He was already spawned when I zoned into BB & aggro'd me--yes, my faction w/BB cannot possibly get any worse.
I was a level 19 monk at full health & I knocked him down to 66% & he'd knocked me down to 27% by the time I shouted "Trannix to Zone" & got my rear in gear.
I was using one of the Skeletal Horde drops a guildie let me loot--Steel Rod of the Knight--but my 2hb wasn't the greatest @ 42, yet, all my other combat skills were maxed for my level. I'd successfully used Mend during the fight & the Rod tapped Trannix for 40 hp & healed me for 40 hps.
After reviewing the hit log, he hit me high at 38, nothing lower than 6. He hits fast and seems like he's got a double attack--maybe, I could be wrong but the log looks just like my hits when I successfully double attack.
Definitely an undercon b/c his targetting circle was dark blue.
All-in-all a good fight; during melee, my 2hb went up to 45 & I got my Bind Wounds up a few points as well after zoning.

This guy will ignore you unless your Darkpaw faction is too negative. My faction states that it could not possibly get any worse. He attacks me on sight. He cons easier than he really is.

Actually, assuming that you are KOS, he'll only ignore you if he /cons red to you. If he /cons anything from blue-to-yellow, or if he sees you fighting another gnoll, he will attack you. This goes for all Blackburrow gnolls, not just Tranixx. Whether or not he ignores you has nothing to do with how KOS you are.

after i killed the manna of the sabertooth that was sitting in the green room thwn i knowticed this guy on track. he was running around the top fairly quickly being a lvl45 druid i killed him no sweat id say he has about 700-800 hit points. he drobed a pelt, onyx earring and a bloodstone ring.
Sleep is a sugestion, just like speed limits.

I was here as a lvl 10 Cleric and Tranixx spawned. I kept telling people asking them to join me in a group and telling them we could take him with enough people. Every one just looked at me and no one responded except for a high level anonymous person. He started to attack Tranixx and when Tranixx was about half health I asked him if I could watch the show and he responded with an OK. When Tranixx was down to a little health this person asked me if I wanted to join in and I said yes and then this kind person just walked away. My spells were resisted so I just hammered Tranixx with my hammer and after a few minutes I ended it, looted the Onyx ear ring (AGI +2) and some gnoll arm bands. I got half a bulb of experience and felt sorry for all the others that just watched and never made any effert. I know I only had a very small part in killing Tranixx but I made the effort and I was rewarded for it.

for Trannix to spawn, you have to kill 3 things, not 2. first you must take down the grizzly bear, no sweat. then you must defeat the plague rat, easy. THEN you have to kill the gnoll shaman that walks around the top of the zone. He WILL NOT spawn until the shaman has been killed, trust me, ive spent long hours in BB with many of my chars

I have a lvl 19 Warrior and he only took me down about a quarter of my hit points. I do have a full set of Crusty Armor which helped. All I got was a few copper and a crappy necklace that was one AC.

Just to clear this up, the spawn trigger for trannix is first you kill the Bear. Then later you kill the Plagued rat. Then, only then does he spawn.

I saw Trannix a few days ago in the Northwest yard in North Qeynos!
to clear this up guys. the gnoll family that spawns in NQ that are named are all the ones you guys named, all but the lord guy spawn here. i know this well becuase i have killed them all. trannix is a rare spawn i belive but others aren't. fippy spawns alot and so does djerr, but for a 25 paladin there no problem. holonis and garrax will be triggered if you kill fippy and djerr enough times, djerr will run to the guards not fippy this time and another a differnt gnoll will be in djerr's spot, but its never know which named gnoll will spawn there.

hmmm, there is a named Darkpaw family gnoll there, but that is "Flippy Darkpaw" i believe.

Flippy is usually who spawns in N. Queynos, but the other day Tannix was in there. I was about to go beat on him, but when I conned him he was red to my lvl 11 shaman. I took the guards quite a few hits to take him out.

Yeah, Tranixx definately spawns in N. Qeynos. Though I think he spwans considerably lower level here. I killed Tranixx Darkpaw in NQ solo with an 11th level Shaman. He only got me down 66%hp too.

There is also a Holonis Darkpaw in NQ. Drops a gnoll paw that i still haven't figured out what to do with.

I used to use the little cubby behind the tree trap to rest figuring it is safer than the zone area due to trains i was wrong, I have seen everything from a Gnoll Pup to a burly Gnoll spawn in here and have killed them all, it does however 95% of the time seem that when you kill one of the gnolls that pop here the grizzlyt will pop next, kill the grizzly then the giant plague rat pops kill it then trannix pops, he hits hard and fast barely took him down solo with a 17 at the time SK and i used harm touch it took about a 3rd of his life! 171 points being about a 3rd i would guess he has around 500 hit points! (Note: the giant plague rat and Grizzly may be reversed it has been awhile)
I don't know if it's just in the Morell Thule server, but he doesn't aggro anyone no more. Plenty of people just sit by on the top floor and kill gnolls right in front of him and he doesn't bug them. Now it's only the people who actually attack him that he bugs. Just wanted to let youse know and was curious if he's like that in any other servers?

Have evened the score between him & my paladin. He dropped some Rawhide Gloves, an Onyx Earring & a Cat's Eye Agate along with some gold the first time I killed him & a gold & some silver the next.
He is obviously tied to the Gnoll Commander & Elite Gnoll Guard loot tables, so don't expect much if he is green to you

I saw this guy yesterday with my 7th Lvl Shaman. I had just come into the zone from the Everfrost side, and was about to attack the scrawny Gnoll that guards the first two rooms in the entrance tunnel. He came cruising by the scrawny gnoll so I retreated to close to the zone egde in case I needed to escape. He ran to where I was, turned and ran back to the main area. I ended up running right past him all the way to Qeynos Hills.

Ok everytime im going through BB with my druid this guy seems to spawn everytime Im heading to Everfrost i also kill him everytime the only loot ive got was a few copper or so each time.

I just killed Trannix on E. Marr. I entered zone and he ws chasing another ouyt of zone. Took him down with level 16 War. Conned Yellow to me. Only loot was 1 and 1/2 PP.

[LVL 23 Necro]I was in the burrow, wasting time camping the Master brewer (just to say that i have seen and killed him) Meanwhile I hear this guy shout to the zone. So I run up and beat him down. He had spiked shoulder pads that were +5str and -10mag resistance ( i forget ac at the moment). Happy that I got to kill this guy i go wait for the Master brewer again and about an hour later he's back. I run up again, but this time just some gold. I went back down again and later on (I don;t remember how much longer) he was back... THREE times. This time he had just gold again. It was funny in a way, camping one spawn only to get another. But this does show that there must be a trigger, because I have been in bb with many characters and never see him at all.

I too have had a rare encounter with Tranixx, only wishing it was at a more opportune time. With a group, we had just cleared the Elite guard room and the commanders room(possible spawn trigger?). I was roughly 14th lvl and down to 50% hp, and alone when leaving the lower levels I encountered him on level 1. Being a named monster, I pushed it to the limit, only to die with him down to the last blow. I would put him at around 12th through my experience. Unfortunately, I have never encountered him again. I saw him alot when I was a newbie and lived in BB. I'm not positive, but I think that others are right when they say that he is a triggered spawn. The rumor I remember hearing is that you have to kill the plague rat/grizzly bear place holder until a 'gnoll scout' spawns up top. If the scout is left alive, he'll eventually despawn, and Trannix will show. I've killed the grizzly bear a couple of times, and each time a rat spawned afterwards. I think that either the rat or bear can be a place holder for the scout, but the bear is more rare. So if you ever see a scout up top, leave him alone and watch Trannix come kill all the newbies 8)

The name of the gnoll for the gnoll slayer is Lord Elgnub he spawns in the spiked room next to the locked door. To get him to spawn you have to clear out the room repeatedly in less than 10 mins he is very rare spawn about lvl 25 i think

You could easily do it with a 25 Paladin. Although why you would want to remains a mystery to me... at that level.. there is just too many other things better.

this guy is one of those guys where you have to kill placeholders for him to spawn. when you go into BB, off to the left, behind the tree trap there is a dead end tunnel, I think his place holders spawn i there, and like the infamous Cuburt in the Qeynos catacomes, the # of placeholders you have to kill to get him to spawn is random. Hope that helps.

I think Trannix spawns on a dayly basis
(game day that is) but I've got know idea at what hour or time of day he spawns. As sitkan said he does start shouting about killing all the humans and whatnot so when he does spawn you will know about it.

I was in bb when he spawned and he took out most of the little guys up top. By the time I got there he was unhurt and chasing people all over. I bs'd him and then he focused on me. I'm a rogue that was camping elites for their skins. The fight was hard and at level 20 he conned blue and took me down to 20hp before a friend helped and took him out. As for what to do to get him to spawn, I don't know. What I do know is that when he does spawn he does a shout and lets everyone know about it.
