These fellows are very hunted for their sash, which every melee type would like. They hit very hard and very fast (especially when they're wearing the sash) and are a rather tough room to break. Undead.

Reasons casters loot this
# May 14 2001 at 9:48 PM Rating: Decent
I am not flaming but stating.
Obviously, you did not even touch this camp.
If you did, you'd know why casters were allowed to loot.
This rule was implemented due to its increible rareness.
1.There is a list of order who loots fbss,
first come first serve.
2.You can loot it regardless of class
3.The time it takes to camp, and NOT get an fbss is not worth it for casters to bother
4.There are people who BUY their fbsses and where in the world do you think they buy it from?
5.Some have ALTERNATE CHARACTERS, as in raiding chars in guilds? or twinking perhaps? (Not best reason but it is one)
6.Any one who even sits in this camp deserves the fbss, due to the horrendous waiting on lists to even GET IN the group, not to mention the 10+ hours of waiting for the fbss to even spawn.
7.This fbss is,shall, always and will stay, lootable by all classes.

If you didn't touch the camp at all, don't talk crap, because honestly, the casters deserve the fbss more than i do. I didn't survive this camp with 6 tanks, no, it always had 3 basics, Enchanter-a MUST for the many pulls down there,Cleric-preferable over any healer for they can cheal and rez which is essential to return party memembers to the camp, and Tanks-I am a tank, damage on tanks is not THAT important, you must keep the mobs off your party so they can deal the actuall damage, all other spots can be filled with different classes-Nukers and spell stunning classes are nice too. Plus, i came here wielding my purchased Wurmslayer (from a caster druid i might add) and with the enchanters haste, i was outdamaging everyone, cept for the wizard but only for a few fights. Oh yeah to add, if you got 100 sta or more, theres no stamina penalty(no negative stats like str and stuff), you just can't jump and thats only useful in running, which you can't do down in that camp.

Long post but after this camp which i just finished this Saturday, i'm sick of the stupid tells i received and the spams like this.

Only time i believe the loots should be class specific, is on RAIDS, and spells(alts do not count for those people)

#Anonymous, Posted: May 14 2001 at 7:06 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Okay, sorry for posting my HONEST opinions but what is this nonsense about Chanters, Clerics and all other CASTER classes looting the sashes? There is no point for that other then greed. I believe unless ALL the tanks in your current group have FBSS's that only the tanks roll for it. Seriously, other then money concerns, there is no reason for a Chanter or caster to loot an FBSS and if there is a warrior (or tank) in the group that could BENEFIT from the FBSS, don't you think it should be awarded to the tank or at least rolled upon by the other tanks? Sure, wouldn't we all like to have an item that would sell for 9k but this is an item that TANKS NEED. It seems so pointless for a caster to loot this it is rediculous. Feel free to flame me, this is only my opinion.
RE: Who loots the sash
# May 23 2001 at 10:58 PM Rating: Decent
1: You will not take this camp without a caster like an enchanter.

2: An Enchater-Cleric is needed more for this camp then you are.. Get it.. Learn this now before you get to Seb... Melee are a dime a dozen. When the Cleric-Enchanter leave, the camp ends then and there if you can't find a replacment. Since these classes will be snatched up for every camp the instant they zone in, replacements are not often available.

3: This is one long, high risk camp.

4: There is no reason for strangers to risk their hides for hours on end for your loot.. They get to role..

5: Need before Greed is really Greed before Greed. Your just looking for a way to cheat another player out of hard work for your own phat loot. Most people who get defaulted stuff in need before greed still end up saleing the items... Yes, you see Monks and Warriors selling FBSS's all the time.. I've even seen Wars selling Cobalt.. Those items can do just as much for another player because of what they can trade it for. Most people realize it now, need before greed is a scam in pickup groups... It only works among trusted friends.

6: Get over yourself.

1. learn how to spell and proper grammer, if not repeat 3rd grade as needed.

2. im a warrior, i dont need clerics or Enchanters to bail my *** out. and good warriors are not a dime a dozen....get it...Echanters and clerics are as normal and easy to get as the next guy

3. random spawn, not long, not short, random. and not high risk for the good, strong groups that dont have mouthy and loud mouth braggers.

4. if i won the roll, i guess they did risk their lives for hours on end for my loot.

5. i dont need anything, its a game....you want it you work for it.

6. you sound like a little girl.

Sleep? Whats that?
# May 12 2001 at 10:10 PM Rating: Default
Okay, if you plan on getting this item by camping.
Pitch a tent, not in the game, but in RL
you're not going to get sleep anytime soon (unless you share shifts with a friend but alot of people get angry at that). 20 hour camp for me.
According to some people, thats pretty good, but lemme tell you, i've had more fun running in circles opening the jail doors in Frenzy room.
being up 48 hours and only spending 20 hours in frenzy tends to alter your thinking.
Good pull, went from 1 blue into 45 to 2 blue form levelling, great exp here with constant pulls from all over, Lord, Sentinel and all.
Had 10 Frenzies outta 20 hours. only 4 or 5 that had fbss

Saved myself 9k or something, but i lost alot of sleep and thinking. I've heard of people Camping for over 40 hours and never seeing it once.
One of the most frustrating camps close to a town.

Yah you'd get in
High levels that can take on alot more than the normal level people are always welcomed.
(Although some of the newer people to the game may shun you for coming to camp this item then again you don't meet many high level new players)
Honestly, i would love to have a level 60 in the camp. It saves me 10 minutes of swinging my damn Wurmslayer.

I was just in a group at frenzy, camped it for 22 hours straight. When i first got there someone had just gotten a fbss off of froggie.... then ELEVEN frenzies and 22hours later, still nothing but frigin moodrings.

Heh, the good thing is that when i got there I had less than one blue bub into 45, and when I camped I was 46. TONS of xp if you have a good puller.

Haste %
# Apr 09 2001 at 11:34 PM Rating: Decent
(Cross post from FBSS Item - http://eqdb.allakhazam.com/item.html?item=899)

Haste % on the FBSS varies by level according to the level of the wearer, starting at 20.

It's technically 101% + ( 0.5% x level ) .

So at 20, when the haste kicks in, it's actually something like 11%. By the time you're 40, it'll be doing 21% or thereabouts.

Hope that clears things up... And have fun with 'em. =)

Hehe, today I joined up a frenzy group that was getting started. Was at the frenzy camp for about 5 hours. Well let me just say that in that time 5 frenzy spawned and 4 (yes 4!) of them had a FBSS. I ended up winning one of them as an enchanter (the group stayed together during most of the time except for clerics that went and gone). A warrior guildie also got one. It got so crazy after a while that the cleric in the group would have received the FBSS by default because everyone else already had one. Oh yeah also got 4 sentinel spawn during that tiome but who really cares about that:)

Some things to know about the Frenzied Ghoul. He not only hits extremely hard but incredibly quick too. I've had him on me at least once every fight after I tash and he can kill me in less then 10 seconds even after full cleric buffs. Let's just say that slowing his attack is almost a necessity. It was a bit funny, the group used the rate of how fast my HP drops to determine if the frenzied had a sash or not.

There is no way this group could even break the spawn. If you get lucky and the wanderer has left, that still leaves you with 2 BT Ghouls and Frenzy. If Frenzy has the FBSS - the 37 war will be dead in less than 30 seconds. You need at least 2 tanks to share the beating and cleric practically chain healing. ANd thats just Frenzy. You toss in a couple of BTs and the entire group will be dead in less than a minute. No way a druid can keep up with the heals in this room.

It is possible to break the spawn without a chanter, but I would highly recommend having one to mezz the BTs while you take Frenzy. I would also recommend chain stunning Frenzy and nuking the crap out of him. As hard and fast as Frenzy hits, I don't think you can melee him down without some high level help with a ton of buffs.

We did Frenzy last night (dropped FBSS 3rd spawn) I was able to nuke him for 320 a pop 8 times in a fight - WITHOUT AGRO! Thats 2560 DD without pulling him off the tanks. I would guess he has somewhere around 10k hp.

The Frenzy is not lvl 46, hes not even lvl 44. I just camped the Frenzy from lvl 44 to lvl 46.....straight. Was in the room for 39 hours...he was blue to me when I got there, and blue when I left. No, I'm not crazy, my roomate and I switched out when we got tired of playing. The Frenzy spawned a totaly of 8 times, droping the FBSS, twice....in 39 hous. I rolled a 3, and an 8. *cries* Exp wise, the room is great, I pretty much got a lvl every 20 hours... considering that I went thu 45 there... its pretty damn good. =) BTW... its 21% haste.

My guild took and broke the camp at 6am est and killed like 15 frenzies spaning a time till 4am est the next day, and none had any fbss's all had rings. Going into the 23 hour my friend and I were the only ones left, and 2 spawned at the same time. We killed them both, no fbss. Then 15 minutes later 2 spawned again with in 10 minutes of each other and both had the fbss. WOO HOO. We camped the spot for 24 freaking hours to get it, but ended up getting 2. It was long and boring, but it was well worth it! :)

Wow that is really cool how you managed to get verant to change the spawn time on the room from 26 min to 15 min for you!

It's also pretty sweet how you each managed to solo a frenzy (considering there were two of you left and two spawned at the same time).

Yesterday I wiped out the plane of fear by myself and soloed Cazic Thule!!

Why do people need to lie on public boards? Do you honestly think anyone cares that you got a FBSS? I mean heck, you are anon so nobody even knows who you are.
RE: 24 hour FBSS camp
# Mar 31 2001 at 1:47 PM Rating: Decent
I camped it myself with a great group for a good 6-7 hours and after 3 room spawns(of 3 ghouls) on the 4th room, 2 of 3 were frenzys, the first had the ring and we were all dissapointed but when our pull called inc a frenzied ghoul for the 2nd time we couldn't believe it. And we knew it had the FBSS b4 we killed, man it attacks fast and max dmg for 120 or so. Was an awesome fight but I rolled a 9. Looks like I'm going back there.

PS if your ever on Saryrn and your camping the Frenzy and a Druid named Paipai appears, petition a GM right away, she has an extensive history of KS'ing and when that doesn't work she will train the whole zone on you to kill you, she did it twice beofore and tried it on my group but we all invis'd. Just a little heads up, she farms them and sells the FBSS on E-Bay
Enchanters and Frenzy

As an enchanter I tend to concentrate on the following buffs:

1. Clarity (number 1 buff) on *all* casters including hybrids.
2. Boon on the tank (rogues and monks getting preference).
3. Speed on the tanks.

If I get below 60% then the only buff I maintain is clarity because it's important and Boon because I have to. At 80%+ mana I add in:

1. Brilliance on self and int casters.
2. Insight on wis casters.
(I always check if they already have 200 wis/int.)
3. RM on the puller.
4. GOM on all casters.

The only mobs I bother slowing are frenzieds simply because shiftless deeds costs around 180 mana and I have more important things to do with my mana. (Mezz is the #1 priority).

And if mana gets too low then I simply stop buffing (except clarity), warn the group, and sit on my **** while they pull a few singles.

Oh, one PS.

1) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE always root/stun/taunt mobs *before* breaking Mezz.
2) If there are LOTS (5+) froggys in a pull - kill the EASY ones first - so the poor over-worked enchanter has fewer mobs to keep mezzed. This makes a BIG difference.
3) Stick to your first target and never EVER rush to "help" the enchanter - UNLESS THEY ASK FOR HELP. (Notes: yes you can stun/root/taunt/snare the mob. That *does* help, whacking the mob the enchanter just finally managed to mezz doesn't. Honest.)
4) Don't use aoe damage spells. Yeah I know the argument about using them and there are great tactics blah blah blah but they are ALL ********* The only time aoe spells work really well is OUTSIDE, because of the Z-axis issues.

it is with great intrest that i read your words. in fact many ring true. i have grouped with the same chanter for 42 lvls now and can agree about aoe spells. However you should point out that this is good for you the chanter
because the mezz dosent get broken. Its a toss up really in my book and aoe works just as good indoors even better than outside most times.and as for helping the chanter i will always pull a mob off the chanter when they are interupted to a point of being usless otherwise. they can then mez the mob in peace.

During a 6 hour camp we saw this guy 4 times. He had the FBSS twice. Most of the time we got the Bloodthirsty Ghoul, which hits just as hard: 120's. Either one of the two conned blue to me, always (I waslevel 45). Very many HPs on both of these pukes.

BTW. What does the percentage of haste the FBSS gives? Is it better than the Mithril 2 Hander? What about that cloak in Kunark? How do you tell what has how much haste?

Thanks for any input!

# Mar 30 2001 at 4:38 PM Rating: Decent
You were very lucky to see it twice in a 6 hour period. I've camped it for 8 hours and got the ring every time. I have heard that the belt is around 17% haste.

Considering that the belt has no AC, I wouldn't use it if I was the primary tank. As secondary tank, it would be nice to have the added damage though.

These things have such a high trade value(8kish), it is quite often possible to trade it for a nice upgrade to your weapon that would give the same dam/del ratio as your old weapon with the FBSS. And then you can still wear a belt with some AC.
For example, I traded my FBSS for a MOSS (19/29), which is actually better than using the FBSS with the dark reaver that I had. (this is when moss's were worth way more than they are now).

Normally List holders will not allow anyone under 40 to join the camp. 40 is the MINIMUM required level, I've seen 39 warriors, paladins get destroyed trying to tank the Frenzy or BT. Will be a bit tough for you, but with at least one cleric and another backup healer you should be ok. Know that this is what I have seen, if someone else reads this port, you may be able to get into the room under 40, just be aware of the risks you'll be taking.

um, these things are np for a group of about 4-5 mid thirties. Dunno why noone would let below 40 in group, but not very hard to get in group at lvl 31 as even a chanter with half mez failures, very minor crowd control until the group gets bored and pulls from outside room for more exp..

You have the mobs confused. The froggies on the upper level of lguk are low to mid 30ish. Like say, in the ***/sup room. Once you drop down to the lower level (frenzy, magi, lord), they are lvl 40+ and it is nearly impossible to pull just one.

4. The spawn is THIRTY minutes, the same as ALL of Lower Guk.
5. It's 30 minutes, trust me on this one.

Experience in this camp is great if you pull the Ghoul sentry(sp?) room. But it's only doable if you have an enchanter. I went from 42 to 43 in this camp in about 12 hours, it's just waiting to be picked off the list that's the hard part.

I camped this thing for the first time, and i was counting how often the sash would drop off the ghoul, on average he dropped the sash every 6 hours, I hope this helps! BTW it works great with a wurmslayer.

Well I seem to have been lucky then. Two evenings (3 or so hours each time), four sashes, two dropped one right after the other (within 2 minutes) and I won one !

Happened to my party too. Took about 6 hours on a spawn and of course had a moonstone. This is a room to camp if you are capable of pulling everything up to the archmagi for exp. If you cannot handle that, you are wasting your time. We got shining metallic robes and no sash. Go figure.

Guess you will have to be a real player and kill the hangman in trakanon, or nagafen. Hangman is lvl 50 uncommon spawn in trakanons teeth but from what I heard drops the noose every time.
