I've just tried camping him once.
I killed lots of random spiders and never saw him pop before I finally succumbed to one of the lesser black spiders.
I couldn't tell what killed me from the messages but I know my necro's health was down and so must have been the spider's hp spell. Keep your hp up as much as you can is my advice. I had no problems with all the other spiders up to that point but that one finally got me.
all the spiders are social so pull them without running by any other spiders. They are easy to snare and pull to one of the walls.

PH is the only lower level Great Black Spider in the zone.
At 82, all Great Blacks are dark blue, except the PH for Terrorvenom, which is light blue. It also doesn't seem to drop the glands.
Currently farming it for alts--score is 6 augs and one of the slot 3 rings

this guy spawns about 15 minutes after you have been in the instance
if he isnt there in about 16 or 17 mins(30 seconds getting task and trying to zone in doesnt count)he isnt gonna show

Ran instance today solely for the purpose of trying to find Terrorvenom. He spawned 9 times in a row, so *if* he even has a PH then he's a common spawn or I just received some astronomical luck. He spawned in 9 different locations so no point in listing them, all in the NE quadrant of the zone, and he will start to roam fairly soon after spawning. Respawn time is 6 minutes and the first spawn didn't occur until 6 minutes after the instance was available to enter. Used bard to track, with limited range I would stand in the horseshoe shape in the path NW of where you begin instance, and was always in range to track when he spawned.
Max hit on an 81 SK with all defensive AAs to that level + 19% shielding was 2792.
In addition to Tangleweb and Venomous Spittle he also casts Venom Spray, a directional AE(7.5kDD+2k DoT+Blind), so face the mob accordingly. I wasn't bothering singing resist but with 539 unbuffed PR on SK the Venom Spray was resisted the bulk of the time. Never resisted the Spittle version. Also resisted Tangleweb frequently.
In all those fights he Flurried in a few and didn't during others. Never enraged. Not snareable, doesn't flee.
Gave up on finding a PH as loot was starting to rot for my group, saw all 3 items already listed as possible drops, so we just left.

Yellow to 83 this spider can not be snared and he does summon. He also casts a spell called Tangelweb which slows movement rate by 65.
He was killed with 2 tanks, 2 clerics, and enchanter and a necromancer.

Does he spawn only in instance? We've been in the zone for about 2 weeks now and havent seen it at all.

Have only seen him in Bitter Victuals instance. Popped 4 times in a row. 1 Aug :) 3 rings :(
Is he up when you zone into the instance or do you have to do some killing to pop him?
