I killed him with my lvl 15 druid, I had a lvl 16 druid and a lvl 15 warrior in my group. The lvl 16 nuked his pet with expulse summoned and the warrior attacked Relton while I healed the Warrior. Well i ran back a little when i ran out of mana and the lvl 16 killed his little SOB pet and the warrior and him was almost dead. So i tryed healing them but the druid died then the warrioir. I had a good bit of many left and i killed him with a couple of nukes and a stinging swarm. When I went to loot the little SOB gave me nothing.

I can not stand Renton. He makes me mad. Every time he sees me he starts to cast like these really high level spells and one time he killed me in like 10 seconds. I didn't even get a chance to escape. IF you see him run like you would from DVinn or Crush. He is just about as bad as them.

this dude is SOOOOO cheap, he has about a million hitpoints and infinite mana, he can cast while running and hits for way to much, he can take a character 10 lvls above him, GRRRRRRR

I wanted The Dead faction so, as a 18 Ogre SK I went to kick a little gnomish ***.
I died.
So I grabbed a level 17 Warrior to give me a hand
We died.
So we gabbed an additional level 16 warrior, a level 16 shaman, and a level 10 druid.
We pull... he "warps" behind me (no one saw him actually run anywhere) and we start wialing on him and his pet. We actually kill the little ******* (and his pet) and we're all at half health. Then as we turn to regroup he instantly respawns (respawn time of 2 seconds) and aggro's us... from a LONG way away. He instantly nukes one of the warriors down to a single bub of health and I fear him so we can kite him and give the Shaman and Druid a chance to heal us. Once feared he turns and VANISHES! We hunt all over for him and can't find him. Then the fear wears off. He "appears" standing on a wall and begins nuking us... we all flee. Most of us escape with only a bub or two of health left... except the poor Shaman.. he didn't quite make it :(
Don't attack Retlon unless you're twinked out wiht LOTS of magic resist gear.

I've been there man, i was a lvl 18 haflin rogue grouped with a dwarf and barbarian shaman, he was blue to all of us exept the barb who he was green to, we decide to kill him................................................NOPE, we got owned, he has infinite mana, can cast while running, way to many HP's and hits HARD for a freaking gnome mage.....of course then i came back with my 36 necro....heheheheh little motherless gnome...

I once saw him clear the whole zone basicly. 3 druids including myself went to attack him and we pretty much got wacked quick, but I didn't die and barely and I mean barely made to zone. Medded up on otherside while I noticed other people zone after me at full health and mana went back in and he was still killing so I blasted him with full mana bar then he sent his stupid pet and I almost died again. So I camped and then came back later. He is a **** that is for sure.

Yea Retlon is supposed to be a slave of the orcs. There's like a quest in Ak'anon where you have to get a spell book from him or something. If he's a slave to the orcs, why the hell does he want to kill people against the orcs? that ***. He gives gnomish mages a bad name!!

Retlon maybe cons blue or white at 16 but he slaughtered me at lvl 28 ( i am a ranger), that guy is a pig !!

Well that should teach you to attack something as a ranger. They are singularly the most nerfed class in all of norath. Basically Rangers suck.
Well I tried to kill him with my lvl 15 warrior, hes hell of a twink with a magic resis of 55 and he had some buffs from a lvl 52 shaman friend on. All I have to say I dont know what I did wrong but he almost wasted me, his fire pet is hell for a melee class and his spells ripped me apart and as a small sneaky gnome hes hard to hit, as I finally zoned he had lost not even 25% of his health. And he only conned yellow :(

I am a VERY twinked pally (mostly STR buff items, fine plate chest and legs, and a Deathwatch sword) and was running around in CB with a VERY twinked level 10 warrior. My RL husband decided to come down and help us. He is a level 19 druid and very well outfitted. We attacked and killed Retlon AND his pet... and had time to loot them. No sooner had we looted them both than they BOTh spawned again and went nuts on us. My husband died in about 4 steps (hate that root/snare pell the pet has...) and I barely made ti to the zone along with the warrior. So should you happen to kill him, run like hell afterwards, he doesn't have but about 30 seconds until he spawns.

He is a big killer and can kill as much if not more people then DVinn. When they shout Relton is out you better get ready to die.

I was running through CB as an 11-lvl Cleric, when I accidentally fell into his little pit (the dangers of typing while the NumLock key is down). Next thing I knew, he was rooting me, his pet was hitting me, and I think there was an orc down there too. Needless to say, I didn't last long.
When I was running back for my corpse, I saw FOUR copies of Retlon in CB (each with a pet). I'm almost positive he wasn't just running around, because 3 of the 4 were in combat: one by the zone, one by the trainer hill, and two near the castle! His brothers must have been mad at me for falling on Ret's head, because the one that wasn't in combat already agro'd me. Fortunately I was SoWed and was able to zone and wait for all 4 of them to be killed.
So you high level tough guys better be careful, or his big brothers will come and stomp on you.

i was in cb and was sitting when someone shouted retlon to zone i got to him quick and i used up all my mana and he was almost dead then i started waking him and then i called a warrior frind to go finish him when my friwend got to him he zoned retlon was past the zone line and castin away i got out with 14 hp left i called a gm they went and looked and killed him for us

I personally at one time have ran past where the zone line should be while running from dvinn. And followed it around the corner basically to approximately where the cave would kind of open into the clearing in greater faydark, but instead of an opening it was a solid wall. Somehow dvinn only followed me part of the way and did not kill me. I eventually turned around and ran the oppisite way like I would be heading into crushbone and when I hit the normal zone line this time it zoned me out to greater faydark. So beware some time the zone line doesn't always work.

A 15th season Half-Elf Ranger and he conned apprehensive when I first met him. I hailed him and he talked about "a rescuer to save me, find the key." I asked "What key?" and he said "I don't know. a slaver or taskmaster might have it." He had an earth elemental pet at the time. I had been killing orcs centr, legos, and slavers. I went back to hacking stuff and got a #15 key from a drop the next day I was on. Went back and gave him a copper piece to verify the key #, then gave him the key. Got 3 sp and faction adjs.
Sounds like his attitude as well as level is random.

May be a Gnome thing. I play Human and went into Ak'Anon only to con dubious to many inhabitants. After playing longer, I came back later and improved to apprehensive and indiferent. Perhaps Retlon cons with other gnomes.?.

Retlon is like any other slave..., except that he has a pet and is over 3 times the lvl. he is the "start" of the slave keys quest. other than that he is just a normal slave. btw if you get him angry he runs out of the pit. if he could do that why doesn't he just leave CB? and one tip to those of you who are new..., always carry around key 15. if he starts to kill you dont run just take key 15 and give it to him. he will then disappear. hope that helps. :)

I killed this little SOB the other day and he didn't drop anything or any money. I didn't even worry about his pet and it was a tough battle. As I zoned in to CB he was at zone line and was killing alot of low levels who would zone in. He made the mistake of blasting me while I had mana. I burnt him dowm fairly quickly and his pet just poffed.

he takes key number 15, but he will attack you if its in your inventory, you have to have it in your hands when you approach him, like how you have to hold a key when opening a locked door. I died twice from trying to free him before I found this out, maybe thats why he agros some of you

I can do you one better. He was friendly to me while trapped. The next night I went in and was killing two slavers. I had NO keys on me. Out of nowhere, Renton and pet start attacking me also. I barely made it out the zone.

i hate this dirty little shmuck. im lvl 24 (lol, dont even ask why i still hang out in CB. i dont really know the answer) warrior with 825hp, crafted armor and an exe axe and was nearly killed by him. i just hang around in there talking to my guild and derailing trains. during 1 of these trains along runs this fire elemental in a train so i killed it with 1 hit and went up into the tower. i was up in the tower still about 20minutes later, and im killing crush when i look at my health bar. now, crush can barely even hit me and when he does its usually for about 5dmg or something crappy like that, so you can immagine my surprise when i look at my health-o-meter (hehehe) and see tha im just about dead! i saw that damn lil gnome standing in the doorway rooting me getting revenge 4 his pet. i quickly dispensed of him and crush and ran ran off to lick my wounds. retlon= ouchy. dvinn=big OUCHY!

I think the level posted for Retlon is too high. I've had him con yellow to me (lvl 12). I do know that he is MENTALLY UNSTABLE and that he does not deserve to be freed. Although he isn't a tough mob to fight (unless his pet is with him), I've see him go on a rampage and lay waste to lower level chars. Dont try to solo him if he cons yellow, unless u r a caster, r buffed, or r twinked. And if u wanna kill him, free him first so that his pet is outta the way. And beware, INSANE Gnomes are unpredictable at best.

I've taken down slavers and task masters right next to this guy, and he never even looked at me funny. He conned as dubious to me but didn't seem to mind that I was running his masters through.

If youre on a pvp server and a dark elf and think your good faction with crushbone will never go down well this guy will kos you and aggro all orcs onto you even if you were previously dubious to them attack back and there goes your faction (

I swear he is at least a lvl10000000 and can kill anyone by just looking at him! Stay away from this guy unless you are at least lvl 2.

He was low in health and ran behind the zone boundary and started blasting the crap out of anyone who came near. We eventually had to get about five people together and kill him with bows and arrows. dude, i am a 15th season paladin, and i soloed him. he conned blu, and pet low green (earth pet), after he died, about 1 min later (triggered from his death) a higher lvl spawned, it was even and the pet was high green (fire this time) i lost one bubble of health first time, meded up, healed, and lulled him, then took out the pet like a 400 lbs man downs cake. i then turned on him, unsheathed my Bone Bladed Claymore, and sent him back to the realm of the dead ( where he belongs), after all this he cons dubious too me :)
i lost no more than 2 bubbles in second battle, and i didn't heal between pet and Relton eaither, went from one to the other.
you all need to learn how to play, jeez.

This is so obviously not true I don't know why I am bothering to post at all. Pay attention everyone becasue a lvl 15 can't do this so dont try it!
1. At level 15, at BEST Retlon will con yellow. More than likely he will con red. He won't con even until 16-19. Duh.
2. There is NO TIME TO MED after killing Retlon because he is an INSTANT spawn (this has happend 100% of the times I have seen him killed). As soon as you kill him, he comes right back with a vengance. He took my 23 Wiz down to 1 bub of life and oom the last time I killed him. And that was with buffs and HP up to about 550.
3. Since Retlon is an NPC he does ot have mana to conserve, he will chain cast on you like crazy - and at close to 70-80 points each time, there is no way you can survive with only 1 bub of life gone unless you have over 1000hp.
Do not listen to this guy - he is full of it. There is almost no way to solo Retlon (twice, remeber he is instant spawn) and his pet before lvl 20. Even then it is risky at best. Your best bet it to leave Retlon alone because once he kills you -- he will agro everyone in the zone -- instead go kill Darish or Crush. Better loot, better faction, and no pi$$ed of caster killing everything in site.
