I killed him about 10 min ago and all he dropped was a Rusty Axe

Hah,, Managed to take him down with my Lvl 10 Shaman... but no loot other than the boring bone chips...
Killed him twice and only loot I've gotten has been Warbone chips and regular bone chips.

Conned blue to my 23 beastlord so the levels are off. Dropped some coin. Easy kill with warder. Used cold spells.

I killed him with my 15 Warrior, and he dropped some WarBone Chips. I don't know what they're for but they sell for 4 more gold than regular bone chips.

Solo'd him with my 13 Wiz, He conned yellow. Rooted him, hit him 3 times with shock of lightning, and then shock of frost to finsh, he just stood there and took it.
i've killed this guy alot with various characters, and hes never dropped a crown or anything, he does cast wizard spells tho so beware.

I killed this guy with my level 14 mage and my pet. I hit him hard initially with my spells but he attacked my pet fiercely. Both myself and my pet survived because i cast renew elements on my pet and healed the sorry guy

I killed him 8 other tiems in my chess board career and he never had anything like that again except for once he dropped a wurmy (i know that was luck)

My lvl10(at the time) wiz and a lvl13 cleric took him out too quick. He lightning zapped my buddy for 100+damage and he took off 80 from me. We just used our most damaging spells.
While we were there (about 5 hrs) he spawned 1 time. He conned red to both of us. The skelly's don't drop any coins, just good exp and weapons!!!

No mob is useless unless it gives out no exp, no loot, no quests and doesn't sell stuff. In that case it is useless. But this mob isn't useless, as it grants a great chunk of exp.
Btw, the king is a 5 hour spawn, so in order for you to kill him 5 times a day we need an extra 45 minutes each day and you wouldn't get any sleep =P.

I just soloed him (with my hunting buddy of course) - he conned blue to me. The king hit my pet hard initially, but didn't get an outright kill, and I was able to pepper him from far away with shock of flame. He fell after three hits with this, and dropped bone chips and a Rune of Proximity

I just soloed this guy with my 20 warrior, this bastard kept on casting a spell on me for 81DD he kept on doing it like every 10 seconds so people fighting at chessboard, beware.

When I logged on last night, a 12 paladin of my guild asked me to take out the Undead King for her. I moseyed over there with my 25 ranger, and discovered (after I'd pulled), that the two spawns on the western center side of the chessboard (the two clumped together that always aggro together) were BOTH Undead Kings.
Took them out, with the convenient help of a LoH, and managed to rout both of them and put the newbies at the Chessboard back in business. Just found it odd that there were two Undead Kings.

i killed the king now 7 times first for my paly, then to help a friend of mine power lvl his cleric, he never ever droped anything except bonechips and rusty weapons, so my advise dont camp this guy for the crown.

my friend (human cleric) and i (half-elf ranger) got respectively from levels 9 and 10 to 11 and 12 in two days at the chessboard, and we killed the King twice during that time. Effective gameplay time is around 8-10 hours. he conned red for both us, but we figured we could take him on.
the first time we got killed. the second time we got another guy with us, a lvl 12 shaman, and got him. That time he dropped a Words of Tyranny.
To kill him, best way is to just run up to him with the hardest hitter and start slashing away at him while casters heal you until the king runs out of mana and goes into melee, then its just to hack away until he dies.
We were both twinked, and stats around that time for me were 310-380 hp with and without buffs, ac 320-340. My axe of iron back hits up to 29.

me and me friend with twinked lvl 10 (got to 11 and 12 at the chessboard) ranger and cleric 9 (10 and 11 at chessboard) took him out twice in two days, and we played for about 10hours all-in-all. He is easy to take out if youre careful and dont chicken out; he will hit you HARD with a bunch of offensive spells at first, which will take you down in health, but start hacking away at him and have your friend heal you until the king goes into melee, then hack away until he dies.

I had my lvl 25 bard in BB, back from the Lake and decided to checkout the Cheesboard for old times sake. I was surprised to see that the king cnned a light blue to me .. but was happy for the easy exp. He did not drop anything but some cash, though his body pulsed and glowed even after he was dead, a bug?

I've seen the king twice...first time a few days ago and he spawned in the middle of the board...he conned yellow to me at 14...I killed him last night...he spawned on the right side of the board (next to front pawn) and he conned blue to me at 14...WTF...I wonder if the yellow spawn was the one that drops the crown...

this bastard killed my group and he was red to me at 3 so he must be around 16 or 17
Saw this guy a lot when I was hunting at the chessboard level 8-11. Must've killed him 15 times and he never once dropped a flippin thing. Totally worthless.... unless somethin else happens.

Saw him twice yesterday on the Terris-Thule server within 3 hours. My lil group of a 9 lvl druid, 10 lvl ranger and 11 lvl warrior killed him with relatively no problem. Only thing he dropped either time though was bone chips.

Three of my guild - Kolani, my level 12 ranger; Ladyslipper, a level 12 cleric and Aleyla; a level 10 mage were bored today, so we decided to clean off the Chessboard. He popped up, and we took him out pretty fast. He dropped a gem that mages need for spell research, so I handed it right over to Aleyla. He conned yellow to me, but he was much less work than the rooks and the bishop.

My group tried to jump him today. Two level 10 rangers, a level nine ranger, two level eight mages, and a level 9 dwarf something or another. We got whipped twice because we couldn't seperate him from a pawn that was with him. We'd try to pull the pawn, and he'd go aggro on us. Last I knew, he was still there on the Firiona Vie server.

I'm a 13th level paladin. No twinking, no undead dd spells at my level, just some bronze and banded armor and a decent weapon and a shiny brass shield. At my level, he conned yellow most of the time, even rarely. I was soloing the chessboard and I took him alone with only courage and yaulp as buffs. By the time I killed him, I was down to one full bubble of life. Folks, this is not a hard mob. Right off the bat, he can hit you hard, for 100+ damage. At first he continues to cast a few other spells, but then he engages in melee. Once he does that, he's toast. I didn't even use lay on hands.

I was here camping buy my self when I was lvl 11 druid. hunting blue Pawns. then he poped and casted an attack that did 102 damage to me. Luckally I had a SoW from a higher lvl druid. I ran and got away. I've came back a couple of time now and then but every time he's never there. He takes like 3 or more hours to respond. And I heard that he had a Caster only crown but it was a rare an almost never drop like 1\1000. Also people think he's a lvl 16 wizard. but I don't beacuse he hase rusty slash wepons. Now I came back when i was a lvl 16 druid hoping to find him. Waited 2 hrs and didn't pop. So I just killed the Rooks and Bishops who poped that were light blue to me. So my advice is that don't try and camp the king. He hardly ever pops.

He does not drop the bloodforge hammer. Only loot I have gotten is bone chips and rusty weapon sometimes. I have however heard of a once a month drop... it's a purecaster only crown. Good luck on getting it though.

It isn't necessary to be a twink cleric at level 12 and take this guy clerics are meant to battle undead 40+ damage spell and 9 dmg summoned blunt plus root and stun can take the king. Think before you decide to go off on anybody who knows how to play their character better than you do yours.

He was given the Bloodforge hammer by a player, only way to get the hammer is to give Trumpy Irontoes head to the Bloodforge in the warriors guild, first name escapes me.
