Rough Animal PeltHey all, I can confirm this for sure. I camped him just last night. His new spawn is in bottom middle part of the map of Lesser Faydark at the Dark Elf camp of the Tier'Dal.
I think we went through 3 or 4 sets of the Tier'Dal Elites before he finally came in. Once down he Dropped a "Glowing Sword Hilt" Spawn time from when we got there was about 1.5 to 2 hours.

I was in LFay for almost 4 hours with some uber guildmates. We cleared the camp about 12 times due to lengthy spawn times. Xic never popped. Try again tomorrow. I'll post it if he spawns.

I have been camping this spot for 3 days and have yet to get Xicotl to spawn. Anyone know the rate on this guy?

I never even thought that they might put Xicotl in that teir'dal camp. I can't play until Sunday night so I hope you're right. I'll check it out then and then post results unless someone else gets around to it first.

placeholder seems to be on a 12 or 15 minute cycle. Rest of camp i think is two hours. but still as slow to pop as when he was in Mistmoore

Ok yeah, i just got him to spawn. He is one of the spawns by the camp fire. His place holder is the Teir'Dal elite. That's the only one you need to kill

Think the type of spawn around that camp is random. There were about 4-5 Teir'Dal elites just now when I checked.

I have been working on trying to figure out where the popular mistmoore mobs spawn and this is what I have so far:
The once 'undead' spire now only has one skeleton spawn, and is surrounded on a perimeter by various initiate/pledge familiars. In close on or by the pedestal you will find Enyti, a hemo enologist, an ***'t librarian, a librarian, a fallen noble.. i believe that is it... i may have to repost if i see more.
Oh and the Black Dire mob can be found north and west of the undead spire. I've seen it up for quite some time being here (on track)
The orc camp at loc 250, 375, contains many other spawns: Maid Issis, a cloaked damphyre, an advisor, Butler Syncal, Princess Cherista, an avenging caitiff, Lasna Cheroon. Of these mobs i saw at this camp only the cloaked damphyre have i seen only once, the others are somewhat common. My guess is that Xicotl will spawn at this camp, but that is only a guess. i'm going to continue killing here to see.
The third orc camp that is east and south from the prior camp contains gypsies/werewolves and that is all I've seen there. Hope this helps people but the only thing i'm really looking for is Xicotl for my pally... very frustrating

Yeah thats what i figured, mabey if im lucky i kept running to all 3 spots you said killing the werewolves, orc camp, and spire. Yesterday i did get a necro to spawn in place of the skeleton, sorta jogged my memory a bit. Hey at least you can get some decent stuff to give to noobies or alts for that matter from all the camping here :) well im gonna try it again to see if i can make him spawn good luck to everyone trying. If i find him i will let ya know!!!

Well i've camped the spire area for about 5-6 hours killing "a skeleton" every 15 mins hes is up thats the only one that spawns every time, but i could be wrong. I thought mabey it was his PH for the new zone... im probably wrong but was a good shot, just got tired of waiting for hours. I hope someone else finds him befor i go camp crazy and quit my epic lol . I will be back to this site to check and see if any more information has become available. If i find out any information myself i will post promptly , and good luck guys!

Yeah hey, it might not work but it's trying something. But apart from Xicotl spawning at one of the three places where we can find old mm mobs now, i don't see where else the troll could spawn. Maybe Xicotl is just going to spawn at one of the spots we are killing at and it's just on a VERY long/rare spawn time now. I hope not...

Anyone know where Xicotl is or his place holder. I took a 55th ranger with me and still didn't c anything of his place holder or him. Found other old MM mobs that argo from far away beware. If u know his loc or his PH's loc plz post.

My guild has raided the castle i think two times with no luck makin the guy pop. I was lower lvl than the others and was just tagging along. We were there for 5 hr's the first time and 6 hr's the next time and he never popped. We kept the entire castle clear for most of the time but he still wouldnt pop. We are going back again tonight to try yet again for a pally in our guild and i hope he pops but i'm not sure he will. What confuses me is reading all this stuff on how he pops within an hour or 2, or even three. We have been there for like 11 hr's total and nothing. Is there anything special you have to do to get this guy pop or just wait and keep killing his PH?

Well, just got done with getting the hilt. After waiting for 2 hours for him to pop, I finally started the assault. With NO buffs, he took me down to about 20% before I LoH. After that, I was at 50% when I took on 3 casting adds. They had me down to about 15% when I thought I was done with them. Right as I clicked my gate potion, a fourth came. Luckily, it hit me only once during that 10 second cast time. I did not use and kind of damage spells against him. I had about 2100HP and about 966AC. Pretty low for my level but it works. When I got to my bind point, I was out of mana and had about 6% health left. Was interesting. Other information that you might find useful:
PH's named is "a Mistmoore Guard"
She runs when below 50% (Most in castle don't)
Root and kill her.
Spawn time was clocked at 14 minutes between.
Took me 2 hours, 1 death and 1 gate potion.
Best way in is through the back entrance.
A LOT of agro!
While waiting for named, you can sit in the spa.
Had a few mobs walk right past me into secret passage way. You can still see PH and named if you look up a bit.

Placeholder is definitely on a 14 minute timer - and has less than 400hp, as Touch of Volatis kills her with one shot.
I've killed this damn PH for hours on end, and have 3 Advisor Robes, 3 Diamondine Earrings, Gypsy Lute, Lute of the Gypsy Princess, etc., etc., etc. to show for my trouble.
But no damned hilt. If I had known Xicotl was as rare a spawn as he is, I probably wouldn't have bothered. Lucan will be cake compared to this stupid camp.

Killed this guy and the first time don't have any hilt. The second time I kill him droped the hilt, was really easy at lvl 61.

I (51 clr) went with guildies (55 pally and 44 SK) to kill him and get part for pally's epic and i never had to cast CH, not once..... I think it may be possiable to MQ the soulfire. When i did my hand in, i handed bro hayle the Sword, Hilt and My testimony. I DIDNT hand him the Note from the banker. He didnt give me the sword. Then i handed him the note, and a new glowing sword in my hand.
This has led me to belive that if someone hands in the hilt 1st (still need to be Warmly or higher), then the pally hands in the other stuff, he MAY be able to get his soulfire.
BE WARNED---This is an untested method. I may test it in future when i have no soulfire.

Yes, this is definitely MQable. I was in Freeport once with my Druid alt and grabbed Sir Lucan's testimony and then did the turn-in in North Freeport. After getting my faction up (I went all the way to Ally just to be sure) I MQd it for my wife's Paladin, and it worked fine.
I headed into Castle Mistmoore and attempted to find and kill this fellow.
#1 Time 1600-1830 Eastern U.S. Real Time. Me 52 Paladin friend 58 Druid. Several Mistmoore Guards and named undead in pool. No Xicotl.
#2 Time 1700-1930 Eastern U.S. Real Time. Me and 51 Ranger. results Same as above.
#3 Time 0745-0830 Eastern U.S. Solo WIth KEU and Hand of Virtue I slayed my way in and sat in far corner of room. Both Mistmoore guard and undead lasy were up. Killed both. Mistmoore popped again and a short time later BINGO Xicotl!!
Slayed him, casted Divine Aura on myself and ran out to Tower area dropped off bridge and zoned.
MORAL: Their is no pattern for the SK. You just have to be patient and maybe a little luck and you will get him. Hopefully sooner than later

Went down to MM the other night on my 54 pally with the help of a 65 dru. We invised to the spa room and then pulled Every mob on the level, luckily the PH was up right when I got there. Dont remember her name, but a named DE in a stripper outfit. Killed about 6-7 mobs and then waited for the respawn, which took about 2 minutes. Pulled all of those to the spa room and before I knew it Xicotl pops. (didnt even notice him as I was tryin to get rid of 5 greenies until my life went down about 10pct). Killed him in about 10 seconds and looted the hilt. Was able to complete this part of the quest in about 10 minutes flat. Even had enuf time to kill Sir Lucan and get my Howling Stones key within the hour.

After many hours of camping this guy I would like to add some tips I learned for those in search of getting the hilt. First of all, if you're lvl 50+ you should have a really easy time, especially if you go in the backway through the secret entrances in the grave yard.
Most mobs will be pacify-able so it is possible to just run past mobs without fighting them if you can target them before they see you. Hitting F8 when you approach certain walls is a good way of pulling this off but it just targeting the nearest mob.
Once you get into the spa room, you can avoid aggro from the adjacent bedroom by fighting mobs in the cornor furthest away from the bedroom door.
The MM Guard is the PH'er, and you will want ot either kill her really fast or root/stun her, because she will run away if she gets the chance, she runs fast and you don't want to have to chase her down.
If you get into trouble and have to zone, start running back down the way you came (through the back) and simply jump off the bridge, which will drop you within a couple seconds run of the zone line. Hope this helps,

I timed the placeholders for Xicotl at 25 minutes. That being, if I'm correct, the pop in the direct center of the hot tub, and not the occasional bath wenches that spawn beside the pool.

Your timing of the mobs spawn seems accurate but both times I killed Xicotl he spawned in front of the tub where the guard normally stands. The tub seems to be the spawn point for the other rare mobs or nameds in that room however.

A few guildies, friends, and myself dropped this sucka a few nights ago. Total cake walk. Fight took all of 10 seconds. He spawned for us after about 20 minutes so I guess we were very lucky. So after 2 hours of bribing Lashun Novashine (or whatever his name is) with about 70pp I have a spankin new flaming sword of doom :)

A guildmate (61 mage) and I camped the spa room for almost 3 hours before he popped. The mage had her epic pet and made short work of the room spawns and Xicotl as well. I worked on my Qeynos Guard faction and got Soulfire yesterday.

Its actually Priests of Life faction that Hayle is on, and subsequently needed for the soulfire quest.

can a level 44 paladin with KEI, AEGO, haste, and paladin buffs solo this guy? any info would be appreciated.
You can't get Kei at 44 anymore so I dont know. He's only lvl 40 so if someone just cleared the room it could be possible. If not you'd need a group.
The date posted was BEFORE KEI was nerfed to 45+ only. Yes its true now, but you responded to a 5 month old post wehn he could have. BTW, I'm sure its possible to solo him even without KEI or temp or anything, just soothe room or if you do get adds you can try to root them and take Xicotl by himself. Not positive though; it would be better just to get friends/guildies to help you out like I'm going to do =)
I'm sure he realised that, he said "you can't do it ANYMORE.."

Ive been soloing most of this castle since 41, just have to know how to pull it... carefully, one room at a time. Im a pally btw, tryin to get hilt.

You could probably solo Xicotl, but considering that you will aggro multiple mobs (all dark blue to 42 pally), I don't see how this guy can be soloed.
I agree. Get a good group of like 5 players, with a couple over 50, and go in the back way.
BTW, I got my hilt in a raid of about 12 people, average level of 49. We went in the front way and camped most of the castle for like 3 hours. Lots of fun, and good loot to boot!

I have only seen this guy once (when I got my hilt). I regularly camp this for my brother-in-law's paladin who can't seem to get it to pop hehe. Bad luck I guess.
Anyway we spent hours in Mistmoore pulling the spa, the room with the gargs, the bedroom off the spa, the tower and a few other mobs around effortlessly with 52 Paladin, 46 Paladin, and me ole lady the 36 druid.
Decent loot for a small group when split too. Lots of Fine steel, essence of moonlight, gems, and the best part, Garg eyes that sell for 9 plat to vendors.
Anyhow. I think a highly buffed 44 paladin could solo this guy, but only if you have 2 or more stuns memmed (stun(30), desist(15), cease(9)) to keep those darned casters in line. Their MR is not too high, rarely does my lvl 9 stun fail even. Sneak in the back by Ssynthi and fight your way up. you will run into like 6-8 mobs before the spa room, plus up to 3 in spa. Their pathing and sight seems to suck in Mistmoore, a lot of times you can pull one if you are careful without the adds that you know should follow. Just go slow and heal often.
