In the Plane of Fear: A personal guard of Cazic Thule. Can deathtouch the same as his fellow guard Fright.

In Fear Itself (static): Located inside the Ring of Fire. There are 7 mobs that roam around the base of the Temple inside the Ring of Fire. The two out front are trash mobs and can be ignored. The one on the south, two on the west, and two on the north face are ALL placeholders for Dread (all called "a delirious _____" which can be different mob types; only the ones inside the ring of fire are Dread's PHs).

In Fear Itself (group): Part of the "An Offering to Thule" group mission (see this quest entry for information).

In Fear Itself (raid): Part of the "Cazic's Final Stand" raid event (see this quest entry for event and loot information).

In the Heart of Fear: Part of the event "An End to Fear" (see this quest entry for the group version and this quest entry for the raid version).

In Plane of Fear Revisited:

  • HP Estimate: 682,626,455

I think Dread was harder in the old world Fear. I expected a death touch or something.
105 Druid with WAR Merc.

In Fear Itself, I found him inside the ring of fire at the south end. No other mobs nearby. Merc took him down quickly. About 50% he cast a dot on me that took most of my mana. I was able to get two heals off before it went to zero. Fortunately, I only needed to heal her once. I hate it when people say how easy a mob was to kill, so I won't say that. But, I had no difficulties whatsoever with this mob.

He dropped Fear Plane Pauldrons and Ambiguous Remnant of Desire.

Uses the ability "Scarab Storm," which is a DD with a DoT on it, easily cured as it is a disease counter. However, he also uses some ability that doesn't show a name in the log file that reads "soandso's mind is crushed by unseen forces," and is a Mana/Endurance DoT that drains everyone pretty quick. Occasionally he will use a spin stun AE that doesn't show in the log file (parsed over 7 fights with him, this and the Mana/End drain never show as being cast, which leads me to believe they may be auras - in fact, on one kill, it kept trying to hit us after he was dead, and didn't stop until he was finally looted and disappeared). Overall he is not a difficult fight, but can be a bit much for just a T5 merc healer. Also drops Ambiguous Remnant of Greed, Ambiguous Remnant of Desire, Ambiguous Remnant of Fear, and Dread's Plating (All/All shoulders). Also can drop a multitude of different spell shards, I can confirm we have gotten Greater and Glowing Nebulous Dream Fragments from him.

This guy is cake to spawn. There are 7 mobs that roam around the base of the Temple inside the Ring of Fire. The two out front are trash mobs and can be ignored. The one on the south, two on the west, and two on the north face are ALL placeholders for Dread. This is confirmed, as I've killed this guy at least 16 times over the span of a few days of camping the base of the temple. Best spot to camp is right against the base of the northeast corner, right up against the temple; the mobs on the first level will not aggro/add even during AE fights, and nothing wanders past this spot. Plus, you can also pull the PH for Fright (base of the ramp), and the three PHs for Nightmare of Thule (a fearful nightmare) to the north, AND, if your DPS is good, you can also pull half the PHs for Shakare and Wraith of a Shissar to the west.

Have fun, this is a great camp for gearing your guildies.

the " a delirious _____ " ( IE mobs change but all called delirious something ) inside the ring of fire , around the base of the temple. As opposed to the delirious mobs outside the ring of fire ( along the north wall ) which are PHers for Tempest Reaver. There is also one amy soldier on the east side of temple , which is a Pher for terror.
