a drake  

this guy is the ph for 3 different guys, he is an odd ph though, in the fact that he has THREE different spawn points, but only ONE can be up at a time, all 3 spawn points are on the giant hill, hasten bootstrutter spawns at the northern spawn point, Maldyn spawns in the middlish spawn point, and Brother spawned in the southernish area of the hill, right by the orc camp.

all of them seem to spawn on the eastern(or maybe it was western, which ever side of the hill is opposite of the feerot zone) side of the hill.

i thought it was rather odd that he was spawning on the hill, but was pathing differently each time i saw him spawn, i was running the 6 minute timer, so i know he wasn't pathing that far that fast.

so he is the ph for 3 different named, each named has a different spawn point, and this guy can spawn from any of the 3 spawn points, but only 1 "A drake" can be up at a time however it seems.

this makes for a long camp since the spawn point for brother seems to be the rare one, i was getting hastens ph, maldyns ph fairly often, however the drake that spawned in or around the orc camp on the hill seemed to be a bit rarer then the other 2 spawn points.


so Brother is a rare mob from a rare spawn ph... meh

they all seem to spawn around the new HG area and can move THROUGH walls to get to other valleys! spawn timer is 5:57 (not 6 mins) so you can save yourself another 3 seconds...i have been killing drakes for a while now. saw 1 hasten and way too many drakes and now 1 maldyn. no brother yet /cry. good luck to all yall!

SW side of HG hill (neg 200, pos 1750) the 2 times that I saw him. Repop is 6 minutes. Drifting Death + Drones of Doom = dead drake.

Stays at spawn point for half a minute, then paths north, then east along the north side of HG hill. Next stop is the valley with the drakes to the SE of HG hill (not sure where he paths from there).

"Basalt Drake Scales" -- an item needed for the totemic armor cloak quest. I found the "a drake" outside the Z sphynx passage.

Killed 3 of these recently with my 29 Druid. No problems with spells and didnt see Hasten so I dont know about the place holder theory. Nice loot and xp though. 2 of the 3 dropped over 3pp and one dropped a page.

I've seen this sometime near the gyspie camp, but it always have an extremely low health and i try to cast the spell on it, the message I kept getting saying it's too far away. Anybody have this similar problem?
