I was mucking about with my lvl 60 Ranger when it jumped me from out of nowhere.
As far as its abilities go i would rate it as tougher than a sand giant but not by much..it was fun to kill and now ive been here im glad i didnt take the few plat the vendor offered me for the silks

Those silks are VERY useful to Erudites who wish to tailor themselves some Steelsilk armour (eru only) and I for one would pay well for a few peices.

I just saw him, and tried to kite him, lvl 32 bard :P . I had a bit of trouble, and a necro ended up getting him. I did get posioned twice and it was weak posion both times (about 5 per tic) so the posion is not as bad as stated below.

I got him today, after running from wizzy portal, he has alot of Hp, me i have 1643 hp unbuffed as i was and at 1001 ac he was hitting for about 80 when he did, yoused Mend and was at 80% hp when he died. I looted 4 silks or 3? and the Heart. Heart is 20 Wg. and is Giants size... Would be nice to know what the hearth is for and selling the silks for 300pp each on Brell.

45 mage, fire pet, killed him using about 40% of my mana, pet was about 40% health, no resists, no problem, 5 silks and leg. I did get hit with poison, didnt seem to last to long, did about 160ish damage.

Nay...the Queen does not spawn in Misty, but outside Qeynos in the newbie area...kill all the Klaknak whatevers you see...and she will show up soon enough...

I have done the bug quest in misty thicket about 7 or 8 times now. The leg that is needed is called a giant fire beetle leg. It only drops off of that Queen Klaknak beetle. The queen is a rare spawn in misty, so go just to the left of the wall in qeynos, she spawns there a lot. Just wanted to clear it up that whatever leg this Huge spider in ro drops IS NOT for the bug collector quest in misty.
you dont need to kill the queen for the leg. the fire beetle leg drops commonly in WK and NK.

fought a critter in WK that looked exactly like a giant firebeetle but it was called "a giant beetle" and dropped a "Giant Firebeetle Leg". FYI.

Ok, Im a level 34 necromancer on the Bertoxx server, and i was wandering around Sro killing everything i could see (mostly spiders) when this monster spawns on top of me by the southern derv camp. I got my pet on it, and cast dooming darkness then invoke fear (both stuck first shot). When i conned it it was red, but Ive killed red Sg's so no sweat...cept this thing has a buttload of hp. 2 dooming darknesses, 1 boil blood, 3 venom of the snakes, 2 207 dd shots...and my pet beating on it the whole time before it died. Didn't resist once...have fun :)

I ran in to this mob 2 times last nite and as a lvl 34 druid it was red to me. I got poisoned and it took me 6 attempts to cure my poison before it was gone. the second time it attacked before I had a chance to buff my group with endure poison so I don't know if the buff is strong enough to resist the poison. I did get 3 silks from it. I have no idea what to do with them. if anyone knows the going rate please post it.

Hi I play on the Rathe server and the silks this thing drops is for Erudite Steelsilk Armor (cultural aromor (ONLY wearable by Erudite Clr, Pal, and Shd))

I have bought a book in cabillis for making silk armor. So far I haven't seen this book any where else. Anyway to make a long story short you kill the spider to get the silks to make armor that is as strong as plate mail armor.

Well, I've never played an SK before, at least nowhere near long enough to worry about an epic weapon, but when I first heard bout this guy, I was campin the AC. A Erudite SK was lookin for Terror, so I assumed it might be for epic. After I ran around killing every spider and undead I came across, (which is a good way to increase the spawn rate of rare mobs and SG's here), I suddenly saw this BIG sucker crawlin outta a sand dune right for me! Well, I'm positive he's 37th lvl, so watch your butt around this guy, the poison DoT is nasty. Also, I don't know if this guy is epic-related, but his silks are indeed for Erudite Cultural armor, so sell em for a fat load of cash, go buy some Tboots, and LEAVE MY AC ALONE! Hehe.....

I got jumped by this freak of nature, it bit me for 3 points and poisoned me. I had SoW and made it to Innothule, but when I zoned through I had 5 HP's left. Now I have 358 HP's at this level. Do the math, 358-3=355, that means this freaks poison is a 350point DoT! I have heard that it stacks on itself from others who have been bitten multiple times, but I have not confirmed it myself, and do not intend to try. What do you do when you find yourself and a friend being chased by Terrorantula? You trip your friend and run as fast for zone as you can.
it should be noted that depending on your race you may have regen'd faster than someone else so it may actually be more than just 350.

This may just be a leap in though, but I think that if you fight the Terrorantula enough times, you will get another limb or section, and then you should take then to a NPC and they will want a "whole terrorantula body" or something in that general idea field, these are just shots in the dark, but I am trying.

I have been camping him on E'ci recently. Have not found a rhyme or reason to his spawns. I kill all the Spiders and Scarabs in the desert, and any Undead that aggro on me.
First attempt: 8 Hours, no spawn
Second attemp: 2 Hours, one spawn
Third attempt: 2 hours, THREE back to back spawns. Apparently he can be a PH for himself...
Fourth attempt: 4 hours one spawn.
So, I have killed him five times. He always drops either a Leg or Heart and between 1 and 5 silks. He has dropped the Leg 4 times and Heart once. # of Silks per kills: 2, 5, 4, 5, 1.
You need 2 silks per swatch. Assuming no failures, you need 13 or 14 swatches for a full VISIBLE suit. More if you want Mask, Pauldrons, Belt, and Cloak. That would be 28 Silks, again with no failures on Combine.
If you assume average of 3 silks per drop, you need to kill Terrorantula 8 - 10 times for your Suit. Not a pretty picture, especially if you are a level that would be challenged by Terrorantula or other denizens of the Zone (I am a 55 Cleric so I just melee everything, leave the Sand Giants to the AC hunters, and use my Mana to nuke down Terrorantula).

Was in Sro goofing off last night, and decided to try and get some silks for tailoring (wanted to mess around with cured silk) Well, first thing I do, being a druid, is hit tracking...and I see something I had never seen before...a mob called 'a sand mummy'. So I track it...thinking how strange...kill it easily enough...and BOOM Terrorantula spawns on top of me...skeered me :P I was like Dayum my video card just broke...bit no, just a 75 foot spider :P
Anywho...I was thinking...a sand mummy...something not exactly common...I kill it and boom...a huge spider. Well, I killed the 3 sets of regular spiders that spawn (kill 4 and 4 more pop...3 times...then a sand mummy spawns again) So I thought...cool...let's kill the sand mummy again...well I killed it and hit tracking...no terrorantula...so I was shot down...I turned to my right and 5 seconds later I see a spider come over a hill...Terror popped again.
I repeated the process 3 more times (killed normal spiders, then sand mummy when it popped) and did not See Terror spawn again. It may be totally unrelated, but until proven wrong I will assume a sand mummy is Terror's PH (like Mino Hero, does not pop every time ph is killed) Also I have 9 silks if anyone on Rodcet Nife is interested :)

my 13 Troll SK Kylur and a few of his buds were working a derv camp the other night...we had just cleared the three by the tents out with the other two tanks chasing the last one down...
I paused to take a look around and before I even turned ... WACK!! one of these was all over me...
only the guys who had sow and could react lived thru this one...
even though we were in combat I heard nothing approach... the HOOK NOSE Giants can be heard quite easily...but I think these spidy's are quiet as a mouse... keep your back to the wall!!!

Umm. Level 12? I don't think so. Maybe a tarantula, not the terrorantula.
Of course, maybe Verant decided to take pity on all of the erudites trying to get their hands on the silk and dropped the level on this thing, but I doubt it.

I was doing the basic AC hunt and killing all the rare spawns when this HUGE spider charges me from across the zone. Earlier I had killed an SG with my bardic songs AoE fear and Snare so I figured no sweat this guy is supposed to be only level 40 tops and I am 53. Well he was so big my AoE rarely got him and he was doubling for 80 a shot. I was quickly down to less than 2 bubbles of health and had barely dented him so I bugged out to Oasis, memed a couple of target DoTs and burned him from a distance. He dropped a Gargantuan Tarantuala Heart and 3 or 4 of those silks. Anyone know what this junk is for? Funny thing was I got exp for the kill at 53. Must have been blue or high green.

Like with every other spider out there, you must stand near its abdomen to loot. ..better results when you aren't standing within the body, but outside, facing the abdomen.
Found it once, killed it soon after. Dropped Gargantuan Tarantula Legs and FIVE Terrorantula Silks (non-stackable).

On the Tunare Server; my cleric, Gynob, will pay 100pp (negotiable) per terrorantula silk that anyone provides him. He is typically in or around the Freeport area. He is Erudite and a master tailor. He is looking forward to making his cultural armor.

I stumbled across this gigant spider and my 55sk got in a dooming darkness upon attack. Two fears later he was down.

He just killed me at level 50...
Was helping out some lower level guildmates and it attacked them so I had to join in to help sans mana...

Killed this bugger tonight. I am a 51 necro and he resisted every Splurt i threw at him. Cascading Darkness was a no go as well. Ended up having to fear and have pet kill him. He is VERY magic resistant. Took quite a while to bring him down. Dropped 1 leg and 2 silks.

Ok, I am a level 3 marrior from the small town of Qeynos and I took a group across to Freeport to meet a friend, but they dropped me off in the desert and said "hoof it" so I started running like hell (not wanting to be bothered by mad men and skeletons) but as I cressed a hill i saw this big *** thing and apparentally....It saw me too. I stared to run but faced right into a orc camp so i doubled back into the Terrorantula it was all in all very embarassing as it killed me in one hit and it took nine try's to recover my body (Since I was binded in Qeynos still), well that is my story.
