Just spent an hour or 2 last night in QH with my lvl 24 mage on the Rodcet Nife server. It was 5am ET - so I figured I'd give it a try and see if the spoiler post below would work. I log on - and the FIRST thing I do is a /time followed by a /who - just to see who is in the zome that might be capable of camping the spawn. There were 5 people in the zone, only one of them high level - a 35 warrior. But I head on over to the ruins to check them out anyways - and the warrior is nowhere in sight. It is 2PM EQ time... so I spy out the Giant Rat PH sitting in the middle of the ruins and wait until it turns 4PM EQ time - like the spoiler post said.

So 4pm rolls around - I wait and then blast the rat and set my timer for the 11 mins 43 secs. At 5pm all of a sudden I see somebody running through the ruins wiping out all the skellies. I check to see who it is - and all I can tell is that it's someone that cons red to me and chooses to go anonymous. I can't tell one class from another by looking at them, but they were a hybrid caster of some sort - he was blasting some skellies - and meleeing most with a HUGE sword and wearing armor. After killing a few skellies - he tears off towards Blackburrow and goes off in the distance. I keep doing a few /who commands to see who's still around and they are still around.

Finally - a couple of mins later - this person says ooc "GBS camped - I'm killing all PHs now"

So I continue to sit there and wait for the 11 mins to finish passing. At this point I'm figuring that if Pyzjn DOES show up - it's gonna be a quick draw. The time arrives for the spawn to come up, and it appears to be just a decaying skellie... which I dispatch of quickly and then proceed to whack out the rest of the skellies in camp as well.

About 30 secs later, this person shows back up, comes up to me and says "u r not here 4 gbs r u?" (I hate online shorthand!!!)

I say "I was kinda - yeah"

he says "I'm camping her - please do not ks"

I say "howdya figure"

he says "I was here first"

I say "uh - no you weren't. the first thing I did when I logged on and got here was do a /who... and you weren't on the list"

he says "yeah - I went LD"

he says "I am back from LD now"

he says "I am back for camp"


SO anyways - I of course am real skeptical of this - but I'm not really gonna argue with him at this time. So I just sit back and watch, mainly to satisfy my curiosity as to whether Pyzjn would actually spawn. But my alterior motive was to see if this person was gonna stick around when it became morning EQ time.

Figuring that he might stay online and in zone if I stayed on as my mage character, I camped and logged back in as my lvl 3 ranger that is in QH as well. I continued to track and /who a while until... surprise!! At about 8am EQ time - he disappeared from the zone. So I play the ranger a little while and once it becomes about 3pm EQ time... I camp and log back in as the mage again. Wait around and... SURPRISE!!! At 5pm EQ time, there he is again.

So at this point I simply said to him - "WOW!! Amazing how you went LD from 8am until 5pm EQ time again!! What are the odds??" and started to log off for the night. I never did get a reply...

So anyways - I guess the rant here is... This is the first spawn that will truly infuriate me. I had read about the long camp times and low drop rates and was somewhat prepared for it... but when you get these out-and-out lying cheaters "camping" the spawn and obviously doing it for profit (ie the high level hybrid caster camping the spawn - when the item is better suited for pure casters) - it can be very trying.

First - if you are going to camp the spawn, be prepared for the long spawn rate, low spawn probability and low drop rate. This items apparently takes a while to acquire - so be a man and take the time to acquire it. By this I mean - if you're gonna camp it, CAMP it!! Just because she doesn't spawn during the EQ daytime... doesn't mean you get to take that time off and work on your other character or something!! If I get to the camp and nobody's around... then it is NOT camped!! At the VERY least you had better be IN THE ZONE when I get there!

And this brings up another point... PLEASE do not sit there somewhere around the ruins with your invisibility on. I don't really see the point of this - since the skellies can see you anyways. This will only lead to more arguments.

This camp extremely tests the definition of "Camp". ALthough I don't condone it - I would think that the sheer desireability of the item would make it so harsh that the area is uncampable... by this I mean - it doesn't matter who got there first, people are just gonna start wailing away on Pyzjn when she pops in a race to see who can kill her fastest.

first I do not claim to know how to make her spawn, don't even know if you can..this is my story..
I was walking into Qhills and saw 4 ppl in zone all newbies..so I decided to check it out. I cam upon the ruins and bam! I get hit by the dreds, ya I know NOW what everyone says about the dreds, but listen. I was attacked by a full set of dreds, well at 38 they didn't hit me much so I continued to look around the ruins..she was up!
Now I'm saying this fer this reason..NO ONE had been campin her, so NO ONE "triggered" her to spawn. she dropped the GBS as well. come see it anytime you wish, Sepletura 39 necro on Fennin Ro, Lafamilia
now another point to make is this..I was checking it because of the "in game" day, it was correct info for me and it worked. now the day..hmm better find me in game and ask, this is not a full spoiler but it can help the tired farmers out

The single most important thing you can do if you really want the GBS is to start a druid NOW and get to level 20 as fast as you can.

Four reasons why druids are best here: TRACKING (duh), SoW (gotta get to her quick), NUKING (Dizzying Wind is fast casting and will do over 50% damage), and PORTING (gotta make xp during the EQ day and I didn’t want to kill the Millers or guards). Rangers are also excellent, but I didn’t want to spend the time leveling the ranger. Now a mage might also work out with their spell “sense summoned”, but you’ll NEVER have advantage over tracking.

The Everquest NIGHT starts at 8:00:00 PM and ends at 5:59:59 AM (these are EQ times, not RL). Pyzjn will only spawn between those times. Don’t believe me? Try casting the spell “Dance of the Fireflies” outside that time frame. Pyzjn will NOT spawn after the EQ clock hits 6AM. The only reason you’d see her up is because she had spawned before the clock hit 6AM.

WOW! I am suprised Here is my story. I was bored so i went to get faction with qeynos by killing gnolls and other baddies. I was level 29 at the time and hat ported someone to NK anyways. SO! anyways, I was runing along the path and I hit track, and upon hitting track I noticed pyzjn and pyzjn's pet, I automatically that encanter NPC, because there is another one, i tracked it down, saw it was a gnome with a skeleton pet and it conned green, so I figured with a name like pyzjn it is a messed up spawn or good qeynos faction, so I blasted her, she died in one shot as well as her pet, I went to loot the corpse and there was only a rusty dagger so I decided ***** it and left the corpse, I went on my way and then someone shout "who the **** killed pyzjn? I have been camping him for two ******* days!" I /who alled the person and they were 52, so I decided to gate away, I asked my guild and sent tells to my friends asking who pyzjn was and they alll flipped out when they heard my story, too bad I didn't get a GBS, I probably would have thought it was like a polished bone hoop, the stats are crappy, and would have sold it to a vendor, imagine seeing a GBS on a vendor, I did see a kunzar cloak and an FBSS on a vendor once

Ok, might as well throw my little theory in here too......Ive been camping Pyz off and on for the past week, and reading every post I can find....I have seen her 4 times, and looted the ever elusive but oh so desirable rusty dagger....my thought is this, from what I have seen and read...

She spawns in about 5 different places that i know of......so possibly 5 triggers?? maybe...something to think about..

One thing I do know for sure.....every time I saw her, I had killed everything that walked to the center point of the ruins and stopped....placeholders, I presume. Twice she spawned in the center of ruins, both of those times I had left one dreadbones in the ruins and killed all the presumed placeholders and everything else that caught my eye. Once she spawned over the hill toward BB.....that time I had killed all place holders, all skellies, excluding the three dreadbones in the ruins. Once she spawned between the ruins and surefall....that time again I had killed all placeholders, and everything else in sight including all dreadbones......so my theory, and its just a theory......is that since she has more than one spawn point, she has more than one trigger......but I do believe that what I call placeholders.....the creatures that walk to the center of the ruins and stop during the day....have something to do with it. Anytime I miss any of them, I get no Pyz spawn at nite, none at all.

AND LOOK, THERE'S EVEN A DREAD IN THE ABOVE PICTURE!!!!!!

if anybody really has a good theory that works or knows how to make Pyzjn spawn and has proven it will you please reply to my post i personally need the GBS for my wizzy who has bad int for his level i dont want to sell it please post

Yeah you all know who you are lol. Just Kill everything that moves like in the rest of Everquest and eventually Pyzjn or Varsoon will spawn. What a bunch of BS on this board not everyone but many. There may be a remote quest related trigger as well but leaving the corpses is totally stupid and is no doubt meant as disinformation. What a sham.

I had someone KOS Pyzjn from me on my server that the stone is worth 30kpp. And she had it.

How do you TRULY make her spawn? I will go mad if I do not found out how.

I got one in EC Tunnel tonight! I was walking around and saw this bag on the ground. I piced it up and it was a GBS! YaY!

I think this is the worst spawn in the world, between people KSing you and newbies crying cuz you dont want them to kill the dreads, people just get crazy here and you just wish it to be a PvP server so you can just slaughter em all!!!!! :O...somethings wrong with me?

has any one thought that pyzjn uses the stone to make her pet? i mean people say she dropps it if she didnt make her pet... so what if you kill the pet first? most people are thinking to themselves "omg pyzjn blast her before neone else sees her!" just gotta make sure someone else isnt there to ks you =)

I just bought Everquest yesterday and got my account set up. I am playing and running around and go to this big hill somewhere and there are skeletons there. Some guy shoots this midget with a big red ball of sparks and the midget dies. The skeletons start attacking him and then he makes some fire come up from the ground and most of them die too. I think one didnt and he hit it and it died. I was so amazed by this I was in awe. He told me to loot the midget and the skeletons. I think he got the money off the woman but she had the black orb. He said he already had one but was testing a theory.

Ok so now that I have it what do I do with it? All it does is make my fist have a light on it and it looks retarded. Will the vendors give me good money for it or should I keep it. I need money for my Level 1 and, eventually, my Level 4 spells. How much is it worth and does it even cast a spell or can you punch with it beter?
