No Regrets... Maybe just a few.
Two spawn points were -3091.16,-1559.61 and another -4852.51,-3107.02. Have killed him about 10x-15x today and has dropped the robe about 1/2 the time. It's lore, kept having to put them on different chars.
Still used for Rogue 1.0 epic. Was one in AH (Mayong) for 300pp. Much less than the 8000pp avg Allah's shows.
Only seems to have one placeholder, "a Ishva Lteth gnoll". Each seems to be about 50/50 to spawn. Have had Ishva 3-4x in a row.

THIS MOB WAS EASY TO TRACK ONE OF ITS SPAWN POINTS IS DEFINATELY SOUTH SOUTH EAST OF SPLIT PAW LAIR CO: -4627.05 by -2526.47 I was able to pwn it with my well equipped 41 ranger (SOLO) with a couple of heal pots just incase, I was lucky and it dropped The summon Corpse spell which is now a level 35 SHD spell and 34 NEC spell, it also dropped the robe, which I think is standard.

Just took him down with my 33 Drakkin Necro. Took a while, and I had 14%hp after, but he did drop the spell. He was east of Paw, but I did not have to kill and PH for him to spawn... No one was in zone and he was up... so not sure about the whole PH thing.
He also dropped his brain, the lariat and the robe.

After revamp of paw, The Ishva Mal pop in South karana in random location.
From paw zone in, he can pop in the zone covered from east to south east.
His PH is an ishva Lteth there is 3 different location for repop.
PH or named repop fast 4 time in raw (less than 20 seconds), then you must wait 30 min probably for repop.
The Ishva Mal must have around 3K HP
I killed the PH then 3 named pop in raw (1 robe & 2 spell)

Update to last post. At first PH spawn was 30 min but then it was almost every min after with Ishval mal spawning 3 more time. 2 robes and 1 spell. All spawns were in various loc in SE end. Hope it helps.

Ok, i just killed PH and within 1 min the Ishva Mal popped. Took it down with my 54 bst NP. The loc was -5270, -1083. Gonna wait the 30 min respawn and try again. It dropped robe, spell, brain and trash loot. Lets see whats next.

He now spawns east/southeast of splitpaw, his placehoder is a isvha Lteth gnoll. you can find him south east of split paw half way between hermit and paw. Both the Ishva and the placeholder spawn in an area slightly larger then max bard track and they move around but they stay in that general area. Respawn after kill is about 30 seconds to 1 min.

was in south karanas and seen and killed him twice in about 10 minutes. dropped robe first time and summon corpse and vendor loot the next. found him running near paw both times.

Anyone know, after PAW being revamped to a 65+ zone, if this guy *and his epic needed robe* are still going to be there? if not, where will the robe come from? will it still be needed? etc.
I have my rogues epic, but when I saw the Paw revamp and the mobs inside *red to 66 druid*, made me seriously concerned about if sony forgot about the rogue epic drop here.

Ive been here for almost 4hours 30 minutes and only killed 2 PH:s so far. Have they changed spawntime or is it bugged??
Ok, 1 minute after posting this another PH spawns,
so either its on a 90 min timer or still bugged :)

Now when i loged on after a good nights sleep ive killed the REAL ishva PH twice in one hour, so it seems like everything is back to normal.

The repop for The Ishva Mal or Place Holder is 30 minutes. I had Ishva Mal appear twice in a row, so definitely not 36 hours in between. First pop I got the Summon Corpse spell; second pop no robe or spell, just brain and junk items. (Brain and junk dropped both times.)
The guards outside however did not repop every 30 minutes. Seemed more like 90 mins to 2 hr.

I, Sanctimonius Pontificus, Holiest of Paladins, have this day soloed this vile cur with Marr's favor upon me, and a mere 49 levels of experience.
Marr saw fit to bestow KEI and HoV unto me in preparation for battle, and after methodically soothing and single pulling his (her?) guards and any other nearby healers, I charged the Ishva.
I expected a difficult fight, and had all 4 stun spells ready, as well as my Lodizal sheild equipped for bashing, but was surprised at how often the dog managed to resist my stun spells. Fortunately I resisted his spells quite often as well, and had the foresight to cast resist magic, disease, and resist poison before engaging.
I alternated casting stun, yaulp 2, flash of light, and bashing throughout the fight. I don't care what non-believers say about flash of light, but I swear to Marr the mobs drop faster when I use it; it lowers the mob's attack and AC, and sticks on every single mob I have ever cast it on, including Lodizal and Vox, plus it's great to draw aggro.
Nevertheless, the flea-infested abomination got me to 20% health (which was originally at 3400 or so with HoV) at which point I downed a Potion of Stinging Wort.
Ishava gave up the struggle shortly thereafter and tried to run, so I stunned him and buried my Wumslayer in his skull for the kill.
He dropped the Robe, the brain, and a splitpaw eye.
I pray to Marr that his spawn cycle is 36 hours, to confound any cursed Shadow Knights who might come to seek him.
Praise Marr!

Killed this guy today, and got my fabled robe! We camped him for 4 hours with no spawn, then got 3 in a row, seems very random, but robe dropped all 3 times, Good luck to anyone goin out for this guy

Not sure if they upgraded this guy but I have been farming him for awhile--After the patch The Fabled Ishva Mal was spawned in the ishva mal spot--fabled is immune to root/snare and seems to be more magic resistant where the ishva was not immune and spells took almost all the time--Fabled hit me for 1500 hps with a spell so i evac'd.
Hits for 1333 max - double - Summons - Not rootable nor snarable
Quite a lot of hps (10-20k i guess)

loc is good off of prev post 715, -450 but he is not a 36 hour spawn--wiped him with my 58 druid very easily before i crashed for the nite and when i got up 6 hours later he was back up. I spent 3 hours there without him spawning-killed place holders so I assume spawn is random. Dropped spell and robe both times. Those looking for the spell drop can also kill snakes found in the water--didn't confirm drop myself but a guildy did get it off snakes previously.

If this helps any The Ishva Mal is a 36 hour spawn....loc 715, -450: spell also known to drop off of Nisch Val Guard no idea on their spawn time!!

Perhaps it's been changed in the past year, but the Ishava Mal is not currently a 36 hours spawn. In fact, the Ishva and his placeholders spawn at the same rate as the other mobs in the area -- I got him twice in a row just now, after about 3.5 hours of killing placeholders.
However, note that when I arrived, there were 3 of the Nisch Val Guards spawned, all of which I killed before killing Ishva's placeholder for the fisrt time. However, at the end of about 3.5 hours, only 2 of them respawned. If I had to guess, I'd also say this time varies -- since the one I killed last spawned a git 5 min. before the one I killed first.

He spawns around 715, - 450. It's the furthest left room when you go through the 'secret' underwater passage (no 5 on eqatlas' map).

Went in solo with my 52 shammy and pet, both fully buffed. Went through, killing all the greenies along the way, killed the DB guard outside the room with the fire in it, and the guard inside the spawn room, settled down for a nice long camp... and the bastich poped right on top of me. Easy kill, hard DoT, but nothing you can't handle. No HT, no healing, and I couldn't find the blasted snakes either...

Hadn't been in PAW for a long time, but a friend made a Nec alt, so I told him I would help him get it...we go to paw, get to the room, finally, couldn't remember hehe...all morning and afternoon, NO Ishva Mal...some Ishva Lteth kept popping in his place! I was stunned, coz never saw this before, but apparently he has a PH now, and is not a common spawn. We left the druid I brought along in the room to watch fer spawns, and went and killed snakes, and yes, we got the spell off of a snake, waste of time camping the Ishva, imho, just kill snakes. 
Guessin this is one of the zones they redid in the recent patches. (?)

I killed Ishva Mal last night. My friend needed the summon corpse spell so I took my 48 warrior and 51 druid to try to get it for him.
Most of the greenies along the way did not aggro. I just ran straight to the water and jumped in at the spot marked underwater tunnel on the eqatlas map.
From that point on I killed all the mobs on the way Ishva Mal. A few of the rooms had multiple mobs including healers. I didnt single pull any of the rooms so a few of the fights were pretty close.
The guards just outside his room were pretty tough. I parsed the fight afterward and found a ninsch val guard had 2453hp and did 8dps, and a tesch val guard had 3029hp and did 13dps . I took 3311 dmg fighting both at the same time and had a dps of 25. After the guards were dead I needed to med a while, the druid was at 10% mana and the warrior was nearly dead.
The ishva mal had 3131hp and did 8dps and the tesch val guard with him had 1888hp and did 16dps. I took 2828dmg fight both of them together and did 23dps. The druid took 573 dmg. Ishva Mal dropped summon corpse, the robe of ishva, and the brain.

Sorry if this post is a bit lengthy but I thought the only way to prove what happened to me was to post a log. What you are seeing above is me being harm touched by the ishva mal twice in a row for 401 points of damage just before he died. Anyone else ever catch a harm touch or two from this guy? I reported it as a bug since I thought he was a necro and only sks can harm touch...
Yeah, I"ve been HT'd twice in a row by necros. When I was way younger (when I actualy played Harnak) I was in Nejena and was HT'd twice in a row by the necro chick who lives behind the locked door. Didn't think much of it, but now that you mention it. . .
Killed him last night while farming for gnoll whips, I don't recall him HTing me once, much less twice.

There are no place holders you can kill your way into the room and then kill Ishva and not kill nothing for 30 min and she will still spawn notice when you walk into the zone with a tracker and jump from bridge it will be on track almost everytime even if no one has been in ther for days )

Just camped this guy 2 nites in a row, due to taking your advice the first nite.
Firts of all, if you are going to camp this guy read ALL the threads before you try, too much Bad advice.
Second, get to Area #5 on the EQ Atlas map and jump into the water around this penninsula and swim around til you see a hidden underwater tunnel and take it, note you must swim up higher than the area you entered the water from.
The area you are now in is not on the map. There are alot of knolls in the area, but pretty easy to single pull most of them, bring a healer type as they will heal themselves or eachother as you fight em, so a greenie may end your life if you get too cocky.

Firts of all, if you are going to camp this guy read ALL the threads before you try, too much Bad advice.
Second, get to Area #5 on the EQ Atlas map and jump into the water around this penninsula and swim around til you see a hidden underwater tunnel and take it, note you must swim up higher than the area you entered the water from.
The area you are now in is not on the map. There are alot of knolls in the area, but pretty easy to single pull most of them, bring a healer type as they will heal themselves or eachother as you fight em, so a greenie may end your life if you get too cocky.

After been waiting for 3 respawns of ishva mal we were so bored that our druid charmed a gaduladian widemouth, one of those snakes in the water, our chanter dispell the charm of the druid and we kill the snake. and imagine our surprise when we loot the snake and get the summon corpse spell. WE get a lot of laughts hehe, thx to our druid for charming the right snake LOL.
i killed all the snakes on the way out, after getting the spell from the ishva, and the first snake i killed dropped summon corpse as well. none of the others dropped anything of interest

i did this yesterday i made pet right before door u open to go back to him slowly cleared my way back sent pet in on him and mezzed other with st he went down easy he dropped spell robe and brains i looted all dont know what quest the brains are for

I soloed the whole room today. Pulled with splurt, sent pet, Envenomed bolt, and Ignite bones when it was low on health so he couldnt heal himself. If I got 2 I mezzed the other because they will heal eachother and it was difficult with others healing them.
Im pretty sure you have to kill the guards at the door to get him to spawn (after you clear the room he spawns in).
The ishva mal seemed easier than the the guards. He didnt heal himself. He spent his time casting fear2 on me which I resisted all.
He dropped the spell, brains and a robe of the ishva.

I'm a 44 Necro and i went here with 5 other 51+ guild members to get summon corpse for me and another Necro. Ishva conned Dark blue to me, so he's definately not lvl 45. He is on like a 30 minute spawn like others have said, and we killed him 3 times and the other guards still hadn't respawned. First time he dropped Summon corpse, second time nothing good, third time dropped summon corpse and robe of the ishva. He drops other minor things too like his brains and some herb thing and FS sometimes.

I have 2 puters on one i had a lvl 34 cleric. thge other 48 rogue. killed stuff on way down to ishva..not only thing i had to. Had to wait at the one gate for the leth gnoll to go thru so it would go up..when i get ti ishva the 2 guards out front were Dark Blue to 48 rogue. There is another room nearby..i would recommend killing the ninsch in it. The ninsch mal guard on the left i pulled from the side and killed him barely :D let my cleric med up, and then killed the one on the right. (note)..take your time medding up after you kill these guards becuase they have a really LONG respawn time.. they still didnt pop after i killed ishva twice) after both guard were killed ishva and tesch am guard were in room, both DB to me, i got lucky i guess and pulled ishva by him self out.. got him to corner out of room and sliced away... he dishes out good dmg, and casts spells for 401 dmg on you easy.. he starts to run when low..thats why i said kill the ninsch nearby cuz he healed him, but my back stab of 298 took that away.. regardleess he jumped in tha water and i was back stabbing him all thru the swim and finnaly killed him before he came up on the other side. dropped the robe, brain, and a spell.. summon corpse. I went back killed other gnolls that were LB to me or green, while cleric medded up. then killed the tesch mal guard inside room.. I waited for a bit thinking them ninch guards would pop.. they never did.. about 15 minutes maybe 20 ishva popped again by himself.. coated my weapon, hide sneak back stabb, dd from poison, and it was on with me and the big guy.. he died again :D got another robe, brain, and other spell.. i forget its name, my cleric looted it.. i hope this helps.. just remember to take it slow and easy.. them ninsch guard are a pain. and keep that ninsch gnoll nearby killed atall times.. that can mean the leife or death of you.. unless you have a full party.. which i did not..

I just soloed the room with my 49 MAGE. All I had was my focused Water pet and my 600dd spell. It was soo easy. The Ishva aggroed as I was trying to take the guard by his room out, I killed the right one with no problem. When the guard came to me, my pet started to wack him, then The Ishva aggroed and I just kept hitting him with my DD's. My pet chopped through the guard so fast and started to take the Ishva. The pet had about 1/2 health and I had 80% of my health left.
Dropped the scroll, I went into the room and The Ishva popped about half an hour later alone. Killed him and he dropped the robe, and scroll.

all you have to do is wait by that gate until a leth gnoll will come wandering by and he opens it himself to walk thru.. im a rogue and could not open this gate. i just stayed against wall so he would not agro. i did this to see if other ppl who didnt have sneak or hide could do it too. WHen it opens it stays up for a bit after he goes thru.. so dont rush it,. there is a tesch gnoll on other side after him your ok for a bit.but not far :D

I'll assume you were usin' an EQAtlas map. (If not, go get one, 'cos otherwise this'll make no sense! *Grin*)
It's not immediately obvious from the map, but you don't have to follow the path around to point '5'. Indeed, as you discovered, there is a locked door on the way that makes life difficult. However, you will notice that there is a platform that runs over a lake at +800, 0. If you jump off and head East, you come to the area behind the locked door. (You'll be jumping right into the water fall. But you should be able to see the platform you're heading for, before you jump.)
The water is filled with [link=eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=3780]Gauladian Widemouth[/link] snakes, but these will not attack at level fifty-one. There are two gnolls on the platform coming out of the water however. One of these did attack me at level fifty-one. (This would be no big deal, excepting that he charmed me, which knocked out my pet and bugged me, so I couldn't summon a new one!)
The Ishva Mal doesn't spawn at point '5' on the map, however. Point '5' is just the entrance to another small area, which doesn't appear on the map! You jump in the pond and have a look about. The area is much like the region in which the Tesch Val Deval'Nmak spawns, just to give you an idea of what to expect.
I would strongly recommend clearing this area out, since I have seen Ishva wipe out a level fifty-three necro, who thought it'd be a good idea to walk in and set up in his room. (You can do this, because nothing will attack you in the corner of the room to the left of the door. Don't ask me why, but I have seen it done.)

A little more information for you.
(My last port was made, while I camped out, after the charm bugging my pet. I thought I'd have a look and see if there was any useful information, before charging in all gung-ho. *Grin*)
From the exit of the water, you'll be in a round'ish room, with one exit. One gnoll spawns in that room. He's green, but probably not too far green. (And a caster!) But, the L49 necro pet, with Augment Death has no problem with him. I really recommend killing this guy off, since I used Englufing Darkness and pulled to this room.
The exit is a crossroads. Green gnolls spawn in the rooms to the left and the right. (Two on the left and three on the right, I think.) I killed these before proceeding, but in retrospect, this isn't necessary. The door on the middle leads to a larger room. There are two large pillars on the left hand side, behind which there are two guards. (These are dark blue at level fifty-one and hit for up to ninety-nine points of damage! However, they are fairly easy to single pull. (As in I managed it every time, without problems.))
More immediately, there are two light blue gnolls just inside the door. Single pulling these two wasn't a problem. (And, if you get them both, they're low enough level that rooting one shouldn't be a problem.)
There are two smaller rooms off the larger room. One to the right, which has three green gnolls and one further to the back, on the left. The Ishva Mal spawns in the room on the left. After killing the gnolls at the door, I pulled the guards to the round room. (Pulled with Engulfing Darkness and followed with Asystole and Envenomed Bolt. (And an Insideous Retrogression to finish the job.)) Each guard took the pet to about half life.
Inside the Ishva's room, there is another guard. (I thought it was two, from my previous visit. But it sems there is not. Probably one of the guards outside had run in.) My first attempt, was to cast Screaming Terror on the guard, expecting The Ishva Mal to run after me. (I had parked my pet in the round room.) The Screaming Terror stuck just fine, but Ishva didn't come after me. *Shrug*
My second attempt, I cast Screaming Terror on the guard again and immediately followed it with an Engulfing Darkness on Ishva. This worked just fine. Both spells stuck and Ishva followed me to the round room. (He immediately cast Invoke Fear2 on me, which happilly, I resisted.)
The fight lasted precisely seventy-four seconds! He soaked up an Envenomed Bolt, an Asystole and an Insideous Retrogression. Further, I made two attempts at castimg Screaming Terror on him. One stuck; one didn't. At the end of it, my pet had 76% of his hitpoints and I had full life and two bubbles of mana. (Although he did chew through my Steelskin.)
He dropped the Summon Corpse spell, (which is what I went in for,) a NO DROP brain and the robe. I was hunting up the spell for a friend, so I'm working on the basis that the robe is my reward for bein' nice! *Grin*
Anyhow, there ya go. Hopefully, that should give you a pretty good idea of what you face. If you're a necromancer, he's certainly very solo'able at level fifty-one. (With a little care.)

hehehe, i (51 magi) went in there with a 46 magi and a 36 warrior, cleared our way to the bridge where u drop off to the ishva. cleared our way and killed him and he dropped the Robe... the other mage took it, cuz i was just there for the metal for the Pheno focus quest... he was an easy fight for the 51 Vocarate pet, the focused 44 Fire pet, and the 36 Warrior.
I stayed behind hoping to solo the Ishval after a previous group cleared the room and left for the night.
I had a good, fully buffed pet and was FOM. Unfortunately it practically chained a constant 15 second stun, and tried unsuccessfully to hit me with Fear2 a couple times. In the few chances I was able to cast a spell, nothing I used would land on it. It whittled my pet down to near nothing and I was only barely able to Gate out.
Bring a group.

I camped him lastnight with 9 others from my guild.... I asked for a little help, a bunch showed up. We were all 50+ so it was a walk in the park to get to his spawn point.
We arrived and killed Ishva Mal's Place Holder, and then moved into his room. After about 35 mins we began to wonder why he hadn't spawned and then we moved away from the fire in his room, and then POP The Ishva Mal. We killed him quickly .... I dont think anyone took damage, it was so fast ... 10 lvl 50+ whacking on him .... LOL.
He dropped the brains, a FS weapon, and Summon corpse spell.
We set our timer.... 28 mins later he poped ( this time we were away from the fire) .. we killed again. Pretty much same loot as before.
We decided to wait once more...28 mins ..Pop .. Kill....WOOT! I got my Robe.
Moral:
1. The Ishva Mal or his Place Holder is on a 28 minute timer.
2. Do not hang out near the fire at the 28 minute mark... he wont spawn till you move.
3. 10 lvl 50+ people (1 of which was a 60 warrior w/epic) is overkill...LOL

After swimming through the secret passage, you will come to a landing. A Gnoll with a pet was there, did not aggro on group. But will killed him anyway. go through hall, there is a door to your right, an opening to your left and a door straight ahead. Go through the door that is straight ahead. There are two gnolls on each side of the door when you enter. The conned Light Blue to me at 50. The room that spawns the Ishva Mal is at the end of this area on the left. There will be two guards outside of the room. Both conned blue at 50. Inside this room is where the Ishva spawns. Once you kill the place holders inside, he spawns every 30 minutes. We were only here to get the spell for a Necromancer in my guild. We killed him twice:

Either my group got very lucky, or this spawn has changed. My group camped the Ishva mal last night, for about 3 or 4 hours. Got 4 Ishva's in that time, 3 brains, 3 summon corpse spells, and 4 robes. After reading these other posts, I'm thinking we got very lucky.
BTW, we had no deaths during the camp, with a 51 sk, 51 mage, 50 cleric and 36 cleric (me). However, i did drown once getting in there, because I got turned around in the water. Was my first time in Infected Paw. Luckily, we had our rez machine, and I got back the rest of my lost exp, on the first 2 guard kills.

Hes 30 minute spawn, Dropped the Summon corpse spell 8/10 times, he always dropped his brain, one of his Guards dropped the Summon corpse spell and a Gnoll Hide lariat, and I think it was a Gnoll hide Tome (Not exactly Sure I'll have to ask Nerwin he looted). Anyway we were Trying to get a Robe (Got lucky last two drops hehe..) and hes a Necro, His PH Can be a Wizard,Mage, Or Enchanter. (Trust me I recognize that Fly back 12 feet spell from any wizard), Saw him summon a mage pet, and I saw him Charm a lvl 57 rogue (who about finished me off hehe..) but thats just my 2 cents. Brains are definitely NODROP, and I think they are LORE too. Killed her last night and didn't loot the brains because I never loot NODROP items that I can't use.
