Killed him today at 12:14 AM and he DID NOT drop the robe... He does follow this same path and does spawn on the same random mobs that follow this path...

1st--you don't need a druid. Park yourself at the bottom of the hill across from the giant hill(zone in, turn right, run up, giant hill directly in front of you), then just kill everything that paths your way. I spawned him 3 or 4 times this way...he will spawn at the hill and at the valley directly across from zone-in so u may want to run over there and check.

Well, I guess the grass is always greener... 3 blasted monks in a row, ALL in a dress, and still no Bootstrutter...I think it's entirely random. hehe

this guy is the ph for 3 different guys, he is an odd ph though, in the fact that he has THREE different spawn points, but only ONE can be up at a time, all 3 spawn points are on the giant hill, hasten bootstrutter spawns at the northern spawn point, Maldyn spawns in the middlish spawn point, and Brother spawned in the southernish area of the hill, right by the orc camp.

all of them seem to spawn on the eastern(or maybe it was western, which ever side of the hill is opposite of the feerot zone) side of the hill.

i thought it was rather odd that he was spawning on the hill, but was pathing differently each time i saw him spawn, i was running the 6 minute timer, so i know he wasn't pathing that far that fast.

so he is the ph for 3 different named, each named has a different spawn point, and this guy can spawn from any of the 3 spawn points, but only 1 "A drake" can be up at a time however it seems.

this makes for a long camp since the spawn point for brother seems to be the rare one, i was getting hastens ph, maldyns ph fairly often, however the drake that spawned in or around the orc camp on the hill seemed to be a bit rarer then the other 2 spawn points.


so Brother is a rare mob from a rare spawn ph... meh


hope this helps some of you monks looking for the robes...



sorry i couldnt get exact locations, the mob spawns and starts to move immediately, however each one paths differently which is how i discovered the 3 different spawn points and the named associated with them.

also, killed him with my 60 ranger, 8k hp 1.6k ac, was a long fight he ran at 20% or so, resisted everything i had, hit 356max on pe/ca3/cs3/nd3

forgot to add, no faction hits for killing any of the 3 named guys that can spawn from "a drake"

This camp still sucks as bad as what others have posted in the past, been here a total of 36 hours now and so far had:

146 drakes
91 hasten
80 maldryns
3 bro zs

hopefully I get this guy soon...

edit: Bro z resists all my spells except for my lifetap series, all other dots and debuffs are resisted. Hope this helps (alteration)...
Finally got my cloak after 5 brother z kills somewhere around 45 hours

So i recently decided to start my monks epic and figured this would be a good shortcut versus the headbands (hes iksar).

Basically set up camp with my bard(62) and shaman(66) right behind glaron the wickeds camp with track on.

6min spawn, tons of ph (drake, maldyn, hasten)

ive had maybe 3-4 brother z spawns but none with the robe equip'd :[.

brother z: doesnt hit too hard, maybe tops 300 on my 62 merc, basically cant land any spells on him so you need some phys dps, merc does enough to almost solo him.

If your having trouble finding his pathing spot, he starts at the hill giant camp (north east on the map) and paths down the only path available towards ferrott and hangs a left through the narrow pathway.

Gotta say though its all about luck with this camp, and GL to anyone who has time to burn.

Sidenote: pop in a movie and idle or farm hill giants, good source of defiant gear / platinum while waiting on the 6minute timer.

edit: 9hours finally got it, pipe farming now ~_~.

lol ended up getting immortals and both pipes in about 2hours total, luck o.o

any have a drop rate of the robe off this guy ive spent about 20+ hrs so far farming this guy killed him at least 15 to 20 times and no robe yet or did they remove the robe from his drop list. any info would be helpfull maybe a way to make him spawn more often would maybe up my chance at robe. ive been pretty much clearing everything in the giant bowl, new giant bowl as i was away for few yrs and found that it had moved, but go for hrs on end without even seeint this guy spawn
cant even say how many phs of the a drake, bootstuter, maldyn combos ive went thru but its been alot.

Ok so for the past 14 hours, and literally, I have camped this guy in Rathe for my monkie.

Info: 6 Minute Timer

I've killed tons of drakes, Maldyn's, and Hasten's.
Got 9 TOTAL Brother's, and all robeless.

Does he still spawn with the robe, or am I hopeless? :P

Got Brother Z on April 26th 2008. He had the robe on and dropped it when he died.
I spend a total of 2 days there, made about 12k Plat with hill giants.
Brother Zephyl spawned 8 or 9 times, i lost track at some point. I really recommend killing him instead of doing the sash/headband Quests, i started doing them and wasted 2 days in south karana and 2 more in Black Burrow.

Small Guide, if you have access to a druid:

i parked the druid at the entrace to the hillgiant area and hit track. Enabled the "Automatic update" Option and let him sit there. Whatever spawns will be on top of the tracklist, so you dont have to scroll up and down when you think its about spawntime. ALso all PHs: a Drake, Maldyn and Hasten WILL walk by. Other guides suggest to camp at the ferott intersection, but why if you can make good plat?

I killed HGs with my monk and dropped the plat/FS weapons on the druid. when the inventory was full i ported to pok, sold the FS, banked and gated back to the Hillgiant area. Since my monk is only 51 he got about 1.5% AA Exp per kill (i set it to 100%) and with the druid close i killed nonstop.

Killed him early this morning 3:30am est. He dropped the robe on the first spawn we had have him. The camp was almost 4 hours before he spawned. Killed many drakes, and Hasten 3 times before the spawn. Sitting at the intersection in front of Ferrott is a great spot. All the PH's and him path right through there. And they do show every 6 mins on the dot. Also, I killed him with my 72 war and a 71 bst. Very easy kill. Logged in my monk after kill, looted robe, and now for the dreaded pipe kills =/

Ok so far, been here hours already.
I have gotten
27 Drakes
20 Hastens
20 Maldyns
and
1 Brother Z and no robe yet.

Ok here is update for tonights work. After about 14 hours or so i ended up killing
59 Drakes
48 Hastens
44 Maldyns
2 Brother Z's

Time for the first one is listed and second time still with no robe was at
3:50am PST time (CA) January 3rd 2008 This camp is extremely long unless u happen to get lucky. I am using my 75 warrior to kill the stuff that wanders past me at the crossroads area by Feerrott. I got a ranger parked way up on a hill just to track so i know what is up and can run to it in a sec and kill it.
This camp is really annoying me but i need it for epic. So this shows how long i have been there so far.

question about this guy...ive been camping him for a few days now with my cleric, had him spawn 5 times and no robe. Does my monk need to be in zone for this guy to have the robe, or am I just unlucky. the cleric and monk are on the same acct and the monk isnt strong enough to kill him. Will he ever have the robe with my cleric camping this?

Brother Z dropped robe today 03DEC2007. A tip may be thatI killed his naked version and 2 spawns later the robed version spawned. Robed version is the only version that drops robe. But I have never seen 2 brother Z's spawn that close together. I dont know maybe it was just a coincidence.

is it possible for me to duo this guy with a 67 warrior about 11k buffed, and a 65 cleric? or should i use my 65 shammy?

up to about 15 hours now, have gotten a total of 3 zephyl pops and no robe yet - the frikkin 1.5 is easier than this - WTF!?!

been here for 6 hours now, kiiled an ungodly amount of drakes, 2 Maldyns and 4 or 5 hastens, but not 1 Zephyl pop yet - for a mob thats supposed to be a turn in mob, he sure doesnt spawn very often, hell, Ive gotten the Druid epic Hill Giant to pop 5 times already =/

A few friends and I went after Brother Z last night in Rathe Mountains. If you head North from the Feerrott zoneline you'll see a hill with all the giants on it. Brother Z, Unkempt, a drake, and Hasten spawn at random locations around the hill, but they always path south toward the only opening there is to lower in the zone. If you post near the Wicked guy for shaman epic you'll be able to see the spawn as it paths down the hill and be able to kill it the fastest and cause next respawn a bit faster than waiting down near Feerrott. Spawn time is exactly 6 minutes on the nose. We had 2 Brother Z spawns early on, no robe. Stayed for about 2 more hours, lots of drakes, Hasten, and Unkempt... Then finally, Brother Z spawned with the robe. He looked a bit silly because you could see his "Wu" graphic top, then he had red sleeves and a red skirt. But, he dropped the robe as of April 30, 2007.

I'm lucky because I just came back to EQ after several years away and my main was a monk before and is again after. Last time around though I did the Raster and Rock camps, this time a friend decided we could go after Brother Z instead and get me a robe early on so I could wear it. So right now, I'm wearing a Robe of the Lost Circle until I either get an upgrade or turn it in for my epic and go back to wearing my Wu's Fighting Shirt.

Dropped Torn Cloth Tunic* just now, which isn't on the list.

Well......After killing many placeholders and many brothers with help from guildies. I finnaly recieved my robe. It was hard work and alot of camping but he does still drop the robe and the PH's are the same. Longest camp I've had so far on the epic to date. The sad part is that he was up when I wasnt even camping him...This is what happened after a long day of camping I was tired so logged off. About an hour went by and my monk was overweight with Plat and gold so I was going to log in and go to the bank. While running to the bank for a quick deposit I saw a red Figure dart by me. I couldnt believe what I was seeing and Called to all Guildies to come and save the day. No one answered and my Brother came over with 75 Nec and killed him. Brother was right by Feerot zone line at the fork in the road. Previous post have said that he will walk by if you continue to kill anything that walks down path Drakes, Bootstrutters and unkepts n hill eventually he will pop. Killed him 4 times when he wasnt wearing robe and once with and it dropped. This is just to give hope to the ones that will attempt this epic after me. I want to give you some hope. My grammar is horrible Im tired and I must go.


LVL 50 Monk Bonecaster of Drinal

He and his PHs are now on an exact 6 minute timer, verified.

PHs are ONLY a drake, Maldyn the unkempt, and Hasten Bootstrutter.
All PHs will spawn near the new Hill Giant area, somewhere on the East side of the hill.

Killed 4 Zephyl spawns so far, all had no robe graphic, and dropped no robe.

-Odd point to note: if you are in zone when Brother Z spawns, he often displays the monk-only chest graphic (Wu's Fighting Shirt etc), but if you zone in post-spawn, he appears to have a regular leather tunic on. GL to ye :)

Yesterday I got Zephyl to spawn twice in less than 2 hours. So, he seems rather common.

If you enter Rathe from Feerrot ... sit just in from the Feerrot zone where the road splits in 3 (keep the zone to your back). Kill anything that passes within site. Zephyl will come at you facing the Feerot zone and head up toward the giants. He took this path both times and walks very slow. I killed Hasten 3 times, a bunch of Drakes, skellies, lizards, beetles, ... anything that moved.

The first time he spawned a mid 60's level druid soloed him and he did not drop a robe (he was not wearing one either). The second time he spawned I did my hand in (via MQ), and got my pattern. Note, Zephyl was not wearing the robe this time either.

Earlier this week I did see the robe on Brother Qwinn in South Karana though.

brother Z has a better chance to drop robe my guild killed 4 brother q's on combine and only 1 robe dropped then we killed brother z first kill got a robe =) both about 2 groupable killed qwinn with an SK tank used warrior with defensive on brother Z eazy kill 2 clerics as well

clearing drakes for 5 hours now, gotten like 45 drakes, 1 maldyn and 2 hasten. WTF IS BROTHER ZEPHYL
