Just saw him right now pathing the same as Mooto would, from one goblin camp to another. First time I ever saw "a goblin alchemist". I left him up in case someone wants him. lol

60+ hours in the gorge, saw him today. We were wiping everything (a friend came along to share the fun...errr.). Dropped the club.

The latest patch to the patch has fixed the pathing in the Gorge (pretty much). I spent about 16 hours camping the intersection, killing every Goblin in sight. He popped right on the 72 minute cue - there are 2 wandering 6-minutes spawns, and the Alchemist placeholder is an odd third spawn in the same point. Just keep accurate time of the 2 regular wanderes at the intersection, and the one out of pattern is your 72-minute placeholder.
Good Luck! This one has been 6 months+ as impossible...

I know they revamped the gorge many months ago, and the spawn spots that are listed in the guides are no longer there (now a muddite recordkeeper spawns close to RE and there apears to be no other goblin spawns near RE). If anyone knows a loc that he pops at and a spawn time (im assuming it would still be 70 min unless they put him in rotation at the muddite recordkeepers spawn) I would aprecate this. I know this is old school armor, but I would like it just the same.

Well, I saw (and killed) him on October 13 2003, so he still spawns. Seemed to spawn close to Runnyeye, then started walking/running down the path to the right. He was attacked by a muddite and a mino, but I helped him kill them off...before I killed him! Dropped the mace, but I had no idea what it was for, so I've since destroyed it. Oh well.

The pathing in the Gorge is messed up, even confirmed by the dev team. They changed the PH to a wanderer instead of static, so it walks away and gets stuck in the walls. I heard people say it drops in Misty from the other Alchemist, but I have not seen that drop in over 12 kills - only the ribcage.

Any info on this would be appreciated! :)

Got Him

I just got them, been camping them for 20-25 hours in totals, i already have gem inlaid gauntlet, but i've been thinking some things

1) doing that quest may not be that good but i`'s good practice of patiences for raster later.

2) having a good timer near your comp is real good

Jehiron
31 monk of cazic-thule

P.S. He spawn near the right rock by runny entrance, there`s two ph at the same place, wait until there's two goblins at the same time on the spot (they're both roaming up to the standing stone) kill them both and set timer for 72 minutes, after 72 minutes kill the pop, and wait again.
I've personnaly been taking the 72 minute wait to go and hunt in runny and camp EE. i even had a run to HHK to help a friend on a transfer. Just make sure to be there by the spawn when it pop.

A piece of advice, 5-10 minutes before pop run to EE room and kill minos and run back in right path, it would be VERY frustrating being KS by a minos, because even you you do 99.9% of the damage if the minos give the last hit you lose the loot.
Spawn

Friday afternoon he spawned. Here is the new problem: There are 2 factions in the gorge sine the Runnyeye revmap. The factions are the goblins and everything else. Each is KoS to the other.(not real sure on the muddites, but the minos definately kill all goblins they come across)

He spawned on the rock behind the 2 lookouts near Runnyeye.

Last night The Alchemist spawned so I did a who all monks and found the nearest high level one and called him over. I hunt there fairly often so if your in the Xegony server and in the neighborhood give me a tell and I'll let you know if hes been around

I just finished camping this guy for 20 hours straight without getting him, if you get him in less then 30 hours your lucky. Considering the head GM on my server told be it might be another 3 weeks before he spawns again
Timing the Spawn
# Jun 16 2001 at 5:13 PM Rating: Good
OK, here's the Gorge story. There's a spawn point at the turn in traffic just outside the entrance to Runnyeye. Actually, there are TWO spawn points at exactly the same spot. The goblins that spawn there will wander down to that goblin lookout where the path drops off, then they will turn around and come back to their spawn point. If you see a goblin or two standing there in the path, kill them and note the time. If there are two you know you took out the placeholder and your next shot at the alchemist will be in 72 minutes. If you only killed one, wait for the next pop. If it's 6 minutes later then you killed the goblin in the 6-minute spawn which does not spawn the alchemist. If it's less than 6 minutes then you just killed the placeholder for the 72-minute spawn that does include the alchemist. Once you know when that next 72-minute pop will be, you can go do other things (hunt minos, practice Instill Doubt on that goblin standing to the side, switch to another character, whatever) just keep an eye on the clock to get back there just before the 72-minute pop. If it's the alchemist great, if not kill the placeholder and note the next pop time.
Not that long

I had just spent about 8 hours killing the three gob camps over and over in rivervale to get the other alchemist (was at the camp further back from runnyeye, not next to runnyeye). Ran through runnyeye to the gorge and he was right there waiting for me, so I got both of those parts in a span of like 5 minutes.

Just lucky I guess. Have seen him there outside runny eye 3 times now.

I spent last night killing goblins timing mooto and killing orcs for faction to earn rivervales gaurd ring. Mooto seems to spawn every 18 minutes at the goblin camp farthest away fromt he tunnel to runnyeye. I have seen three things spawn there instead of him... a goblin warrior, a goblin shaman, and a goblin alchemist. The goblin alchemist dropped a ribcage bp (chest) 6ac +3MR (I think)lore item no drop. he seemed to spawn about evry fifth or sixth time. mooto and his placeholders spawn in the door of the goblin hut, so that is the one to kill if you want the alchemist. And if anybody Knows what the ribcage is good for please drop a line here.

Don't mix the two up, there is an alchemist on each side of Runnyeye & each drops a different piece needed for the quest. The one in Misty supposedly spawns a whole lot more though, and you're even more likely to find an upper level who just killed 'im willing to give you the rib cage than you are to find help with the gorge one & the mace.

I am currently camping this Alchy with my Monk friend, who seems to think these Fist things are wonderful. I am a 17th season Barbarian Shaman, and I say this stupid little monster is worth it. We're still waiting, but we've group with various odd folks who happen by, and gotten a lot of experience. The mobs are pretty easy for a group of 2 or 3 and the loot's not too bad. Hardly anyone camps this zone so there is little competition.

Plus Monks are great. I'd go to the ends of Norrath
for mine.

I don't remember what level I was but I was in Misty Thicket just slaughtering goblins for no reason and he showed up. I killed him with no problem, he was yellow, he droped a his ribcage and I wore it sometimes and destroyed it a few days later.

I camped him for 8 hours on Saryrn continously killing everything that wandered past.

He didn't spawn once. So maybe the goblins aren't phs.

I gave up on the quest at this point. The combine thing is a pain in the bum, otherwise another class could hand in the mace for you. (I know several non monks with the **** thing stashed)

Killed him on Cazic Thule, on Oct 14 2000. Took 11 1/2 hours before he finally spawned and it wasn't a PH.

I just killed the alchemist on Thollux Paells (or however it is spelled) I am a 14 Warrior and I was grouped with a 14 rogue and a 13 cleric. he was red, but wasn't too hard to kill. the Alchemist ust have been 16-17. He spawned on just to the right straight out from the Runnyeye zone. Dropped the Bone.

I recently found and killed him (yesterday in fact). He spawns on the fork at runneye entrance and is a 74 min spawn with various goblin placeholders. His spawns happens to be on top of a quicker spawn at the same spot. Hope that helps.

When i was a lvl12 cleric, me and my group went to hunt goblin lookouts and minos at the Runnyeye zone. When we got there guess who was there to greet us. You guessed it. We gave it a shot but the highest lvl in the party of 6 was lvl 15. He opened a fresh can on all of us, luckily there were no casualitys.

3 days played time so far, and there have been other monks camping when I have been away. 5 full days and this guy hasn't popped. I urge all monks not to waste their time on this quest.
Oh the luck...

I was a level 18 monk passing through the gorge to get to Rivervale when this guy casted on me. He commenced to whooping my tail but I got my feign death off. Luckily a 18 wiz shouted "18 wiz lfg" and I asked him to help me polish him off. We did and I'm the owner of a nice humerous mace. ;) Now to get my friends to go to the other places and finish this bad boy off.

Luck does happen. 2 days prior to this act of luck I wandered into Pyzgin in Qhills and she dropped a glowing black stone. ;)

I totally disagree with you on that one. I have a level 35 monk. Yeah sure, this guy may have took me 8 hours to get him to spawn, but it was well worth it because the gloves are better than any I have even tried to get. Not only that, with silver looking bracers, the gloves make a good match. :)

This was such a nice way to introduce that class that didn't need equipment to the camping scene. Now whenever I run past the spawn area, there is almost always a monk there. Welcome to EverCamp
