There was a time many years ago when you could give items to mobs and they would carry the item until someone killed them and looted it. High levels who were feeling generous would sometimes run around salting the newbie zones with items they no longer needed but that would be an upgrade for the newer players by handing them off to whatever mobs populated the area. The ability to give random items to mobs was removed in a patch a long time ago so anyone who found anything of any value on the elven priest or on any other low level mob anywhere in the game other than what it normally drops was the beneficiary of a passing high level player giving the item to the mob they killed to get it. It was not a part of the normal loot table. You will not find the Screaming Mace, the Dwarven Ringmail Tunic, the Shiny Brass Shield, or anything else that doesn't belong on his corpse if you kill him anymore as there is no longer any way for it to be placed there. You will only find those items on the mobs that normally drop them now. So the people who posted they found these things on him may not have been lying, but the game mechanic that allowed those items to be found there no longer works. Items that a mob doesn't need will either be returned or be destroyed. It will not be retained by the mob so it can be looted later. Just trying to clear up some confusion because I know there will be players on the progression servers who will be camping the priest for the Dwarven tunic because he is an easier kill than Emperor Crush after reading the comments here. Don't waste your time. He doesn't have it.
