These things not only come out of water, but they seem to like being out of it. I found a couple swimming around the edge of the trees near the entrance to Nariak.

Greetings,

Large Piranha are now part of the OoW Task quest.

My 13 War had to kill 10 in Nektulos Forest - good source of fish scales if you need them, up to 3 from a given kill

Holy Iskar! That things huge!

I've always been paranoid of swimming in any computer game, as I am deathly afraid of sharks or big nasty lurking thingys. I'm definetly NOT going swimming with one of those...

No they dont follow out of water, yes thy drop scales.
I love to hunt the water Mobs. why easy escape.

1 go under and cast DD
2 get up on land but close to water so fish comes after you but cant hit you.
3 stay there and look at the fish. after 30 sec or so hell de aggro and swim back under.
4 go under again and hit him with 2 DD, hes dead and corpse near you.
great exp. crap loot.

Incorrect.
The higher level ones under the bridge in Nektulas Forrest WILL follow you onto the shore for a short distance. Additionaly, once you have goten their attention you will keep it until you log or zone. So do NOT attempt to med up on the bridge. The will hit you through it.

Fish scales?

if you need fish scales, why don't you just go to the casters guild in freeport and buy them for 1sp or so each?

Level off for the ones in the Qeynos Aqueducts
# Jun 18 2001 at 7:48 AM Rating: Default
These are also found in the Qeynos Aqueducts, but the level range shown is not correct.

The ones in qcat are around level 5 to 8 best guess. At level 9, I have yet to see one that isn't green to me now and a friend and I have been killing them since we were around level 5.

Anyway, just an FYI.

Happy Hunting,

Great in WC
# Jun 12 2001 at 2:59 AM Rating: Default
I killed these things with my 14 ranger and since they dont hit for much they are an easy kill for the exp you get. i would get over one half of a blue bar exp off of the blues. i recomend this to anyone in WC in the 10-14 lvl range. Watch out for those dark elves sometimes they are dragged out there.
Will they follow you out of the water?
# Jun 05 2001 at 2:58 AM Rating: Default
If I jump in the river in Nektulos and attack one, will it follow me out of the water? I've seen someone kiting a baracuda in Lake Of Ill Omen, but they were running around in the field OUTSIDE the water. I don't want to jump in the river and smack one of these only to end up having it biting my *** all the way to the EC zone.

Acually, I have seen them follow people out of the water a couple of times.

No they dont follow you out of the water and anyways they do very little dmg for their lvl.

West Commanlands Piranha
# Mar 17 2001 at 5:46 PM Rating: Default
The Large Piranha in the lake in West Commandlands are consistently white/black for my level 14 druid. And they are fairly tough at that level. .

These fishes are mainly dark blue & a small number black to my 14 cleric

I killed them no problem with my 14 ranger and very rarely found white/black ones in the lake in WC.
These things are easy
# Feb 17 2001 at 11:23 PM Rating: Default
After about Level 10 i used to kill these with my druid for a quest in River Vale
This Fish kills!

don't try to beat on one of these mothers in nektulos. and i thought my lvl 10 necro is enough to slain one... well i was wrong... and one more thing..... learn that swimming skills and breathe under water spells cos you're gonna need them. :)
Nuking fishies
# Jul 13 2000 at 8:09 PM Rating: Decent
Sadly to say you cannot nuke the fish from out of the water, i tried something similar in Oasis. I have learned that unless you are both in or out of the water all you do is make a spark and waste mana.
RE: Nuking fishies
# Jun 12 2001 at 2:55 AM Rating: Default
Actually if you get close enough to the shore on some parts of the lake you can get your head above water and can still hit them and they can hit you but you don't have to worry about air.
Dumb question...
# Jul 08 2000 at 8:59 AM Rating: Decent
Can you just stand out of the water and nuke one to death?
Mob levels
# Jun 26 2000 at 11:21 AM Rating: Decent
I just thought I would second what Uthor said. The same mob can be significantly different in different zones. For example, my level 29 magician killed a Crushbone orc legionnaire in Lesser Faydark that conned blue and gave experience. Inside Crushbone, my level 18 paladin is hard-pressed to find a lego that cons blue.
Zone Difference
# May 02 2000 at 1:54 AM Rating: Decent
Okay, For those of you who havent figured this out yet. Creatures change from zone to zone i.e. the skeletons in Ferrott are levels 4-6, while the skeletons in Steamfont are level 8-12. So the piranhas in the aquaducts might be oh, 7th level while the ones in Kithcor are 10th to 14th. Thats why you really need to con everything before you fight it, or else you might get into a little more trouble than its worth
Easy Fishies
# Apr 25 2000 at 1:26 PM Rating: Default
umm...In the aqueducts I fought one and con'd it. I got blue and it was an easy kill. What're u talkin about it bein a lev 10 creature?!?!?
RE: Easy Fishies
# Jun 12 2001 at 2:56 AM Rating: Default
You sure it was large piranha because the ones in WC are 10- 14.
Level
# Mar 20 2000 at 3:40 AM Rating: Decent
The ones in the Qeynos Catacombs/Sewers are not as dangerous as the ones in the river in Nektulos Forest. They are blue at lvl 10, so 6 to 8, I guess.
