I'm a higher level but want to hunt bears to make backpacks. I need high quality bear skins. What are the best bears to hunt to find these?

The animals in jagged pine forset are Level 30-50 and drop HQ skins more common.

The kodiak bears for me never dropped the claws, but they do drop HQ bear pelts that go for 50pp on xegony. They are kind of rare but if you still getting exp thats nice money for that lvl, and another hint Watch out for GRIFFINS

These do not drop Kodiak Claws I do not think, I have killed many of these and none of them dropped Kodiak Claws. I am pretty darn sure onlt the ones in GD(Savages, Ferocious, Feral, etc.)in the Kod caves

I hopethat cleared up some messy information =))

You are correct, the bears in the old world do NOT drop ANY sort of claws. They drop standard bear loot. For kodiak claws, Icetooth's claws, etc, you have to get them from Velious kodiaks.
i am not sure about the claws but i just wanted to post my o

Well i have hunted these since 13. (duel wield is great)....they aren't very hard, except that they hit for hard...but they miss alot....i found that they gave me alot of xp...that is how i got to level 15 (same as you stump...i mean champion)..oh yeah about the claws, i have never seen them drop....well that was my story for the day...

All I know is some buddies were killing them left and right, as I was resting to restore mana to port to DL. Then one of my friends said before we ported "anyone who wants kodi claws come get them" and alot of people came and they look like wolverine claws. I dont know if they got them off the bears they were fighting or got them somewhere else, all I know is they handed them out.

I was wondering if you get the Kodiak Claw weapon from killing kodiaks? If not do you by chance know how to get them?

This is my regular meal for my level 13 pet. the trick is... to NEVER let your pet take all the damage. first pull it with a Leach, then send it pet.. then heat blood.. and melee! be sure to be packed with a lifespike/lifedraw and use them whenever you need them. works everytime for me =)
#Anonymous, Posted: Jul 10 2000 at 2:58 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) These bears scratch real hard. Good thing my master fears it away so i can BASH DOUBLE ATTACK AND KILL IT BWAHAHAHA
Double Spawns
# Jun 01 2000 at 10:04 AM Rating: Decent
Our group takes on Young Kodiaks pretty regularly. We can continuously pull the area due to our numbers and tactics. When pulling YK's you'll see overlapping bears and sometimes double spawns that move together. Kodiaks will hide among YK's and make things nasty. That's where peole get killed solo. Kodiaks and YK's are VERY Different. Kodiaks resist more, Hit much harder, and take much more to put down. The words over their heads overlap and the con will sometimes only show the Blue YK, not the RED Kodiak. Be safe!
