I fought one of these at lvl 14 that was ligh-blue, took him easy. But then another spawned a few minutes later that was blue to me. I had about 50% health from killing a bishop. I walk up and attack, then: You writhe in the grip of agony. You have taken 111 points af damage. I only had 209 hp buffed so my life got sucky real quick.
I took him as an 8 mage the other day he was yellow from the harmotouch only level 9 or maybe red I can't remember I just flame bolted him twice before he harmtouched me then pet attacked him one more flame bolt and pet took him down. Harmtouch only did 91 damage to me still alot of my mages health but he went down fast. This board is great experience for a solo mage starting at 8 I just pulled pawns single even if they are red you can take them down...
I just found the chess board and think it is great. I was there with some Druids taking turns at the monsters when they decided to leave me alone all buffed up. Well even though they conned blue for a LVL 12 Ranger, they still kicked me all over the BB mountains.
Ok these guys spawn strange. You might get a easy one around leval 9 with 2 players but i had just zoned into BB and a leval 12 and 11 players trained 1 knight to zone as the undead knight ran by me he hit me a leval 9 wiz for half of my life almost killed me with the next hit before i could zone back to greater faydar.
I took one on with my level 14 pally the other day, it harm touched me for 161! Casted Disease Cloud and was hitting hard for 22 hit points a pop. Harder then I thought, it had conned blue. Hmmm... Too bad I attacked it at half health, took it down though once I used my LoH.

I camped Chessboard for a few hours today, got two full stacks of Bone Chips and did get 1 Warbone Chip. It was off a bishop. I saved it figuring it was a quest item...
Also, the Knights are just as hard as the pawns except they will HT the first person to damage them and sometimes (pretty rarely) cast Lifetap in battle.
A while ago I (lvl 9 wiz at the time) was camping Chessboard with 2 lvl 9 warriors. We were mainly feeding off pawns when the Knight appeared. We decided to try it, and it was overall pretty easy. He did hit me with Harm Touch for about 120 damage so it looks like his lvl is about right, but beyond that he wasn't any tougher than the pawns. Maybe we got lucky and got a low level one...
me (lvl 16 pali) and a small group of 3 lvl 8-9's were camping the Chessboard the other night, they pulled all the pawns, some which conned LOW blu to me, i pulled all the rest, we got one Bishop, i stomped him easy, while they took the pet (bishop's get pets) after that, we decided to pull the knight, and the other bishop right after they spawned (as to avoid any more pets) but they were all good exp for being blu, although i was there to seek revenge on the King for all his misbringing's against me at low lvl, we never saw him while camping...for about 1-1.5 hours...weird, i was set on killing him too.
Chris - these aren't normal skellingtons! They're about 14 feet tall and nasty with magic and melee. Undead Knight conned red to me (11 Pal) on all spawns. Don't even think about the king.
I've been camping the chessboard for some time now, and I've met a few of them knights. Well I must say that they're not so impressive... Beyond their beginning combat with a 100ish hp Harm Touch, they're not much harder than pawns in my experience, YMMV. I killed one yesterday so quickly that i was really surprised and nearly disapointed LOL !
Bishops and Kings are another matter with their Fear spell, DoTs and DD spells... :( Be sure to get rid of all pawns before getting one of them, I died once that way when a pawn that'd just popped joined a knight...
I''v fought a bunch of different kinds of skells, I know on some things magic items and spells work only, but anything can usually kill a skell. I can dish out 50 points of damage with my flame bolt, level 8 spell I'm level 12 and I used it at eight, it still did 40 or so damage I don't think a level 9 mag and level 9 druid plus a pet could loose that fight. A druid and I took on a red one the other night. I was a level 9 mage with a white pet and he was a level 9 druid. We started the battle off by snaring it. Knight hit my druid partner with some spell that knocked off a bubble of health. As soon as it was near, I sic'd pet on it. Then the nightmare began. It FULLY resisted every single DD I threw at it. The only thing that ever did damage to it was my pet, which bit the dust right as the knight fell under 50% health (not bad for a white pet!). We ran immediately after pet's death. Both of us had just over 2 bubs of health as we left the scene of the crime, and we were actually able to run all the way back to Gfay zone (gotta love snare), although after we had been running about 45 sec, i got smacked by a long range DD; I still made it though :) . Needless to say, I think these guys are aroun 12+.
