Yes the AC does still spawn, took me about 3 hours of killing mummies, giants, madman, cutthroats and any wandering named mobs... he spawned at 11pm (game time)
Since the zone revamp, when Oasis was merged with South Ro, does the Ancient Cyclops still spawn there at all?
I'd like to hear confirmation from someone who witnessed it there. Most people tell me that it no longer spawns there, only on cyclops island in the Ocean of Tears.
I"ve also heard that it no longer spawns at the static placeholder spot that used to be on Erollisi Island in OOT (?).
Surefire way to get him to spawn: take a tracker (have auto update on) find either "a mummy" "sand giant" "desert madman" and a "dervish cutthroat" (the derv has to be a roaming spawn not a static, its not hard hes the only one that roams) once you find this person kill them at 10am....30.6666min later you have a 10% chance to spawn the AC at 8pm. If its not the AC then kill it asap and once the PH comes at 6am wait to kill it until 10am....rinse repeat. AVOID KILLING ANYTHING ELSE AS TO NOT MESS WITH YOUR TRACK FILTER!
Someone suggests that since you'll either be killing the AC or another PH at 8pm game time you could get another shot at 6am (30.666min after 8pm) but i still very highly doubt you can see him up unless he spawns between 8pm-5am.
I just camped this the last two days for me and a friend got him both times at 8pm. FYI: the "a mummy" spawn can only happen at night (8pm-5am) so if you ever see one at 6am then that should pretty much confirm that the AC can also spawn at 6am but i've seen 4 "a mummy" and 2 AC and all happened to be at 8pm.
Ok, for anyone who doesn't like searching through thousands of posts, this is it. At 10am, game time, simply go through the desert area and kill every desert madman you see, or sand giant, a mummy, or a dervish cutthroat like the list says a few posts down. Then about 31 minutes later it will be 8pm gametime which means the night names are used which means a mummy and named large guys can spawn. After you kill the respawn, whatever it is, 31 more minutes and it should be around 6-7am, still technically night. So you get 10% chance, two times, every 72 minutes to spawn the AC this way. That's it, and I wish I had known that in 2001...
Totally confirmed this post, in addition to the comment by prackers below. Clear out all desert madmen, dervish cutthroats, sand giants, and that hussain giant dude, right at 10 a.m. game time(never saw any "mummies" and did not kill any "crypt mummies" or other "shrivelled mummies", they are not involved). Then, according to pracker's code, one of these will spawn at 8, kill immediately, and another will spawn at 6 a.m.( do not kill the 6 a.m. spawn until 10). repeat this cycle every 72 minutes. Eventually the cyclops will spawn, may take a while. He spawned for me exactly at 8 p.m. right in the middle of the dune just south of the camp with vendors. Works like a charm
I followed these instructions, and killed only mummies, madmen, roaming cuttthroats and sand giants... got him to pop at about midnight game-time. It definitely works on PEQ.
Think what it basically says there is a 10% chance for that MOB to spawn as the ancient cyclops instead of one of the other listed types, and then only if it is night time. What it doesn't tell you is how often that particular MOB will spawn, or how many MOBs there are with that table. I've never heard of more than one AC being up at a time, so presumably there is just one MOB.
[EQ] Romen Orgi of Midnight Dreamcatchers / Magician, Brell Serilis (Cazic Thule) server magelo Romen of Fippy's Revenge / Magician, Fippy Darkpaw server Fiella / Magician, Firona Vie server Mentas of Cursed Asylum / Magician, Test Server magelo
Got him today, no idea what triggered him as I found him running around as I zoned in. Lvl 31, took all my mana, but didn't need to use my loh so fairly easy.
After the revamp has anyone seen an AC in South Ro ???? I have not even after 10 lvls!!! I would clear the old place holders and everything, still nothing. /Shurgs
i used to think it was just a timed spawn but now I hear placeholders. allways been a mystery to me. I did kill it 35 times+ and lodozil 30+ times and bildge, and quilmaine, etc etc. never figured it out though. Lodozil it seemed was fairly predicable 10 hours about. AC though was just all over the place. seemed like 6 hours but then people seemed to be able to spawn it. we ran all around killing everything seemed pretty random.
When I got to the island, I went to the old druid ring and just sat there. Lots of cyclops running around, but opened track and no sign of ancient. After several minutes, I went to get a drink, came back, opened track and the ancient was there.
He was on the same path as before the revamp. He just walks over to the other side of the island, stands there for awhile and wanders back.
The only difference now, is no place holder, and the seafury's are on the same island.

I can confirm that the ancient cyclops spawns on the seafury island quag does also and the tainted cyclops for druid epic I got the ancient cyclops in the middle of the island basically. I just kept killing near the druid ring.
Just killed the ancient cyclops in OOT after clearing the island 1 time. He popped at loc 2408.73, -3501.48, -291.57. He dropped the Ring of the Ancients.
Zoned in to do Tainted/Corrupted Seafury for epic 1.0
Jumped off boat at the wrong island cause my maps all disappeared. Swam over to the seafury island, didn't recognize a thing since the revamp. Stuck some labels on the islands, bound in between the seafury island and goblin island, just in the middle of the water.
Checked track several times, gated out to get a kei, gated back, AC was on track.
It was nighttime in game. Dunno exact time.
loc pos 1965, neg 3785, neg 133
I banked the ring, and dragged an alt back to the island, and in the 40 mins it took, another AC had popped.
BTW, the mudtoes were up the whole time. Neither AC was near the Mudtoe spawn spots.
As a follow up, in four days, the tainted popped once, and I have not seen the Ancient Cyclops again. Quag is up almost every hour. Edited, Jul 21st 2007 4:43pm by glod
So I was just helping a friend camp the AC in the new OOT and he popped right in front us. I noticed a few things I thought I would share.
1. Both the Corrupted Seafury and Quag Maelstrom were up when the Ancient Cyclops spawned so they do not share the same spawn table.
2. It was in the open area right next to the druid rings where we were killing.
3. He is taller than all the other Seafury, The corrupted and most likely the same height as Quag. This would be a good way for those without track to quickly scan the area for any taller ones.
I can confirm that he AC does spawn on the seafury island in the new OoT. I set up at the defunct druid ring on the south side of the island & agro kited seafuries on my baby necro. It took me a couple days of off & on killing to get the AC (I leveled from 35 to 37). I can confirm that he spawned in the big open area to the west of the old druid ring. I guess the ph can be any of the seafury cyclops so just kill at will.
It seems that the old spawn cycle with Boog Mudtoe no longer has the AC on it. I killed Boog 20+ times and he respawned each time. Hope this helps!
Edit - After 3 days and 6 1/2 levels gained from camping him I finally got him. I logged on and he was walking around with the other Seafury in the open area near the Druid Rings. Quag was up at the same exact time.
Got A.C. about 2 minutes ago. Total of 11 hours, 54 minutes of camping. 118 Place Holders, 1 A.C. I'm getting the heck out of here now. Lol. Oh, btw... Spawned in the usual place in OoT. Never tried the SRo, EKarana, SKarana ones and don't intend to. Just glad I got the ring. Buddy picked a bad time to come back to EQ, told him he should have came last month, Fabled J-Boots would have been soooo much easier to get. =D
Yes he still pops, they must of fixed problems cause 61 shammy friend and I camped him on the22nd mar 2007. 5 spawns and then he popped. I got ring and figured i would wait to see next pop for buddy , low and behold 2 AC spawns in a row . Both got ring and not coming back until Alt needs it.. GL to all and i definately prefer OoT for AC. Also !! He is in same spot as always on OoT. not moved.

I camped in OOT at AC island 25 hours off and on. no AC. there was a mage on seafury island and i talked to him. he said he had killed the AC 3 times on seafury island. think they moved AC camp to seafury island now since TBS expansion. Ive camped mudtoe on seafury island and he has a super long repop time so not sure hes the PH for AC. in SRO i think the AC has been nerfed and not sure where he pops in S. and E. Karana and may not have been nerfed. fingers crossed. Bootstrutter in rathe mountains still is there but he walks around now instead of running. that was good news for Jboot ppl. Hope this helps
Same for me. I petitioned and the reply was a nonhelpful "Since tbs came out the ring has been looted by hundreds of players, the mob is spawning it is just very rare". Well DUH, I had asked if it was spawning in OOT... oh well. Personally I doubt it will spawn there if Boog is the only mob appearing and not the other placeholders.
this must be bugged. i went to check on Goob Mudtoe at the seafury island and there were a bunch of him up at once. seemed like another Goob spawned each time Boog was killed, so i tested it and i was right. i pulled Boog to Goob's spawn point and killed him, sure enough a Goob spawned as soon as Boog died. i had 7 of Goob up at once after killing 7 of Boog. as of now, nothing but Boog has spawned at the AC spawn point. i managed to get the AC before the new expansion went live, but deffinately seems bugged now.
Got lucky and got AC last night . Game time was 3am and he was the second spawn. Sooo Lucky I was. Yes he still spawns and cons LB to 48 cleric, Was easy kill as he should be for my level.Good luck to all.
Cleric do it better and with more class.

I want to confirm DukeLatin's method for the Ocean of Tears. Although I suspect you can get the A.C. faster in south ro, knowing the exact spot the guy will spawn on was just too easy for me. I can kill one mob every 6 minutes for 10 hours if I have something like homework or a PlayStation to fill in the time.
That being said, I'm ashamed to admit I got the ancient cyclops on the third respawn, so it took me 12 min., heh.

I have a character on 2 servers and one of them is on the Combine Server. I've noticed that the Combine Server has half the mobs in South Ro, compared to other servers. So that means if you plan on killing those funny named mobs, you are going to see maybe 6 - 10 mobs at night compared to 12 - 20 mobs on the other servers. In other words, spawning the AC in South Ro and on the Combine Server is going to be a very, very long camp. If anyone has a sure fire way to spawn him on the Combine Server with the re-vamp AND with half the funny named mobs, let us know. Anyway, good luck!
Killing the funny named mobs is not a complete answer. I had a long stretch when there were no such mobs on track, until I started killing other stuff then the funny names started showing up. So I'd say kill funny names first and when they are gone kill everything else.
Hi, Ok so you got the AC after the zone revamp. But you didnt specify anything new for a method than whats already been posted dozens of times already, plus you leave a disclaimer, a way out, lol if someone else isnt successful trying to duplicate your methods. In other words you dont really have a method to successfully spawn the AC. I have a 2 specific questions to ask: Since the zone revamp, both Oasis and South Ro are merged into the same zone and theres SAND areas in each. So where do I hunt, only the old South Ro area or the whole combined area? Has anyone tried to see if theres a spawn timer for phs for AC like Quillmane in SK?
I'm in OOT now waiting for it to spawn and the timer shows that the phs show up at 5 minutes 50 second intervals after each one is killed.
I'd like to try the S Ro one if I can get faster AC spawns there.
I've been playing EQ for nearly 7 years and I've MQ'ed the J-Boots quest for literally hundreds of players over the years. Both myself and my friends have had oodles of experience in spawning the AC in South Ro and I'd like to share JUST THE FACTS that we've compiled over the years. No more rumors or speculations... no wild claims of special uber knowledge... just FACTS that we've collected:
(1) We have never seen him spawn during the day. I'm not interested in posts from people who claim "But... I killed the AC during the day..!!!" Yes, you killed him during the day, but only because he had spawned the night before and hadn't yet been killed by anyone else. He can remain up for quite some time... well into the daytime... before he eventually despawns. Am I 100% positive about this..? Nope... but again, in many years of camping the AC, we have never once seen him spawn during the daytime, but yet we have successfully spawned him hundreds of times during the night. Those are the facts, ma'am.
(2) Furthermore, we have only seen him pop on even-numbered hours during the night. In other words, WITH OUR OWN EYES we have only seen him pop at 8pm, 10pm, 12am, 2am, and 4am game time. If he spawns on odd-numbered hours, we have never seen that happen... not once in many years.
(3) Killing everything in the zone will not hasten his appearance. However, there do seem to be certain "unusual" mobs that belong to his spawn cycle. To be more clear: the AC seems to belong to one particular group of unusual creatures that can spawn in SRo. He will pop randomely as one of those unusual mobs, just as any of the others can at any given time, during the AC's spawn cycle...
Here's a few mobs that we've concluded are a part of his "spawn group..."
a madman a mummy Crypt Mummy Sand Giant Hussam an asp a rattlesnake
If you'll notice, with the exception of the two named mobs (Crypt Mummy and Hussam), there's only one thing in common with those mobs: none of them have adjectives in their names. Since making note of this peculiarity, we've made a point of killing ONLY those mobs when we begin our AC camp in SRo. Interestingly, those mobs also seem to pop most often at night and on even-numbered hours. I have no idea why that is the case, but again... I am simply sharing the facts that we have gathered over the years.
(4) We have never seen any relationship between Terrorantula and the AC. We have, in fact, seen both of them pop simultaneously on more than one occasion.
Our method has been to begin hunting down unusually named mobs and nothing else. There are other such "unusually named" mobs, also. When we spot one, we kill them immediately. We leave everything else alone.
Following the above method, we have consistently spawned the AC within 2 nights (game time), and sometimes in as little as 90 minutes (of real time) from when we first begin. The fastest ever time was within 15 minutes of real time.... we just happened to hit a lucky roll in his cycle and he popped right away.
Disclaimer: what others have said is also true, however... since the AC can be any one of perhaps a dozen "unusual mobs" in the spawn cycle, and since that cycle is a random one... there is no guarantee that he will pop within any given amount of time, even if you do everything right. The bottom line is this: with the above method, you can speed things up, but being a random spawn means that he could still take quite awhile to arrive.
i am convinced he doesn't exist, since the revamp of SRO. i see high lvls come in and make terrorantula spawn easily to get the silk. i see necros making the name ghoul spawn. but i have yet to see the AC. tried all kinds of ways to make him spawn. the only things i have been able to make pop are SG hussan and a sand giant. killed all undead, kept hut clean..nothing. he's a MYTH!!!
Got him for someone just last week. Best advice: Don't follow any "sure fire" ways to spawn him. Just kill everything that's not static.
I myself have had better luck with the OOT one. Only actually done the Sro one a couple times, but got him to pop both times. The Ekarana one is too rare. Only got him when he popped on my head as I was passing through.
One week i camped this guy for a total of 277 hours. twice i spent 77 hours straight. in that time of killing the entire zone i saw just about ever rare named and the fabled spider rush but only once near the very end did i see him - ended up getting KS'ed by the way.
The only way to spawn the AC is to camp for the night and not return. Once you are long gone and sound asleep he will spawn for someone else who will brag about only camping him for 5 minutes.
#Div,
Posted:Mar 04 2006 at 10:48 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Tards still think the tower time kills matter... LOL... heard that for like 5 years LOL dumbasses! is pop form SG table by killing trash... thats it.. LMAO and peeps just posted he only pops at night... and the zone cant be filled with people... LOLLOLLOL!! guess you werent there back in the day when 30peeps were fighting for him... STILL saying same kill mob in tower at x time crap... LOL
True.. I killed him once in feb 2006... As I was killing the mobs in the tower I could see that he was passing by in background.. I think there's no PH.. The time might be important..Never killed him daytime (game time). And after the changes in SRo never seen him :(((
Ok do this or don't do it. I've Jbooted DOZENS of times, this is my sequence.. take it or leave it.
[South Ro] 1) AC is a night spawn.... NEVER seen him in the day. 2) Kill sand tower mob at 8 pm game time. 3) Kill random placeholders till AC spawns. No need to kill everything in zone!
Random nitetime Placeholders can be: Terrorantula's a terrorantuling (sometimes a multi spawn) a madman (not - a desert madman) Sand Giant Sand Giant Husam a giant rattlesnake A Sand Mummy a dune tarantula a teir`dal scout a zombie A Young Ronin a ghoul a crypt mummy (sometimes respawns in tower) An Orc Raider (sometimes a multi spawn) Anumnan Dathry Crypt Mummy Drybones Skeleton (not- dry bones skeleton) and, pretty much anything starting with Capital letters
4) Kill placeholders continously till 6 am game time 5) Once a PH is dead another usually spawns within 3 minutes 6) After 6 am gametime... forget it untill 8 pm
For you nay-sayers out there, I just now followed the exact order of what this guy said, and sure enough, AC popped for me right on schedule :) Want the JBoots? Do it:
Heh, all my toons have Jboots, all my friends toons have Jboots. I've spawned the AC in SRo about 30 times now. You don't have to wear yourself out killing everything in the zone. There's a trick to it, but you need a bard, ranger or druid to track. First, eliminate any terrorantulas, terrorantulings, sand mummies, Young Ronin's from the previous spawn cycle. Watch the EQ game time carefully. If you have eliminated these, and any mobs with unusual capitolization in their names, then the zone is prepped. Watching the EQ game time, go to the undead tower and wait until at least 5:00PM game time, but I find it's usually better to wait until 8:00PM EQ time. Check to see how many people are in the zone. If its more than 3, the odds of the AC popping are drastically reduced. The fewer people in the zone, the more likely you will be able to spawn him. (In the early days of EQ the solution to people whining about KS'ing the AC was for Verant to alter the spawn table so the mob wouldn't pop unless the zone was nearly empty. LDoN really messed up the AC spawn in SRo with all the people hanging out in the LDoN camp, but if you can try this in the wee hours of the morning, or find the zone nearly empty, go for it.) So, at 8:00PM Norrath time step into the undead tower and kill the undead mob there. Watch your time closely and step in immediately as the game clock changes the hour. Odds are a bit better if its the skeleton, but sometimes the AC pops for the crypt mummy. Once you kill the mob, stand in the center of the undead tower and watch the EQ time again. As soon as the hour rolls over to the next EQ hour (3 minutes from when you stepped in), leave the tower and run out to the hill north of the Inky camp and start watching for the AC, A Young Ronin, a sand mummy, or mobs with unusual capitolization in thier names. Ignore any sand giants, they aren't PH's. If a sand mummy spawns, killing it will spawn the Terrorantula, or the Terrorantulings, and the AC will not spawn on that cycle. Kill any of these unusually named mobs, and a new mob will spawn immediately afterwards. Kill it. Very often the AC will spawn directly, but sometimes you have to drop a PH. Keep tracking throughout the EQ night. Once the sun comes up, the odds of the AC popping are drastically reduced. The latest I ever saw him spawn in the 30 times I've done him was 6:00AM EQ time, but almost always if he doesn't pop by 5:00AM then he won't pop. And that's how you get your Ring of the Ancients. (Standing in the Tower until the clock rolls over may just be superstitious on my part, but its worked really well for me many times, so I still do it every time. If you want to test the validity of this step, be my guest.) Again, if there are a bunch of people in the SRo zone, don't waste your time, go do something else. For the AC to spawn the zone must be nearly empty of players. Don't kill the mob in the tower before 5:00PM EQ time, or after 11:00PM EQ time. 8:00PM EQ time is optimal.
Here's another tip to avoid KS'ing from trackers sitting in the LDoN camp... pull the AC to the far NW corner of the map and kill him in the trench there. If you are getting the boots for an alt, you can camp the alt in the trench. This way he's out of tracking range of perhaps all but a Ranger in the LDoN camp, and killing him in the trench keeps him from being visible to people casually wandering through the zone. When you camp to your alt, if the AC's corpse is in the trench, nobody can see the body laying there waiting to be looted.

Yeah Mazziks strat below works like a charm. I popped into the zone around 5pm game time , killed all the mobs he listed. Waited right until 8pm gametime and then slayed the undead in tower. I stayed in the tower for 1 game hour. Ran out to the inky merchants and went to hit tracking , but there was no need. The Ancient Cyclops popped right in front of me. Brilliant strat.
1) go to east freeport. talk to the gnome translocator on the docks. tell him you want to travel to the ocean of tears.
2) you will be translocated by the gnome to another dock in the ocean of tears. Right now, you're on "sister isle". From there you want to go *1* island over, to the west. This is the island you will camp the ancient cyclops on.
3) Ancient Cyclops Island - The Info on this island there are some ruins from an old tower. inside it there is a high elf who sells magician spells. If you see her, then you are on the correct island. there should only be 1 spawn on this island besides the merchant. It can be 1 of 5 creatures: 1. Boog Mudtoe (an ogre) 2. a pirate 3. an aqua goblin 4. a cyclops 5. an ancient cyclops
4) Once you are ready to start the spawn/ph cycle for the ancient cyclops (pending that it isn't camped already) you must find which 1 of these 5 creatures is up on the island. Once the mob pops they will wander the island, so if the mob is already up when you get there you must find it (i think it walks over to the west side of the island) and kill it to begin the cycle.
5) Now that you have killed it, look at a clock or do /time. The next Placeholder will pop in 6 minutes. Here is the spawn info you will need. Go to this loc, on the east side of the island: 1008 , -8022. This spot is in the SE corner of the island on a little area of land that looks like half of an octagon on your map. It's just a stone's throw from where Saldra Trailfinder stands. Once the 6 minutes passes, you should see another PH pop up at this spot.
6) Repeat process every 6 minutes, the PH will keep spawning here till an ancient clops pops. Happy Hunting! I got my ring in 6 hours or so ---------------------------------------------- Extra Info: *to be exact, the pop time is 5min 53sec +/- a second or so.
*From what I have read, the ancient cyclops is about a 1% pop rate. Based on this rate and assuming the placeholder is killed every 6 minutes that would mean you kill 10 every hour. so after 10 hours you will have killed 100 mobs.. which means that an ancient cyclops should have popped within those 100 mobs/10 hours; my point is, he is a rare pop and it could be 10 minutes of camping or 10 hours :(
*The seafury cyclops', on the island over are not involved with the ancient spawn in anyway. There's no need to kill anything except the 1 spawn on the ancient cyclops island.
*if you need a stopwatch, here is a cool program i found. you can set the options so that you can start and stop the timer with a key-press on a button you rarely use such as scroll lock. Timer Program
AC Popped last night in S-Ro (about 7:30pm GMT), I was starting my JBoot quest and entered the zone to discover only one other person in there who witnessed and killed the AC 30 minutes before. I enquired via General how do you get the One eyed swine to pop again and they said "KILL EVERYTHING!" I checked here on Alla and this too seems to be how people believe to get him to pop also. He popped the other player wiped him out and /tell'ed me it was here if I wanted to loot it.
I did noticed that the AC seemed to spawn when the named spider (Terrorantula) was killed (dark blue to my 48 Ranger) releasing the oodles of smaller spiders it was after this moment did the other person shouted me about AC.
A lot of things in the zone were still very much alive.
I have been camping Sro for four days nite and day all times and cannot spawn the AC..Killed everything and tried the Strategies posted here .It truly is random and i could be unlucky but i am moving to OOT ,there is a set spawn point and i will be there for as long as it takes.Good luck and stay tuff..
Ok listen up 'tards. AC is a random spawn from desert trash--kill it all he will pop at some point. Ok it's RANDOM--understand that. It does not matter the game time, the amount of playes, if stuff in undead tower is killed. It's RANDOM. And for the IDIOTS that believe the tower mob or game time has anything to do with this your are truly tard-o-licions. At the time Verant--now Sony--designed these zones there was NEVER a game time component to spawns.
just finished doing this guy twice... thank you for previous posters info...
used a 65 druid, could track the entire desert... used my pet as a marker on the track window.
i don't know what the undead tower has to do with the tea in china, but i kept it empty. i found the regular dune tarantula's don't seem to be tied to anything, but i killed 'em anyways ;)
i kept the 4-spawns dead (terrortantulings (commonly) , desert tarantulas (commonly), pumas (twice), shriveled mummies (once)). mostly, i noticed, was that there was always 1 singular mob in the desert (by singular i mean only 1 up at a time): a crypt mummy, a sand mummy, a shriveled mummy, a rattlesnake, a cistern asp, a jackal, a zombie, a dervish cutthroat (no capitals like the regulars). i kept those killed as well and in both cases, the ancient cyclops spawned within the first eq night of me logging on.
only saw 3 sand giants, and 1 named giant... there's also a named zombie wandering out there who doesn't like dots or can be rooted/snared :D (dark blue at 65)
perhaps coincidence. i don't know, but if you're only in need of 1 ring, s'all good ;) i will say that after i got the 1st ring, the cyclops didn't spawn the rest of the RL evening for me.
I have not, although I should imagine that it would work as normal until the turn in, when you'd lose everything you gave Hasten and get the message that duplicate lore items are not allowed.

Oh, YES they ARE LORE. So you would lose them on the second attempt to turn them in. They can be multi quested. Ive done that over a dozen times myself.
The J-boots were multiquestable at one time. During the Kunark expansion, my rl bro askd me to come over and keep hailing the guy in Rathe Mtns so he could do part of the turn-in with his ranger then /camp out then he logged his low lvl cleric on the same account back in and did the final turn-in. His cleric got the boots. I haven't tried since then to multiquest them so I dunno if it still works.
My 55 necro, Ashantres, got the JBoots long ago... and tried to MQ for a monk i'd become friends with. Upon turning in the ring before she turned in rapier and gold... ARG !K! got a 2nd pair, which didnt please either of us. So now there's a back up set in bank for CR's.... which was pretty useful till Guild Hall happened and made CR's a bad memory. Lore ? maybe now.. but she's stil got both pairs so i'd guess only teh new ones are lore if any are.
Well im a lvl 26 monk thats not special and just by chance ran through and saw the Cyclops....i had temp and sow and a soloed the giant with 32% left....got the J boots about 30mins later with the help of a lvl 60 mage

Soloed him with a 38 bard using selos constant chain, tuyens chant of flame and fufils curtailing chant. Just kite him around the island, battle took about 8 minutes. I dropped him in OOT which is the only place ive seen him so far.

Have one problem with the statement of low amount of players in the zone in order for the AC to spawn. Ive seen for myself at least a dozen AC's pop WHILE raids were forming at the wizard spires. So Im 100 percent sure you are wrong with amount of players in zone to effect the spawn. The rest of you statement I would have to try it myself to discount it, but in my 20 times of getting the AC to spawn myself I didnt kill any mobs in the tower and had him spawn in all areas of the sand at any time during the game day.
Nice info there! I didn't kill anything unnecessary (don't have much mana to work with in the first place on my 40druid). I ported to S.Ro, no AC on track... I killed any terror-lings that happened to be up. Then I waited until 8pm game time and killed the skelly in the undead tower. Waited about 5-8 minutes then ran around tracking. After a bit, 4 terror-lings spawned. I started killing them. After the third one was dead and I had aggro on the last, the AC spawned! I was hanging at negative mana so I quickly logged my bf's druid on for some help. I rooted the spider and got aggro on the AC. Snare/Root, sit for enough mana for my baby dot. Got his druid there and epic-dott'd and started nukin the crap outta him. He resisted A LOT. took about 20 nukes and the dot to kill him. Looted the ring so I can MQ it for my bf's rogue. He'll be happy!
I spent maybe 2 hours hunting in the desert. I killed a couple of giants and that Moldrak guy twice. I cleared out the sunken tower. Nothing. So I gated, hunted elsewhere for awhile, then ran back to SRo. Another person, a froggie, sends me a tell to come to loc such-and-such. Bingo! Dead ancient one-eyed guy right there! Sweet. I get the ring and thank my fellow countrymen before opening a silver bullet and callin it quits. Me so tired.
