a kobold noble  

As a 53 Warrior, he was pretty easy to take out. Con'd light blue. I actually jumped him with less than 60% of my health, he brought me down to just under 30%. He tried casting on me several times but was only able to stick one damage spell for like 100hp's. My MR is about 165 - 170 somewhere in there. After killing the Noble, I proceeded to dispatch his pet. The Noble dropped the Staff of Withering and a FS Great Staff.

I'm a lvl 48 necro , and kill this dude fer a week strait ... and killed him like 12 to 15 time NOOOO problem ... just stick pet in and two dot ASYSTOLE and VoS, id resist all his spell and more (have DMF, Arch shield, and disease Resist on that's all) brings me to like PR 107, MR 45, DR 60, (got no resist gear on).

Well fer some reason after the 4 sep patch, well all this changed ! MAN he CHAIN STUN me and debuffed me with this Insect spell ! Go figure !
And DoTed me too ??? and was STILL looking at a panoramic view (not available from the "F9" command) of SOL B ... i was DOTed and STILL stun ? WTF ?

Now pet was standing there for no reason not bashing or kick or ripping anyone a new ***** as usual, i thought he's MEZZed no biggy ... run for zone but die ... ho well ...

Now zone back and Zabob (the infidele) is standing there by the Noble and just do nothing ! i'm just chock to SEE him ther again ! i zoned cause i died ? so what is he doing there ... i do a pet who the leader and return nothing ??? hummm odd ...

Put new pet out ... buff myself .. (still MR 45 grrr) but there i go ... i get STUN, panoramic view, pet is /em everyone that he's on UI and 'LOADING please wait' ....

Hummm maybe i'm not use to like DIE twice in arrow but my temper is getting a LITTLE ichky ... and my mouse is doing some prayer that i'm not gonna throw it across the room....

But COME ON NOW ..... i'm like AT less 7 lvl higer then him and Didnt resist ANY spell what so ever ???

Ho .. ya ... he resisted Lifetap TWICE as well !
So ... something was VERY funny about that dude and i happen to be the unlucky one ! LOLOLOL

Chain stun!

After getting charmed and beating the crap out of my cleric friend, not to mention a pally and a shammy who just happened to be standing near zone, the pally suggested that instead of fighting these the usual way of "ranger deals damage, cleric heals ranger constantly", the cleric continuously keeps the Noble studded while I whack away at his royal butt.

Worked great, nobody had to be on the wrong end of my Centi and got a staff to boot. Now I look forward to these guys popping.

Use chain stuns folks, it will work and you will live. More importantly, the unlucky guy who just happened to walk by your charmed self will live as well. =)

The noble himself isn't so bad, but apparently his charm is difficult to resist. A few weeks ago I was soloing bats in BnB, all of a sudden a level 60 w/ epic strolls in and nukes me with some ice based spell twice and I die. Apparently he tried to kill noble and got charmed, he went around killing everyone then he died too. Oh well, what a dumb way to die eh?

This PoS charmed me and made me attack our group shamans pet, it then sent me into the lava as the spell wore off. Lava almost killed me and when i got out, the shamans pet was there trying to kill me. We killed the pet and that was that. Dropped the staff.

Very easy room to hold, the charm isnt much of a worry (except when it makes your party attack betwen themselves ;). If you are bored enough, pull bats over the lava (unless another group already there). Careful of trains from bugs as they sometimes run through the room or come back through it.

You can find out before you kill him if he has the staff or the amulet. He will crush you if he has the staff, punch if it's the amulet

This lil runt charmed me, but I never attacked anyone in my party! Charm lasted about 30 seconds. Could this be because I did not have a weapon in my hand? (40 Wiz)

I got charmed while I was dual wielding ykeshas and almost took out everyone in my group.

We also had the noble spawn 4 times in a row and he drios 3 hearts and 1 staff.

The best way to deal with a charmed member of you party is to have your enchanter (if you have one) Enthrall the charmed party member :) Works like a champ!

Wenren lvl 43 enchanter

Approx 1 month ago, the Noble charmed a lvl 35 Warrior in my group .. a warrior with an Exe Axe. Despite me casting Cancel Magic over and over .. I mean like 15 times, she remained charmed for a good minute, and chopped a lvl 35 Pali to death. Don't take this Charm lightly. Have Endure magic and Cancel Magic loaded and USE THEM.

i always thought charmed creatures couldn't be attacked...NOOOOO~ i got smashed by greater kobolds the last time one of these critters charmed me=P
