Easy way to gain faction for FP is to run to High Hold keep auction for some Left Gobbie ears and turn them in to Captain Bosec, you get some gold and all plusses on faction including Corrupt Guards of Qeynos, Freeport militia and high hold faction as well as a few others Hope this helps
? wtf? What the hell do Highkeep goblins have to do with minotaurs? Well, here's my 2cp. If you wanna get good faction with Highkeep, Freeport and Qeynos, do orcs. They all spawn on the cliff, they all aggroo, the faction hits you get for killing them is decent and the scalps you turn in get you about 4 gold (give or take). I went from scowls to kindly in a week, sold 2 Shiny Brass Idols and got a Scralok pack for my troubles. If you want exp do the gobs in the basement, good exp and they usually drop plat and FS weapons in the warrior room.
That doesn't work very well. You get only a miniscule bit of faction for each goblin ear; I myself started out dubious in Highhold/Highkeep and apprehensive in East and West FP, and after turning in dozens of ears I am STILL dubious in HH and HK and apprehensive in WFP and EFP. I have heard since then that you need to turn in hundreds of ears to raise faction any considerable amount...at 1 or 2pp per ear this could get kinda expensive.
What I don't understand is...why is this message about Hihgkeep and Freeport in a section about Minotaur Heros?

Simple. Alot of people who quest for the Hero Bracer take the easy way in raising SteelWarrior faction in Qeynos. On the bad side of doing this, it kills your FreeportMilitia faction. He's just suggesting a way to raise FP faction I'd imagine. Of course, nothing is better than doing the DF belt quest...

Mostly cons green to a 49 ranger. But today he conned Blue to me. even at green you get the exp. message.
Only the 1st slaver in the cave is needed to trigger the spawn, but the Hero is a timed spawn so you can kill the 1st slaver all you want ,if it aint time for the Hero to spawn, he wont.

I was trying to get him to spawn last weekend (7-7-01). I was at the caves by myself when it happened. The only thing I killed was the first slaver in the cave on the left. All the skells where up, Meldrath was up. I did pull the slaver outside the tunnel to kill it, but I don't know if it was necessary. I believe that Minotaur Slaver is the one and only key to triggering the Hero to spawn.

I camped this guy for about four hours once with my 38 paladin and a few friends... and we couldn't get him to spawn. Well, maybe we could have eventually... I had things to do in real life and needed to log. The very next day, I was playing a level 5 enchanter alt, killing kobolds and clockwork spiders by the windmills. Things were going fine, then while I was medding...

Level 41 ranger here, me and my friend level 35 warrior on Terris-Thule just camped him for more than 5 hours, turns out the one time i decided to run to buy an item he pops, i had ot run back pretty fast, warrior lost sow and so he was almost dead when i got back, we managed to kill him with a lot of rooting and healing.

Was runnin through Steamfont earlier and saw mino hero on track. I knew he was mid 30's, so i figured if my snare was resisted..i'd take hero to zone. Suprisingly enough it stuck..as did dots..and root*for about a half second*. Dots were never resisted..snare did get resisted 7 times in a row...but snare before it wears off to fix that problem. Dropped him with 35m to spare.

Hero's placeholder is believed to be " a mino slave" not a "mino slave". Hero should spawn in about 10mins after killin him so GL all >=)

I was just in Steamfont and I saw the Minotaur Hero out. He conned even to me at level 35 so I figured I'd give it a try. Took him out with two levels to spare and I got the shackel. I'll have to work on my faction in qeynos.
Im a 50 ranger and I dropped this guy with 4 dots and a couple rounds of melee. I just snared him, rooted him(didnt really need to) hit him with stinging swarm and immolation, slapped him with a couple of arrows til root wore off. Rooted again, dotted, charged him. He took about a bub of hps off me with him at half hps. He hits pretty hard but has no hps. Very easy kill. To think I was nervous about it. A guildie kept warning me, "a 50 ranger can only barely solo him man, be careful." Bah. This guy is cake.

Please do not assume level differences to be purely quantitative in nature young one.
We all know how much harder stuff is to solo as you go up in levels.
Hell, at level 34, Matar IceBear which was blue to me was a friggin' ***** to kill. I had to bow kite off 2bubs of his HP before i went in for the kill.
And why don't you ask a Lvl60 warrior to solo a level 50 mob.

Alright quantitative one :P
If we continue the trajectory on comparative levels, we would match a level 60 warrior to a level 42 mob (roughly equivalent ratio to a level 50 taking a level 35 mob - what a challenge :P). I think it's safe to say that the mob would be the one eatin dirt. Perhaps you should revisit mathematics prior to flaming.

Here is how we did it!!
Ok I am a HEF RNG (Yes I made it!!) and when I was in Black Burrow I used to turn in my fangs in Qeynos to get lightstones from one of the guards (newbie-ish quest): what I should have done is to turn them in Halas to the warrior in the Arena... but it was too late.
I tried at Lev 30 to get the "Steel Warrior Initiation" and I conned "indifferent" to the Steel Warrior dudes in the PvP Arena of Qeynos. So I went to Black Burrow and wiped out the dungeon to collect as many gnoll fangs I could. I collected 150 of them in 5 hours and turned them all in, in the PvP Arena in Halas (forget what the Warrior female is called).
Next I went to Northern Desert of Ro and I killed Born de Dinn (whatever) at Derv Camp 1 near docks to Iceclad about 15 times (he spawns every 10 min or less). After all this I went back to Qeynos...
All the Guards outside and inside the city conned me as an "Ally"...I went to visit the Steel Warriors in the PvP Arena and I was Amiable to them!!!!
I did the Steel Warrior initiation twice (remember to use the Key by clicking on it, so that it replaces your mouse cursor - open the 5th cage from the right).
After this I was able to do the Hero Quest. Ask the related guard (don't remember name) in the pit under the PvP Arena in Qeynos "what second escaped gladiator?": if he says either than "you still have to proove yourself bla bla bla" you can do the quest... ok so we went to Steamfont and camped the Hero... kill the first slaver that spawns just inside the cave on the left: make sure you kill him outside the cave. When the Hero spawns, he will be exactly on the opposite side of the cave entrance running around the big grind. When we spawns once, he will spawn again after killing bewteen 6 to 10 placeholders... placeholders spawn every 10 min or so. Once we waited 4 hours for one Hero to Spawn.
Me and Drakugo are now Lev33 and happy of our Bracers. We actually go back once a month to kill one each and make ourselves 1K by selling it at the tunnel.

Well I went about getting my SW faction a little differently.
First I did the pirahna quest a few times. Boring like hell but it slowly brought up SW faction along with Knights of Truth. It seemed to bring up KoT faction much quicker and once I became amiable to them I was able to start giving Milk in to Mojax in WC for even more faction. I gave Mojax about 3 - 3.5 stacks of milk giving in one at a time. A few times I even took the message back to the Paladins for more faction.
A few boring hours later I was now both Amiable to the KoT and SW and my faction with the FP Militia stayed at apprehensive.
Wish me luck, I'll be going for the Bracer now. =)

He is not a random 2-3 hour spawn. My partner and I 31 druid, 35 paly, got him to spawn after the 3rd ent slaver in the cave. It was over 8 hours before we saw him again. And we did not pull the mino out to the cog wheel to get him to spawn. So fyi, he is a completely random spawn, with the slave at the ent as the trigger, Good luck all

Not random, ph is first "a mino slaver" inside the cave, timer is 6min so just kill that dang thing and you'll get your mino, sometimes takes 12minutes and sometimes could take 12 hours P

Me (42 war) and my wife(39 druid) kicked the crap outta this motha hucka to get me my hero bracer. it was so easy i thought heck i can do again solo to get us some money. WRONG. it was a close battle but he got the best of me and took me out. i am not twinked i use crafted and icetooths, crystalized sword combo. so if that can help u i hope it does. good luck.

Naturally i wanted a hero bracer so i ran into a friend 41 cleric and she told me to stand opposte the ent against the brown hill next to a tree and pull a slaver there and kill it then hero would spawn. So a 35 wizzy came along and the cleric left for a sec.. then i was a bout to go in and pull the slaver when all of a sudden POP the hero just spawned.. Killed him and got my bracer. Faction was the gayest and most time consumin part. Astaroth 39 pally tunare server

Ok, this was a nasty camp for me. 10 hours, yes that's right people. So suck it up because it could be bad. Finally got him and he was CAKE...blue to my 35 druid, hits real hard but doesn't have jack for hps (guessing ~1300)

LOL I got Mino Hero to spawn after second slayer was killed An he coned Red to A 30 Bard So I ran an yelled if anyone wanted him didnt get an answer so I Doted The hero SOW song an Doted took half hour to take him down but I got the Shackles

i was chasing a young drake and then alof a sudden i was dead then a week later i went on my friends 60 mage account and i werked him for some reason wen i loged on he was runninbg around steamfont and then i had my pet kill him

Bravo to all who have completed this quest. I am currently 35th level as a Magician and complete this quest with my wife who is a 35th Druid. All in all it is quite profitable (at 1k per Hero Bracer) thought time consuming.
First of all, you are right on the money with the slaver being the trigger. HOWEVER, do not believe that it is a set time between spawns. I have personally verified a 6 hour difference between some spawns and less than an hour at other times.
On Meldrath: While I HAVE seen the Mino pop shortly after Meldrath died, I have also verified that Meldrath has died 3 or 4 times while we were camping the Hero and no pop. Conclusion: There is no tangible evidence to support the assumpton that Meldrath helps trigger the spawn. (But if you can kill Meldrath do so, he drops the skull for the Ivy etched Tunic.. although remember I have watched him take a 39 Ranger down and he has a pet and several other nasties with him)
On Faction: Unfortunately the Militia faction in FP will suffer for your good faction with Steel Warriors. If you can, try giving 4 milks at a time to Milix in WC. (The guy sitting down by the lake.) If you cannot do that quest, try building faction another way for a while first.

I am a Paladin 46 with 1700 hp and 820 AC. I wielded a GB, shield and FBSS. A friend of mine at 47 said he died trying to solo him. So for a melee equipment matters.
I started soloing and saw that Hero and I lost HP generaly at same pace. I rooted him and healed up to full HP. That left me at 30 mana. I still had LH if things should go bad. As I waded back in to melee a friend of mine joined. I do feel I might have been able to kill him without LH, I DEFINATELY could have soloed him with LH.
How to make him spawn.
This is EXACTLY what I did. Hit the slaver at the tunnels entrance once. Run straight out towards the tree close to the little hill at the giant cog wheel. I positioned my self between the tree and the little hill. IF succsesful the Mino Hero will pop at the foot of the hill where you are at the very death of the Slaver.
He will aggro on you ASAP. If you turn around after the kill and do not see a Mino Hero just run back to Mino cave and wait 6 minutes for next pop. All in all it took me one hour. Not bad at all.

You took Damage at level 46? I took this guy on with a friend 2 level 35 warriors and we both had over half health left at the end. At 46 you should be able kill him no problem, he's only 34-36. And if you die at 47 trying to solo him, something is wrong. Another time I semi soloed him at 34, but I did have a 15 druid healing me. I'd believe these numbers if they were 36 and 37 a typo maybe?
Not necessarily true, some mobs just hit very hard with a lot of connects and its much easier with 2 than it is one.. especially warriors, you both can taunt back and forth making confusion for the mob thus less connects on its part and more for each of you. So soloing at any lvl can be hazardous if done incorrectly or due to bad luck..or worse yet lags and LDs. Granted at an uber lvl one should have nice equipment which does make all the difference.

If you damage shield your friend, snare and DOT with Stinging Swarm (won't be resisted, low mana req and will simply keep him from regening HP) then heal your buddy then you will cut through this dude like a warm knife through butter.

The joke with the wurmslayer/baking is that the wurmslayer looks like a cookie cutter for those people smart enough to figure it out. Second is anyone actualy gonna answer the question?

Spent about an hour and fifteen minutes there today. Helped the newbies kill the slavers, pulled the "a mino slaver" out to the trees whenever it wasn't being hunted. About a minute or two after the last slaver was killed, I was running around a bit and saw a wandering slaver, killed him. Popped up on track about a minute later running around the big gear. _Easy_ kite kill for a 43 bard with DoT's. Got about a blue bub and a half for killing hero and completing quest.
