I just found "an injured rat" roaming around in Qeynos Hills. I tried attacking it, but never hit it. I tried DoTting it, but my spell did not take hold.
Aha! It's part of a 10th Anniversary Quest given by Helera Garet, who is located near the PoK book in Qeynos.

i got a glowing rat perserved pelt off these thing, VERY rare drop. i have camped these and killed at least 100 of them on varios charecters but only one pelt has ever dropped can someone plz tell me what its for? its lore no drop

Apparently, the Qeynos sewers now have trivials. The injured rat no longer drops for level 6 or higher, THIS IS CONFIRMED. I would render a guess that 5 will now be the max. If you go for this spawn at that low a level, watch out, because there is a higher-level spawn not far at all from the injured rat. So far, I have seen "A Skeleton" and "A Large Snake" spawn there.

No problem getting the earring off this mob as of 7/16/06 on the Sleeper Server (new Progressive server).
Well they must have fixed it since this post ;)
My level 18 cleric found almost everything down there green & the Injured Rat popped nearly everytime and dropped the necklace everytime it popped.

Actually, my level 35 was in there the other day (chasing the NPC for Paw quest). While bored was smacking the rats around. I got 3 injured rats to spawn, just by killing the place holders.
So, not sure what you mean by "The injured rat no longer drops for level 6 or higher, THIS IS CONFIRMED", becuase I was farming them at 35. (and then gave them to everyone less than level 10 in Qeynos who wanted one)

Hah! I love it when people "CONFIRM" something. Obviously no idea what he is talking about. I was there with my 11 Shaman yesterday, and my 30s Druid the previous week. They DO drop earrings, regardless of level.

anyone know the loc? it would be helpfull...i went down there with my 34 paladin.. it wasnt good.. damn spectras..maybe i was going totaly in the wrong direction? i dunno but the loc could help for my mage on the new pvp server..thanks

First of all, when you decide to kill the small aligators (or bloated) the rats DO NOT attack you. my lvl 5 mage could take these on with no help from the rats. Second the injured rat spawns maybe 3 out of 4 times you kill everything else. thats is my 2cp for way and safe travels.

If this mob sees you attacking the small alligators that spawn in the aqueducts, it will aggro on you. When this happened to my level 6 Monk, it jumped in the water 2 times before I finally kept it on land and managed to kill it; I hate it when mobs do that! They move so much faster than you underwater.

I was at the spawn point this morning, I saw a Necromancers Pet in the water, was red to my level 10. not sure where the necro was. also saw someone run by getting kill by a sepsis rat. dont know how close sepsis rats are to that either, but you should watch out

When i am lvl 5-6 i am goin to go down here and pick up as much of these and limestone rings as i can and wear, sell, and give to newer newbies =) but i have no ide were the rat spawns, anyone help me?

ok, you know the ledge where the small alligator's spawn? Right within visable range is another ledge that spawn's large/giant rat's. Every now and then one of the rats spawns as an injured rat. In strength its the same as a giant rat. They allways drop the earing.
