid people to leave the ruins. I think timing is extremely important for this plan to work. (This was suggested at an obscure web site)

7) The note dropped by Tovax, which you give to Roesager Thusten, did nothing to spawn Pyzjn. Also, I neglected to include Roesager Thusten in my list of people that I gave Ressinn’s torn parchment, he also did not decipher it.

8) Try asking NPC’s in Qeynos (all zones) this question: “who is Opal Darkbriar” and see what happens or where it might lead you. I recently discovered this idea and never personally tested it. (This was suggested at an obscure web site)

9) Try out the grizzly bear | giant rat | putrid skeleton idea that I posted in Part 1. This idea would make more sense if it dealt with a mangy rat, a rabid grizzly bear, and a putrid skeleton for the obvious reason that these creatures have the ability to DISEASE you. But alas, it does not.

10) Try killing all MoBs that are near Pyzjn’s level. When I say near, I mean +/- 3 levels. I tried this theory, but results were not consistent and requires further testing for determination. I’m pretty sure my inconsistencies were totally coincidence.

11) Continuously kill all MoBs in northern Qeynos Hills. Being a Heretic with a very strong pet this proved very easy to accomplish. I just loaded up my level 1 lifetap (low mana and fast casting) and casted on anything that moved. This would draw them to me for my pet to kill once they attacked me. The results of this idea were inconclusive.

12) I killed Pyzjn 17 times during my “camp” and was never rewarded with the GBS. During my time there, I never saw Pyzjn spawn earlier than 12am and never later than 6am. This does not mean that she doesn’t spawn at other times, these are times that I actually SAW her spawn. The latest I ever saw Pyzjn was 8am (didn’t see her spawn and she was at the ruins). The earliest was 12am EXACTLY. I believe her spawn time to be between 12am – 6am gametime.


I hope that at least some of my information has been helpful, I will visit this site every now and then to see if you guys have figured anything else out. To aid you in finding obscure web sights, I suggest visiting the various newsgroups that litter the internet (I use Forte Agent) and explore ftp sites (I use CuteFTP). Well, that’s that... good luck all, get the GBS, get great loot, and most importantly... level up!

I have concluded, that to spawn Pyzjn in 1 hour and a half is true. You will be VERY BUSY to do this. I have concluded this: Pyzjn is the rarest MoB in Queynos Hills. I have concluded about 2-5 PH, These are: Varsoon the Undying( which is spawns by scruffy, Tovax, and Varsoon) Grizzly Bear( Kill all A grizzly Bear and Rabid Grizzly's to get the very uncommon to spawn ) A GIANT rat, and a Putrid Skeleton. I have seen Niclaus Ressin spawn where she was supposed to when all acept Varsoon the Undying went, and Cros Treewind when all acept Grizzly, and A skeleton when all acept the Rat. I believe if you kill them all, you shall make her spawn.

Not interested in flaming, or whatnot. I'm from Test server, and we just don't go for item greed. Can't buy or sell anything good on Test (all trade only) so more people that get a GBS the better :)

* All npc have that are not present all the time have a place holder, or are unique with long spawn time in which case they usually do not move around. Pyzjn is no exception. In her case, however, she has MANY place holders, which can be any non-unique mob from the zone (ie Fire Beetle, Grizzly Bear, Brown Bear, Snake, Bat, Large Rat, etc).

*The mob you see standing in the ruins and looking somewhat out of place is the current placeholder. This mob will also wander along it's patching and possibly de-spawn (at least on Test, where in the course of a day there can easily be no players in zone all day).

*Pyzjn has a roll to decide if she spawns. The roll will always fail if it is daytime. She only will spawn at night. Daytime rolls spawn the random mob that will go and eventually park at the ruins; night time rolls that fail will spawn the random mob who will follow one of Pyzjn's pathings (ie always end up on approach to ruins eventually, unless killed).

*Pyzjn is completely unrelated to any unique named mob (ie Tovax, Scruffy, Varsoon, any guard, Millers, etc).

*Varsoon *could* appear as his placeholders are also in the area of the random mobs you have to kill to get Pyzjn to pop. This is what makes people think that Varsoon and Pyzjn are somehow related. Varsoon is even more rare than Pyzjn, and usually will only pop (supposedly) if someone does the forged note quest from the Bertoxxulous shrine in Qeynos to the head of Druid guild in Surefall Glade.

* Scruffy the Rat is the daytime placeholder for Tovax Vmarr.

*Killing Pyzjn before or after she summons a pet has no impact on her having a GBS. Loot is assigned by server to a mob based on loot table, and a roll. The roll is done at the time the mob is spawned, not after.

*Pyzjn often pops by the tree near Millers on the rocky flat ground, however as stated elsewhere she can appear between ruins and Blackburrow, or on the road between Surefall and the crossroads. That being said I have not ever *seen* her spawn anywhere but where I just mentioned. In all cases she will walk towards the ruins.

Summary: Pyzjn pops only at night. Killing the parked placeholder as soon as sun goes down begins the clock for the roll for next spawn. The required roll for Pyzjn to pop instead of a placeholder seems quite high, as *most* mobs have a spawn roll every 6 minutes or a multiple of 6 minutes(every 6 minutes to see if there will be a spawn at all, if successful a roll to see *what* will spawn from the spawn table. Once the mob spawn is rolled, a loot roll is done to see what from that mob's loot table will be present when it is killed)however the most I've popped her is twice in one game night and this was just the result of lucky timing.

So kill the parked place holder at dusk, and kill EVERY non-unique mob that is on approach to the ruins! You don't have to clear the ruins themselves, however even when green the Dread Corpses etc still aggro, so I clear them. There is no single mob that will 'trigger' Pyzjn that a player would be able to *know* is the right one. Last night I killed her 4-5 times in one session, and she did come by twice in one game night. Of course, no GBS yet heh.

Basically they have her set up so its rare loot on a rare/random mob. Sitting around all day for her to pop with a GBS is somewhat silly, as any time spent 'camping' her does not increase the chance to roll successfully the next time. Not that this stops people though hehe.

I hope this is helpful to some. Some of what I've read about Pyzjn is way off base, and as far as I know what I have included here is accurate.
