Blazing elementals are essentially larger versions of the Fire Elemental. They come complete with a nasty built-in damage shield, which can be dispelled.
The blazing elementals are found near the Reckless Efreet. His room Location is -65.96, -74.00, 23.88

Working on mage 1.0 today and can confirm the 2-3 blazing elementals are on a 19 min spawn time. The third spawns where the efreeti spawns, but is on a different timer. Pretty sucky camp. Went down to see if I could find the lava elementals, but there's only 1 spawn in the clockwork gnome hidden area and it's not worth the run over and over across the zone for it.

Jeez forgot what epic spawn camping was like .... did 7 hours last night (22 spawn cycles) and donw 6 hours today so far (19 spawn cycles so far) .. and no drop ... plenty of warforged earrings and rings and other junk but no PoF ....
even took an hour out to run to mistmore for the gypsy dance .. and got that first drop .. same as water and earth ... now need to just get this bloody fire one grrrrrr

the elements droped the "Warforged Emerald Hoop" for me today. was a bit suprised, but i still want my drop!!!! still waiting as usaual.

11 hours start to finish... off and on over a period of 4 days. I got it tonight, I camped BOTH mobs for the first 2 hours, but when I didn't get Lava pops, I just stopped going to that camp and just sat at the Efreeti room with an Audio Trigger for Blazing.
If the mob popped, it's cast a spell or hit me... either way I'd know. I read a book in the waiting periods and would loot once my pet (59 air pet with no buffs or gear) killed it.

turn on the height filter and look for the three colors overlapping and thats where the hole is and where the blazing ones are i havent seen the others yet, i spent a long time looking but i finnaly found em

Yes it is the Reckless Efreet room. Yes the spawn is 19 minutes. But the item is rare enough that I have camped this room for over 7hrs and not got the item. Thats 23 spawns and no item.
Camping this for my mge epic 1.0 as many have in the past. On the 5th spawn of the blazing ele.'s I got the PoFire to drop woot. Now on to the next camp =/.
I was also camping the Lava Ele. to help increase my chances. On the 4th spawn the Lava Ele. poped but he did not drop the PoFire all he dropped was the potion.

guys this is a bit off topic BUT iv killed about 100k sarnaks whith my 70 warr and NONE droped any luck killing these elements?

The blazing elementals seem almost pointless to camp, i have been here for about 15hrs now and still no luck. I just moved another char of mine over to the lava elemental to see if it is any better, so now cmaping both.

I spent about 1.5 hours a day at the blazing elementals for the last two weeks. I don't think anyone else was ever in the zone camping them when I wasn't there because the times I came on were sporadic. Anyway, last night I decided to give the lava elemental a try. 2 spawns later (38 min) I saw my first lava elemental and he had the power of fire. Hurray!!

I just got the PoF for my magician off of the blazing elemental that spawns as the PH of the efreeti. The other 2 blazing's only had bloodstones, words, or iron oxide, russet oxide, etc etc.

my PoF dropped on second day. From reading other posts it takes about 5 hours which took mine exactly. The one hour peeps must have been real lucky. This is what I did...

What I find odd is the same time the blazing elemental spawned, so did the the lava elemental in his room and it ALSO dropped the PoF. This was my second lava elemental encounter, first only dropped a potion. Offered a /general offer to CoH someone in need of PoF on lava, no takers.

OK after finding the room they spawn in I camped these from 9:30 am to 11 am on 3/1
no drop at all
then again from 4:30 PM to 10:30 Pm on 3/1 all the while binding in the room and killing blazings then running to lava elemental and killing him with no drop
then on 3/2 at 8:00 am I went back and killed blazings ran to lava elemental room he was up killed him and dropped the pice....so I can confirm that the lava drops it long before the blazings will...blazings just suck thats all there is to it....lol

this week, me (50 mage) and a friend (58 mage) done this part of our mage epic. we camped the spot, where the Reckless Efreeti ( http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=3527 ) is. There are Spawning two of the Elementals. Easy Kill with Pets. We didnt needed anykind of Buffs or something. we done about 60 rotations (120 kills). the respawntime is EXACTLY 19 Minutes for the Elementals, and 69 Minutes for the RE.

Ok, so yeah...this camp is not the most fun in the game. I have about 4 hours into it already and have not gotten it, yet. However, come on folks, enough complaining already. This is for an EPIC weapon...if an epic was easy as showing up, stating your name and class...poof you have your epic...what would be the point? Let's just camp the spawn with the same discipline that our character would if it were real (I guess that is the roleplay in me coming out again.)

I now have over 14 hours spent at this camp...still no drops. I am sure that one day i will log on and it will be the first kill I get...til that day, there I sit.

You can fairly easily find the passage with these guys. There are two ways to enter, but only one to get out. The first way is down the hidden ramp. You go into some rooms with goblins nearby the ruby mining room (looks like lava partially hardened on the walls), but if you go in there, you've gone too far. The second room, I do believe it is, has a door leading to a couple goblins near a fireplace. Go to the right of the door and run straight into the wall. The blazing elementals and the reckless efreeti will be waiting for you.
The second way is the path I took. You go into the room with the rubies and somewhere in the western area of the room there's a false floor, lev yourself down (or just fall, it's not that far), and you'll get the blazing eles on you pretty fast. Don't worry, your pet's not far behind.
Pretty boring camp, got my Power of Fire in a few hours. Rohane's guide, found here, says it's generally a 3-5 hour camp.

FYI, as soon as they popped, they aggroed on my 46 driud,, even though they were green to me. They dont look like the picture though.. I will see if I can get a better shot.

I had mine drop the other day after camping both camps for 40+ hours. Killed at least 10 reckless efreeti's. Dropped off of a blazing elemental. so don't give up :)

OK, so after my previous complaining session, I finally got one to drop, after a total of about 5 1/2 hrs of camping both the blazing elementals and the lava elemental. Needless to say I don't want to ever see this place again. Very frustrating!! everyone below was right the blazing ones are on a 19 min timer and the lava one is on a 30 min or so timer. Have fun and enjoy the long wait, the other 3 powers for the mage epic dropped for me in the first or second kills.

Ok, so it's been 3 hrs now and no POF, has the drop rate been changed, have a cleric here camping too and he's killing lava elem. for me, and alas, it's still been 3 hrs... do the POF dance please, i'm sick of this place

If you kill the lava elemantal realise you only have to kill the ph not the others stuff. But After 8 hours and 3 spawns I was lucky enough only to be able to loot 1 !!!!
After a petition I know now how to loot if I can't target a mob.... And I switched camps to the blazing elementals.... first round - nada, second round a efreeti..., third round BINGO

My turn to complain. Camped 10 hrs straight once and guess what? No drop! I knew how hard this was going to be going into it. I also only camped the lava elementals because I do not want to trash my faction with the gmones. Some spells I can only find in Ak'Anon. Therefore bad faction = no spell, unless you have a good friend willing to go get it for you. I do not have that kind of time. I guess the lava elementals still drop the PoF but not as often as the blazing elementals? So, back to SolA and long camps.

I've been trying for the Power of Fire gem for about 5 hours now. I'm a 52nd Mage and I'm down here with two other mages that i met here, a lvl 55 and 54. We grouped up with 2 of us in the lava elemental room and 1 of us in the blazing elemental room.
So far 2 PoF have dropped. Both of them were off of the lava elemental. The lava elemental is on a 30min timer and has a PH that sometimes pops instead of him. The blazing elementals pop 2 in the room every 20minutes, but so far nothing from the blazing elementals.
We get the PoF about every 3 kill of the lava elemental. This seems to be the better camp even though it's very slow!
I hope this helps you with your decision on where to camp for this item. Take care.

After 2 seperate nights of 6-7hr. camping trips I'm sick of Sol A and wish to Mithanial Marr I had come to this freaking zone when I could have still garnered some experience from killing Goblins in it.
I have come up with some great time killing ideas to perform while in this hell hole camping for your PoF.
1.) Summon Ale after Ale and get plastered. Your pet can handle the spawns and even if you can't see the mobs because your screen is blurred.
2.) Max out that ever wonderful 'Beg' skill. Jebaner won't ever attack you no matter how much you annoy him.
3.) Set a timer and use Windows mode to surf the web during the 20 minutes between spawns.
4.) Grab a good book.
5.) Watch TV
6.) Use Summon Monster until you get a Fire Goblin or Efreeti and park it somewhere near a hunting group of 25-30's. Start an OOC with that bored Cleric ,waiting on their spawn, about some named mob 'Jebartik' that drops insane amounts of plat and some Uber items. It will only take them about 15-20 minutes before they realize why they can't attack that Uber mob.
Any other great ideas would be appreciated as I am getting tired of 'Gems' and this fun only lasts so long. :) .

Guildie and I are both mages (me 55, him 53) so we decided to go get our Powers of Fire and went in. We spent an hour searching for the elemental spawns before I fell through an invis floor and 4 of these ganged up on me. They were whacking me down to 40% life when my pet came down and beat the crap outta them. A Power of Fire dropped and I did my celebration dance because I've heard how rare they are. My friend found his way down beside me and well, let's just say it's been 4 hours and while I'm writing this he's still hunting them. I was SOOOOO Lucky.

I camped this for 6 hours and no POF, has the drop rate been nerfed? I'm trying the lava elemental room now, hopefuly I'll have better luck there.

Helped a mage with this; we camped the blazing elementals for 30+ hours over 3 days before the PoF dropped. The zone was often empty, so you could roam around farming stuff. The platinum armbands and kobold-hide boots are the best sellers of the common drops (each sell for about 200 plat), so you may want to focus on those.
If you're a good race, you probably don't want to try for the lava elemental. PoF may be a more common drop from it, but since it has the wandering gnome clockwork placeholder, you'll lose your ability to sell in the zone after a few kills. Just selling junk drops from goblins and destroying silver & copper, we easily got 1500 plat. If you trash your gnome faction, the nearest vendor will be the dr00d vendor in lavastorm. I'd estimate the Lava elemental to be about a 1 in 4 spawn chance, and with the PoF a 1 in 10 drop from it. Nearly all mobs in the zone (the Reckless efreeti is a rare exception) are on a 20-minute timer. Making a very rough estimate, the reckless efreeti is on a 45 minute timer and is a 50/50 spawn chance vs another blazing elemental.
To farm the area, after you kill the elemental, run up and kill the inferno goblin captain, then whack any wandering goblins in the area (placeholders for Singe & Kindle), run around to the hallway with the kobold predator and kill whatever's in it or just past the door at the end of the hall.
That covers most of the better drops in the area without having to run to the other part of the dungeon with the bar & high shaman. When you see lower level people in the zone, they're likely pulling from the bar anyway.

btw, could not find lava elemental anywhere. Went to the spot shown on eq atlas, but nothing.

I think the drop rate of Power of Fire has been increased. I was camping these guys for 5 hours a month ago and no PoF droped. Yesterday a guildmate camped them for half an hour and yes! they droped PoF. She called me immediately telling this and if I wanted the camp. I run to SolA and WTF!! First blazing I kill drops another PoF!! Maybe was luck but perhaps u should try blazing and confirm this. Hope this helps!

If your looking for lava rocks the easiest place to get them is twilight sea. I was getting bout 4 or 5 an hour and have sold hundreds of em at the bazaar. Charchol and windstones also drops now offa the elementals and not to many people know that windstones drop from earth elementals in twi sea. Lol, i've made over 150 K from elemental drops and woulda made alot more if druid portals werent added to zone.

i was trying to camp the lava elemental in SOL A but i never saw it and i have been camping the blazing elementale for about 3 days now i havent gotten a PoF yet either the question i have is that if i am not in the room when the lava elemental pops will the gnomes kill him??

I have been camping these for 76 hours with my mage friend... NO drops. If anyone on MT has pof for sale/trade/mq cause they are feeling kind lemme or zabbu know.

I don't know what the problem is. Drop down into the efreet pit and camp the two blazing elementals the spawn there. I got my Power of Fire in five hours. Of course I also got my power of earth on the first fearie guard I killed. Power of water on the first enraged ravener I've killed. Ahd power of wind on the third gypsie dancer I killed. This the second easiest element of fire sub-sub quest there is. Pages of Magi'Kot being the easiest of course. Najena just suxors.
I'm currently looking for the PoF too and have geeked almost a dozen Elementals and got zippo. Since SolB is conveniently nearby, I'll zone between the two and either group in SolB or try my luck in SolA. At least I get cash and some goodies for my alts. But a PoF'd be nice.

ok this is sickning i camp the POF for 5 weeks and nothing a mage i know goes in and the first elemental he kills drops it umm ok verent ya made dragon scales easier to get now how about hookin us mages up buffing our pets dosent help much if were stuck in a greenine dungon for a month trying to complete a epic that now has become the hardest epic of them all

I went to camp blazing elementals instead and have done that for 8 to 10 hours now with no Power of Fire dropped. 8(

I got the power of fire off the lava elemental down at the dead end in the mining company that supposedly drops the runed lava pendant, but instead i got this crappy no drop item. hope that helps anyone looking for it...part of the enchanter epic isnt it for?

This items SUXS i hate doing my epic because need A loot of time, is another idea of verant to make money???
I know that nobody want to spent a whole month here waiting for such item.
Well the most probably is that verant burn his brain when make the mage epic the only thing that can do good s the story line but the other suxs, why the mages need to wait a lot of hours o get epic isnt to hard go to plane of sky or hate???
Bah i think that verant only can do good one thing make us waste time and get money.

okay, well, i just got the power of h2o. now off to solA to do what ya'll say is an agonizing camp. /sigh guess i'll need lots of coffee for this one. As if the mage epic isnt hard enuff, especially with the planes items. they could be a lil more forgiving on the non plane drops...lol. wish me luck. i'm off to begin this.

i have camped the Power of fire here for at least 40 hours and still no drop. I dont know what sort of morons work at verant but they better wake up to themselves. If people dont make progress and enjoy playing there game they wont play it. well I for one wont. Verant grow a brain.

I am camping him on Povar and I have been in Sol A for almost a week . . although I try to keep busy clearing the rest of te zone, I've gotten some nice loot so far

ok i am sick of camping the blazing elementals for days and hours. i think there should be more blazing elementals and should drop the power of fire WAY for often. I have been camping the lava elemental and the blazing elementals. PLEASE change this drop rate, mage epic is hard enough.

Im a cleric zoned in to kill my Lord Grimblox...he was up..got my ring, went to Gabbie killed her , got amolten cloak, went to efreeti got this piece, then killed him and got armband.

I was camping the Reckless Efreeti, killed a blazing elemental and looted the PoF. Had no idea what it was for until reading this post. I'm not familiar with the Mage quest but if it's possible would be happy do part of this quest for any Mage on my server (Xegony), if multi-questing this part is possible.
