Im owndering if this guy is with QRG Protected Animals just like normal treants. Im soon to ding to 22, and in a few lvls, me and my druid buddy are going after this guy.

Killed Grizzleknot tonight just west of the Centaur stables. I had just logged in (and he was my first kill) so I couldn't say what placeholders need to go down for him to show up. He was travelling north to south and was a little tougher than the other treants wandering around South Karana. Dropped the Cloak of Leaves and the piece of wood for Totemic Armor.
I wasn't even hoping for him - instead I was looking for a Centaur Charger - and just got super lucky.

i killed him at lvl 35 (war)no prob, with the help of my lvl 34 freind tobak! (34 war)it was way easy! we beat the hell outta him! anyway it was random spawn, he just popped down at the spires in SK, so we killed him. he dropped the claok and bark, i won the roll :)

Some of you are not going to like this but here goes. The last two nights I have been hunting the zombies in SK. Trying to get Zombie skin to make poison vials. I collected over 220 skins in about 8 hours of camping at the site. The first night I was there I picked up Grizz on track, I told a friend and he said kill it, so I did, got the bark and cloak. Got done settle in to take out some more Zombies and checked track, and he was up again. I told my guildmate and he TPed in and killed him this time. Last night (night 2) I was killing zombies and he showed up on track again. I killed him looted the cloak again and shouted for someone to loot the bark. No takers, what a shame. All I can say was I killed every skelly and zombie that spawned at the Obelisk and the wanderers that came by every now and then within spell range. So I saw him 3 times within 8hrs of camping within a 26hr span. Good Luck!!!

I have checked around for grizzleknot for like 7 days now, i ask people in the zone, got trackers looking for him had people kill the cyclops, undead cyclops the wondering treant, not sure about the named gnoll ren rex in EK and nothing. what i would like to know is if anyone knows the spawn area, how to make him spawn if theres is a way, what is his placeholders if any and if there is a way if you can tell he has spawned?

Ok tonight was at shadowman camp (had a necro friend single pullin for me) soloin shadowmen for the essence, when grizz walks by, since my friend was meddin I jumped him (yellow at 27)
hard fight but I didnt even use HT. Did have to recast a pet once hehe..... so its doable at lvl 27 and maybe thats a place to look... yes he dropped bark and cloak--- now to see if I can do the quest LOL

Can someone tell me where this treant spawns or usually roams. I know it's rare but that's the name of the game, (EVERQUEST).

Do not pay for this item! It's not worth whatever someone is charging you unless they are just looking to pay for the Dufrenite. Other than having a good AC, this item is useless to a high level Shaman. At 44, I am never in combat. Give me a Bloodstained Tunic over this anyday. If I happen across Grizz someday, I'll go to Kedge and get the other piece, otherwise, it's a looks only breastplate.

try resist and AC bp. at 52 i melee all the time (given mob is feared or slowed). but being on a pvp server i need melee skills maxed and ac and resist cause at anytime a_druid_927515 will wing death you. hey, which item looks better? totemic or BS? which is better? 4 wis could help me out a lot but its only 40 mana or so. i dont know, if you come across the item get the bp. hes right, BS tunic better on a blue server, but not a pvp.
totemic gear is for the melee shaman. its fun just collecting the items.

Was walking through SK on way to cent camp to make some Crafted and walked into Griz on the way. He was near the shore between Trent camp and stone bridge, closer to trents.

I've seen grizleknot as far south as the Aviak tree house (Aka KFC) He wanders alot!

Im just saying that this BP is just nice to have cause it a little better AC and weight than the BS tunic. It also looks a lot better. who cares about 20-40 more mana? thats like a root for me.

It's funny how jelous you all get about druids soloing ability. I solo'd for a looong time and then when i began to group i was fine and there was no problem in me finding one. Just because a druid solo's for a while doesn't mean he'll be bad in a group later.

hehe what a flamefest! If it makes any of you shaman's happier I got qwillmane after I had already DDed him and a druid then snared him, he ran OOM and 4 dd's later I got the exp and the pegasus cloak. He was a tad upset to say the least.
I have seen Grizz ONCE. I was oom and was trying desperately to cani/regen as fast as I could but....you guessed it a druid killed it, big deal! I might see him again and I might not. I don't care one way or the other. A BS tunic is better anyway for the mana pool and red does seem to go well with the drab green! hehe
I don't think the treants are PHer's, I haven't figured out his PHer yet but I have a very good idea what it is. No need to ***** up that faction is the way I figure it even though I have gotten the two druid spells I need.

Since they have been mostly anti social towards other classes and soloed most of their lives they will be in world of hurt when the tactics do a 180 degree turn around and they haven't a clue. Most of the druids I know are great people, few are real pains in the backside.

They need to do something about this guy. As it is, it is nearly impossible for a shaman to do his bp quest. Druids have tracking and this guy drops good druid items like cloak of leaves and treant staff. This crap makes me sick. Its bad enough that clerics kill the glacier bear for the extremely rare idol for their quest, and now we got druids that can track that want to kill this guy. I have never seen grizzleknot. I have however seen a druid selling a totemic bp 3 times. Thats ****** up people, you need to stop.

I damn well agree. i have never seen Grizzleknot and God knows I have spent enough time In South Karana looking for him. Oh, no, I have other people killing him. How am i supposed to finish my quest for the Totemic Armor?

You're such a troll, Famulus. Implying that he "can't kill Grizz" is nothing but flamebait; his only problem is *finding* Grizzleknot.
To the original poster: just hire a ranger, or better yet, grab a ranger friend who you know and trust. They track *better* than druids. You WILL get to Grizzleknot first that way.

Why are shamans and druids at each other's throats here? I've partied with many druids and they were all exempliary people. Why couldn't a shaman and druid work together to fell Grizz, perhaps the shaman could return the favor by helpin the druid with one of his quests. Shamans and druids work very well together. If your gonna pick apart a class for being too powerful or for being smiled upon by Verant for no reason, then you gotta talk Bards. Of course, bards have always been the Jack-of-all-trades, that's been true since D&D, but their knowledge and pactice in those skills was hampered by the fact that they were masters of none. In EQ bards become very skilled at so many classes it sickens me. Bards get track? Bards get dual wield? Hell, even Paladins and Shadow Knights dont get dual wield! Perhaps verant thought that Bards were lacking somewhat and decided to boost their powers, but they have certainly over stepped the bounds of reason. A bard in a party should not be at the forefront flailing away at a creature, they should be behind the wizards sining their little songs to boost morale or whatever it is they do. I can understand why they get certain skills, but it truly upsets me that they can raise the skill levels so high. Scratch that, I'm not so much upset as I am blinded by rage! That's it, I'm gonna go drink myself into a stupor than log on and lay waste to the bard guild in Qeynos.

Secondly: (and, please, I am NOT intending to flame or **** anyone off in any way, but, good Sir, have you ever played a Bard?)
Dual wield? As good as useless without dual attack. Least it looks good, and that's one of the ONLY reasons I play a Bard. Most of us would GLADLY take Bash like a Paladin/Shadowknight, or Kick like a Ranger any day, if anything.
Track? Poorly. VERY poorly. More trouble than it's worth, ugh.
Pick locks? Capped at 40 or so. Useless against most locks in the game with the exception of some in Befallen.
Forage? Worse than newly-born Iksars, last I checked...
I have many other examples, and please feel free to contact me if you'd like to discuss anything, I'm trying to keep it short as this is not the place to discuss Bards at all.
One more small thing: If I want to play an effective, enjoyable class, I play my Shaman.

I am a shammy, and i see nothing wrong with druids killing griz. The person earlier mentioned it was economics.. and he is right.... you think i dont do that same kinda stuff... i have happened upon the AC 5 times this week, and got payed pleanty for helping people multiquest the jboots... does that make me a bad guy for killing it instead of waiting for the wanna be quad kiteing wizzie to stop by? i dont think so. Besides all that, the totmeic bp is a piece of crap, get a bs tunic or .... hell.. anything... the only piece of totemic that is worth a damn is the healm, and in all honesty, get a runed circlet... why not get 4 wis and 4 int instead of just 5 wis? anyways... get over it... stop stressing about it, its just some pixels that make your shammy look like he is wearing crappy armor anyways ( note the rusty brown color of it ) and go kill something... enjoy the game... not that hard folks

So what if druids tend to monopolise Grizzleknot? Then have the gall to try and sell the BP for hundreds of plat? EVERYONE else does it to the warriors. Quit ********* we have to hang around that area so dam much for the other parts of the quest your bound to find it eventually. Go make friends with the people in the zone and post a reward or somthing for whomever finds you grizzleknot. Sheesh, so what if we can't get it? There are better armors for us out there! Just remember druids get bitter about our abilities too!

BP for hundreds of plat? no no no. it sells for thousands of plat. 10 k on tallon, prolly 5 on blue servers. i think this is one of the hardest medium lvl quest for armour there is in the game. not sure.

It's not hard. Once you find Griz you kill him. Paladin Ro breastplate consists of you killing sand giants for Sands of Ro, killing gargoyles INSIDE Castle Mistmoore for MM granite, killing gnome clockworks in Solusek A and getting very bad faction for melatite, killing Ancille Cooks once again INSIDE MM in the MIDDLE of the castle, killing tons of faeries in LFay for faerie dusts and then improving necessary factions to turn the faerie dusts into soil of underfoot, enchanting plat bars, running to Temple of Sol Ro in Lavastorm and getting the pot to combine the pieces into ronium, going to Rathe Mtns (land of Giants BTW) and retrieving the mold (if faction is high enough), and then finally running to a forge to make the BP. Now, please tell me again that the Totemic BP quest is hard compared to that one. I hope you shamans get your BP, but it's harder to wait than harder to do.

sounds kinda tough but..... Rangers need the ronium as well as a second mm granite to get there boots.... what you go through for a breastplate we do for boots

This definately does work. I've done it before. The only thing you have to make sure of is that the person you are giving the items to will give all the people in the quest. If the NPC tells someone 'Begone!', etc in response to asking about the quest, any items handed in by that person are lost.

I have heard of this dual questing before on more than one occasion. I have never tried it though. You hand in some items and when the NPC asks "where's the rest"? the other person hands in the remainder and that person gets prize. It's a costly lesson if it doesn't work, but great if it does.

I think all the quest items for totemic armor are no drop, so one person has to have both items in order to complete the quest. Sorry.

A guildbrother has the Lancer Fish Fin and I have the Grizzlenot bark. Q. If my guildbrother gives the fin to Kyralynn first and I gave her the crushed Duf, the bark and the banded after...would she still give me the BP?

i believe it still works. try it. one of you will get the bp then give the bp to the shaman. just make sure both of you dont have another bp stashed in bank so you dont get a extra lore item which will destroy the bp.

The totemic Breastplate is worth 3kpp-6kpp just because of this.It is very rare.All the shamen i have met that have it(Well most of them)gave up camping him then ended up killing him later when he walked past them somewhere else ).

i camped grizz on my own. 3 days of my summer vaction. well worth it. nice bp. i wont settle for anything but a rune etched. its worth 10k plat to me cause if you dont camp rare items try this guy or glacier bear, or blige. anyhow, who cares about 4 more wis. totemic looks much better that BS tunic.

Me and a buddy of mine spent about 7hrs running around SouthK killing every treant we could find roaming around. I believe i know were he spawns and everytime we went back to were i thought it was another treant would be there or nothing at all, so im assuming he doesnt appear everytime and he has a placeholder. Just for record i think we killed the roaming treant about 6 times, maybe more and still no sighting. Has anyone seen him lately, i play on the Nameless and have never seen him once. I say i have spent a total of 11 or 12 hrs looking for him. Do i just have bad luck or has his spawn time been raised or what?
