a frenzied ghoul

These fellows are very hunted for their sash, which every melee type would like. They hit very hard and very fast (especially when they're wearing the sash) and are a rather tough room to break. Undead.

Respawn timer on PHs for this guy is 23 minutes. I took him with level 45 shadowknight and druid using only classic everquest gear on test server. The fight wasn't easy, but I was a good ways off from dying. He didn't drop the sash. Will update information as I receive it.

Takes forever(45 minutes to an hour to spawn) and then you got 1% drop rate for fbss.

On top of that everyone is going to roll.No wonder the price is so bloated.Couldn't dbg increase the drop rate to lower the bloated price to make it more accessible? even if its to 25%?

Yeah i'm salty about the drop rate.Smiley: mad

EVERYONE that feels the need to post how they have no problem single pulling a mob that is 20 levels below them and wants to brag they could then solo it is lame. If your going to post info stop bragging please post useful content. Such as how many hps/ class of the mob/ how to pull mob when he is in the same level range as you ( 5 levels differance tops) these things help. Even /loc is better than duh well my 70th took him solo easy... retarded.. anyway i will not clutter any more message boards.. even though everytime i look a mob up it has nothing but these type of posts.

I remembered this guy being more difficult to kill, but it's been a few years since I played.
I just started again and decided to go down here and kill him for old times (only seen him drop the sash once). My cleric is Lv 70 w/ 381 AAs and first of all, frenzy is the only one in the room who doesn't see through undead invis.
He was a joke. I basically walked up to him, rooted him and nuked him 3 times (~1400 pt nukes) and he was dead. Just dropped moonstone ring though, so maybe I'll try him a couple more times and see what happens.

Why do people keep asking if they can or can not do it at certain levels, come here & try or ask in /ooc or /general chats. Come on guys... 4 pages filled with all types of classes/levels with same question. I'm trying to see any info for epic drops & it's very hard to find any with these silly questions filled through pages.

56 beasty here telling you what to do to clear this room. This room is EASILY done by most classes and can be single pulled with ease. all you have to do to single pull is pull with a NON damage spell and dont attack it in aggro range of the other mobs and haha you single pulled them. Only thing that might add is 1 or 2 wanderers that walk in and out of them room. But yeah easily soloable by and soloing class. Im camping him right now, have been off and on for like a week *mostly off* lol. hasnt popped yet but actually exp moves once about every 3DBs, if you can find any.

And oh yeah.....Don't bother getting KEI. Go through the room and sit, you have 27mins between spawns, like all other Guk camps. Just wish it was maybe 10minutes-15minutes faster, then it wouldnt be such a drag and i wouldnt have to come back to this damn board lol.

Fabled Frenzied
# Mar 16 2004 at 11:35 PM Rating: Default
The Fabled Frenzied Ghoul doubles for 300-1k+ damage, flurries, enrages, and is partially slowable. Easily farmed by a 65 (Time-equipped) monk, 63 beastlord, 63 cleric, and 55 cleric. Possibly duoable, but 3-4+ people recommended.

Edit: It was spawning back to back or every other spawn (27 minutes between), but there was a nice chunk of time in there where it didn't spawn for...six hours? Something like that. So there's potentially a long wait...

Some say this room has been "tough to break"... I have no idea what's going on with this but whenever I was solo'ing these, I never seemed to get adds. 55 bst, so these are Dble and Lblue to me.... I expected to be bombarded really. I pulled using Slow, and every time only the one I cast on came. Hmm.
Oh and to the 55 bst wondering if this could be solo'd: yes. Very yes. Just make sure you clear out the passage to the frenzied room due to the fact that we can't snare or root, so when they are running away you might get alot of annoying adds if the earlier rooms aren't cleared. Doing that, everything went smoothly with KEI. Had to run around and kill everything else to pass the time...

Camped this frog today, with a 44 ranger.

Spawn time / spawn cycle, is roughly 30 minutes.

3 Frogs in the room, any can spawn Frenzy.

We had a couple of cycles with no luck, then Frenzy popped once.

The following cycle, Frenzy popped twice, yes, twice.

First dropped the Moonstone Ring, so did the second, the third dropped the sash.

The camp continues, and the current cycle no frenzy frog.

Anyone try lull?

I've never been to this zone, but plan to go there soon to get FBSS. Harmony won't work indoors, but has anyone tried lull to single pull this room?
RE: Anyone try lull?
# Nov 12 2003 at 3:49 PM Rating: Decent
Lull works...at least for me, 52 bard here... I can own this camp no prob, just buy a 10 dose of unlife awarness potion at bazaar, go to the room, click off invis and lull everything but the one i'm gonna kill. then when 3 remains, i charm the Bloodthirsthy or the Frenzy and send it kill the remaining helping it with DoT song. when the formelly knowed as "pet" decide he dosent like me anymore, he usualy is at 50% health. I beat him up, rinse and repeat after pop.

Druids (and most classes for that matter) can own this camp
# Aug 29 2003 at 9:46 AM Rating: Good
It's a simple matter of knowing the aggro. While you have to be a certain level to really be able to whollop on this camp, it can be done by most magic casting classes at 45. Since druids are what I know I'll post up the druid strategy.

From my experience, engaging the left spawn by rooting them will not aggro the others, although they are practically right on top of him, so all you have to do is slowly kill them from left to right. This works flawlessly if you have no wanderers into the room and the roots hold, because if they break the whole room is aggroing. The best way to break this camp works like this: Position yourself right in front of the door of the left cell. It's ok, he won't aggro yet. Then begin by rooting the left one, and snare right away. This may save your life later because you'll only have 2 guys beating on you while you try to gate instead of 3. So once he is rooted and snared sufficient set all the dots you have on him. It is very important that if you have the mana and you are able to that you root after every set of dots wear off, because this will ensure that he does not break the root early. You should only have to go through 3 or 4 sets of dots before this guy is knocked out. That will way heavily on your mana if you're not post 50. Root and snare the next guy without even moving from your current position. Repeat slowly what you did to the first guy and you should have all 3 spawns broken up by a few minutes, if you have to med in between it is probably a good idea because it will help break up the spawns more. If you kill the first or the second mob and they are a frenzy and you believe that they might have the sash, wait until you have rooted and snared the current mob before trying to loot. It is best to step by step move up until you're within looting range so as to remove the chance of getting whacked while you loot. So you've rinsed, repeated, and now you've got an easily managable Frenzy camp.

I was lucky when I did this strategy, because me and a paladin friend of level 46 (I was about 52 or 53 at the time) had camped out right at the frenzies and upon our return, the camp was open and 2 frenzy's were up with 1 bloodthirsty on the right side. By following this strategy we actually got TWO FBSS's to drop (which I couldn't believe). It worked basically the same way but instead, when I engaged the second frenzy (the one in the middle), my paladin friend took out the bloodthirsty for me.

Most other class strategies work the same way, I've seen clerics do it the same way since they have an undead only DoT I believe. Necros of course can do this same thing with their undead only root and their variety of dots. Mages I think would be the only ones that might have a bit more trouble doing this.

Well, have fun trying it out, maybe you'll get an FBSS or two to drop from doing it. Happy hunting. =)

Here is how For a necro
# Aug 01 2003 at 12:33 PM Rating: Decent
I have been using this method is L guk for all the camps. I am a level 51 necro on kAYNE BALE.
Load these spells:
(Excuse my spelling lol im at work Dont have the exact spelling in front of me.)
1)Envoment bolt (splurt is useless here)
2)Astoyle
3)Darkness
4)Bond of death (Dont Use litch here just get kei)
5)Charm Pet spell ( Make sure char is up a lil around 104 is good) This is the key spell Make a undead pet with a undead froggy)Your reg pet will will be in the way and with this spell you take 1 mob out of the camp.
6) screeming terror Great mez spell for necros
7)Feign death you will use this alot
8) undead dd
Always have dmf on and use improved invis vs undead between camps.
You will need alot of patience with each camp the hand is the easiest.
With the Lord Make him your pet and have him beat the crap out of the guards dot the guards hard and then fd dont (stay down to long or you will lose your pet)Get up and re fd. He will take out 1 with ease with the other guard root him or mezz him by that time the charm usually wears off the lord root him and dot make sure both are dotted create a reg skelly pet and send to the pet to the lord and keep the guard mezzed once the lord is dead be ready for the guard its very easy at this point. Loot and xp is good.
Going for the hand IS super easy Go up with invis vs undead and the hand is usually set back a little charm the undead knight and have him go after mr hand dot the hand and fd. After the hand is dead wait for the charm to wear off and dot root the undead knight. Pretty easy. Use the same method going for arch magi. Wit hthe frenzied im still working a better plan I will post that soon.
Gl and happy hunting.

You guys must have been leveling in overethere and such and posses no skill. The above group is perfectly capable of taking Frenzy or pretty much any camp in guk if they have at least 2 brain cells and a bit of dungeon experience.

That is a flaming no.

And here's why not...

All right, I'm presently doing this camp with a 52 SK and a botted 52 cleric. I've yet to see Frenzied pop after about 3 cycles now, but if Bloodthirsty Ghouls are any indication, this guy is going to be a pain in the ***.

First of all, Bloodthirsty seems to have some nasty melee avoidance -- even with full AC debuffage (Heart Flutter and Shroud of Pain), I still only seem to hit him with my 2-Tined Corpse Pitchfork about 3 in 5 times. This is, of course, with close to 990 ATK. So, bearing that in mind, here's what would happen to your group...

You want to FD pull with the SK? ***** that. Have the cleric Pacify. But you won't last long. Frenzied and Bloodthirsty both hit friggin' HARD -- with ATK debuffed and Abduction of Strength, I still see the occasional max in the 120s from Bloodthirsty. Compound healing that across two tanks with no real DPS... Your cleric will be oom within 45 seconds.

If you REALLY want to try it, wait until level 44ish at the least. The SK's level 39 nuke will be a nice addition, plus he can single-pull with his numeric hate spell. In the meantime, your warrior can make a nice latté. Also, having a 44+ cleric makes things nice not just for the significant increase in mana pool... Retribution (516 DD nuke) and Banish Undead (585 undead-only DD) will shorten the fight significantly in lieu of just finding a wizard.

Hope someone finds this helpful... I gotta get back to my Frenzied camp. Hehe.

Yep, he's definately a warrior. Dont have to worry about much, besides getting knocked on your ***. Has around 2-3k HP if I had to guess, and hits around 130. Easy melee solo for a 60 SK at the time.

Yesterday I was in lguk, looking for a smr, when I got invited into a frenzy group. Within the first 10 min, he popped and dropped the fbss, and I won on a 200 out of 300! Anyway, today I was selling in bazaar, when I got a tell asking to trade for a skull shaped barbute, a something -scale bracer, and some sorta tribal mask, it was goin for 3k in bazaar (anyone know what it was, me and my 5 min memory lol). After reading all these stories, wondering if I maybe shoulda kept it...

A full group of untwinked (new server and all) folks did this room for 12 hours tonight. Our group consisted of two clerics, a warrior, a rogue, a enchanter, and a shadow knight. We had a few deaths but they were due to stupid **** like folks going afk or such. Anyway, frenzy poped 5 times but only dropped the sash once. Overall it was very good xp...we did everything between frenzy and AM.
