Palys realy should use Questversion and SKs better join a Raidguild and get any item with better stats, damage/delay, VI added tons of them

Actually if it only took 20 hours for him to pop then stick with this. DONT do teh quest Version. My paladin on povar is currently level 35 and he is uber twinked. Not by higher levels alts but due to literally days in gfay (povar's market zone) buying items low and selling high...anyways i'm getting off track. I decided to do the ghoulbane quest just so i could have one. The amstaff scrol was really easy i've had that forever due to lvling in high keep. I camped the Crazed ghouls in BB for FIFTEEN...YES 15 hours before the stupid blade of nobility dropped. Now i'm in unrest and i've been killing Crazed ghouls on and off for 4 days for the ghoul heart. Still no luck. Once i was grouped with someone and was killing a ghoul and went ld, when i came back the guy said it popped while i was LD. Other than that i still havent gotten it. So to make a long story short.
If takes you 1 entire day camping this guy just to get the sword its still alot easier than the quest. The quest isn't hard and a lvl 35 can easily solo everything...its just uber time consuming

His PH pops every 17 minutes (+/- a minute). He will pop between the 2 tables, right near the torch.

i'm not sure this sucker spawns any more. i camped him with a group three weeks in a row on saturday. twice before the patch and once after.
the two times before the patch we would average seeing him about once every 40 minutes. room is on roughly 12 minute spawn. he would come maybe every 4th.
3rd time was after patch and we camped for 4 hours without once getting a lord spawn.
i imagine this will be fixed but believe as of right now, if you want the ghoulbane you might just save your pp.
i will also say this. if they make the spawn more rare i hope they make the drop more common. on those two saturdays combined we prolly killed this guy close to 10 times - never seen the sword.

killed him 3 times tonight in fact...cept the only thing he dropped were the Silver Plated Gauntlets each time

Save your plat? The Ghoulbane was made No Drop quite a while ago. I ended up questing it for my SK epic. <shudder> A Troll SK questing for a Ghoulbane - that just ain't right.

Last night I camped the Ghoulbane for a couple hours. After 8 cycles or so, I never saw a Shin Lord, only Shin Knights. Does the Shin Lord even spawn anymore? If the Ghoulbane is a rare drop off what seems to be a rare spawn, I might look at the quest version.
Has any SK completed the Ghoulbane quest? If so, please post.

i'm not sure if you could solo him at 31, i think it might be a bit tough. to recount my experiences with him, i first encountered him as a lvl 33 Ogre SK. the first time i ran in invis'd and was looking for the room he spawned in. well, right as i rounded the corner i was greeted by "frroooaaaakkk...froak, froak...". so I guess he can see invis. i got jumped by him and his 2 buddies (all conned blue to me) and well, needless to say, NOW LOADING...
i did notice he was holding a sword so i thought it might be Ghoulbane. determined to get it for my epic, i went down again - this time ready for combat since i knew he could see invis. i went in ready to die, but ready to take him with me and loot him before his buddies killed me. well, that didn't happen...because I didn't know he was a pally and had LoH. :) right after i engaged him i HT'd him to try and lower him enough to run. well, i got him low and to my surprise, the LoH kicked in. NOW LOADING...
3rd time i decided to save the HT until he was low so i could kill him outright before he had a chance to LoH. Froak, frooooaaakkk. NOW LOADING...
4th time...yes, i was determined to get that sword (didn't realize he could have been holding a rusty) i happened upon my lvl 51 shammy friend in innothule on my 3rd CR. got uber-buffs and stormed in to rightfully claim my sword. i got him to run but the shammys in the room nextdoor healed him up. let me just say that FD at 1 bub of life & half a bub of mana is some good =).
i don't consider myself twinked, so that might make a difference. i think i went in with a Sporali & Crusty shield, Netherbian BP, a few pieces of Darkforge, etc. anyhow, i will say that he'll be much easier if you can manage to clear the area first. but i think that'd be a bit rough soloing at 31.
long story short? a few friends from the Fire Knights came down & gave him some payback and let me loot him. :)

Ok, i have a question. Could a lvl 31 Pally with a Wurmy that hits for 40 almost every time and a couple times the 75 solo this guy? Becuase i REALLY want this sword instead of doing the quest. Plz reply A..A.P.

I just got to this camp yesterday, cleared the room... the whole damn area. I sat for a little over an hour, clearing respawns, but the shin lord never showed up...

The Shin Knight is the most common placeholder for the Shin Lord. I've killed him approximately 6 times with different chars hoping to get the blade for my epic progress but have never seen it drop.

Ok I am a lvl 46 sk wanting to slowly get started on my epic so I don't end up getting mine at lvl 59. I have a few questions that I would like answered. 1) Ok this guy is 30 right? 2) What does he hit for? 3) What are my chances? I mean I know that I could get one the first time I walk in, or I could kill him 50 times and not get it, but what is the average? 1/5, 1/10, 1/25?

as a 51 SK i cleared his room twice then he pops and i HT him for 731 damage he already starts running. lol he never even had a chance to lay on hands. dropped the Ghoulbane on his first pop. and a hint is always kill the shamans first in his room and then any other frogs in the next room so they dont agro and then wait a minute to kill the PH so they dont all pop at the same time

I hate this punk. I am trying to get the damn sword for my epic. Whenever i am in the neighborhood of Innothule i drop in. Pet and i clear the area and wait for lord to pop. 4th kill last night and no sword. Got 4 bracers and 2 rusty swords so far.
BTW, he is not hard if you can deal with the inevitable LOH and can break the spawn. First time i did this was in low 40s. Now i just do the whole room at once, but he can be a pest, especially if there is a shaman from the next room healing him.

When I was doing this horrible camp as a 47th SK I easily kept this room clear and was able to go clear the jail area to try and get the warden to pop in between room spawns.. Used the vehemnt sword of revinje(sp) The rune shield made all but the Shin lord trivial fights. Sword never seemed to proc against him when I needed it LOL.

Glad to see somebody saying the Ghoulbane does still drop. I have about 20 kills with no ghoulbane. Glad I bought one and stuck it in the bank a while back. Has the change already gone in to make it nodrop? As if the start of the SK epic wasn't hard enough now they make it even harder.

Way to be productive d00d - yes, it was officially made no-drop as of the last patch. Why they did so is beyond me though - I can only assume that they either had a problem with folks farming the drop or the quest for it, or they simply descided that SKs didn't have it hard enough yet (if you actually read what we have to go through for our epic, it's easily one of if not the hardest epic to complete out there).

the ghoulbane is becoming a no drop item, which means no more farming it! now only pally's can get any use out of their first holy sword, so no more twinking your low lvl pallies with this sword!

he doesn't drop the ghoulbane any more. they changed it due to all the high level farmers who woul get them got thier little paladins and all thier buddies as well.

I doubt it, since especially if they took the Ghoulbane drop away from this mob they would totally ***** up there Epic weapon quest for the Shadowknight.
It would be more accurate to say that the ghoulbane is a rare drop, after all anything like this is not meant to be easy to get by a short camp.

Hate to beat you down for telling lies but it still drops and i got one just last night for my own paladin. He spawned twice in around 1 1/2 hours of camping him and he had it the second time.

Best way to find the spawn spot is to get a map from www.EQAtlas.com. I went to LGuk first time to check it out and try to get a Ghoulbane for my epic quest (I am a lvl 41 SK) I made it to his room using Gather Shadows with no problem, There were 3 mobs in the room including a shaman. Affter killing 2 of them i had to use FD as another mob decided to join in the fight and I was at 2 bubs (didn't want to risk it!). Then I used hide, get up, bandage and kill the remaining mob, and so the room spawn was broke. You can stay in the corner and fight without aggroing the rest ot the mobs. A few hours later, one lord spawned, but no Ghoulbane. So the room is soloable at 41 if you're an SK and have descent gear (not twinked but have done the DarkForge quests). If you need assistance send Ueuelr a tell, i'll be there until i get the Ghoulbane. Oh and the place is not farmed anymore (on Tunare at least!)

It's experience that matters, not your current level. I have played every class, every race, till at least level 10. My highest is 21 on Vallon, I've owned the game since July 2000.

That is horrible! the classes arent even truly defined until about level 30! I mean a SK,PAL,WAR,Ranger...mages,wizzys,necros all below level 10 are like the same thing lol

You guys do know that the Ghoulbane is a quest now, right? It's easily doable with a 25+ character, and can be done in 2 hours, with teleports. Most it should take anyone is 8...
