Whomped on him last night with an 85 mage with t1 healer merc. I've fought and killed gravid before but this was the first time I've seen him rampage, and he did so quite often. Didn't help much that he was spawning those those little bloated grubs and they love to blow up on you and do around 2k damage if not resisted. I was never really in danger the whole fight, merc had to spend a little more mana keeping a promised heal on me but all in all was still a relatively trivial fight at 85. He dropped the Redshell Mask and the spell "Shield of the Void", spell not listed under his drops.

I have been hunting in this zone for about 5 hours and have killed fire beetles bats skeles and some names yet i have not come across this name at all. Is there a PH to this mob and who or what is it since i have never seen this mob yet. Looked near ruins and where Malign spawns never showed up.
Got this guy as part of an add to something else I was pulling. I initially did'nt worry about it when I got him as an add because of the "A gravid fire beetle" title. Figured the "A" part of the name made him just another trash mob in OGV where I was not having any trouble as a boxed 77 druid / 77 Enchanter with tank and cleric mercs killing the normal mobs, that, and he conned blue. Once the fight was in full swing, and I realized that he was spawning adds, and had a fair amount of hps with good damage, and that he was probably not a normal mob.
He spawned on edge of small ridge that is on left side as you are standing at edge of village staring back towards OGH zone. There is a big open expanse of green, then this low ridge....this is often a hang out spot for Malign as well.
He was probably not that tough of a fight, but with the two adds I had as well as the beetles he was spawning, it was a close thing at times.
He dropped the boots for me on that trip. That is the only time I have seen him.

I have fought around the village for about 15 AAs and have not seen him yet. Anyone have any pointers? Would love to upgrade my armor.
I saw him near the ruins.

There is also a "Fire Beetle Grub" which con light blue to a 77
